Wow, a deeply moving start to this chapter. While Setsuna's death is saddening, everything can't work out, but at least Sethyas still lives. You've moved me Black Hand *tear*

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 11 2006, 10:56 AM

*sob* I hoped it wouldn't have to end this way. Now what? Maybe if Sethyas 'finds' (as in, Caius makes sure there is one) a connection between the Dark Brotherhood and Dagoth Ur, he might feel like going down the Nerevarine path.

This sounds like the end of a chapter. It ends the assassinwar and hints at new adventures to unfold. Please keep going.

Ah, a Nerevarine story. It's always interesting to see how different fan fic characters act in the MQ. I'd love to see the assassin approach to becoming Nerevarine. smile.gif

Black Hand, the Post Machine, has stricken gold again! Now it's time to see how skeptical Sethyas thinks of this. Makes good sense to me if he was; very believable reaction.

Can't wait to see how he deals with this.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say....... YES!

Hehe, it's good to know the Main Quest plotline sometimes! Though you could totally prove me wrong if you wanted to...

Ohwell, I'm eager to see Sethyas reasoning for his potential choice.

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 15 2006, 06:22 PM

Oh, absolutely. Think about the loot! Tombs are always filled with loot! biggrin.gif

Um, okay. Maybe not everyone gets thrilled at the thought of some looting. smile.gif

Damn! That was a lot of loot! Next time I'm at that burial carvern, I gonna search it more thoroughly...

Lucky Sethyas... already has a quarter of a glass armour set. Solid work as usual!

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 16 2006, 10:16 PM

Ah, the good old treasurehunting spirit. Bring on the loot. Oh yeah! biggrin.gif

How about covering glass armour in a dark cloth?

Funny thing with me is. I always collected loot but I never sold it. I just dumped it at whatever was my current base of operations. So money problems were very real for me. smile.gif

Hey, I remember that cavern. I unfortunately never passed the Dremora though. My Redguard was only level 8 at the time. sad.gif But I shall return and my vengeance shall be sweet! (And rewarding. Oh loot, come here darling! laugh.gif )

Posted by: minque Aug 20 2006, 04:14 PM

Ahh very good.....and accurate! I actually "lived" through that part in the game once more.....excellent writing!

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 20 2006, 07:56 PM

It took me forever to find that crypt in Ibar-Dad!! I thought I had to levitate by some of the ruins within the cave. I then noticed the alternate path in the swimming area... grr that area was annoying! But all the goodies was worth it.

I also noticed that you're giving me free advertising! That's so nice of you! I'm totally flattered. wub.gif

Another inspirational update. I loved how you expressed Sethyas feelings at the first words the Wise Woman says then the potential chance he could be the Nerevarine right after ruining his relief. I wonder what his answer to his self asked question will be? I have a hankering it'll be a yes. tongue.gif

Can't wait to see the thought process for his decision.

I wouldn't want to be the Nerevarine (or the Blades) either if I was getting diseases and such. I bet those dreams are going to change his mind...

Nice bit of emotion and action. Gotta love the sucker punch with the dagger. tongue.gif

An excellent rendition of curing corprus. It looks like Sethyas is starting to believe... Just accept it all ready Sethyas!!! tongue.gif

Hmm, the inflitration of the Temple prisons is going to be right up Sethyas' alley. It's going to be thrilling to read!

Posted by: minque Aug 22 2006, 09:48 PM

Uhhhh......what a wonderful description of the encounter with corprus....and Divayth Fyr!!! oh my....that was by far one of the very best descriptions of that event I´ve seen!

ujaa.....continue please!

Very introspective moments in this update. I love Caius words for Sethyas; simple, yet powerful and with meaning. Sethyas is surely becoming the Nerevarine, cept I don't think the Temple would like him killing their Ordinators. Sometimes they deserve it though tongue.gif

I wonder what's going to happen next?

Well what can I say, it takes two to tango. tongue.gif Hopefully he keeps his wits about him and avoids meeting the Ash Vampire lurking underneath there, or be very prepared.

Another excellent update Black, I can't wait to see Sethyas approach to infiltrating Kogorhun.

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 29 2006, 09:11 PM

Ah, Kogoruhn. That place gave me the creeps. I needed every little boost I could get to pound down Uthol. Not to mention I got lost a couple of time. In the end, it was great fun and a good experience. smile.gif

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 29 2006, 09:13 PM

Soul trapping Uthol was genius! I never thought of doing that, despite hearing that the Ash Vampires were immortal basically. I simply figured, "I'm the Nerevarine! If I kill something it stays dead!"

I don't mind the length at all, it actually read quite fast, a sign of excellent writing goodjob.gif

I also never knew about the Dagoths having talking options such as the one you stated.

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 29 2006, 09:24 PM

I also never knew about the talking options, despite sneaking around a lot with the amulet of shadows. I guess I was too focussed on sneak attacks. (Critical damage with Chrysamere rocks! cool.gif )

And about the reviving, my opinion was: ,,Yeah, go ahead and come back. If I took you out this time, I'll take you out next time. Besides, I'm not coming back. I'm going straight for your daddy and split him in two. evillol.gif "

Sweet, I can't wait to see that.

I bet if I tried to soul trap each of the Ash Vampires, one of them would get caught in Azura's Star and then I would be like "Noooooo!!" because it's so useful for enchanters, and recharging stuff.

And no, I wasn't kidding tongue.gif

*Big sigh of relief* Woah, you had me nervous there, Black. You really built up the suspense when Sethyas went to grab the ring. Then you make it comical. Nice stuff tongue.gif

So now we truely know Sethyas is the Nerevarine. Hopefully he'll do a good job at it. I wonder how he'll react to the discussions with the Failed Incarnates....

