Here you go McB, but there are really two versions, the one most everyone sings now but there is also a Scottish version that is mostly the same, except you sing it with a Scottish brogue....(actually a few of the words are different, lol)
Should old acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind ? Should old acquaintance be forgot, and old lang syne ?
CHORUS: For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne, we'll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne. And surely you'll buy your pint cup ! and surely I'll buy mine ! And we'll take a cup o' kindness yet, for auld lang syne.
We two have run about the slopes, and picked the daisies fine ; But we've wandered many a weary foot, since auld lang syne.
CHORUS We two have paddled in the stream, from morning sun till dine ; But seas between us broad have roared since auld lang syne.
CHORUS And there's a hand my trusty friend ! And give us a hand o' thine ! And we'll take a right good-will draught, for auld lang syne.
Don't ask me how I REALLY know the words, just know that I won the bet, always a good thing.
To each of my new friends, the past year here with you has been a joy without definition. I do hope each and every one of you has the most incredible year yet! Thank you all for your words, both in your stories and in my small contributions to Trey's. So have another cup of kindness my friends and I'll have a cup o'mine, for Auld Lang Syne.....
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!
