Chorrol.com _ Older Games _ What Is Your Favorite Mw Armor?

Posted by: Faldwin Oct 2 2005, 04:57 PM

I am planing to make an uber mod but I don't know what kind of armor to use. Any opinons on the best weapon types would be great too. Let me know if I forgot any types of armor. If there is any good armor mods out that only require MW, (because that is all I have) I would love to know about it. I can't get the official Bethesda adamantium armor mod to work so please don't reccomenend that.

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Oct 2 2005, 05:16 PM

heh heh well I forgot about the other ones..... I like Orcish.... or glass.

alot look cool thought its not fair!

Posted by: Alexander Oct 2 2005, 07:16 PM

I've added a few choises there wink.gif

And voted for Imperial Templar smile.gif

Posted by: ShogunSniper Oct 3 2005, 11:53 PM

ebony baby!!!!

Posted by: Aki Oct 4 2005, 03:42 AM

Iron.

Iron simply rules as far as looks good.

Bonemold is also nice, but Iron, Iron PWNS. biggrin.gif

Posted by: DoomedOne Oct 4 2005, 06:59 AM

I liked the snow-wolf.

Posted by: Intestinal Chaos Oct 4 2005, 03:57 PM

Honestly... chitin. No greaves or helmet though, and blue pants. That describes Gerrit alright.

Posted by: Wolfie Oct 4 2005, 04:21 PM

I like Imperial Templar the best of the options given, but i think Nordic Mail looks the coolest biggrin.gif

Posted by: Zelda_Zealot Oct 5 2005, 11:25 PM

I would vote but my faves ar missing. But seeing as my faves or unique items I guess I will have to go with Glass.

I can do unique armor as long as it matches with the rest of the armor. If you can tell me the ID in the CS that would be great and I'll look at it.

All righty, just give me some time to go and find them.

Posted by: b_sinkus Oct 8 2005, 03:09 AM

I just love Daedric armor. It may weigh a ton, but that damn shield looks awesome.

Posted by: Nashi_Tai Oct 13 2005, 12:46 PM

Indoril RULES!! And I just luv Ordinators. wub.gif they look sooo cool. I only wish the female armor looked as cool as the male armor, indifferent.gif and that they wouldn't get so pissy when a wore the cuirass... (sigh) at least I can't see the silly druege cuirass under my robe...

Posted by: Toroabok Nov 11 2005, 07:30 PM

glass is pretty cool, but daedric owns all! biggrin.gif i think if u made a mod, daedric would be best. well...is he going to be kind of shady? like evil or sumthin? if hes powerful then daedric is the wai to go. especially if hes a dark elf.

Posted by: Faldwin Nov 12 2005, 01:31 AM

It is just going to be a general uber cheat mod with a chest of uber stuff in Seyda Neen I just want to make it with a type of armor that people will like.

Posted by: Wurlon Nov 13 2005, 07:13 AM

Bonemold!

I never liked how glass looks...

Posted by: Freaky Freddy Nov 13 2005, 02:08 PM

Daedric is the coolesest armor.
i like the red combined with the black... it has some demonic feeling...
But i dont like the daedric shields, instead i would wear an ebony one
But to be honest, i didnt know wich one to choose: ebony or daedric...

Posted by: Toroabok Nov 16 2005, 07:52 PM

where do you get a daedric shield? wacko.gif i need to find one. oh, and wer can i get sum daedric helms? all i have is daedric face of inspiration... sad.gif

Posted by: Soulseeker3.0 Nov 16 2005, 10:40 PM

Sheilds: Golden saints carry them and I think you can find one or two around. not sure though.

Helms: If you don't mind massacuring Gaost gate there are a couple of people that are wearing them in that place.

Posted by: Kiln Nov 16 2005, 11:38 PM

I like steel the best, it just seems to have a young knight look to it that looks more noble than the other armor types.

The steel helm looks weird, go iron!!! biggrin.gif

Posted by: Pisces Nov 21 2005, 12:12 AM

I like Chitin the best, especially for a mage wearing a robe and those stylish pauldrons. For a warrior Orcish is pretty cool because it reminds me of a samerai.

The pauldrons were my least favorite part of the chitin.

My fav is the high ordinators armor

it has a kool skirt:)

Posted by: jack cloudy Feb 24 2006, 09:25 PM

It's a tie between steel and Dwemer(Dwarven) for me.
I made my own Uber mod and stuck a barrel filled with the stuff next to Foryn Gilnith, but I keep seeing barrels filled with that stuff popping up all over the place. And a shopkeeper was trying to sell me a one-handed ultralight Dwemer Claymore to me the other day. (Go ahead, make a one-handed Claymore. It looks so cool with a shield. cool.gif ) So be careful with your mod.

Now for the armour, steel cause it has this knightly look. And Dwemer cause it makes you look like some kind of robot or Centurion. cool.gif Too bad its protection is a bit outdated. Actually, both of them aren't great protectionwise.