Posted by: jack cloudy Sep 2 2006, 08:57 PM

As Mallet said. That was one good bit back there. Very enjoyable. I wonder how he'll respond to the ghosts of the failed incarnates. They want to load him down with loot after all.

PS: The Moon-and-Star ring is one of the crappiest I've seen. Sorry, but its enchantment isn't all that hot.

Ahhh....wonderful! You really put a lot of emotions into this.......and you describe the adventures leading forward in an almost tender way..

A masterpiece.......

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 3 2006, 07:16 PM

You convey emotion very well in this update. You can feel the weight put onto his shoulders. And it's heavy tongue.gif

I look forward to seeing how he deals with the Great Houses and the other Ashlanders. Though it is funny that they're called Ashlanders, since only half of the 4 tribes are found in the Ashlands...

Oh boy, Crassius, what a nutjob he was. One of the more interesting characters in Morrowind I'd have to say. I definitely felt a bit uncomfortable when he asked me to strip to support me as a Councillor....

Wonderful update yet again, Black. I wonder what's bothering Eno though...

Posted by: minque Sep 4 2006, 08:36 PM

Ahh you do a wonderful work with the dialogue, well known to us, yet full of twists and additions.....truly an awesome update!

Uh oh! Sethyas is having lady problems! Those can be the worse ones too.

That'll probably not be good to have on his mind when he's supposed to assassinate a couple of Dunmer who are possibly even more sneaky than Sethyas! Not to mention dealing with Orvas himself.

Oooo the stress and suspense!

Posted by: jack cloudy Sep 8 2006, 03:30 PM

Agh, now that is why I'm a loner. Who can understand women? (Well, I suppose that women understand women but let's not bother with the details here.)

Hmm, if there are people who are more sneaky than Sethyas, there is one hell of a good solution. Direct assault with heavy weapons and magicka. No one expects that from an assassin. Besides, the plantation could use some redecoration. Don't underestimate the power of angry Atronachs.

Posted by: minque Sep 8 2006, 09:11 PM

Oh nooo.....poor Sethyas!..On the other hand Ilmeni´s reaction is understandable....Nevertheless if Mr Velar plays his cards in a clever way....we might see a happy ending here....or????? ohmy.gif

Wonderful update!

Wow, this update was quite thrilling! I actually feared for Sethyas life!

I was wondering what scroll that possibly could've been. Personally, I thought it was going to be a restorative scroll, like one that would enhance strength and heal you. But the Summon Golden Saint Scroll was VERY satisfactory biggrin.gif

It also interesting that you choose the method where you actually convinced Dren to be on your side, rather than incriminating him. I forsee interesting events just because of that. I can't wait to see if you do anything with that.

First, save the world though goodjob.gif

PS - I do believe I get to start page 4 biggrin.gif

Posted by: jack cloudy Sep 13 2006, 08:39 PM

Wooot, Golden Saint ot the rescue! The converting Dren to your side was interesting. I've tried that myself but always failed. Somehow, this oversized Claymore would always end up in Dren's neck. I wonder how. huh.gif

Dren sounds like an ally you shouldn't trust. Be on your guard at all times. Also, don't take any sleeping pills. Trust me, they're not healthy. laugh.gif

Holy Muffin Blackie! This latest update was one of the finest I´ve read here on the boards! Your description of the conversation between Athyn Sarethi and Sethyas was wonderful. Yes I know I´m pretty fond of Redorans in general and Serjo Sarethi in particular, but still! I´m very impressed.....very...

Can´t wait to read about what will happen next!

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 14 2006, 07:53 PM

I sense that this chapter is drawing to a close from the last few updates. And it's doing so wonderfully, I whole-heartedly agree with minque about the conversation between Sethyas and Sarethi. It will be interesting to see the thought process behind Sethyas eventual choice.

I'm definitely looking forward to the next update(s)! biggrin.gif

SO my conversation with Athyn was better then my assassination of Yngling? Damn,...

(THe following was just a joke.)

Hehe..you see I´m a woman and a talkative one as well.....so I appreciate a good conversation when I see one! But of course your assassination was very well described! I just wanted to point out something else

So when´s the next update? Can´t wait!

Ahhhh......lots of emotions......*sob* Truly a wonderful description of Sethyas coming to the rescue of young Varvur. Continue please.....it´s just so great!

I think Sethyas will fit in just nice in the great House Redoran!

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 16 2006, 02:44 PM

Wow, I wish you could do that in the game (giving the ring to Varvur), I wouldn't have to slaughter a bunch of guards that way. I think last time I only had to kill one at least.

Anyways, this update is great like every one you do Black. This one contained a wonderful display of emotion that really fit the situation. It was written beautifully. Continue whenever you please.

man Black Hand, I guess you just taught me how heros had to do grunt work before they could be heros.

Grunt work SUCKS!!! laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 17 2006, 04:10 AM

Wow, just reading about all that work makes me feel tired. I liked how you did both of Drulan's missions at once; much more believable in my opinion. It seems the Redorans, and the Imperial Legion really like to sent you running all over the place. The Fighter's Guild does too if I remember correctly, stinking Vas...

PS - I got the message so I'll stick around. More commenting for me yay!

Lovely! I particularly like the interference that Sethyas encounter...two loyalties, that is indeed hard, but sofar our hero has handled it just wonderful. I´m sure he´ll continue doing it......

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Sep 17 2006, 09:23 PM

Hehe, I guess I took off a little too soon, but I'll comment now biggrin.gif

Hopefully Sethyas won't become too conflicted between the two factions he resides in. So far, he has been lucky. The Oath Ceremony worked really well as well. Something different is always nice to read.

I wait to see what's next for Sethyas in anticipation.
