Chorrol.com _ Oblivion _ Where Are You Today?

Posted by: McBadgere Jan 8 2012, 08:19 PM

Can't find an original post for this so here's a new one!!!!... biggrin.gif ...

So, for those who're still in or coming back to Cyrodiil...(Or even Tamrielic lands that simply aren't Skyrim wink.gif )...Where are your characters today?...

Brought Nordy-Boy (Farn Olfsson) out of his comfortable semi-retirement, grabbed his trusty steed - Binky - and went for a run in an empty section of his map...This being around Bravil...

He cleared out a Necromancer infested Ayelid ruin called Wendlebeck and found a statue in the middle of it, so I may do the Collector quest as I've never done that one...

And then we went through a Goblin fort just down the way from it...Much fun with Goblins!!... biggrin.gif ...Can't remember what the place was called...

Next time, I shall have Nordy-Boy sell the stuff in Imp-City and then I shall go find the cave that showed up on the compass around the fort...

I have missed this game so much...It's way better than Skyrim...And yes, thanks to mALX and Subrosa I'm actually tempted to get the PC version...And *Feels slightly dirty* I may download some Mods...*Runs off to shower*...

Ach...

Binky! What a wonderful name for a horse! Speaking of names, be careful calling your guy Nordy-Boy. That's how I ended up with Bowgirl. tongue.gif embarrased.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: McBadgere Jan 8 2012, 08:46 PM

It's funny really, Nordy-Boy (what became Farn in me story) has attained legendary status for us here, as he's the one that did pretty much everything first. However, we've discovered that he's actually several levels behind the others!...He's "Only" level 35...But he's a legend...Hence why, in KOTN Farn's pretty unstoppable...

Binky is the name of Terry Pratchett's Death character's horse in the Discworld novels...So when I bought my Anvillian horse, he also became Binky... biggrin.gif ...And my Ezio Auditore character in Assassin's Creed has Binkchesco... biggrin.gif ...Can't remember what Altair's was...Problably Ibn Al-Binks... biggrin.gif ...

Yay, thanks for making this!!!!!
And..hehe Binky...best name EVA
As I posted on the other forums; Jericho has been trying to learn magic from Raminus(who has a really cute smile according to Jericho)..of course Jericho is rather slow, him being illiterate has slowed the process, but Raminus is nice and really patient.
Although Jericho can cast a small flare spell that you can light a candle with, without setting himself on fire, YAY!

Artemis has been exploring Azura's Coast, just east of Vivec. She made a ton of money clearing out Ald Sotha, Bal Fel, and Mzahnch. Enough to buy a Daedric Bow from the fletcher in Vivec and still have 20k leftover. She just made it to Tel Branora, and is hoping to find someplace to unload the Daedric wakazashi she just found in a shipwreck.

Oops, wrong game.

I've re-edited the first post for you m'dear...Lets face it...The thread's not gonna get overburdened with posts biggrin.gif ...

Morrowind sounds so...Tres Exotique... laugh.gif ...

So...Daedric wakazashi...Wassat?...

Nordy-Boy Farn equipped himself with much the same gear as the other Knights, courtesy of the Arcane University...Enchanted ebony longsword, umpteen created Feather spells...Y'know the stuff... biggrin.gif ...

Now he and Binks are back at the Bravil gate...

Oh what else did you equip? *Is curious* Jericho is equipped with the Imperial Armor with the imperial shield and a silver sword (still unenchanted)

I would ask Nordy-Boy to take Jericho with him, but Jericho will probably end up setting both of them on fire...hehe you know how kids are when they are trying something new. biggrin.gif

Jerric is in the Oblivion Gate with the dead horse, lost in the damned caves. It’s my fault, of course. I used to keep track of which way to go by looking at the bodies, but now he can’t put a foot down without stepping on a Xivilai or Daedroth. I’m going to make some tea while he (sigh) repairs his gear.

ETA: He's out! And now he has another nice Strength-enhancing Sigil Stone. smile.gif The Gate opened right outside Goblin Jim's Cave, so there's quite a pile of goblins, wolves, and assorted daedra in the grass.

First off, Binky is the cutest name I've ever heard for anything or anyone !!!! I love it !!!

Maxical is in the "Academy for Assassins and Mercenaries" mod I made - trying to figure out why the "students" (NPC's) aren't following their schedules for training.

Shivani is in the Imperial Bridge Inn watching a naked, pink-footed Jauffre guzzle ale and read a book he isn't holding. Occasionally Jauffre leaves the bar stool to kneel down and pray in front of the dias he is supposed to be preaching at. An experiment gone wrong, don't ask, lol.

Er...Nordy-Boy is in all Ebony Armour enchanted with strength or the nice feather boots he found ages ago, except for his helmet which is Dwarven and enchanted with breathe underwater...He has the Escutcheon and now the enchanted ebony sword...I've resisted going and getting him the Crusader armour because in me story, he doesn't wear the KOTN stuff either...

Unless you want to change the sword's name or need an enchantment of some sort on it, the silver sword is fine without isn't it?...Kills ghosts does it not?... biggrin.gif ...

Nordy-Boy is not the greatest travelling companion...Doesn't talk much to strangers...But if you hang around him long enough he's much fun...He is married with a kid so he can't be all bad... biggrin.gif ...However...If you do travel with him...You will always come back alive...He really is that good...*Bows down to Nordy-Boy...Who walks off...*...

Posted by: McBadgere Jan 13 2012, 04:55 AM

Nordy-Boy looked at his map and decided to head precisely thataway *Gestures*...After much swimming and running he chanced upon a cave called Bedrock Break...Successfully resisting the urge to bang on the door shouting "WIIILLLLMAAAA!!!" he went inside...

Therein he discovered the Cyrodiilian branch of the international bear/Spriggan/rat gang of precious jewel thieves...Well, as the cave was filled with said creatures and every chest had much gold and at least one jewel, what else could it be?...Nordy-Boy was also impressed with the bear's ability to build and light a giant fire in the main ante-chamber...Interesting...

He dispatched the head of the gang Will o'Thewisp and took his hoard of enchanted shortsword, shield of shield and...Precious jewels...

Having exited the cave, he then ran purposefully over there...-ish... and found a cave under a waterfall by a lake...Called...Some words...Yes...He went inside and discovered a zombie...So he killed it...
Yes he did...
TBC...Maybe... biggrin.gif ...

The silver sword is very useful at killing ghost, but Jericho is scared of ghost so we don't go anywhere near them tongue.gif...then again he is also scared of Deadra...which is kinda ironic.

For some reason I can imagine a huge awkward silence going on if they both meet, Jericho is rather shy, he tends to always try to please people, on the rare moments that he gets mad, watch out! Hehe tongue.gif
Well if we will always come back alive then Nordy will be the perfect companion, I mean Jericho LOVES coming back alive!

Leaving Gertrude behind, Nordy walked deeper into the ironically named Leafrot Cave. Not really finding much in the way of chests...Unless you count the exposed ones thrust at him by Yasmin, McWraith, Kevin, Derek, Abigail and Muff...(Don't ask)...He left...

Walking some more he found himself by a ruined fort. Checking his Pip-Boy...No...Wait...His map...Yes...He discovered he was by one Fort Redwater...

Gertrude, besst name eva for a decomposing zombie, and you can just go "Bad Gertrude!" and hit her with a rolled up newspaper when she tries to eat you.

Nothing much at our end, Jericho just ran away crying and screaming at the top of his lungs when a ghost got a hold of him. Poor dude sad.gif

Lol to both... biggrin.gif ...Back in the day I couldn't think of a name for him, so I called him...Robert...But, in time honoured tradition, it got changed to his nickname as the gaming went on...

While in the shop in Bravil, Nordy-Boy found himself frowning at the shopkeeper Nilawen thinking to himself - Geez, hark at you Mrs Robinson! G'way!...I'm a married man y'know?...Sheesh...

So, leaving he looked at his map again and decided...Yes, over there again...

Finding himself outside Redwater Slough he wondered A) whether there was too much Iron in the water around here, and avoiding smileys he decided on D) if Slough was pronounced like Sloth or like the UK dumphole...With an Ow...Then he thought...I don't actually care and went to kill something...

Finding himself confronted with Boris the Vampire "I vant to drink yrr Blood!" he leaned back against a wall with his Ebony sword in hand. Nordy found himself thinking, Didn't we just leave this party?...

Shrugging he began his Cleansing of the Vamps...Good name for an album that...Or a Goth Band™...Or a holistic cure...*Frowns*...

One Sascha, Dimitri, Pavel, Mischca and Janet (no relation) later, Nordy ran into some ponce in red leggins...Feeling disgusted on behalf of the entire male population, he removed the head of the Vamp that declared himself as being Hindaril...Nordy wasn't sure of this...He raised an eyebrow...More like HerDaria...

Later, at Kindred Cave Nordy found himself confronted by Necromancers™ (bum-bum-buuuummm)...Upset at the Nordy's suggestion that the robes did in fact make their bums look big, they decided to hurl fireballs and zombies at him...

Watching as a zombie flew over his head whilst wishing him a good day, Nordy thought that at least this was actually a decently educated enemy...Which he then mercilessly slaughtered...

Finding much in the way of Gold™ and Jewels 'nd Things™ he felt pleased with himself...He removed hisself from the cave and skipped his way into the day...

New character: Redguard Scout.

Darian picked up the cutlass and examined the blade. Decent steel, well kept, and familiar balance. It would do.

“That your sword, lad?” The Imperial City Guard’s accent sounded appalling, and his nasal tone insulted the ear. Darian supposed he would have to get used to it.

It’s mine now, he thought. “Yes.”

The guard looked him over. “You’re not injured?”

Little thanks to you. “No. I appreciate your assistance.”

“Protect and serve, that’s what we do. These pirates have been a nuisance, and now they’ve finally stepped over the line. We can’t have them robbing citizens right in our Imperial City. I’ll need you to come with me when I fill out the report.”

Not a chance, thought Darian. “Of course. I’ll just get my things, if you don’t mind.”

Darian was tempted to check the Dunmer’s pockets while he retrieved her belt and scabbard, but he carried enough shame already. He wanted a fresh start, and now he had it. He left his past behind on the docks of Rihad, and now he was free of possessions as well. Being robbed would not make him a thief. It didn’t bother him that these were not the brigands who had robbed him.

The midday sun warmed his head as he waited for a crowd to gather. The city loomed at his back, glistening with promise. It would have to wait. Darian wanted silken robes and a heavy purse before he entered the center of the Empire. Though so far it seemed that Cyrodiils preferred to dress as peasants.

The guard turned to speak with an arriving officer. Darian slipped into the crowd.

He wanted to see the Great Forest, but the Gold Cost also beckoned. Either way he would need provisions, a bow, and coin to rent a bed until he got his bearings in this green land. A map would also be useful. He shortened his stride to blend in with the other pedestrians. His eyes went to the great stone bridge. It might take the rest of the day to get across Lake Rumare.

“You move like a pregnant cow!”

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/Darian-1.jpg stared at the woman in astonishment. She advanced in staggering lunges, swinging the warhammer as she came. Her face was a mask of fury. You should see yourself move, he thought.

“Do you think you know me?” Darian asked, stepping back. “If so, you’re mistaken.”

She answered with another grunt and wild swing. A slash across her chest made her drop the warhammer, and another ended her life. Darian sighed. Now her furs were soaked with blood and worse, and carrying the hammer would annoy him. Still, he could ill afford to leave Septims lying in the grass. He braced the hilt across his shoulder and kept walking.

He had joined the Fighters Guild in Chorrol, but they had no work for new meat, as they put it. They did have an extra bow and several bottles of Tamika’s West Weald wine, to which he happily helped himself. The meals he had on the road were spare but merry: ham and cheese sandwich with wine, cheese sandwich with wine, bread with wine. Tonight he would only have wine, unless he made it to Cheydinhal.

Magnus sank in the sky behind him, gilding the grass and trees with light. Darian ignored his itchy sweat and empty stomach and simply enjoyed his surroundings. The tips of turrets appeared over the trees in the distance. Darian smiled. Perhaps someone knew how to cook Redguard cuisine in this city.

“You have your orders,” barked the orc. “Now move your carcass, boot!”

Darian hauled the weapons shipment to the mine, grumbling all the way. He entered this land a warrior, and now he was a pack mule in a company of thugs.

Eventually he reconsidered his guild mates. Keld of the Isles seemed pleasant if overly cautious, and Ohtimbar had at least a cultivated manner. However their Orsimer chapter head was a true barbarian in Darian’s eyes. It wouldn’t be hard to give the goblins an orc’s face as he killed them.

The team at the mine was happy to see him, and even more thrilled over the weapons he brought. How they happened to be on a contract unarmed was not mentioned. Darian earned more praise as they cleared out the mine. They offered him some friendly advice afterward.

“You would do well to use a shield, lad,” offered the team’s other swordsman. The mountains must seem young to this Altmer, thought Darian. He decided not to take offense.

“Good work, soldier,” the team leader told him. “The miners will be able to get back to work. You should head back to Burz and find another contract.”

“Bashing puny goblin skulls, crushy dead!” exclaimed the orc warhammer enthusiast, or at least it sounded something like that. Darian accepted his congratulatory thump without wincing.

