Chorrol.com _ Oblivion _ Post Your Character

Posted by: SubRosa Jul 7 2010, 03:09 AM

I am sure it has been done before, but I did not see one of these threads in the list of recent ones. Post a pic or two of the character(s) you are currently playing or have played, and tell us a bit about them if you like to roleplay a bit.

To start it off here is my current character Lilith, whom I am currently doing the Dark Brotherhood questline with. She is a Nibenean (a custom race I made) archer/macewoman. She is the daughter of Claudius Arcadia. Raped and left for dead by Rufio, she is back for vengeance not only upon him, but the entire world. The only time she feels any control over her existence is when she kills, and she is becoming a control freak (sorry, I just watched a couple of Dennis Miller specials, and now my wit is feeling like handful of razorblades at a Freddy Kruger convention).

My previous character was Morghak gra-Durug, and Orc Crusader. She is the daughter of a noblewoman from Orsinium, and grew up in the shadow of her old sister, who always seemed to better at everything. Sick of being second fiddle, she left home and traveled to Cyrodiil to prove her worth. She did it by becoming champion of the Arena, taking the name The Iron Maiden (hey, I love the band, so I could not resist).

The character before that was Ophelia (yes Hamlet and all), a Breton battlemage. Ophelia was a Mythic Dawn sleeper agent living in Bravil. Young, restless, wanting to do something meaningful with her life and feeling stifled and frustrated with a merely ordinary existence, she was a ready convert to the MD's message that the Nine Divines were usurpers who overthrew Lorkhan and have repressed humanity for the last umpteen thousand years. She was ready to save the world and lay down her life for the cause. Only unfortunately for her the Oblivion Crisis came and went without her ever receiving any orders. Left adrift in the aftermath, with no one even caring enough to hunt her down, she went from one Daedric shrine to another seeking to recapture the meaning of her life once more. Finally, after a rain of cheese in Niben Bay (thank you Jacki!), she found the Shivering Isles, and realized that this was what she was meant for. In time she became the Champion of Madness, Duchess of Mania, and finally the new and sexier Sheogorath.

Wonderful stuff, SubRosa!

I only know how to play one character of course, and you know her well. For those who don't however. . .

Buffy is a young mystic archer. Her mother was a Bosmer merchant in Bravil and her father a Breton vampire hunter. Orphaned by the age of twelve, she was raised by the city of Bravil. Daenlin took her on as an archer apprentice, and Kud-Ei recognized her talent for magic. As soon as she was old enough, she joined the guild of mages and eventually graduated from the Arcane University, specializing in illusion.

The bow is her passion, and she views magic as a tool to be a better archer and to compensate for her refusal to touch melee weapons. In fact, the only weapon she will touch is her bow, Slayer.

A typical long range attack might be a combination spell that drains a target's speed and weakens them to poison. That is immediately followed by a poisoned arrow from the shadows with devastating results. When confronted up close, she will cast a spell to immobilize her foe, then open fire with Slayer. Crowds are thinned by illusion mind control type spells that allow her foes to kill each other off. Combat underwater is by blocking with her bow and casting absorb health touch spells.

Physically, she is short - the same height as a male Bosmer (0.9), and slightly built (body by BAB). She has low strength and endurance and that will never change. Although she can't carry much, her precious mare is equipped with saddlebags and can carry as much as, well, a horse. She is level twenty and her skills were selected so she can level no higher. She changes clothes a dozen times a day to suit her purpose and dresses only for fashion.

She owns a home in Bravil, but loves to travel and explore. She also loves Tamikas wine, waterfalls, hunting, camping and visiting her many friends.

She travels in the company of an old ethereal paladin named Acadian who sometimes offers advice. Sometimes she listens. Buffy considers herself a simple elf from Bravil trying to live her life and survive in the beautiful but sometimes dangerous province of Cyrodiil.

Buffy has a short attention span, will probably never rise to the top of her guild and often has multiple unfinished quests and research projects ongoing. Although quick to assign herself the role of judge, jury and executioner with a vengeful streak, she will not kill innocents and is very loyal to her friends. She has developed what she calls the 'Buffy Doctrine' and lives by it:

If you are kind to me, I will love you dearly. If you are mean to me or my friends, I will likely kill you.

