O.K. im in the ushiluku ancestrial tomb or w/e but i cant find the bonebiter bow and im at the very end of the tomb
go to the top of the enormous column, best by levitate, and you will see a door around the top that is the door you want, I personally would refer you to gamefaqs.com if you need a walkthrough, they usually have good ones, though it could take a try or two to find the best one.
Go through the Astral Burial chamber (where you entered) through to the Karma Burial and then the Laterus Burial. Follow the rock ledge all the way to the top of Laterus and into the June Burial. At the far end of this chamber part you encounter the Wraith of Sul-Senipul, a rather nasty little ghost, who has the Bonebiter Bow that you must retrieve. Kill it and take the bow
Make sure you take the bow immediately after killing the ghost - you click on the pile of dust to search the 'body'. Otherwise you won't get the bow at all.
If you have killed the ghost and not retrieved the bow, then you will need to load a previous saved game and do this quest again. Or ask Alexander for the console code to give you the bow.
well actually ive beat the main quest, i just beat it last night. i feel so proud of myself.
I think I need help. Not about the main quest, though.
I installed an alternate start mod, began rolling a character, all good so far. Got to the part when it asked which Starsign I'd like to select, so I chose Tower I think. But that's as far as I could get. There was no way to confirm this. No 'OK' button.
Screw that mod, that mod is history! Don't really need an alternate start really, do we? Not like there's a whole lot of tutorial for MW right? Doesn't take much time to start somebody new. I was really interested in starting from a different location. Not something I really need, though.
So the mod is gone. Back to Seyda Neen, staring at the first Dunmer in the game. Started somebody new. Gave her a name. Got outside the boat and picked a race, picked hair and face. Get inside the Census Office. Picked a Class. Got to the Starsign page. Picked Tower. But again, there was no way to confirm this. There was no OK button!
Obviously that mod screwed something up in the base game. Answer seems to be to Install the base game from scratch, right? Straight from the disc. Except when start to do this it says something which made it sound like installing would get rid of any Morrowind material on my gaming computer. I forget exactly what it said (I'm at work right now) but there was a message which made it sound like installing would uninstall everything else present Morrowind-related. So I just STOPPED right there.
I can't remember how this works. If I've got MW installed in a particular folder and want to reinstall, I can't just choose to do so in another folder, can I?
I'm of absolutely real help to you, since I've not touched Morrowind since it was new and shiny, and if memory serves didn't mess with modding beyond a home for my character. What Morrowind data do you hope to preserve, should you decide to reinstall? If it's only save-files, won't a new install recognize and load those saves, assuming they don't contain coding from a now-gone mod that simply must be present for compatibility? I know I can transfer saves without issue when I update DFU. Then again, my DFU is mods are almost wholly graphics improvements, which don't (or shouldn't) affect gameplay.
If that is indeed the case, find where those saves are kept, then make backups of them, stored in a "safe" area on your PC. If uninstalling the game deletes those saves, which it might not, you can restore your backups to their original location. But again, this is just me guessing.
I'm just worried that if I press YES that all the Morrowind folders (mods, saves, etc.) currently on my gaming computer will just *poof* vanish. Maybe I'm being paranoid, I don't know. I really don't remember how installs from disc work.
Anyway, I came up with an idea. I'll try installing on my auxiliary computer instead. At least I'll be able to see if it'll ask where I want to place these files.
Oh, and thanks to 1234King for starting this awesome thread. Ha ha
Thanks for your ideas, macole. Probably what I'll do later tonight is use my second computer (not for gaming, it's for "everything else") to install Morrowind to. Then I'll try installing again, and see what happens. See if the install-from-disc does indeed wipe out anything already installed.
Assuming I can just make a new folder path which does not disrupt the old one I should be good. Tomorrow it'll be rain in Maryland, which means ... guess?
Here's what I did. I installed MW on the computer I'm using now, and then copied all those files into a second folder called Morrowind 2.
When I tried to install a second time, the install wizard asked "This will uninstall Morrowind, would you like to continue?" I pressed Yes. This uninstalled everything from the original folder except the Data Files folder and the Construction Set.
However, everything in the second folder stayed intact. Nothing was uninstalled from there. Still, I'm pretty nervous about this. Even though I've got my entire Morrowind folder backed to an external drive, I'm still nervous.
Guess I'll give it a try, pretty soon.
EDIT: Phew, it worked! Got my OK button and was easily able to choose Fay's Birthsign. Thanks you all