Back at the guild hall, Burz had the payout but no new contract. For that Darian would need to travel to Anvil.

The Gold Coast, thought Darian, gritting his teeth under a smile. Nearly the other side of the province for a small pouch of gold. Wonderful.

By the time he got on the road, his attitude had improved. He would get to see a great deal of country this way, instead of getting bogged down in one location. He wanted to see Anvil anyway. And at least today he was wearing clean socks.

Posted by: mALX Jan 21 2012, 09:52 PM

The clean socks line reminds me of Forrest Gump, lol. Great segment !!

Posted by: Grits Jan 23 2012, 11:24 PM

Darian climbed the Gold Road in the morning sun, Anvil at his back. His time there had seen a five-fold increase in his reputation and two promotions within the Fighters Guild. Hard work and a humble attitude finally won his guild mates over. His natural charm and noble bearing had certainly left them unimpressed. In fact, the only women in Anvil who had shown any interest had then tried to kill him. Darian decided he should reevaluate his assets.

He would have plenty of time on the road to think. Azzan had sent him back to Chorrol for his next contract. Darian shook his head. Most of the new repair hammers would doubtlessly be used up on his boots.

A foul odor reached him from the bushes. Ugh, could that be the same highwayman who accosted him on the way into town? Surely something should have eaten it by now. Darian hoped he would not have to pass the bodies of all the bandits he had killed. Perhaps their ghosts would follow him. He shook off the chill that touched his spine.

Let them come, he decided. It would give him some practice with his new enchanted dagger. Plus, then he could sell their ectoplasm in Skingrad and buy some decent wine.

Posted by: SubRosa Jan 23 2012, 11:30 PM

Another episode of the DF! smile.gif I see he is working his way up the FG ladder, and has become disillusioned with the female population of Anvil. Darian held the dusty breastplate against his chest. Brusef Amelion must have been an extraordinarily well-proportioned man, he mused. His armor would almost fit me.

Tomb robbing was not on Darian’s list of noble activities, but damsels in distress had a way of changing the rules. Besides, he had entered with the resident family’s permission. At least the living representatives. Some of the dead had taken exception to his presence and risen from their slumber. Thanks to Darian they were all at rest again, though now in considerably smaller pieces.

Another traipse across the province yielded more cross words from Burz and not quite enough gold to sweeten them. Darian decided that Swordsman of the Fighters Guild was a rank he could live with, at least for awhile.

Where to go next? A person had to be somewhere, and Darian had the luxury of choosing.

Bruma, he decided. Warm fires, cold mead, and bards’ tales.

Jericho is on a long journey to Bravil, Lum gro-Baroth pointed him in that direction when Jericho wanted to practice Archery, apparently someone named Daelin is a really well known Archery instructor.
Who knows what will happen, lets hope that Daelin has enough patience haha xD

Maxical stepped into Bravil one day and Daelin was at the gate. He greeted her with such friendliness - and then walked down the street beside her saying a few things every now and then. One of those moments where it felt awesomely real. I've loved him ever since !!

I’m glad that Jericho is working on his skills. Next time he sees a ghost, he'll be ready! smile.gif

I love Daenlin from Buffy’s world. None of my characters spend much time in Bravil. If Jerric ever went into an archery store, he’d probably pull a bunch of arrows out of his pack that were in his inventory as a result of being shot and ask the proprietor if they looked familiar, because he would like to make a “return.”

ETA quick Darian update:

Darian walked away from Bruma with a criminal record, more regrets over attractive women, and a silver longsword that was worth every bit of the trouble.

What next, he wondered. Should he go look for that Breton in Cheydinhal? He almost had enough gold to buy a black horse, but not quite. He longed to swim in the Abecean again, even if he would be farther south than he liked. The road then, or the forest? As he considered his options, it began to snow.

Well the reason that he wants to train his skills up is because he wants to be just like the strong and stout Imperial Guard's,and he has seen them using bows to strike down villains, and being able to slay legions of Deadra with a single strike.

Why yes, Jericho has such a child like admiration for those men in Uniform.
I also love Daenlin in Buffy's world, and well I thought of no one else who will be better suited for Archery training biggrin.gif
He is getting no where near ghost though!

Haha I would love to "return" all those arrows from those pesky bandits tongue.gif

Lum gro-Baroth spoke the truth. If anyone can teach Jericho to use a bow, it is Daenlin! He took Buffy on as an apprentice when she was a mere eight years old. I so hope Jericho likes Bravil. smile.gif

Oh, and Buffy fully understands the attraction to those strong brave men in steel that help keep the wolves at bay. In her case, they represent everything she feels she is not.

Posted by: SubRosa Jan 28 2012, 01:33 AM

Daenlin also gave Teresa some valuable lessons in Sirya, the ancient Bosmer art of archery. He also gave her much to think about...

Posted by: Fawkes Jan 28 2012, 07:27 AM

Jericho's dream is to be a hero, and he views the Imperial Guards as hero's. smile.gif
And well he was picked from the streets by a man in steel who gave Jericho a push to fulfilling his dream.

And you guys are right about Daelin,he accepted Jericho as a student after Jericho started crying when he first denied him. tongue.gif The first day...was well, I guess you can "eventful" The casualty; 9 Bows, a bottle of Skooma, the Counts hat, several windows, and a half eaten mutton.

Darian fumed the whole way from Anvil to the Imperial City and back again. If the deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is, he thought. I should have kept saving for a horse.

He met Velwyn Benirus at the appointed place. The two of them proceeded into danger.

“You lead from here,” Velwyn hissed once they got inside. “Hopefully we can make it to the basement without too much fighting.”

“Right,” said Darian. He drew his silver sword, prepared for battle. “Wait, what did you say?”

“You lead from here. I’ll follow.” Velwyn looked like he might swallow his tongue.

Darian stepped back out onto the porch. Velwyn followed.

“So,” said Darian. “Do you suppose it would be bad to handle this another day?”

Velwyn raised his face to the Gold Coast sun. “Who cares?”

Darian walked down onto the patchy, dead grass. Velwyn followed. “Want to go to Cheydinhal?” Darian asked.

“Did you hear a noise?” gasped Velwyn, staring back at the manor.

Darian took that as a yes.

Nordy was racing his way east again from Bravil when he heard something that made his blood freeze...

"Haylp meh!! Haylp meeeehh!!" Came the cry from the Black Horse Courier's courier...

"Hooo, there's ak girl in troubles...Best gets me spinach!!...Ak-ak-ak-aaahhh!!!..."

Punching the can from below, Nordy-Boy opened his mouth, the green stream landed in his mouth and his limbs comedically grew to massive proportions...

His feet spinning he launched himself at the commotion.

Three wolves snapped at the feet of the horse.

"Ooooh," cried the girl, "HAYLP MEEHHHH!!"

Nordy rushed into the fracas...With maracas...In Caracas...

The first wolf flew out of the brown-ish blur, shaved till it looked like a poodle...The second had been turned into a hearth rug...And the third came out spinning like a tyre which sped off screen, causing the many noises of chickens, cows, elephants and gregorian chanting to be heard.

The girl floated up in the air crying "Awwwww...My hero..."

Nordy replied, "Aw shucks...Alls in a day's work...Ak-Ak-Ak-Aaaah!!!"

He continued on...

Here is a small excerpt from the first chapter of the Jericho fic tongue.gif

The Orc looked at Jericho with a rather hungry look. “You know, a handsome man like you will make a perfect husband for a adventure like me.”
Jericho felt his face turn red, while Nale just sighed.
“So what do you say little Imperial, after a hard days adventure, coming home to a handsome man like you and getting some comfort will be exactly what I need.” The Orc winked at Jericho.
Nale raised his voice, “The kid is with me!”
The Orc sighed, “Well…it was worth a shot.” he got up and headed for the door.

“Nale?”
“Yeah?”
“What does “getting some comfort” mean?”
Nale’s face turn bright red, “Nothing!”

Today in Oblivion my crew packed up and moved from the dying laptop to the new one. Everyone arrived safely. I tried out the default settings instead of the “your machine sucks” options, and it looks so much better! Everyone noticed that something was different.

Abiene pointed out that the circles under her eyes are now quite pronounced. Lildereth mentioned that her skin could be smoother. Darnand immediately checked his inventory to see if he picked up any interesting new spells. And Jerric tried to remove his pants.

I thought my children were demanding. No mods until I get the next update written! Good grief.

Congrats on the move to better hardware. I typically just take the hard drive out of my old box and put it in my new one when I get a new computer. If the new one has a faster hard drive, I copy it all over. If not, I typically leave it. Except of course for some programs that insist on being installed before they will run on the new box of course.

But with laptops that is not really an option. Unless there are external drive bays that will take a laptop drive? I never thought to look for those. I imagine you had to either copy everything to a thumb drive, or across your home network. If you have one.

You should be able to use the older computers hard drive as a external as long as you have the cable to connect it to a usb port on the new laptop.
I'm saying "should" though, because I do have my old computers hard drive as a external right now, but I don't remember if I could access the content of the old hard drive though :/

Ouch! Been there, done that too. In fact, we did that at work a few years back, when Daimler separated from Chrysler. We set up a sneaker network between the old Chrysler site and the new Daimler Financial site (which was actually being hosted in an EDS data center). The Daimler servers would be backed up onto a snap drive, then I'd take the drives out, put them in a locked case, take them to the new site and put them in another snap drive, and then the data was copied over onto the new servers. I even had bodyguards.

Hello everyone, I'm http://i936.photobucket.com/albums/ad208/xenaclone/saga.jpg. And I am currently somewhere east of Anvil, exploring an area of Cyrodiil nobody else has been in awhile. I'm looking for lost Ayleid ruins, forts, caves, you name it.

I travel with a wood elf (unofficial companion) named Erthor. He gets pretty annoying, but I tolerate him because sometimes I need his assistance, especially in dungeons.

Posted by: SubRosa Feb 24 2012, 08:51 PM

Yesterday Primrose found a poor, long lost dog who wanted to be reunited with his master. At first it did not sound like such a bad idea, until she learned that his master was a Daedric Prince (not to mention when she learned that he kept running into her and shoving her forward, blocking whatever path she wanted to take, and just all around being a major nuisance). But by then, she was stuck with the infernal mutt. Today she finally got his master's silly axe and returned it, and was never so thankful to get rid of that flea-bitten Daedric Dog.

I saw that too when I was making Nature Summoning. If it was not so completely out of scope of the mod, I would have included it. Then again, I suppose I could create a separate mod just it. Either as a summoning, or as a companion.

Having prayed at the Great Chapel of Arkay, McWylde left Cheydinhal and headed once more towards Imperial City.

Skirting the edge of the lake surrounding the Imperial City, and having disposed of a bandit and a minotaur, then several wolves and bears along the way...He spotted a cave to one side of the road and found himself sporting with some goblins in Shinbone Cave...

The Commander is now generally on his way to Bravil to train his Mysticism up a bit...

Jerric met Lucien after a quest bug gave him a murder (I speak of Jerric the PC Edition). He had no trouble cutting Lucian down in his tracks once the conversation freeze mode ended. No chasing required.

Lol. I can see Jerric being unhappy about being woken in the night by some idiot talking about assassins. WHAM, back to bed!

Hello everyone! smile.gif

Some of you here know my character Lothran very well already. But for those of you who don´t, here´s an introduction of him.
--------------

When imperial troops went into Morrowind to make it a province to the empire, Lothran did not like the lack of resistence from his fellow kinsmen. He hated the empire and what they did to his land so he decided something had to be done, but what? There was no point fighting a guerilla war in Morrowind as the numbers of soldiers would only increase. No, the best way is to take a stab at its core; in Cyrodiil!

Said and done. After a few months Lothran found himself in the heart of the empire and although he did like the land, he knew he had a job that needed to be done. He made his way past Cheydinhal without entering the town and after a night with heavy rain he finally reached the Imperial City. Soaked as he was he entered the first inn he came to, the All-Saints Inn.
He ordered up a few mugs of ale and sat down at an empty table, hoping to dry up a bit. He usually did not drink too much but he was now wet, tired and somewhat angry about the whole thing. If the empire had left his land alone he wouldn´t have been in this foreign land in the first place!

As it turned out, Lothran had one too many drinks that night. His tongue started to slip and he began boasting about his "true, heroic reason for coming to Cyrodiil", that he "wanted to bring it all down!"
A guard who sat not too far away heard every word the strange Dunmer said and before he really understood what happened, Lothran found himself in a cold, dark dungeon. And to top it off he was still wet! But at least his new clothes were dry, the clothes of a prisoner.
As he sobered up, Lothran began to think about his situation. What could he ever hope to accomplish here? His first night in a strange land and he was already in prison!

As he was slowly beginning to abandon his quest for imperial destruction, he could hear footsteps approaching his cell...

mirocu, what a delightful bit of Lothran lore from his early days! I knew of his unhappy arrival in Cyrodiil, but not the details of being imprisoned.

Posted by: mirocu Feb 9 2013, 09:27 AM

I´m glad you liked it! happy.gif I have posted Lothran´s story over at Bethsoft but I only did it once so maybe you just missed it. Anyway, he has really come to like Cyrodiil as you very well know and he has no plans to return to Morrowind or bring down the empire. He suspect that will be taken care of eventually anyway...

well yes i know this , but even then i didnt really KNOW him ..

