I've heard songs with longer intros, but at least once it finally gets going its a good song. But I generally fast forward through that bit biggrin.gif

Yeah, when something is that repetitive, I have to fast forward through it too.

I'm a long-time fan of the conducting of Klaus Tennstedt. At his best, his performances displayed a certain emotive urgency and intensity that, in my opinion, others seldom equalled. I am fortunate in recently stumbling on an excerpt from his 7 Jan 1984 MET performance of Beethoven's (sole) opera Fidelio; The Leonore Overture No.3 (for orchestra only). I could go on, but the uploader appears to have been a member of the MET orchestra at the time of the is performance and gives a far better account of it in his description than I ever could.

I sometimes listen to classic music in my excavator. Makes me feel above everyone else biggrin.gif

Or rather, I find it nice to listen to when I need a break from the commercial radio stations :eacko:

During my latest too rare excursion into music listening I could not resist what is pound for pound my favorite of Joseph Haydn's over one-hundred symphonies, that being No.88 in G major. What's more, I find that my favorite in-concert live video recording of it was re uploaded to YouTube early this year. I won't subject you to the entire piece, but link its joyous final movement. One thing that makes this performance ultra special for me is that at its official conclusion, Bernstein gives as encore a repeat of the finale. The manner in which he does so makes me tear up as often as not.

Here is the link to the finale and its encore, Leonard Bernstein leading the Vienna Philharmonic.

Love me some Kenny Wayne Shepherd. I saw him in concert once. Fantastic!

Last Goodbye is my favorite song of his. I even love the video. At first he just looks like an ordinary pawn broker. But about half way through I realized that he was more like a sin-eater. People were divesting themselves of the things that they loved, but could no longer live with. And he was the one who took all those things onto himself.

The self titled album by The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble. Very atmospheric, and well... dark, lol

Why the hell can't Khajiit find that awesome version of "Paint it Black" featured on Westworld? This one wants it for his Spanish guitar and Mariachi playlist!
