Chorrol.com _ Oblivion cheats and hints _ Salmo The Baker

Posted by: Wurlon Jul 24 2006, 02:28 PM

Is it possible to barter with Salmo The Baker? No matter what time I visit his home (In Skingrad) he doesn't let me barter with him.... yet everyone claims he sells the best sweetrolls.

Need..... sweet.....ROLLS! (Turns into a daedra)

Posted by: Rane Jul 27 2006, 04:23 PM

I'm afraid he never sells anything. You could always take the Sweetrolls he has on his shelves and leave a coin or two in their place.

Or kill him, search his body and empty his house.

You can't... at least not on the 360... or can you? ohmy.gif

Hmm, I guess you can't after all. Must have mixed that up with some other game.

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Aug 27 2006, 04:50 PM

with morrowind, money was acctually an item (of sorts) and could pick it up as well as put it down.

Could you actually drop it in Morrowind? Or was it restricted to dropping gold into containers? I have to admit, I cannot remember anymore.

And Gold is an actual item in Oblivion as well, it just doesn't exist in stacks anywhere in the game world, just in single coins. The only place where you'll find more than one coin (in stack) is in containers.

You could drop it anywhere you wanted in Morrowind, I filled entire rooms with it simply because I could and it looked cool.

I don't know if its the same in Oblivion.

He's just a nobody who lives in Skingrad, in the southwestern part if my memory serves me right. Nothing really special about him, you just occasionally hear about his sweetrolls that are supposed to be more or less amazing.

A nobody? The whole of Cyrodiil talks about him and his sweetrolls! laugh.gif

I´ve been thinking about getting a mod so he actually sells them. Maybe I´ll get it later in the spring.

Posted by: King Of Beasts Feb 9 2013, 01:47 AM

Why get a mod when you can just kill him and take the sweet rolls for free huh.gif

Posted by: mirocu Feb 9 2013, 09:03 AM

Beacuse like I said in Bethsoft forums, Cyrodiil needs more people, not less. It´s empty enough as it is tongue.gif

yes , well lets look at the facts , he does look a little woman-like , with his hair n all , he has NO taste ( he wears a prsion garment for gods sake) also he loves baking , obviously men love cooking ( i know i do) but in the middle ages cookign was not assosiated with mens work , clearly he is also exceptional at it as well.

anyway he shouldnt be ashamed , look at glathir..LOL

Posted by: mirocu Feb 9 2013, 12:41 PM

I don´t think we can compare Tamriel with Earth. There are even female guards in Tamriel and middle age Earth did not have that either.

Aahh, the good ol´ days, huh? laugh.gif

yes and no.

Women warriros did exist , also guards were not as common place on earth than in tamriel.

There were a few women soldiers , also look at all the queens britain has had , boudcia was a warrior although admittadly she was not queen of brtiain . ( or even england)

Anyway, I´m fairly set on getting that mod. It would be nice to have him actually sell what he makes smile.gif

ow dear! i didnt mean to be agumentitive , mirocu the mediatator blink.gif

biggrin.gif

i accept your point that women have not until releatively recently played an important part in warfare , even today in some countries ( not in the UK but , for example , the USA) there are still restrictions on what women can do in an army.

the one thing tamrielic society got right was realising that men/women were equal across the board with both capable of acheiving what we have seen in our more conservative world as "womens work" or "mans duties" tongue.gif

nice to see the women not letting the side down , even the blades is not dominated by men goodjob.gif

although...the legion IS dominated by men , women are the exception to the rule , very few women have managed to get into the legion yet.

Well, this is about Salmo, not females. I just tried to stay on topic.

Yes but what if salmo IS a female , then it would be one thing much the same

* looks all superior*

closedeyes.gif

hehe , one of my charcters actually had a crush on salmo , but she was always so upset because whenever she went in their to chat to him he was always locked away in his room! * one minute!* he would shout , and then barrcade the door with his bed so i couldnt pick the lock and force my way in

She got more and more hysterical as time went on because she heard everybody talking about how wonderful his cooking was and how they had went to see him this day..that day . she began to plot like glathir

in the end she broke into his bakery trying to catch him out , but he was always locked in that damn room!! indifferent.gif

in the end she flooded the place with sweetrolls , she was terrible at picking locks so she decided she would force the door , as the waves of rolls mounted he began to panic panic.gif , the door was suddenyl blown inwards and a solid wave of sweetrolls exploded into his room...followed by my avatar..

ow well , they ended up both on the floor ...

no it didnt end like you were thinking...salmo was furios and demanded she got out , desperate not to get a bounty she decepartly began to shovel her way out

"IM WARNING YOU ! GET OUT OR ILL CALL THE GUARDS"

* swims in rolls towards door*

"GUARDS ! GUARDS!!!"

I do remember being puzzled by Salmo the Baker. Why doesn't he sell his sweetrolls? ... I was disappointed by this.

I remember I read somewhere that Beth overlooked it. He´s supposed to sell, he even has a sign you know, but they forgot to implement that function.