Actually , i can proudly say i did what you did happy.gif

i played this char recently called stacy , she was an imeprial crusader ( ended up as an assasin but thats another story)

anway she spent over TWO MONTHS saving up enough money to buy one of those white horses , she had four jobs : waitress at flowing bowl , lighthouse beacon cleaner , cleaner at inventius household AND waitress job at counts arms on morndas /loredas

really fun and satisfying , i see how you can do it smile.gif

Posted by: mirocu Feb 9 2013, 09:39 PM

Sounds like an interesting character. I hope she was satisfied with her horse when she finally could afford to buy him smile.gif

Posted by: flowerboom Feb 9 2013, 09:46 PM

she was ...the horse died a week later after a boar savaged it

she had just begun working for the gold horse courier ....the death of her mare unhinged her , she finished her delivery to the inn....and ended up convicted of the death of 7 people

she ended up walking the roads drinking bottle after bottle of wine....then she join the dark brotherhood

in the end she did a turn around , during whodunnit she couldnt do it anymore , she couldnt kill anymore , she ran away with neville and the old woman , and they lived a lovely life together

She was a really intense character , affter her brutal slaughter i was so shocked...it was genuinly disturbing to see a nice normal chapel-going girl embark on a savage slaughter like that..

but we played on...she hit rock bottom...and in the end couldnt be evil anymore

one of the best avatars i have played recently

Posted by: mirocu Feb 9 2013, 09:51 PM

Wow, she really made a journey to the Dark Side™. Very interesting, but I´m glad she woke up and turned her back on all the killing.
Lothran knows how it feels to lose a four-legged friend, he lost his first Paint down the road from Bruma. Which is why he´s very careful with his second one, she rarely leaves her home stables...

Its so hard isint it ? seeing them like that...it was so sad , just like when her father died...she had worked so hard for it only for the gods to mock her and snatch it away ( in her deranged rage this was how she saw it)

she was even going on the pilgrimage , rarely have i played such a dramatic character.

Quite a bit of the draw for Buffy dimmed when her old Master Daenlin was unseated as the Champion Archer after seven straight victories. She understands there is one every year and its location rotates among the cities but, unfortunately, she's just had too many arrows in her quiver lately to participate. Would it draw the snow-haired dark elf down from his northern enclave. . . ?

Lothran just began a new patrol around Bruma. Several of his comrades had "called in sick" so Burd had urged him to fill in for the night. Pulling a graveyard shift is something Lothran does not mind, although things do tend to get a bit too quiet around those hours.

After a few rounds around town and an hour standing by the north gate, he could finally take a break in the barracks with some of the other guards. Come morning, he will make a sweep around the castle main hall before the Countess takes her seat and await the public.

Falador is sleeping at The Jerall view inn, which is BTW his favorite inn in Cyrodiil. He's planning to wake up around 4 am and explore an unknown Ayleid ruin north of Bruma. Perhaps it contains another statue for a wealthy Altmer whose personal bodyguard Matthias Draconis was found dead at his home some time ago...

He has a very detailed plan regarding the next few days... the day after tomorrow he's to perform an assassination at The Gnoll Mountain, after that he'll travel over Jeralls not only to get to Fanacas (a statue is there) but also to bring back memories of his first days in Cyrodiil. For those who didn't know, he arrived to Cyrodiil from Skyrim and he crossed the border successfully.

I did not know this. Or maybe I learned this months ago, but my memory did not grasp this correctly. Anyways, good to know.

For the purposes of this thread, here are all my extant characters in Oblivion:

Lady Saga is in the Imperial City, Market District. She's planning on heading northwest, in search of a couple locations Umbacano has given her.

Kahreem of Weet (that's Kahreem of Weet for those who can't read my silly colored text) is on the Waterfront, about to walk into Myvryna Arano's (sp?) cabin. Heironymus Lex is about to bust her for having the Bust of Llathasa hidden in her cabinet.

Ann Thraxx is also in the Imperial City, her sanity dwindling. I really need to return to Ann at some point.

I think I mentioned it only once on Beth forums, in first or 2nd update. But majority of Falador's past is a mystery even to me, except few basic facts and events, I don't know a lot about him from before and I prefer it that way. But he was always a 'little' disturbed. The most important fact from his past (which plays a major role in his RP) is his ultimate hatred for vampires (because of some event but I won't go into details), that's also why he hated his superior Vicente in the DB.

Ann's story is in the fanfic section, and I haven't been writing it since last summer. Last time I wrote about her I wound up going on a drinking binge! Her story stirs up some emotions I'm not prepared to always deal with.

That is hard to say, actually. You know how I'm always putting "Days Passed" info in my stories? Like it'll say Days Passed: 20 or whatever. This is so that in future stories it might be possible to have one char. see or meet another one.

Saga's game is at Day 175, Kahreem's at 42, and Ann's is probably only Day 12. I did not start recording this info until last summer (I think) with Ann's game, but it's possible two or more of them could be in the same place at the same time.

Actually, I am PRETTY SURE in one of Kahreem's stories, a 'mousy brunette' (some words like that) passed him by at one point during Kahreem's early days in the I.C. This would definitely be Ann. I'll see if I can find this. Later...

Not as much as Baa, Buffy or a few other respectable characters out there, but I´m quite happy we´ve made it this far! We reached this mile stone in the company of Aetherius and Humilis at the stables. Prior to that was a very nice journey to the westernmost daedric shrine and from there, up through Skyrim and eastwards, and down again by the Ayleid ruin of Rielle. By that time Snowflake was in pretty bad condition from slaying four ogres and a Storm Atronach (it wasn´t in full condition to begin with either) and was in dire need of repair, so it was time to head back to Bruma.

Upon entering the town gates, Fjotreid was visited but had nothing new to offer and after equipment had been repaired and polished at home, it was time for the Tack. A few incidents regarding Ongar developed but nothing out of the ordinary really. Right now Lothran is resting at the Fighters Guild, absorbing tonight´s adventures.

Hey, Lothran. How about a few hours more, mmkey? wink.gif

Woot! Congrats to dear Lothran! The Nordic elf just keeps going and going. Buffy and I are glad for it! happy.gif

Congratulations Lothran & mirocu!

I hope he keeps Bruma safe and Plundered mine cleared of goblins for many more hours!

Thank you, friends! I´m really glad Lothran and I can still tolerate each other biggrin.gif And I think Lothran has as much thoughts of retiring as Buffy and Falador happy.gif

Definitely!

For me it would be almost impossible to run another character at the same time, not only because I don't want to but becaue I use a lot of my little mods that influence Cyrodiil like Fort Caractacus which is completely modded and some other mods which could cause possible roleplaying conflicts.

You see, Falador got me cornered. unsure.gif

Lothran cleared Plundered Mine tonight, but he did it in an unusual way. He went in with Volendrung of all weapons and while armed with that, he couldn´t run or jump which proved to be quite a challenge! For me that is, not him wink.gif

http://i.imgur.com/drKXTCW.jpg spent yesterday exploring the river Ethe (from Unique Landscapes), stopping along the way to explore her people's ancient cities of Elenglynn and Wendir along the way. The river took her all the way to the round-ear city of Chorrol.

Today Lothran felt like enhancing the contents of his coin purse, so off he went to collect weapons and armor from fallen and soon-to-be-fallen bandits at Capstone Cave. Unfortunately, most of his profit went straight down Volanaro´s pocket as Goldbrand was in need of rechargement.
Luckily Lothran is a skilled alchemist so he went straight home and made some powerful potions to sell to Selena. He also sold her quite a few ogre´s teeth, and only those were worth a small fortune!

He also went and got the two beggars in town, Fetid and Jorck, one book each to read.

A guy I used to work with does this! He plays Call of Duty Black Ops and other games online, problem is he uses somebody else's WiFi to do so, so if he's in a 'death match' (or whatever) with other gamers online, there's always the possibility he'll lose his connection.

He told me that he also has Satellite TV (I think) but the Internet connection is not strong enough for gaming. So he usually winds up using this mysterious person's WiFi. I used to joke that he should go a door-to-door of his neighborhood. When he finally meets the person who has the good connection, he can then offer to pay some money; help out with the bill. This way, the connection will be 24/7!

There is a character in The Guild who does this. That is what gave me the idea. He went on a road trip once to "find himself", and was parking his van in people's yards to get the best connections to other people's wi-fi networks!

Today’s adventure produced two firsts for Jerric.

Thing one, first http://imgur.com/XUUJ0gX on the Xbox (for assault). Thanks a lot Erthor. After Jerric got out (surprisingly in Cheydinhal, the scuffle occurred not far outside the IC) Erthor seemed that he was prepared to http://imgur.com/940mpqk. After clearing a fort and another Ayleid ruin he still has his warhammer constantly equipped. It may be time to take him back home.

The other thing was Jerric’s first homemade spell thanks to the wonder of mage tallow candles. Snow Flurry: 5 frost damage, 10 feet, 3 seconds. Yay!

Posted by: Grits Mar 29 2013, 02:51 PM

Frostcrag is so neat! Jerric loves visiting there. It’s quite a hike, but worth it for the magical services. wink.gif Plus he can see Skyrim from there!

mALX, Jerric was pretty annoyed about this arrest! Erthor usually doesn’t hold a grudge when Jerric has to occasionally knock him out in a dungeon (when he goes nuts from charging into Jerric’s spell or swing like some kind of… Nord battlemage) but this time the little weenie ran straight to a Legion rider! When Jerric took Erthor home it was funny to see him talking to Adrienne with that iron warhammer still in his hands.

You’re right, mirocu. Snow Flurry even has little snowflakes in the pretty mist. happy.gif

Xbox Jerric had to fall back on some fire spells yesterday, though. He just hit level 5, and all of a sudden the Skeleton Guardians in the ruin he found (after he took Erthor home) were kicking his butt! I was quite alarmed thinking I had done a poor job in character creation again. I wanted him to bail but he just kept going, using up his detect life potions to avoid accidentally taking on too many at one time. His new scamp does not last long enough to put much of a dent in them. Luckily there were a lot of ghosts in there too. They are nice magicka rechargers for a Nord Atronach. Later I peeked at the uesp and discovered that those higher level guardians are a mistake in the vanilla game. What a relief! I thought he was going to start having big problems.

Jerric has surprised me by selling or leaving most of the unique items that he earns or finds. He doesn’t need them and just isn’t any kind of collector. If he ever decides on a place to live he might want to spruce it up a little, but for now he just takes what he needs plus a little for the spell fund.

Oh, he wants Buffy to know he’s learned how to open things with a spell. Now he doesn’t need to carry his Nord Skeleton Key any more (steel war axe). tongue.gif

mirocu - Wonderful to realize that, with spring soon in the air, Lothran is preparing to venture from his Nordic-elven city of Bruma!

Grits - What a fun update on Jailbird Jerric! I'm sure he'll find that using spells to open things will be much gentler on his manicure than his axe or those troublesome lockpiks. . . . Oh. . . wait, I forgot he uses his teeth as manicure instruments. Oh well, Lildereth would understand. wink.gif

Jerric is in a castle, but this time he is not in the dungeon! A chance meeting on the road led to a quick job for the Legion (during which he picked up a silver longsword, yay!!!), and the follow-up brought him before the count. Now he has another job to do: go talk to that orc. This could be interesting.

Also I checked to see where he might want to drop off a few things, since he’s now carrying two swords, a mace, and a fair amount of alchemy stuff.

At the Anvil Mages Guild, of course.

Ah dangit... Niamh, not Niahm. That's a minor fear of mine; mis-spelling character's names. *facepalms*

Posted by: PhonAntiPhon Mar 30 2013, 05:59 PM

Hey Renee, um actually it's Niamh's writing; which is terrible, frankly, and her raw spelling is cumbersome.
Books are very much a foreign country to Niamh and writing and indeed reading are rarely things she does by choice or very often. She finds them difficult and frustrating and her spelling reflects the rather obtuse way she views words.

Yes, she does have an irish sounding speaking voice, but her writing does not "sound" like her speaking; indeed as she points out, although she is taciturn generally, in speech she comes across much better than she does when she writes.
It is a source of irritation and annoyance to her that she has no aptitude for letters...

PS, Don't fret on the misspelling, it's easily done.

Posted by: Renee Gade IV Mar 31 2013, 03:12 AM

That's awesome, Phon. biggrin.gif I have a vampiress in Skryim who (when she was still a mortal) had been keeping a journal of sorts. Her hand-writing (spelling, grammar) was also awful; me attempting to recreate the writings of somebody who is schizophrenic, and needs to dip her quill pen into ink every so often.

Anyways, I am going to share a tale now of one of my Cyrodiilic characters. I've been writing her stories up over at Beth's forums for probably over a year now, so I thought I'd cut & paste one of these here.

