QUOTE(Lena Wolf @ Sep 24 2024, 06:15 AM) Low disposition.
I wondered about that, but *most* everyone I talked to had middling disposition when first talking to them. Then I tried to recreate the comment by wearing the same outfit Brenna had on when she first arrived in Skingrad (which consisted of a fur cuirass, coarse linen skirt, iron gauntlets/bracers, fur boots and a couple of bronze rings, one pearl, one topaz. Their exit farewell was normal. Just not sure. We did talk to an orc guy who called us āBreton trashā, so you know, absolutely normal Orc/Breton interaction, lol

Outfit has no impact on disposition in Oblivion. It's your factions, your fame and infamy, your bounty and your race, of course. Also, if you are diseased, and in particular if you are a vampire. Your alternative start mod (Arrive by Ship) could have assigned you some properties that meddled with that.

Oh ok, I thought I remembered reading something about individual clothing items having a stat that adds a number to an overall sort of āwell dressedā hidden stat that NPCs check and would address you differently based on how high or low this āwell dressedā stat was. I could have it confused with another game or just pulled it right out of my crazy head!

Or at least, Oblivion does it to a much smaller degree, if it does it at all. I never noticed any difference what-so-ever based on clothes. But this is the bit coded inside the engine, so we can't just look it up!
