DOS games are great so here's a topic about it!

I admit; I made this topic mainly to get some help getting them to work on more modern computers like Windows XP and 7. I'm a bit tech savvy in general but not so much with DOSBox. The only reason I've played Arena is that the game came with the DOSBox already configured so I didn't need to do anything manually. Just plug and play.

Any and all help with this would be greatly appreciated! I don't know if there's a generic configuration that works with most DOS games or there's a site that has a load of games with pre-configured DOSBoxes (like Arena and Daggerfall) but it would be awesome if that was the case. My own searches have come up short.

To end this OP I'll list my favourite DOS games from the good ole days. Feel free to add your own!

CyClones
Duke Nukem 3D
Raptor: Call of the Shadows
Mortal Kombat 3
Wolfenstein 3D
Red Baron

Gog.com is my place to go to find old Dos games. They do all the work of configuring a dosbox session for you, and make it part of the game installer. So no work at all is required.

I spent so much time on the original Doom (back when it was shareware).
Diablo of course
My original copy of Mechwarrior 2 was for Dos. Same with X-Wing. But I eventually upgraded to Windows versions of both.
Heritic
Hexen
Steel Panthers
Dark Forces
Clive Barker's Undying
Blood
Links386
Pod

Where's Commander Keen? Enough of these new 16-bit games.

You gotta move on! Get with the times, grampa! biggrin.gif

Unfortunately they want moneyz and I don't have or want PayPal, nor do I want to pay by credit card. I wanna play DOS games, let me pay with cash! tongue.gif