Loredas, 3:48 pm
First Seed 2, 3rd Era Year 434

Aerin, a.k.a. Lady Saga

Level: 8
Race: Bosmer
Class: Ranger
Birthsign: The Lord

Playtime:

Days Passed: 188

Present Location: Crumbling Mine

IPB Image -

The sky is a blaze of blues and pinks, the sun sets to the west. Lady Saga dismounts her still-unnamed bay, and regards Chorrol with her solemn face. She is tired. She's just cleared a place known to the locals as "Crumbling Mine" of its inhabitants: a series of bandits who are bold enough to make their camp right beneath the town itself. Had Crumbling Mine been a source of materials and income for Chorrol in the past? Had the place dried up of all its mining ores? ... Aerin the wood elf Ranger from Valenwood is not sure. All she knows: It does seem odd that an outsider like her has chosen to rid Chorrol of a menacing presence literally under their feet. The guards do nothing. The Mage's Guild? Nothing. Fighter's Guild? Too busy sparring within town walls to actually do something in the real world.

"And will my efforts make any such rewarding? ... Shall the villagers of Chorrol even make subtle acknowledgment of the absence of their former uninvited roustabouts? ... I am guessing not."

She stands outside of Chorrol, watching the skies. Wispy-thin clouds high above, with puffier-looking (but also thin) clouds nearer to Nirn. Lady Saga never gets tired of looking at clouds. She does so until the sun is gone.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
8:53 pm
"Greetings!" says a Breton brightly, as Saga walks through Chorrol's gate. He does not speak to her though, he is talking to an Imperial.
"I heard there's a new shipment of weapons at Fire and Steel, have you been recently?" asks the Imperial.
"I was in there just a few days ago, Rasheda's prices are very reasonable".
The Imperial (a guard) sniffs at this, not interested in returning his own opinion.
"Have you heard any word about the other provinces?" the Breton pesters further, desperate for knowledge.
"Nothing I'd like to talk about".
Lady Saga walks past these two, and towards a lady dark elf. Saga feels brazened by her activities over the past few hours, ridding Crumbling Mine of bandit after bandit, yet Saga also feels sad. She's an outsider who passes through, does so much, yet is regarded so little.
"How are youuu?!" the dark elf lady now greets the guard as Saga walks past.
"Okay. You?"
"I have heard the ghost of Lord Vindrel has been spotted again, along the road to Bruma! ...I think I'll avoid that road for awhile*."
"Nooooo!" the guard responds in amazement. "Have you heard any word about the other provinces?" he asks the dark elf lady.
...now it's the guard who is desperate for news about the "other provinces", Saga notices. A moment ago while speaking to the Breton man, this very same guard seemed nonplussed about any such news. Such flippancy!
"The news has not been good", informs the dark elf lady, happy to suddenly be the center of attention. "I've heard it said that the dee-dra have overrun the town of Ald'ruhn. The entire town has been destroyed!"
"This is unbelievable!" the guard is flabbergasted. "How can the Gods let this happen!?"
"How can the Gods let this happen?" Lady Saga mocks the guard in a childish voice. She rolls her eyes with disdain, and continues into the town's inn.
*I have heard about this ghost probably ever since my very first playthough back on October 24, 2008. Never seen him on the roads, though! laugh.gif
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

10:10 pm

"How can I help?"

Lady Saga rents a room for the night from a Khajiit wearing an Imperial's style of dress. A hole has been cut into this dress so that the cat-lady's tail can poke through. Not that Saga is a member of Palonira's fashion squad, but she can't help but think that the cat-lady simply looks ridiculous in such a dress. At this moment, Saga remembers the hidden hamlet of Borderwatch, a place filled with real Khajiiti, who lived directly upon the land of Black Marsh.

"May you walk on warm sands," the cat lady with the hideous blue Imperial's dress says to Saga, after showing her the room she'll be sleeping in.

"May you walk on warm sands," Saga repeats to herself, once the door is closed. "Warm sands....walking upon. How nice of a thought is such."

You can take the Khajiit out of Elsweyr, but you cannot take Elsweyr out of the Khajiit, she thinks.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sundas, 10:17 am
"Sugar and sannnds, friend," Talasma (the Khajiit woman) greets the next morning.
"Might I make purchase of whatever edible goods you have in stock," Aerin starts, eager to be on her way. She's got a busy day ahead of her.
"Welcome to the Oak and Crossier. This one is Talasma, your hostess. Our rooms and food are at your disposal."
Lady Saga stocks up now, buying two loaves of bread, five apples, six carrots, an ear of corn, two bunches of grapes, one sweetroll, and three bottles of mead.
"I let that go too cheaply".
"If you say so."
The Ranger from Valenwood then makes her way to Fire and Steel. It is pleasant outside, Saga notices. Good.
"I'm pretty handy, what needs to be fixed?" asks Rasheda the Redguard as Lady Saga walks in her shop, and eventually hands over her bashed-upon weapons and armor.
As Rasheda spends several hours repairing this gear, tink! tink! tink! tink! tink!... Lady Saga suddenly remembers Erthor. Erthor the wood elf renegade from Skingrad's Mage's Guild chapter.
She had helped him escape Bleak Flats Cave months ago, but eventually left him behind at a farm. Shetcombe Farm? She thinks that's the name of the place. ....It's located just beyond the remains of Kvatch, she remembers. Erthor will need to be addressed, before she makes her journey, and Saga needs to plan for this. Would he even still be living at Shetcombe, though?.... After all these weeks and months?
"Good day!" Rasheda says brightly several hours later. She only asks 21 gold for three hours of work, leaving Lady Saga with close to two thousand.
1:53 pm
"Only the finest wares to buy and barter at Northern Goods and Trades. I'm Seed-Neeus, the proprietor. How can I help you?"
At Northern Goods and Trades, Saga sells three Varla stones, a magical dress, and an assortment of soul gems, leaving Chorrol behind with close to 3,700 gold. Gold will be important. For all her efforts here in Cyrodiil, Lady Saga makes sure she's going to have something to show for it. She will make her return a rich woman, indeed.
"Take care," says Seed-Neeus, happy to have some items she'll really be able to make some money from.
"You do the same".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4:37 pm
It is late in the day when she finally leaves the town. Soon it will be dark, but she does not care. At least it's not raining.

Lady Saga heads slowly south upon her bay, starting through grass that is green and raspberry-colored. She heads down a hill, and passes an Ayleid ruin on her right. At one point, she passes a group of deer who flee from the sight of her and her horse. Saga shakes her head sadly at this sight.

"Cannot you see I am but one of you?" calls out to them. She then thinks of Valenwood, with its much less fearful animals, and suddenly feels homesick. ...

She has heard of the others, others who had also been travelling through Cyrodiil, on adventures of their own. A former low-paid scribe known as the Grey Wizard for instance had recently become the newest Arch Mage. As the story went, he had been writing scrolls for years, making just a few gold a week. But his talents with magic had grown so strong, that it was he (it was said) who had fostered the end of Mannimarco, the so-called 'King of Worms'. Some stories had explained that Arch Mage Traven had then been mysteriously killed after all of this, but whether or not these stories were true was of some debate.

A pair of others named Renee Gade II and Dyan phor a'Cauz had also been about; these two had taken upon what was known as the "Pilgrim's Way," and it was rumored they were looking for weapons and armor belonging to Pelinal Whitestrake, an ancient human leader who had defeated the threat of Umaril the Unfeathered, beginning what was historically known as the 'First Era'. Renee and Dyan (like the Grey Wizard) had been traveling all over Cyrodiil, ridding enemies from various holds, forts, ruins, and caves, as their fame and glories rose.

There were others as well, Saga realizes as she rides past the mysterious hamlet known as Hackdirt. Igodah Go^Pe, a somewhat contemptuous high elf living in the Arcane University, is one such person. Unlike the Grey Wizard, Igodah did not possess such a reliably regal reputation, but she had also been doing her part at keeping Cyrodiil safe. Renee, Dyan, the Grey Wizard, and Igodah. All of them playing a part in the grand scheme of Tamriel these days.

"Cyrodiil shall see much protection from these sorts." Lady Saga muses as a rat attacks her horse. This rat (of course) quickly falls behind. "And Cyrodiil shall prosper, I have no fears of anything but. And I shall soon attend hopefully amongst those who dwell upon Nirn much as intended, while these others perform their good works."

Lady Saga rides upon her bay horse, still heading south.

*Laughs* Yea I know. I'm so dorky, my X box characters also live in a different reality from my PS3 ones. So Saga (PS3) will not have heard of Kahreem (Xbox) and vice versa.

Lothran has left Bruma. Yup, he sure has. He left early in the morning and headed west, towards the shrine to mr Mora. From there he went downwards all the way to Chorrol, battling monsters and conjurers along the way. Right now he rests at the Crosier as night has just fallen over Tamriel.

Meanwhile back in Bruma, his fellow guards continue to patrol the town. Ongar still causes havoc at Olav´s and Humilis continues to tend to the horses. And all is quiet.

I'm jealous. That's a beautiful trip along that northern unmarked road past that shrine then down to Chorrol. Those stone cutouts with the burning braziers as warm up stops offer some spectacular views. And Talasma runs perhaps the finest inn in Cyrodiil - even though I know Lothie prefers the Tap & Tuck.

Buffy's in Cheydinhal at the moment. She just delivered some fully filled grand and greater soul gems (she doesn't bother filling the smaller ones - anyone can do that) and some vampire (ugh) dust. The sweet rolls and replenishing the things she needs (like hair conditioner and arrows) will probably keep her there for a day or so before breezes from outside the gate call her back to the roads and forests.

Posted by: mirocu Apr 4 2013, 07:32 PM

Oh, Lothran likes most inns. It´s just... he has to live somewhere, ya know? laugh.gif And I didn´t know Buffy delivered those gems, filled and all. Is it her bread and butter now?

Posted by: Acadian Apr 4 2013, 08:41 PM

Buffy struggled with the lure of dark soul gems when she was a mageling, so she tries to help ensure the guild has plenty of potent regular soul gems so new mages don't make the mistakes she did.

Between selling soul gems and scrolls from her travels, she makes more than enough gold to cover her expenses. smile.gif

I remember that! Maxical also struggles with the lure of dark soul gems when enchanting items - they do make a powerful enchantment!

I hope nobody minds if I post some Kahreem here. I'm kinda hungry for some Kahreem of Weet. wink.gif

For those who don't know him (since I've never written his stories here at Chorrol) he is a Redguard and a former bandit. He used to live with a group of others somewhere on the West Weald. After hearing about the Thieves Guild being headquartered on the Waterfront, he decided to leave his former bandit's life for some easier money. He stole from his former posse before leaving them, and has not returned to the West Weald since.

Kahreem also realized at some point that there are no old bandits. Living this sort of life may be fun, it may include plenty of partying and revelry, but there are no old bandits. Living such a lifestyle virtually guarantees you'll die young he concluded one day.

I've been writing about him since September of last year over at Beth's forums.He has been doing TG quests, and has recently acquired the guild rank of "Bandit" ironically. Kahreem has just arrived in Bravil, where he is to meet with a Khajiit named S'krivva.

Kahreem also recently witnessed the death of an Argonian named City Swimmer (a first for me, actually). He has been squatting in her home. smile.gif

Sundas 2:36 pm, Frost Fall 21, 3E 433

Level: 4

Class: Bandit

Days Passed: 56
Days Jailed: 14
Fame: 0
Infamy: 7

The day is pleasant, the air is warm. Kahreem of Weet wanders around Bravil for a few hours. Just moseying, and studying the way the town is laid out.

"Is there a busier smith in Bravil other than Tadrose Helas?"

"Tadrose is a fine smith. But I understand she only offers services to other Fighter's Guild members."

Bravil seems to be a poorer town than Anvil, Skingrad, Bruma, and Cheydinhal, Kahreem concludes. Its peoples are not as well off, and it seems a good portion of them are skooma addicted.

"Skooma! Have to get some skooma! ... Shouldn't be hard, in a town like this".

His usual modus operandi is to 'case' any new towns he arrives in. But as he wanders from home to home, staircase to staircase, Kahreem decides he's not going to go on a crime spree here. Not amongst the people's of Bravil. Other than skooma, there doesn't seem to be much else he could possibly steal.

"I do have one target, though. A place I have laid my eyes on ya might say."

He has already been in the castle. They took him there as he arrived in Bravil! ...With a bounty already upon his head, his first place of staying happened to be Bravil's jail!

"It's okay. Not the first time I've gone to jail upon entering a new village a ha-ha-ha!" he says aloud as he walks across one of Bravil's bridges. He then remembers Bruma. As soon as he arrived in Bruma a few weeks back, he had immediately been arrested. Why? He cannot even remember why.

4:34 pm
Kahreem comes to a tavern called Lonely Suitor Lodge, and thinks this is the place where he'll be able to finally meet his contact here in Bravil.

"Helloooo" says a rather gruff voice as Kahreem enters the place.

"How goes it?" asks a Nord man with a balding head.

"Not baaad".

"What's the news from the other parts of Tamriel?"

"Maaany Argonians say that that they have been "callled back" to Black Marsh. Dey deesappear into da swamps, and are never seen agaaaan".

"Ahh the land of the Argonians is a strange place indeed!"

As Kahreem nears the bar, he sees that the "Nord" is actually an orc. "Well met." says this orc.

"How fares thee?" Kahreem looks around the darkness, and does not see her. "I am looking for a Khajiit woman. Goes by the name of S'krivva."

