Odd thing to debate. Nothing wrong with thinking ahead, though they're not particularly thinking of others.

Supermarkets and toilet-paper sellers should raise the price of toilet-paper for all those who buy in bulk. A bit of price discrimination could be funny.

well it was kinda odd and I wanted to see what some people would think about it...

Good gosh, people nowadays. But its just like when we have a hurricane here. My family buys one of those 36(?) roll toilet paper pachages a month and were good, but during a hurricane (which even with its after effects) that lasted a month people were buying 3-4 of those huge toliet paper packages. lol and they were like family's of two or three, I got 5 in mine..

lol another thing, milk.. Why would you buy milk when its 80-90 degrees average outside and a hurricane is gonna knock out your power for a week? They buy it by the truckloads...

NAFTA should be completely disbanded. Free Trade is simply an excuse for corporations to exploit people in other countries. here arw a couple stories.

In one of the central american countries (I'm spacing) the government's budget was running very thin, and they didn't know what to do. A corporation from San Fransisco offered to buy their water system so they wouldn't have to pay for that utility. This corporation privatized water and tripled its price. People could not afford water. What did they do? Massive revolts. They ended up breaking into the water storage and seizing compelte control over their irrigation systems so they handed out water to people. San Fransisco company brought it infront of NAFTA, trying to sue the country's government for the money they would have made. They lost, luckily.

A corporation in Canada invented a type of chemical you put in your gasoline that is supposed to make it run cleaner. It doesn't, it produced less smog but damages the water systems, plant life, and the entire ecosystem. California legislature banned the chemical from being used in California gasoline, so the corporation brought it in front of NAFTA trying to sue California for all the money they would have made. California lost, and now is stuck with tens of millions of dollars to pay because they didn't want a harmful chemical into their ecosystem. That's a less extreme form of trying to sell nuclear missiles to terrorists, and then when they get banned from selling them, they sue the country.

Bottom Line: We should support fair trade, equal wages, worth of the worker, socialistic ideals about the working class, and not these blood suckers who are exploiting them.

I totaly agree with you DoomedOne, not only does it do those thing you've mentioned but it also allows company's to move out of the US to mexico, take advantage over them, and return sell it to the US. Which I actually hurts it more because of the lack of jobs...

Those company's were doing fine here in America, do they really need more money?

I don't want something to just look nice, to me it has to serve a purpose. Also, I have never associated myself with any political spectrum. If you ask my friends they will assure you I'm a total hippy though. Anyway, something is fine to look nice, but in my opinion aesthetics comes from usefulness. I find the ecosystem, and the natural, unpaved environment to be the most useful thing we have. Like wise it is the most beautiful. I find art to be an attempt for a human to recreat the beauty of many useful things.

So, in my opinion not only are SUVs ugly, but they are gas guzzeling, useless, and harmful to people and the environment. You want your family to be safe then drive a volvo. I know a girl who drives a humvee (I like to call them re-formatted chevy tahoes, because they are) and her excuse is that her doberman needs room to play. My next question to her was where she kept her Barret .50 calibre.

It takes an extremely self absorbed personality to buy into an SUV. They like the feeling of commanding power, and since they obviously are too insecure to do so in real life they chose to hide behind a Ford Annihilator or whatever design they have out now.

What really makes me laugh if the suburban SUV. At least with others you can think, "Well maybe they dream of going off road." A suburban SUV is basically three times as expensive, twice and dangerous and twice as environmentally harmful as a minivan. Aside from that there is no difference.

Well then that girl was just an idiot, who would pay 60k for their dog to ply around, to me thats being to enviro freindly...

I would buy one because it looks nice, I don't think it would make me "powerful" or whatever you said. Your steroetyping, just because someone likes something doesn't mean there trying to make up for something else!

lol, that saying the rich are rich not because thats how they want to be but because they don't want to look poor...

Because it looks nice is the worst excuse I've heard.

Form = function

Form is function

I think they look ugly as sin, but that's because I see their function completely differently.

And no, that's not a very good analogy. Rich people does not mean someone is trying to make up for something. They're rich, what do they have to make up for? personally, I think only insecure people would drive such an ugly, gas-guzzling rig.