Posted by: Dark_Elf_ Feb 26 2006, 02:45 AM

There ain't nothin' better than Bonemold. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Darkwing Feb 26 2006, 10:23 PM

I realise its not in the poll so i apologise but i really did quite like the dark brotherhood armour (apologies to those without expansions).

Most of the armour pieces of the other poll types were really nice - although to be quite honest i really didn't like the helms of any type of armour indifferent.gif

Posted by: Rohugh Feb 26 2006, 11:23 PM

I like glass armor for its lightness and sufficient AR, but I don't like the look of it (make me look like a green hedgehog!) so I always wear a robe over it, The Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw 'tops' it off nicely.

The same would apply to any armor - its all pretty ugly

Posted by: 1234king Feb 27 2006, 01:14 AM

O cmon its not all bad, dont be so negative i think the ordinators have the coolest armore because my guy owns and whenever i talk to a high ordinator its a free kill

Posted by: Rapp0ng Feb 28 2006, 02:31 PM

Daedric because it just looks so expensive and sinister.

It is the evil baddie armor. When you wear it you just get the urge to create daughters and then tempt thieves into a corpus tomb full of riches laugh.gif

Posted by: Curly_G_ Mar 2 2006, 06:03 PM

Daedric was my fav, too... but I loved most the expansion armour, but sometimes I just liked to wear Nordic Fur boots and gloves with normal clothes.

Posted by: xycolian Mar 5 2006, 03:16 PM

as far as status, looks, power, rareness, style, coolness, and intimidation apply, daedric is the way to go tongue.gif

you don't like any of the three daedric helms or the helm of oreyn bearclaw? blink.gif

i think that your expectations for helms is a bit high tongue.gif

Posted by: Ola Martin Mar 6 2006, 07:34 PM

EBONY!!!
It's so plain 'n nice
Love it.
I am not wearing armor from any of the sets, only an enchanted daedric tower shield, I put constant effect 45 strengt... I'm so strong, I love strength... biggrin.gif

I thought it meant that he wanted to see his beautiful face and hair....can't see that anime-style-spike hair with a helm on now can we?...he... I meant he....(lol)

Posted by: Tellie Mar 14 2006, 09:44 PM

I never use full sets of armour, as I often drop out helmets...simply beacuse I dont think that helmets look cool in morrowind...and often I wont use gauntlets, pauldrons and boots, as the gauntlets are replaced by some nice theurgist gloves...the pauldrons go away simply beacuse it look like [censored] when you use one of the niiice theurgist robes, and the boots are replaced by the "shoes of the swif courier", another theurgist mod item.

But I definately love the ebony most, the black colour, and the golden trims, just gives me a feeling of beauty yet power...

Posted by: Taillus Mar 14 2006, 09:49 PM

Yup, it is all about Ebony for me but with Taillus I was using a modded black and silver set smile.gif I then removed the chest plate, and all armor on his left arm. No helm and no shield. Looked pretty bad [censored] but of course that would change when I left towns until his level was through the roof.

I will probably end up with ebony in Oblivion too. It looks quite nice. But I have yet to see all of the different types, I may change my mind.

Posted by: Sunboom Mar 29 2006, 06:02 PM

Glass _0_. I almost become horny by looking at it.

Whoa there, TMGDI (to much god-damn information)

Anyhow, my favorite Morrowind armor was Daedric.

Posted by: Magefire Apr 5 2006, 12:38 PM

Agree with Rohugh, glass armour under a nice robe!! Pity one can't do this in Oblivion.

But why no mention of Dark Brotherhood? Granted it looks evil (especially the helmet) but it is very strong for a low level character and costs nothing!!! My current character got a set at level 1 and is happily kicking spotted owl around Vvardenfell.

My first character used mostly glass but had the cuirass of Saviors Hide, fists of Randagulf and Masque of Clavicus Vile - does anyone wear total sets of anything? A mix of armour and armour weights sometimes is the most useful.

Posted by: treydog Apr 14 2006, 05:57 AM

Glass- followed by chitin. Part of the joy of glass is the time spent assembling a full set without cheating- similar to Daedric and ebony.

Posted by: Dreamer Apr 18 2006, 10:10 AM

The Indoril armour or the Royal Guards armour (from Tribunal) are my favourites lookswise.

Posted by: evil_ducky Apr 28 2006, 09:18 PM

are you kidding me?? nono.gif despite its bad helmet and suckiness stats-wise, dwarven looked totally awesome. That was one of the first armors i got and i wore it until i found a suit of glass becasue it was totally awesome

Posted by: Khajiit Overlord Rainer May 5 2006, 04:27 PM

Well, for looks Rainer must say Her Hands Armour.

But for looks AND power, definately daedric.