"I'm Bogrum Gro-Galash, your host at the Lonely Suitor Lodge. It may not look like much outside, but that's just the weathered bravil look".

"Bravil is a weathered town, indeed. Look, I need to find S'krivva. You know of a Skrivva?"

... Some orcs are ugly, Kahreem thinks, but this "Bogrum" is really ugly!

"A local woman," Bogrum answers, "Ursanne Loch, has a missing husband. She might appreciate some help from someone like you."

Bogrum seems not interested in helping Kahreem out on the subject of S'Krivva the Khajiit here in Bravil. Perhaps it is because she is Thieves Guild, and therefore needs to keep a low profile.

"Fine. Um....I will see about helping this Ursanne Lock lady, then." he says, not intending to help her at all. "Let's get straight to the point, orc. Let's forget about this S'krivva; I need some wine. Cheap Wine. Whathavya got?"

"Have a look at my waares. I'm sure there's something to suit you".

The orc only has one bottle of the cheap stuff, though. Kahreem would normally flip out about this, but today he's in a milder mood. Soon, he'll be able to seek out some skooma in this town, anyways! Who needs Cheap Wine when there's skooma around? ... He buys this single bottle of wine, and realizes he barely has any gold left in his pockets.

8:49 pm
"I understand that Fathis Aren is quite the Conjurrrrerrrr."

"I don't have any interest in about learning about Conjuration. But I hear he's very good."

Time drones on, and eventually Kahreem's Cheap Wine buzz wears off. Just as he's about to order whatever other alcohol there might be in this crap-joint, a Khajiit woman (commonly dressed) walks into the Lonely Suitor.

"Blaaade and bone. Speak to me," she greets Kahreem.

"You are S'krivva? How do you do? My name is Kahreem. Armand Cristophe sent me."

"Ahh you are the new thief. I am your new doyen, " she greets. She speaks openly, and seems not to have interest in keeping a low profile, as Kahreem had assumed.

"You live here in Bravil, eh?" he makes small talk.

"Bravil perhaps presents little scope for such an ambitious member of our guild. Perhaps you may find the castle entertaining. Little else".

"The castle? Funny you should .... mention the castle," he answers her with a wink. Kahreem has big plans for the castle!

"Well, what have you got for an aspiring ....'worker' like myself? Anything that needs to be done?" Perhaps a famous piece of art needs to be...uh.... 'relocated'?"

"I have a special request from the widow of a former fence in Leyawiin. As your new Doyen, I am asking yoouuu to help her."

"Go on."

"A street scavenger made off with a ring that the widow Ahdarji values highly. She is offering a reward: the guild frowns on freelance thieves. Are youuu willing to go to Leyawin, find the ring, and get it back to Ahdarji?"

"Am I willing? By the Gods, yes!" S'krivva's got really sharp-looking teeth, Karheem thinks. And I now have a new job!

"This is good. Go to Leyawiin. Speak with Ahdarji, and help her get her ring".

"Sounds mighty fine! ... I've relocated art in the past, now I'm relocating jewelry. Wow, I'm like a courier!" he realizes. "And a well-paid courier at that".

"Good hunting" S'Krivva says, as she finishes her beer and walks out the door.

Good hunting. Kahreem likes the sounds of this.

Those other threads will continue as well. I just find it easier to write here at Chorrol, directly into the web page as I'm gaming. The problem with writing at Beth is later on if I need to edit something, for some reason my Internet will compress all my text into one huge wall. Beth's forums (on my browser) basically get rid of any paragraph breaks, which means I'll have to sit there and manually break the text up by hand. It's frustrating.

Chorrol? It's much easier to write here.

Good to know, Grits and mirocu. We shall all have some Kahreem of Weet in the future, then. smile.gif And now, I present my other character. When we last saw her, she was leaving Chorrol, on her way back to Shetcombe Farm.

...She has heard of the others, others who had also been travelling through Cyrodiil, on adventures of their own. A former low-paid scribe known as the Grey Wizard had recently become the newest Arch Mage. He had been writing scrolls for ages as the story went, making just a few gold a week, but his talents with magic had grown so strong, and it was he (it was said) who had fostered the end of Mannimarco, the so-called 'King of Worms'. 6:23 pm
Lady Saga and her un-named bay horse pass the cottage known as Weatherleah. Over the past few months, this cottage has been rumored (Saga has heard) to be inhabited by a dark elf witch; a daedra-worshipping practitioner of the Black Arts. This witch had become a vampire at some point, and had been terrorizing the towns of Skingrad and Chorrol.

But as Saga and her horse walk closer, the place does not seem to be inhabited. It seems downright abandoned, matter of fact, with no sign of recent life (or un-life) other than a series of bones upon the ground. If a vampire had been living here, these bones might still be present, but they would not be stripped of all their flesh. She thinks she is safe.

But as she nears Weatherleah further, she notices a couple images in her vision, these images glowing purple as her Detect Life activates.

"Ogres!....Blasted creatures!"

Ogres in Valenwood had all been eliminated, except in the very roughest of terrain. She is surprised to see so many of them congregating here. ... She bolts her horse away as they notice her! ... Big and slow, these giants simply will never catch her on horseback. She rides away with ease, and keeps her horse at a full gallop as the ogres fall far behind. Before she knows it, she has left the Great Forest, and rides upon the West Weald once again.

The sun is about to set. She turns to the right, heading west towards Kvatch.

"A city which has burned to the ground, as the rumors fly."

Saga has heard about Kvatch, about the daedra attacks, and she has no intention of visiting the place before she goes. Daedra (or "dee-dra", as the dark elf in Chorrol had pronounced) had attacked Kvatch, but they had not attacked other villages, hamlets, and towns, yet. ...And this is all Lady Saga needs to know.

The sky is an inky blue as she makes her way past a large Ayleid ruin inhabited by goblins. One of these cries out "YAAAAH!" as a wolf attacks him. But as Saga makes her way further west she is attacked by another wolf. And another. And then a troll! And another troll. Once again, she gallops her horse a full speed, hoping to shake all these pursuants!

"Ohh HOW I MISS THE FORESTS! BUT NOT FOR LONG! ... NOT FOR LONG MUST I TOLERATE THIS NONSENSE!"
she screams as the enemies do not give up.

Amazingly she finds the place. But by the time she's made her way back to Shetcombe, she's got many enemies waiting to chomp upon her and her horse! ... She just cannot shake them. Spontaneously she makes a plan, after circling the farm several times: she jumps the horse upwards upon a low-lying stable made of straw. She hopes this straw will hold the weight of her horse without collapsing. It does. Saga then dismounts the bay, reaches into her satchel, and unrolls a bit of paper, trying not to panic.

"Have a bit of play with THIS!" she says, reading a scroll that summons a giant daedroth. The daedroth manages to kill just one wolf and one troll, and then unfortunately its summon ends.

"Rats."

She summons a ghost next, but this is like blowing a cloud of smoke into the wind; its cold spells barely make a dent when faced with the health-regenerating trolls.

"Noo!"

At one point, Lady Saga's horse somehow gets bitten by the sole remaining timber wolf, and the horse decides to jump off the stable, and begins to fight. Immediately the troll decides he'd like some horse flesh, and figures he'll join in with the timber wolf! ... Saga cannot do anything about this, she feels suddenly helpless. Then, she comes up with a plan. Both enemies are distracted, so before they manage to kill the horse, Saga jumps off the stable as well, and then crouches behind one of Shetcombe's walls, casting Detect Life and waiting to see if these dreadful enemies will finally just go away. She thinks she might hide inside the cottage itself, but then she remembers that trolls can open doors, which means there'd possbibly be nowhere to escape.

So she hides in the grass, and casts her dual detect life spells, until finally the enemies seem to be gone. Once this is so, she creeps slowly past Shetcombe's entrance, where she notices a couple of pumpkins had been placed on each side of the door*. She creeps back to the stable, expecting to find her dead horse, but she's surprised that the horse (as well as the troll and wolf) are nowhere to be found.

1:53 am

"Erthor? You are still here?"

"I hope we'll get to Skingrad soon. I've had enough of the wilderness for now".

Lady Saga cannot believe her fellow wood elf, the only one who had chosen to follow her (for awhile) on her various quests, is still living at Shetcombe.

"You know, Skingrad is just down the road, right? ... Egads! I cannot believe you have been here all this time!"

Saga says this, and then she thinks she can't blame him for staying here where it's safe. With giant trolls and larger-than-usual wolves running around outside, Shetcombe might just offer some sort of protection.

"Well, perhaps I can take you back. On the morrow. But I must rest first. 'Tis of many dangers outside, and I, for one, must sleep and recuperate. "

"Okay. If you say so!" Erthor says. He's excited his heroine has returned, obviously. "I can't wait to be back in Skingrad, safe and sound!"

