Ladies and gentlemen, you can know download the latest versions of Call Steed and Saddlebags as one file that allows both mods to work together!


MaroboshiDaikon's mod has already been released, but it's is being released with Call Steed 2.0 so the two are compatible. You can check out the original release info for Saddlebags 0.91 here

Here's the new release info for Call Steed 2.0:

Based on the poll results in the official Oblivion forums, most players said they would like to see Call Steed turned into a spell. 2.0 is the first spell-based version of Call Steed (the first two versions were ring-based). In the new version, you will need to purchase the spell from Calindil in the Mystic Emporium, located in the Market District of the Imperial City. (Note: The spell is actually called "Summon My Steed.") You simply equip the spell like you would any other and here's what happens when you cast the spell:

1) The casting animation will begin with your hand raised in the air to summon.

2) A menu will appear asking you to choose the horse you want to summon from a list.
Hit cancel if you decide not to summon a horse.

3) Once you select a horse, the menu will disappear and the cast will finish, subtracting the appropriate amount of magicka from your pool.

4) Your horse will be summoned nearby and he will run to you. He will be in follow mode.

5) Whenever you dismount a horse, you will be asked whether or not you want the horse to follow. Simply select Yes or No. **Keep in mind that, if you fast travel to an exterior location, the horse will be transported in whatever state he was beforehand, so he will continue to follow or just stand still.**


**Try not to summon a horse when in water. They can't swim! smile.gif**


That's all there is to using the Call Steed spell!

Now, here is a bonus for the true explorer: Legend has it there is an enchanted object that can be used to summon a much sought after mystical creature, the Unicorn, but time has diluted the truth of its location, and now no one really knows where this magical item is located. In fact, the item has been reported to not only summon the Unicorn, but it also has another extraordinary and unexpected benefit. For those brave souls interested in owning this elusive treasure, heed the following poem:

Deep within Tamriel's green bosom,
Ever so still and cold I lay
In wooden walls tightly locked.
My guardians eagerly await the fray.

This sounds cool. Can you also explain the saddlebags mod? Are the saddlebags linked to a specific horse? Is there a limit on what they can carry? Thanks for your work on these, great stuff!!

I at first thought this could be considered "cheating" but then figured what the hell, if you feel like its cheating, swim out to the middle of a lake and drop 10K gold and say payed for a "magical horse talisman" that allows you to summon a magical steed!! There, balance maintained... Besides, not like horses make you invincable really...
