QUOTE(Grits @ Nov 20 2015, 12:12 AM) It turned out to be 24GB. What the heck!
Good gracious me I was planning on checking out Orsinium, but I'll need to set aside at least 4 days for that download.

Started the Orsinium DLC today. So far so good.
It adds the region of Wrothgar, which seems to be about the same size as any of the larger regions in the game, though I won't know exactly how big it is until I've been everywhere and discovered all of the locations. At first glance it looks to be about the same size as Stonefalls - maybe a teeny bit bigger.
It looks gorgeous though. Very Skyrim-ish (unsurprisingly) but maybe even more mountainous. Half the map looks snowy, and I'll explore the other half soon. Already seen some cool new critters and met some interesting NPCs.
The actual city of Orsinium is one of the largest cities I've seen in ESO. Looks really cool, and I've already learned a bit about Orc stuff. They even have a museum, which was the first place Haa Rei wanted to visit.
DLC also adds some new weapons and armor apparently, but I'm yet to see any. Haa Rei was very much looking forward to some warm, furry cloaks or something. Perhaps one day. We purchased a Polar Bear mount though, so it's not all bad news.
The area is technically Veteran level 16, but all players are scaled up to Veteran 15 when they enter so you can jump in whenever you want.

Wow, I didn't realize it was adding such a huge explore-able area!

Haa-Rei and I have been taking part in the Cyrodiil PvP over the last few days. I had to re-do all of his skills and stats to better optimise him for the harsh conditions of the Alliance War, but once you get the right character build set up the whole thing is really fun.
The servers are very laggy though, and it's a widespread problem on all platforms that Zenimax have been trying to fix for over a year. The other major problem is a lack of balance in the alliances. One minute your alliance might be doing great, the next - everyone goes offline or more enemy players come online and they sweep across the whole map. There's nothing in place to stop players from switching characters on the fly so you often get people switching to the winning alliance when the tides of battle turn. Personally I think you should be restricted to having one character on each server, and rewards should be given to players who fight for a single alliance for a long time.
The battles themselves are super fun though. Huge sieges and massive melees feel really exciting. Of course there's still PvE in Cyrodiil, and this offers just as many places to explore and people to meet than other zones in the game - just keep an eye out for enemy players while you do so.
We also figured out how to get armour for mounts, but it's going to take a looooong time.

BOLD: This is already the way it is done, you cannot have two player characters of different Alliances on the same Cyrodiil server - I learned that when I tried to bring Calia into Cyrodiil on the same server Misa was there on. But I am so excited that you are doing the civil war stuff, I did want to try it one day too! Have you captured anyone's Elder Scroll? What kind of changes to your build did you have to make? A friend of mine uses different add-ons for his PvP character.

QUOTE(Grits @ Jan 5 2016, 08:18 AM) Jerric had a small breakthrough the last time we played. A big issue I have with the game is that Jerric does not have a sense of inhabiting the world. For example he can do a lying down animation at will, but that’s not the same as sleeping. For water he’s been gathering the alchemy water ingredient and then using the Destroy menu option to “drink” it. That’s kind of worse than not drinking water at all. Today he crouched down at a water collection spot, did the scooping animation, and then stood up without collecting the inventory item. Cue smug Nordic grin. It wasn’t there because he drank it. Sometimes it’s the little things. That scooping motion sounds better, I've been using the drinking animation like she poured it into a cup and drank from the cup; and for sleeping have been climbing onto mats or cots and laying down. What is the code for the scooping water animation? - Oh wait, I know what you are talking about! When you are collecting water for alchemy? Oh, good idea! (For me) - I find it kind of more immersive to actually see my character sleeping than the (darkened screen effect). That "See You Sleep" mod in Oblivion was one of my absolute favorite mods; so I was really tickled that they incorporated it into ESO. Here is Misa sleeping at a camp she stopped in at - really wish that letter prompt didn't ruin this screenshot, lol. http://i.imgur.com/XSXR7iV.pngThis post has been edited by mALX: Jan 5 2016, 04:44 PM

Capturing an Elder Scroll is way above a solo players abilities. It takes a big team of skilled players to nab one. I had to completely re-do Haa-Rei's build. All his attributes, skills, champion points. He's now a stamina build, and relies on critical hits/critical damage and various buffs to keep him alive. Spent ages mooching about the ESO forums to see what abilities other players were using. Cyrodiil is crazy unbalanced though. Some players are going around doing 20k damage with a single attack, and Haa-Rei only has 20k health. He's a sorcerer and an archer, so we can't just dive into big fights. We spend a lot of time in stealth mode, scouting around, and fighting from the relative safety of high castle walls.