The two share a couple bottles of mead along with some of the other food Saga had bought earlier in the day. Then, she passes out in one final Cyrodiilic splendor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Morndas, 11;53 am
The next morning, Saga and Erthor leave Shetcombe Farm one last time. Lady Saga heads south, despite Erthor's complaints that he'd rather go to Skingrad.
"Oh come now, Erthor, you will grow to like the place! I make this as a promise!"
Erthor complains once again that he'd rather go back to Skingrad, safe and sound. But Aerin the wood elf hopes Erthor will appreciate the wilds and wonders of her homeland, instead.
Tonight is a historic moment. Tonight I begin gaming with a brand new species, new for me, that is. smile.gif Before gaming, I decided to have a peek at one of my old DnD books for a description. I had to correct some of the shockingly bad grammar in the text!
LIZARD MAN
Intelligence: Low
Alignment: Neutral
Lizard men are semi-aquatic, breathing air but often (35%) dwelling totally underwater, and having caves which are water-filled in which they lair. They band together in rough tribal form. They are omnivorous, but lizard men are likely to prefer human flesh to other foods. In this regard, they have been known to ambush humans, gather up the corpses and survivors as captives, and take the lot back to their lair for a rude and horrid feast.
About 1 tribe in 10 has evolved to a higher state. These lizard men willl dwell in crude huts, use shields, hurl barbed darts or javelins, and use clubs.
They speak their own language.
Tirdas 5:09 pm Last Seed 28, 3E433
The Imperial City. Home of a cosmopolitan mix of humans, elves, orcs, Khajiit, and Argonians from all walks of life. Rich and poor. Noble and sneaky. Pious and destitute. The Imperial City during the latter Third Era is a very safe and special place to be. One can relax and be himself. Or herself. Outbursts of any kind are rare, and are quickly dealt with by the city's massive force of guards. Shops can be browsed, food can be had, money can be made, while idle conversation languishes on and on in the city's thoroughfares.
But below them, lurks a menace. Below them, an unspoken secret which some will come to believe to be nothing but rumor, and others will fear first-hand.
"Ich brauche ssspeise. Ich habe hunnnger"
....
Abwasserkanal Eidechsse
awakes from a long long sleep, and finds himself in darkness. Other than some green mold glowing faintly upon a few walls, it is nearly pitch black in his new home.
"Ich brauche sssspeise. Menssschliches fleisch und trauben"... he mumbles and hisses in a low voice.
A torch lies next to his newly-found bedroll, along with a series of gemstones, pearls and other curiosities. He likes his new home. He feels safe here, much safer than he did up in the forest. As he awakes, he decides he'd like to explore his new home further...which seems to (so far) be an underground dwelling of some sort. Thick stone walls. Low-lying fetid water is gathered up in a series of canals that do not flow. How far underground does this place go?
As petticoat-wearing socialites and ladies dressed in Palonira's finest make their way lazily about the markets, Arboretum, and Temple, a menace stirs from sleep. And begins to stalk and creep.
"How are you?"
"Fine! Thanks for asking!"
Living on mud crabs and rat meat for several days, now, Abwasserkanal is ready for something more....delectable.
"Be seeing you!"
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
7:26 pm
clop...clop...clop....clop...
The sound of feet move far above, and shafts of light shine high from the ceilings of this underground place. Abwasserkanal thinks he hears voices, but is not entirely sure. One thing he knows: his new home is enormous. It is also already inhabited.
A set of humanoid dwellers: both of them Khajiit, as well as some mudcrabs and rats, are the beings Abwasserkanal encounters as he creeps through passage after passage in the semi-darkness. At times, he needs a hand-held torch to see by. His kind has an acute sense of smell, keen hearing, but not very good eyesight. Not underground, anyways.
1:20 am
After going through a circular door, he finds himself in a portion of the Big White City itself.
"SSehrrr gut!"
It is night time. The air is lightly scented with about a dozen different aromas; all of them pleasant. Despite the fact that he can speak a language, Abwasserkanal's brain thinks in images and colors instead of words. He realizes that when he started going underground a day or two before, he had been on a small, warm, sandy beach, and the Big White City had been located off in the distance. He has therefore traveled completely under the city itself, and has arrived in this pleasant garden-like place.
3:31 am
After trying several doors (all of which are locked), he finally finds one which is unlocked. Inside is a shop of sorts full of colorful walls, and the smell of smoked food. ...Food is arranged everywhere! Food on the tables! Food on the floor!
"Jaaa! Speice! ... Ich mussss esssen!"
There is a human standing guard of all the food, but Abwasserkanal does not care. He feasts his eyes on a large green piece of fruit; fruit as he has not seen in awhile. He salivates! Before the human can realize, Abwasserkanal grabs the heavy green fruit and runs back outside, puncturing and then devouring the fruit with a series of snaps from his razor-sharp teeth. Sticky pink juice gets all over his snout! .. As soon as he is done eating, he decides he wants some MORE.
...He has spent weeks in the forests, subsisting on mushrooms, flowers, and leaves, so his hunger is massive.
"You treacherous little filcher! How DARE you steal from me!"
Abwasserkanal likes the taste of the next food he grabs. It has a strange texture, as well: hardened on the very outside, yet flakey and tender on the inside.
"Keep your hands off of that you WORTHLESS THIEF!"
Abwasswerkanal realizes these angry words are directed at him, and does not entirely care. If they come for him, he can defend himself, easily. He continues to eat the loaf of bread he has just grabbed off a nearby table. He cannot wait to eat another loaf.
"STOP!" says a man wearing metal clothes. "You violated the law. Pay the court a fine or serve your sentence! Your stolen goods are now forfeit!"
Although the Argonian known as Abwasserkanal cannot understand the metal-suited man, he can certainly "feel" him. The man wearing the metal clothes is angry. He is not pleased. The Argonian feels this anger, and knows what to do next.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.
8:18 am
"THIS ENDS HERE!!!"
"I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than you!"
Moments later, Abwasserkanal is back in his new home. His very large new home. He jumps down a ladder, rushes down a set of stairs, and runs into the next room, just as he had rehearsed several hours earlier. He finds the giant wheel on the wall, and starts to turn it, causing a clattering of noise.
"DIE, DAMN YOU!"
...yells one of the men in the metal clothing, as he finds himself stuck behind the impenetrable iron door Abwasserkanal has just closed.
"Ha! YOU'LL NEVER YOU SHOULD HAVE PAID THE FINE!"
As the Imperial guards get trapped behind this iron door, Abwasserkanal, an Argonian Rogue from Black Marsh, calmly sneaks away. He nibbles once again on his raw crab meat, and the tasty human's food he just stole.
Oh, Buffy just cleared Belda and Barren Mine on the way to Cheydinhal. After a day to retrofit there and sell off some frost salts and vampire dust, she's leaving now. Hopefully she'll encounter Lothie. Gosh, if you think he's a little Dunmer, I really hope he runs into Buffy - to remind him how small a little elf really is! biggrin.gif
Mysterious cabin south of Cheydinhal? Hmm. . . one from the mod Kvatch Rebuilt comes to mind. . . could it be?
According to local rumors, a lone ranger once lived in it. But it´s supposedly empty now and Lothran has been thinking about "setting up shop" in that area for some time now... hehe.gif
BONG! .... BONG! ....... BONG!!!....
....go the chapel bells.
Midnight has struck in Bravil. The skies are dark, but clear. The Kahreem of Weet leaves the Lonely Suitor Lodge, where he has met with a Khajiit Thieves Guild member by the name of S'Krivva. The discussion? ... A ring that has gone missing in Leyawiin. Kahreem is given the task of retrieving it somehow, and then returning it to its rightful owner.
"Ha! .. should be a cinch!"
If Leyawiin is anything like Cheydinhal, Kahreem feels fully confident that he will be able to handle the matter of finding this ring, and then giving it back to its true owner.
"Bumbling guards! .... Poorly-equipped townspeople! ... I should have that ring in my possession in no time a hah-hah hah!"
Leyawiin is yet another town (the last town, actually) that he has never been, though. There's always a chance that maybe Leyawiin will be different, Kahreem thinks. Maybe its garrisons are packed with battlemages, or maybe its stables house a battalion of trolls, which only gets released when people like him show up in town. But he thinks this is not the case.
"I'm looking forward to this one."
But he's not in Leyawiin yet. The night is young here in Bravil. And Kahreem decides he's going to... celebrate his new job.
BONNNNNNNG! .... BONNNG! ...BONNNNG!..
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
12:57 am
He returns to his new home, and quickly removes most of his newly-repaired armor. Kahreem now wears only a stolen pair of buckled shoes, as well as some pants issued to him while he was in jail. Kahreem's shirtless upper body is so dark, it's almost as if he's born for his profession.
"Gonna have to see about getting something to freshen the place up".
City Swimmer owned a small and convenient home, packed with fresh food and an assortment of useful items. This home is located on Bravil's third story, and is a great place for Kahreem to hide out in. He tosses his Sewer Club and the rest of his Sewer Battle Gear to the floor of Miss Swimmer's humble abode, has a bite to eat, and walks back outside.
"Gonna get hot in there during the day",** he says, thinking aloud as he often does. "Perfect for an Argonian, but I might fry up in there."
As Kahreem leaves the dead Argonian's hovel, he opens his sack, picks out a couple watermelons, and places these fruits just outside of City Swimmer's door.
**Bravil and the Black Marsh area make me think of Maryland's hot summer days, for some reason. Top stories in houses get much hotter than basements or lower stories, and with no A/C in Cyrodiil, I feel for Kahreem, here. wink.gif
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
2:05 am
His first target of the evening is Kahreem's nearest neighbor. Might as well start close to home, right? The placard on the door identifies somebody named 'Ranaline' lives here. Kahreem break just one pick on her 2-tumbler door, and then eases his way inside. As he had suspected, there is not much to steal.
"Interesting reading material here..." Kahreem comments as he passes by the Mythic Dawn book on her bed.
He has heard rumors about the Mythic Dawn in the past; all bandits had. Stories about the Mythic Dawn made for interesting campfire tales while the ale (or Cheap Wine) flowed. Kahreem finds just one item of interest in Ranaline's place: a pair of leather gauntlets. He takes these, but does not bother to take anything else. He even leaves the meager 10 gold in one of her chests behind!
"No sense in robbing the poor girl goldless".
His next target should be more interesting, he thinks. But first, he returns to City Swimmer's place, and deposits the leather gauntlets he just stole. One thing nice about his new home: it also makes for a convenient place to quickly stash things (unlike his pirate boat).
3:19 am
...BONNNNG ... BONNNNG!!! ..... BONNNNG
The Weet Bandit walks casually by the chapel again, turns left, and makes his way towards a set of wooden stairs. He climbs one-and-a-half stories, and suddenly freezes.
GWOP! ... GWOP!...
"Somebody suckin' on some skooma!" he whispers.
He chances a creep and a peek: it's a young but balding white man, wearing rather fashionable red clothing. The man does not appear like your typical skooma addict (other than some faint bruising around his eyes), yet here he is in front of a skooma den. Kahreem smells the scent of the drug in the air, and tries to keep his heart calm.
"Go inside, fool!"
But the man stays outside. Every so often, he puts his skooma bottle away, and then has a couple looks over his shoulders, as if he is nervous. But within minutes, the urge to quaff once more become ovewhelming, and the well-dressed man can no longer fight this urge.
GWOP! .... GWOP!..
Kahreem gets impatient. He can't stay out here all night. He decides he'll come back to the skoooma den later on, and makes his way towards his next target of the evening.
I noticed that as the man hit his skooma over and over, he kept trying to enter the skooma den itself, but could not. He was apparently locked out!.. I know this because of the sound the door kept making as he tried to enter the place.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Morndas, 4:20 am
Bravil's castle interior gets right to the point, Kahreem notices as he enters the place. There is no grand hallway lined with multiple side entrances; instead one is faced immediately with the Count's throne as he enters castle Bravil, which is decorated tastefully in reds, oranges, and golds. The Weet Bandit wastes no time; the night will soon be over.
There are three display cases in the court, all of which are tough to pick. Kahreem breaks a couple lockpicks on one of these, and decides he needs to save the rest for later. He sneaks up a set of stone stairs.
"Morning!"
"He there!"
"How goes it?"
But unfortunately the upper area is lined with guards, and they all see him in his shirtless state.. ... After a moment, Kahreem hunches down and sneaks off to the side, anyways. Then he creeps slowly back towards a door marked Private Quarters, and waits until the guards seem not to notice him.
"Here goes. Wish me luck!"
A 1-tumbler lock. Piece of sweetcake. Before anyone knows it, the Weet Bandit makes his way inside Castle Bravil's proper area.
Lol, SubRosa.
Kahreem of Weet is in Bravil. He's been given a job down in Leyawiin to find a stolen ring, but is currently planning on sneaking into Bravil's castle instead. I already have a story written up on what happens, and I'll post it this weekend perhaps.
Abwasserkanal Eidesche (sewer lizard) is in the Imperial City's sewers. He is a rather primitive DnD styled lizardman, an is being chased by Imperial guards because he stole a bunch of stuff from Gilded Carafe.
Lady Saga is still in Valenwood.
Oh, luvs huntin' conjuredudes! When you silence 'em, they don't carry scrolls to hit you with like necrodudes do. If they do get off a spell to summon somethin', it's great fun to silence the caster and command their summon! And since the conjuredude is silenced, they can't dispel their own summon. Great fun!
Posted by: mirocu Apr 27 2013, 09:03 PM
Lothran disposed of some conjuredudes too tonight, in Fort Black Boot. But his days of sneaking around in dark, dank dungeons is actually long gone. Nowadays he prefers the fresh air above ground smile.gif
Skingrad is his new location where he sold off some collected loot. And now, Anvil awaits...
Posted by: Renee Gade IV Apr 28 2013, 04:18 AM
I wrote this last weekend, which is really cool 'cause it means I don't have to write anything now. smile.gif Kahreem is supposed to go to Leyawiin but has decided to see what sort of goodies Bravil has to offer first.
Frost Fall 22
5:42 am
Guards stand side by side literally 20 feet (about 5 meters) away, and this makes Kahreem of Weet nervous. He is now on a second floor balcony inside of Bravil's castle, trying to decide whether or not to sneak inside of the castle's 'Private Quarters'. After a minute or two of consideration, he decides to do it, despite the fact that the guards might literally see him.
He hunches down, prepares his lockpicks, and somehow manages to sneak quickly inside Castle Bravil's Private Quarters. The guards do not notice him. .... It helps that this 'private' area is locked with just a cheap 1-tumbler device.
"A piece of garbage like that protects Bravil's elite? Go figure."