Posted by: Ibis May 14 2006, 05:19 AM

I voted for Glass Armor. It is just so beautiful, I'd wear it in real life if it were possible. I may be influenced by living in Winter Park, Florida where we have the largest collection of Louis Tiffany artworks. There is an entire green glass chapel at the Morse Museum here ... not just the altar and candlesticks, but the chandeliers, the doorway lintels, the cornerstones of the room ... it is absolutely astounding.

The glass armor is so much like emeralds. But I also have mods of red glass, violet glass, white glass, black glass, saphire glass ... I suppose that I collect it. Not a conscious choice, just something that happened because I like it so much.
===============

I also like the Dwarven alot except for the chunky boots.

Posted by: I_am_elf_hear_me_roar Aug 11 2006, 05:00 AM

put dark brotherhood! but my #2 is Bonemold nono.gif

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 11 2006, 05:06 AM

Since the poll is going strictly by looks, I picked Orcish. It's got the greeness of glass, some purple (greaves), and some scary looking pieces (tower shield, helm) much like the daedric armor. And huge pauldrons are always stylish if you ask me.

I would go with Ebony for looks and power if that was the poll, just the gold and black and the sleek look of it works really well, Just that the helms for it aren't all the great.

Posted by: I_am_elf_hear_me_roar Aug 11 2006, 05:14 AM

BONEMOLD, WHO AGREES

Posted by: I_am_elf_hear_me_roar Aug 11 2006, 05:35 AM

METAL MALLEET ARE YOU AND I THE ONLEY ONES LOGGED ON? blink.gif

METAL MALLET ARE YOU AND I THE ONLEY ONES LOGGED ON? blink.gif

Posted by: jack cloudy Aug 11 2006, 10:42 AM

I'm still a Dwemer nut. I just love the big bulky pieces it has. Add an Ebony helm, and I go all. ,,Uber Dwemer Centurion is back to avenge the lost race. Fear and suffer, mortals!" biggrin.gif

But my absolute favourite armour piece looks-wise is the Lord's cuirass. Too bad it is unique and doesn't fit in the poll.

Also I_am_elf_hear_me_roar, it is common for only one or even zero persons to be logged on. And the caps aren't necessary. I've heard that it annoys some people so you might want to avoid it. smile.gif

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 11 2006, 05:52 PM

For unique armor, I would say a good looking set would be the Ebony Mail, with the Helm of Oreyn Bearclaw, Fists of Rangagulf, I guess the Ten Pace Boots (Boots of the Apostle are pretty ugly with the purply ting to them), and I guess I would go with ebony greaves and pauldrons to complete it. Hopefully you have the strength to carry all of that tongue.gif

Posted by: Kiln Aug 13 2006, 11:18 AM

I thought that glass looked pretty cool too but if you wore glass armor in real life it would be bad...I mean if the sword didn't kill you then the glass breaking would cut you to pieces. ohmy.gif

Lucky that Morrowind's Glass armor is made from Volcanic Glass gotten out of Red Mountain then, ay? biggrin.gif

Posted by: milanius Aug 28 2006, 10:05 PM

I can't believe I didn't vote in this by now.
Glass. Why ? People often talk and talk and then talk some more about joys of Ebony or Daedric armor, about how much protection these overly heavy pieces of armor offer... hello ? The best AR/Weight ratio of the game belongs to glass. The ONE and ONLY elite unit in the game [put in there just to annoy those Indoril rednecks and make them feel like they should - INFERIOR] utilises Glass. And finally, Glass armor pieces are much easier to obtain within the game, unlike Ebony or Daedric. So suck on that, Mr. Fyr ! tongue.gif

edit: Of course, I am only taking original MW into concideration, without expansions and mods. That discards High Ordinator armor which is interesting but still too damn heavy for my taste (that, and pauldrons look hillarious tongue.gif)

Posted by: The Metal Mallet Aug 28 2006, 10:20 PM

I think the poll was based on what armour looks the best. But yours reasons for the simply the most efficient armour is certainly correct. The AR rating for glass is quite excellent, though I forget is Stalhrim was just as good... I'll have to see sometime.

Orcish all the way!

Posted by: ugmung Jan 20 2007, 03:39 PM

glass for me. only because most of my characters are based on light armor and unarmored. i say its the strongest light armor and maybe the lightest?

Posted by: Daedroth Feb 24 2008, 09:33 PM

I like heavy armour. Daedric was my favourite before because it protects good... But now I prefer Ebony, I feel so evil when I wear Daedric - too evil.

//Daedroth

Posted by: minque Feb 25 2008, 12:32 AM

Glass looks very pretty on a woman, don't you think? Shiny and neat...yummy!

Posted by: LadySaira Feb 27 2008, 04:40 PM

Netch Leather is good. Why buy expensive shiny armour, when cheap simple leather is quieter and cheaper to fix, hmm?