As the Weeet Bandit sneaks in*, he finds himself at the end of a long hallway. He thinks he hears footsteps echoing far off in the distance, so he moves quickly forwards, and ducks into a short hall to the right. There is a door here, which is unlocked.
"'ello", he says, imiatating a servant's voice. "Anybody 'ome? Just doin' my rounds, cleanin' and scrubbin'!"
Nobody is inside, lucky for him. He finds an unlocked chest, and quickly trades the sack-cloth pants issued to him in jail for a nice blue & green blouse + trousers combination. Hopefully these nicer clothes will help him blend in, now that he officially trespassing. ... It can't be too often that shirtless Redguards go sneaking through Bravil's castle, after all, right?
6:18 am
crraawwwwk!
The sound of a nearby door opening causes him to freeze. He stands motionless for a few moments. It is rather cool inside this castle, and this coolness is the only thing that is keeping him from sweating heavily, but a thin film starts to perspire upon his forehead.
The sound of footsteps come closer and closer to the small room he is in....
clip...clip ...clip ...clop .. clip ....clip ... CLOP CLOP...clip clop clip...
...and then whoever it is walks quickly away. The sound of a door opening and closing can be heard out in the hallway. Kahreem hopes that whoever that was, he or she has now left the hallway itself. He creeps forward, and leaves the room he's been hiding in, after making sure there's nothing else worthy of stealing.
*
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
7:32 am
"For the love of Azura! ...Can't a man have a bit of privacy? GET OUT OF HERE!"
Kahreem stalks out of the room he's been hiding in, and immediately gets accosted by a dark elf! ...The moment happens so quickly, and the Weet Bandit is surprised to have been discovered so soon.
"Uhh...I uh...I'm Marc. Marc Mywards, from Bruma," Kahreem lies.
"Drels Thera," greets the dark elf, suddenly calm. "I'm the count's Special Inquisitor in charge of suppressing the Renrija Krin insurgents."
"Renrija what?" Kahreem asks casually. He's hoping this distraction in conversation will keep this 'Drels' from throwing him out.
"The Renrija Krin are Khajiit bandits and smugglers posing as guerillas and freedom fighters", Drels informs the Redguard trespasser.
"I see", Kahreem says, not 'seeing' at all. He has no idea what the dark elf is talking about. "Well look ... I was supposed to uh ... deliver a package...'Cause I'm a courier, see? And I have news from the Imperial City and the Elder Council itself, which has recently decided to subvert the little skooma problem you've got here in Bravil".
"Make it quick", says Drels.
Kahreem realizes he's made a great decision, wearing these nicer (but stolen) clothes. As long as he can 'blend in' like this, perhaps he can make his way farther and farther into the castle itself.
"There's lots of skooma here in town. And a well-known skooma den located in the center of it all. The Elder Council has sent me as a sort of spy."
"You win this one!" Drels is thrilled at the news! He realizes the Redguard is right. There is a skooma problem here in Bravil. He is glad somebody has been sent to address the situation.
"I'll sneak in their den, and report what I see!" Kahreem promises. "And you'll be the first to know of my progress".
"Gracious! What a hero!"
"But to perform this task, I'll need to ...uh...have a look inside the count's chambers, first. The count should already know about this, so there should be no problem if you'll just hand me the key. Chances are I might find something useful to aid me in my search a-hah-hah-hah!"
"That's just not funny," answers Drels, now seeming to smell a rat.
"But the count...he's got something for me. Um..." Kahreem gets nervous, and realizes he's been caught. Caught in a lie. "A magical device. I'm supposed to use this magical device; it'll help me see in the dark! ... Oh....why am I even talking to you? This should all have been arranged already!" Kahreem says, throwing his arms up in frustration. "Can I speak to someone in charge, please?"
"What nonsense!" Drels now sees what's really going on. "Stop talking," he suggests!
This Redguard's no spy! He's not from the Elder Council! .... Drels may have been fooled for a moment, but this moment is now past.
"But...but...."
"I'm wawwning you!!! Get out or I'll cawwl the guards!"
With no other choice, Kahreem of Weet can only concede. He turns around, and leaves the castle's Private Quarters; his desired crime spree already called to a halt.
....or so he thinks...
7:24 am
Once back in the court, and still on the second floor, he glances over to where the morning guards stood beside a central door, and notices these guards are now gone. Once again, this door is guarded by a cheap 1-tumbler.
clink!
Kahreem is back in action! As he sneaks in, he finds himself at the end of another long hallway. A figure appears in the darkness, at the opposite end of this hallway, and this figure appears to be approaching (rather than walking away) which means he is actually facing the Weet Bandit, but too far away to see him.. Kahreem quickly sneaks forward and to the left, where a short hallway is located. He ducks into this hallway, and crouches in shadow.
clop clop clpop clop
The figure is a guard, and paces right by Kahreem's shadowy hiding spot! This guard then walks out the door Kahreem just came in. He is out of earshot, then.
"Phew, that was close".
Another guard immediately enters the hallway, walks by in the opposite direction, and makes no notice of Kahreem. Kahreem feels he is therefore in the clear. He turns to his left, and starts working on the 2-tumbler door before him. After breaking a couple more picks, he's inside! .... and is quickly greeted by another Dunmer male. And this Dunmer (unlike Drels) does not engage in small talk. Instead, he casts some sort of spell.
...ting!
"Uh...I ahhh...wrong building...."
Kahreem turns around, where yet another castle occupant comes up from behind. How many damn people live here? Kahreem quickly thinks. Never has he been so easily caught at his thievery. Kahreem hasn't even got a chance to see who it is before him swiiinnng!! before whoever it is casts a spell that makes him or her nearly invisible.
"ohhh no. Not an invisible man!"
At this sight, Kahreem is terrified! He hates invisible men. So he bolts back up the hallway, and back out into the court, while the invisible man (or woman) follows closely...
"By the gods, there's a psychopath on the loose!" she screams to the court.
"STOP!" says a guard, quickly stepping up to the situation. "You violated the law! Pay the court a fine or serrrve your sentence. Your stolen goods are now forfeit."
The court is suddenly crowded with lots of figures, leaving him with no options for escape. ..
"Uh...I'm from the Elder Council ... I was ahhhhh.... sent here to spy on skooma dens. Quite a little skooma problem you got here in Bravil
...All eyes look upon him, and he can see that NOBODY believes his story this time.
" ...Ah never mind. Let us go to jail, then."
"Hope you rawwwt. Criminal scum," says the guard.
First City Swimmer, and now THIS scum. Bravil has certainly been more interesting as of late, thinks this guard as he takes Kahreem into custody.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
8:38 am
Back where it all started. Once again. Same crummy bed. Same bad room service. Kahreem notes that his fine this time was just 40 gold, which means he should be in and out of here in no time.
"But it's no fun, getting caught like that. Bravil seems to have its [censored] together, when it comes to apprehending a man like me," he says glumly. "Fokke!"
During his first stay in Bravil's jail a few days prior, he felt relaxed and even enjoyed his sentence. But today, he is anxious and bored. As morning drones on to afternoon, and a sad meal of tasteless corn and overdone ham is served, the Weet Bandit decides Bravil is just too tough of a town to take on. He looks forward to heading south, towards Leyawiin.
We are in the Mage's Guild in Leyawiin.
Niamh has decided to commit herself to getting her recommendation, which surprises me really because the only thing that prior to this she has ever really committed herself to is being generally fairly objectionable..
I put it down to the after-effects of her last trip into The Northern Province. This second time, when she was deposited back inside a Dwemer ruin to the east of Cyrodiil, far from where she was when she was taken, was much worse than previously. She was sick and disoriented for days afterwards and subsequently what happened to that guard; well, she actually felt bad about it really. It wasn't his fault, he had caught her at a bad time and she still doesn't know why she had that much bounty in the first place; I mean sure, she's killed a *few* people but as far as she knew - (or cared) - no one had really noticed...
...Still, these events have caused her to have a little think and if the guard's untimely death and subsequent dumping in the Niben have done anything, it's given her a pause for thought.
I believe we've turned a corner, sure she's still an evil little toerag with a penchant for sleeping around, drinking too much and committing casual acts of random assault, battery and burglary, but now she does it all with a smile on her face and more of a spring in her step, AND, she's decided to complete some of the things on her list; and it's a long list.
She may even get out more.
Who knows...? wink.gif
He's usually better than this, but for some reason in Bravil he just got caught twice in a row. I've had other characters in the past break into castles and make their way deep inside; matter of fact, Kahreem managed to make it to the Countess's chambers in Bruma that one time.
Eventually his Sneak skill will go through the roof, of course. Then he'll be able to sneak wherever the heck he wants, but these stories might not be as funny anymore.
A stop at Gnoll´s Meeting Camp was needed as night fell. His tent was put up and he slept for a few hours. Something woke him up in the wee hours of the morning though and he went to check it out. Turned out it was just a deer looking for something to eat.
After a couple more hours in his bedroll he continued along the Gold to Gottshaw and Brina Cross Inns. No big business was done though and he continued to the abandoned camp along the way to the big estate not far away, where some ogres currently run the place... biggrin.gif
Yay, Lothran's on his way out to the Gold Coast! Buffy did that quest to rescue the ogres too. She had never seen one before and thought they were all nice just like those. You can imagine her surprise when later she met one on the road and tried to say 'hi'! She learned quickly though (well, for a woodster). Much later, ogres became mortal enemies for life when Buffy found one eating a dead Legion Rider's dead horse. sad.gif
Buffy's in Bravil at the moment, leisurely working her way down to Leyawiin where she'll catch a ship to Anvil.
Will she be conducting business in Leyawiin or will she just get on the boat? Also, I thought she was in the Isles.. huh.gif
Knowing Buffy, it'll take her a dozen dungeons to get from Bravil to Leyawiin. That said, she so hopes she can find Lothie in Anvil!
Between you and me, the SI shot we put on her Potpourri thread is a few days old. No moss grows under Superian's hoofs. Lol.
Ulvan has made it to Chorrol.
Luckily Jaffure understood that Ulvan just wanted to get rid of that amulet and go his own way so maybe Ulvan will be in no danger at all anymore and not have to lie to his mother.........knowing Ulvan this is not likely that mouth of his has got him in more trouble than a blade ever could.
Lothran has arrived in Anvil smile.gif He met with M´aiq outside the gates and then with the stable folks. Now, as evening has also arrived in Anvil, he´s resting at the Count´s Arms inn.
(Oh, how I love this game!! happy.gif)
It was after midnight when the Imperial Trading Company ship Barenziah's Breeze slipped into her berth at Anvil. Buffy knew the stable hands would all be asleep and decided not to use her Call of Corsair power to bring Superian to her from the Leyawiin stable until morning. Making her way to the guild, Carahil was the only mage still up. Finding an empty bed, she collapsed, exhausted.
Kahreem of Weet is back in jail! rollinglaugh.gif Actually he has just been released. Let us join him.
Frost Fall 22, 3E433 4:48 pm
Days Passed: 75
Days Jailed: 14
Active Quests: 15
Quests Cmptd: 5
Bounty: 40
Infamy: 7
Items Stolen: 499
Hours Slept: 679
Hours Waited: 49
After just one day, the Recalcitrant Redguard is released from jail to a warm, rainy night. The Kahrem of Weet wastes no time stripping off his jail-issued shirt and tossing it onto the ground, right in front of the Castle Bravil's main door.
"There. You guys can keep that," he says with a smirk. "Ohhh, if Palonira could see me now ha ha ha!"
Kahreem is glad it is night-time, and that it's also rainy. He is glad because he has just one final task to do before leaving Bravil, and it's a task he must accomplish, even if he gets caught. The night will make it hard for folks to see him. The rain will make it hard for folks to hear him. ... And there's just one thing on his mind.
"Skoooma. Skooma in this town. So much skooma, I could smell it in the air," he says, his heart already racing with fervor.
"Say it", says a guard coldly as he walks past.
"The night is young, guard."
Now that he's back on the street, Kahreem feels his old confidence again. Bravil's castle may have been too much for him to handle, but the actual houses in Bravil are dark, and seem easy to sneak around. Bravil's residences also feature plenty of flats, which are seperated into levels. There are three levels in total. It helps that the first place he plans to visit happens to be located on the very top.
"I'll be able to sneak up, and sneak in, the guard will never notice!"
Guards may have the streets of Bravil covered, but they don't seem to come to these top areas.
"Should be a cinch!"
He makes his way quickly back to his home: an apartment formerly owned by City Swimmer. As he returns, he notes the twin watermelons he's left on each side of the door are still here. He waits a bit, and then sneaks inside of the dead Argonian's room.
Middas, 11:36 pm
g-wop! ... g-wop!
Trenus Duronius stands outside of Bravil's most famous skooma den, having a sip of the drug.
g-wop!
It is raining out here, but Trenus barely notices. His clothes are soaked. He tries the door *click* but it is still locked. As usual, he's been locked out of the den. Good thing he's still got a bottle to suck on, after all these hours.
Trenus Duronius ... is a skooma-sucker.
Over the past year, he's become wildly addicted to the stuff. He rarely eats. He rarely sleeps. Skooma ... skooma .. got to get me some skooma. It's become almost a mantra in his life. His former friends have scattered. His former position in life, tarnished.
Trenus once lived a comfortable life in the Imperial City, waking early and spending time walking its various districts. Praying in the Temple of the One, and chatting with locals. But all that's in the past. Bravil has become his second home, and Bravil's top commodity has become his favorite pasttime.
g-wop!
...he has yet another suck upon his bottle. Unlike Kahreem (who prefers to drink it all at once), Trenus tends to suck lightly upon his bottles, making them last. The drug is ingested through his lips and tongue, and in this way he manages to keep a constant skooma buzz while he's here in Bravil.
Trenus is so engrossed in his habit, he fails to notice the Redguard who comes up from behind.
"Oh...hello. Sorry, didn't mean to frighten you. Kinda wet out here, eh?"
Kahreem has already started his evening off with a bottle of Cheap Wine, and he's feeling the warmth within him now. He's wearing jail-issued pants, but has his enchanted fur skin boots plus a pair of leather gauntlets on, just in case he needs a little protection. And he's still shirtless.
"Go ahead, please", Trenus the addict says, trying to keep a steady tone in his voice.
"I'm Drels. Drels the Redguard, from the castle Bravil. Um...listen. See, I've got this writ. I need to serve a summons, here. The usual background stuff, one hand washes the other, and all that."
As the Weet Bandit communicates this, the man he speaks to can't help but bring his bottle (it's a BIG bottle, Karheem notices) back to his lips again and again.
"Amantius Allectus was killed during a burglary," says Trenus, his eyes completley bloodshot, his brain not entirely comprehending what Kahreem is telling him. "They say the house was ransacked."
"You don't say? ...An entire house ransacked? What a disgrace!" Kahreem throws his arms up in frustration, as though he's never done any ransacking himself ... "Well listen, friend. I'm going to need your help."
"Go ahead".
"This uh..... writ I need to serve. Skooma is illegal in Cyrodiil, did you know that? Of course you do, you're a smart guy. Anyways, Castle Bravil has sent me here, to follow through on few things. The count knows about the skooma, but is willing to let the whole matter slide, as long as a certain fee is paid, and that's my job. I'm going to need to go inside of this skooma den, and serve this writ, collect my fee, and be gone. ... Or the count's gonna shut down this skooma den."
At this, the skooma-addicted Imperial flinches. "I'm listening".
"I mean let's be honest, sir, this IS a skooma den, right? ...Here you are, sucking on the stuff right in front of me aha-ha ha-! But don't worry. I won't call the guards on you, if you promise to look the other way."
Kahreem spends several minutes buttering Trenus up, getting him on his side. It's a good step to take before breaking in.
12:44 am
Once inside, both Trenus and Kahreem quickly get to work. Trenus makes a quick snatch of one more bottle, and then leaves. Kahreem takes more time, searching the upstairs first, and then moving back down. The place smells of body odor and (of course) skooma. People are passed out upon several beds.
"Lots of folks live here. Strange. How do they get away with it?"
He finds an unlocked chest with three bottles of the stuff, grabs these, and throws them in his sack. Oddly there is a second chest, this one locked, but it does not contain any drugs. So this is it. Three bottles. Better than none.
Kahreem feels tempted to just open a bottle right here and gulp it down, but his plans are rudely interrupted.
"Welllll now, LOOK WHAT WE HAVE HERE!" a guard says, walking slyly in the skooma den itself. "I'm confiscating your stolen goods. Now pay your fine, or it's off to jail!"
"He went that way sir!" the Weet Bandit explains, pointing towards the door. "He's the man you're looking for! I saw him break in! Think he ran off with a buncha skooma!"
"Then PAY WITH YOUR BLOOD!" the guard replies, not believing this story. SHINK!
|_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_||_|
Turdas, 2:04 am
Out in the field! .... Kahreem finds himself running away from Bravil, armed only with a rusty daggar, while the guards make pursuit!
"You should have PAID THE FINE!"
As he rushes across the bridge, a guard strings his bow, aims and fires. Kahreem notices the Imperial skooma addict (the one who had also been present during the skooma heist) is now calmly walking out of the town.
"DON'T ATTACK ME! ... HE'S THE ONE WHO'S GOT ALL THE SKOOMA! ARREST HIM!"
But the guards ignore Kahreem. The Weet Bandit runs out of Bravil with all his energy, a Redguard adrenaline rush fueling him on.
"No way I'm partin' with all this!" ...he says, eventually running upon a sandy beach. "Jail's gonna have to wait!"
He finally finds a large rock to hide behind. Once he feels he is safe, he has a look inside his night sack, and feasts his eyes upon his latest booty.
"Funny how that works. Skooma is an illegal substance, yet it's also illegal to steal it. Go figure."
He then takes a bottle in his hand, and contemplates just uncorking the damn thing right here and now.
http://imgur.com/x3JukGg cut through the woods from Skingrad to Bravil. He’s looking for an invisibility spell.
A creepy urban Bosmer followed him out through the vineyards and into a bandit camp where Selador watched his unarmed and unarmored stalker punch the bandit to death. Selador got the heck away from there.
He investigated an isolated house and was surprised by its hostile, axe-wielding occupant. He decided to bring her along (against her will) for the rest of his walk. That led to an unfortunate tussle with a wolf. The wolf died. Selador does not think things through.
He later met an Imperial Forester who had something that caught Selador’s eye. A bow with silver overlays. He wants one. Now he has a reason to go into some shops.
The worst time for losing her seems to be when your character is just starting to see Will-o-the-wisps. She's never got an enchanted weapon, so she's vulnerable until she gets Daedric. I've found her floating in the Niben outside the lodge a few times.
At least the PC lets you make her essential (if you remember).
Lothran left Anvil in the middle of the night. He followed the shore eastwards and then went north and is now resting at Shetcombe Farm. Morning has come so he will soon go further north to Chorrol.
Who knows? Maybe he´ll stumble upon the decrepit avatar or Maxical on the way? wink.gif
Posted by: mirocu May 13 2013, 03:19 PM
Lothran went to the Market District yesterday to sell some weapons found on the road. He also took the opportunity to recharge Targetfinder at Calindil´s.
After that he went to the Arcane University and was just in time for a lecture on the Doomstones scattered across Cyrodiil. Most fascinating, he thought, and wished the lecture was a bit longer...
He then went along to make a second bound shield spell, but without the Spriggan helper this time. A couple of other helpful extras went into it though smile.gif
I don't want Ulvan to got into that "mode" again.
Posted by: PhonAntiPhon May 14 2013, 06:02 PM
Niamh is out in the far east of Cyrodiil, pushing against the borders of the province.
There's much to see out here and the old ruins and caves don't disappoint with a certain amount of bounty and a degree of danger - (lots and lots of Wampyres and Necromancers out here).
It's not like she needs to sell the stuff she gets, she has a decent nest egg at home in Bravil, but the skull and staff collections are coming on nicely and there are some really quite decent bits of kits to be found.
Mostly though it's for fun, and Fun is not something she's had much of. Niamh has Looch to thank for that and I believe she knows it too, certainly the presents and notes she leaves her upon arrival and before departing would seem to betray a certain "infatuation" with the Breton, but a healthy one - and one that is increasingly reciprocated.
It's good to see and to be honest your humble narrator is really quite happy with that...
...as for the future?
Well for the time being that can take care of itself.
----
Skip forward somewhat.
Niamh's been attacked by wampyres in her home in Bravil, and, having made sure Looch is safe in the Lodge, has travelled back to Jenseric in the IC. Jenseric has set her on a path to uncover some rather nefarious activity, to say the least.
Niamh stays the night in her shack on the waterfront, but is attacked there again and is forced to spend the rest of the dark hours in the relative anonymity of the abandoned shack a little further down.
The next morning she sets out, on what should hopefully be a voyage of discovery and an ultimate closure, and safety for her and Looch...
[SKIP]...
Roland directed her to the road to Cheydinhal, apparently there are marauding wampyres along that road and travel has been limited pretty much to daylight only. Cheydinhal being not that far from the Imperial City, users of that road had been able to move along it over much of the span of the day and night, previously.
Niamh jumps at the chance to check out the rumours, not least because she has personally been targeted twice and additionally she's somewhat worried about Looch - (a rather novel feeling that she kind of enjoys, even V had not made her feel this way). Besides any dead wampyre is a good thing.
We leave her for the moment on a daylight trek to Cheyd., there to catch up with the Guild and it's members there - (you know who I mean). She can use her influence to get a message to Bravil, for Looch.
She's planning to hang about until maybe 2100, then set out back to the Imperial City; using herself as bait.
(Looch won't know that, though).
The day is sunny here in Anvil. As a schooner ship pulls up to the docks, a lone traveller gets off, stretches her legs, and stands in the sun a moment.
The sun feels good, here in Anvil.
Middas, 8:56 AM, 4th Era 438
As the lone traveller walks upon Anvil's docks, all Oblivion breaks loose! A sudden flurry of citizens are fighting. One (a magic-user in blue robes) summons a scamp. Before she knows it, a couple of these brawlers are dead, as everybody on the dock lends a helping hand at ending the fight.
The lone traveller walks up to one of these fallen fighters: an elf lady in a fine red dress. Carefuly, the lone traveller searches this fallen lady while nobody seems to be looking. She finds a silver daggar and 10 gold, and takes all of this. She will need everything she can get in preparation. Some of her things were stolen before she started the boat ride on the schooner several day ago.
"Welcome back to Cyrodiil", this lone traveller says to herself.
"Welcome to the Flowing Bowl. I'm Maenlorn. My twin's name is Caenlorn. How to tell us apart? I'm in brown. He's in blue. Simple, really."
"Yes I have knowledge of whom you are, we have already met. Long ago. You may not have memories of who I am."
"The Count went missing about fifteen years ago. No one knows what happened to him. Lady Millona rules County Anvi." Maenlorn says this, assuming the Lady before him is interested. "Her ladyship has no intention of remarrying. Liked her first Count well-enough, I guess, and doesn't fancy a replacement."
"Oh! How dreadful!" says the lone traveller. "Perhaps I can someday present my assistance, but for now...I need to present myself with a bed. And have you such for renting?"
Maenlorn does not offer a room for her to sleep, unfortunately. The place is all booked up.
"Okay," greets the other twin. "Guess who I am? Caenlorn or Maenlorn?"
"You ... are Caenlorn. The twin in blue."
"Right. You remembered! The one in blue!"
"Blue and brown. Caenlorn and Maenlorn. 'Tis happenings of folly, that you two should take such simple choices, and not ever make deviance or eschewation."
Hungry and bedless, but also happy and entertained. This is how the lone traveller spends her first night back in Cyrodiil.
Renee, did you break down and get a PC and some mods (like alternate start)? Or are you still using imagination-fired non-PC mods like, in this case, taping a small picture of a ship to the lower portion of your TV screen? tongue.gif
Now that's a fine idea, Acadian! I'll use the illustration on the DVD box set that I already use for "compass delete" as part of the story! laugh.gif
Yesterday Kjestrid discovered the UOP. It fixed the fire in her Bruma house, yay! But it also “fixed” her awesome fire ritual greaves, rendering them not at all awesome. Boo. But it was nice to fish those torches out of the fire.
Till next winter I´m gonna give Lothran some proper fire too. I already took away the torches he´s been using for the last five years or so, so it´s all set. If I could just make meself download that mod... tongue.gif
Taking the torches out first would have been a much better way to do it! laugh.gif
Wilbur : "I'm Wilbur, owner and proprietor of the Count's Arms. We make beds and food available to guests. Can I help you?"
Lone Traveler: "Hello. I have recently made journeys here from faraway. Traveled here by boat..."
Wilbur: "Buildings here look different ... Why? ... This is the Gold Coast style, like in Hammerfell. Eastern towns look grey and dull to me."
The Lone Traveller bites her tongue. She thinks to herself that she's a changed woman now. Her old self might have made some snarky comment in reply to the Redguard proprietor, with his inflated opinions. But she has changed.
She bites her tongue.
Lone Traveler: "Well yes. I did try the Flowing Bowl, but the place is all ... booked up. Maenlorn and Caenlorn did not even make offerings towards assisting me with a place to rest."
She bites her tongue again. Maenlorn and Caenlorn. Wood Elves. In the past, she had many issues with these, the ones who had been living here in Cyrodiil, anyways. But she has changed. After many years amongst her friends and family, elders and youngsters, she has changed for the better. She hopes this is so, anyways. The elders had given her lots of wise advice, and the youngsters reminded her that life is not to be taken quite so seriously.
Wilbur: There's a wonderful room available. It's the BEST I have, and you can use it for the night for a mere ... 25 gold. Interested?"
"I accept your terms and pricing, Sir Wilbur."
"Excellent! It's up the stairs there, and then directly across the hallway. Center room, wonderful view of the city. Sleep well!"
The Lone Traveler does sleep well, indeed.
"Cyrodiilic slumber. That was how I refered to such resting five years ago," she says, just before passing out.
Hmm... My first guess: has Lady Saga returned to Cyrodiil?
ETA: OK, I went back and looked at her pictures again. (Missed the dates the first time.) Yay! smile.gif
Whee! smile.gif
You did a great job with her!
Posted by: Renee Gade IV Jun 15 2013, 01:47 AM
thanks for your compliments. smile.gif Yeah, I just kinda felt an inspiration to be with Saga again, and I thought "what if I created her on Xbox?" smile.gif
That was my whole issue with her, well one of them. She was a PS3 character and it did not make sense that she's an explorer, but all the new DLC to explore is on Xbox. So the other day I decided if I could re-create her. It took two tries. I spent over an hour on the first try, but when I got her to Anvil I realized she looked too masculine. So I tried a second time, and I can definitely say she looks like the same goldenrod elf as the one on PS3.
The original Saga also had Conjuration as a Major, but I did not expect she would actually need this spell to survive, but turns out she did. The game levels upwards super-fast with Conjuration as a major, so this time, I think I got her skills more balanced.
The original Saga also got kicked out of the Mage's Guild, but the new one is going to give this another shot. She (and I ) really want to get to the Arcane University. I think if the original one had made it that far, she would have had a more successful 'career' as an adventurer.
I'm going to only post here from now on with my new charcter.
Beth admins have annoyed me(not allowing NPC Convo threads all of a sudden,not allowing What are you listening to threads,etc)
Name:Jack Dennius
Age:18
Height:5''11
Weight:180lbs
Bio:Jack was apart of a rich noble family back in Skyrim,and well,he wasn't the nicest of kids,he was basically a rich snobish bully,yet he still had many friends,because of his money,but all of his other friends were also rich snobs.His mother and father couldn't be any more diffrent,they were kind,loving,generous souls,Jack took them for granted,he didn't know how good he had it until that faithful Sundas in Sun's Dawn,the farm just outside of Whiterun,the farm where jack lived was raided and destroyed.But that wasn't all Jack's parents were killed and Jack was almost kidnapped but he ran away,the invaders were there to kidnap Jack,kill no one and put him up for ransom,but thanks to a bumbling bandit who knocked over a candle setting the place on fire,an angry bandit who attempted to kill the bumbling bandit accidently shot Jack's mother and had to kill his father who ran at him.Now this isn't a revenge story,this isn't a story of a knight or wizard,this is the story a young man with a small amount of skill when it comes to blades,no skill in armour or magic or anything else really,trying to make it in an unfamiler world with little to no money.
Jack knows he'll never find the bandits who killed his parents,Jack knows they've died in vain,Jack knows he shouldn't of acted in the ways he did,Jack wants to change,well a little atleast.
Jack wants another thing to,his fourtune,he wants to be a noble,he couldn't stay in Skyrim,so he sneaked onto a boat to Cyrodiil,he has the mentallilty of fiddy,coz Jack is going to get rich or die trying.
Hopefully the former.
Yes I made a 50 Cent refrence in an Oblivion charcter bio.
Back to Breeva's journey, I have found her doing more of the same; which are odd jobs for the chapels.
She has just finished delivering food for the poor in Skingrad, so now she is making her way back to the chapel in Bravil; her home. It is then she will be given her next mission.
Redemption is hard wink.gif