The toga pic must be from the Arcane University! Why am I expecting John Belushi to be behind her? wink.gif

What mod is the brown and green retexture of the elven armor she is wearing in the waterfall picture? It looks very foresty.

Heh, toga!

That great armor is from Brash's beautiful Wood Bows & Leather Armors: http://oblivion.brashendeavors.net/bows/

Don't let the fact that Brash says it is a test version fool you. It has been working great for many players for a long time. smile.gif

Buffy uses a version of the mod converted by Ceedee to better fit her Biu's Adventuress Body (BAB). Let me know if you need a link to the Bab version.

I play on the console so no pictures, but I will participate by giving you a feel for my current character:

Hrolf of Skal, a.k.a Hrolf Half-Blind and Hrolf the Legless is a Nord warrior turned drunkard living modestly as a hunter in Bruma. When he’s not out killing deer or watching Legion Foresters shoot each other to death (stupid Imperials!), he can be found exercising his elbow and living up to his various names with his buddy, Ongar the World Weary, at Olav’s Tap and Tack.

He is recently returned from an involuntary stay in the Imperial City dungeon over the little matter of a comely Dunmer lass that he deflowered during a drunken binge in Cheydinhal. He vows that he will never hire out to a trade caravan again! The woman’s name was Llathasa or something, but everyone kept calling her ‘lady’. All he remembers about her is that she wore silk and smelled really good. Her husband didn’t take the news well at all when he found out. Hrolf made it all the way to the Bloated Float in the Imperial City where he was in the process of upholding Nordic honor by drinking a Redguard named Isleif under the table when the Imperial watch found him (stupid Imperials!).

Hrolf was visited by a number of hallucinations while sweating through the DTs in the Imperial City dungeon. In one of them the Emperor of all Tamriel came into his cell and set him free. He vaguely remembers being bitten by rats and bashing some goblins; and something about the jaws of Oblivion, illegitimate children, and being told that he seemed like a bard from the way he fought, but none of it makes sense to him. He awoke dirty and hung-over on a rock along the shore of Lake Rumare. All he had on his person was a pair of sack cloth pants, some rough leather armor, a big iron warhammer, eight beautiful sweating bottles of ale, and a jeweled necklace that he believes came from his Dunmer conquest in Cheydinhal. He refuses to speculate how he was able to smuggle the necklace past the guards who took him to his cell (stupid Imperials!).

He briefly tried to make a go of it in the Arena, but those idiots were genuinely trying to kill him! The Redguard who booked the matches paid him the same as some tree-hugging fetcher from Falinesti . . . the man acted like he had never seen a genuine son of Skyrim before! After that he swore off anything having to do with the so-called Empire (stupid Imperials!) and returned to Bruma. At least he got a free set of armor out of the deal, but given the climate of Bruma the dress that the Redguard gave him wasn't of much use. He thinks that he can unload the armor and the necklace with his buddy Ongar, if he can ever pin the man down enough to make him realize that the fact that he is a fence for the Thieves Guild is the worst-kept secret in Bruma!

Awtwyr Draghoyn:

My Pride and Joy! He never thought anything too important would happen to him. Well, he never thought that anything too important would happen to him after he turned 15. Enlisting in the Legions at age 16, and spending eight years, for two full tours, in the Empire's service, he pretty much hoped to be able to use the skills to settle down, maybe do some mercenary work, and live out his days doing honest, productive work in some small hovel in the mountains.

Life, as they say, has a way of interfering. After an extremely dubious arrest by a certain over-zealous watch captain (The Grey Fox Is A Myth!!!!), he ended up meeting the emperor, failing to prevent his assassination, and then rescued and befriended the new, yet to be crowned emperor.

So, after a whole-lotta training, and experiencing, he eventually helped Emperor Martin Septim save all of Tamriel.

Alas, I don't have my Oblivion disk right now, so whilst I still have my low level gear, I can't create the screenshots of Awtwyr using that gear. I'll post that soon.

For now, I present, in all his epic rage, Sir Awtwyr Draghoyn, Champion of Cyrodiil, Order of the Dragon, Knight Brother of the Blades. Preparing to dish out some epic rage on an Oblivion world.

Bohwynn Arrueax is a Dunmer, Avenger (custom) Class. His father was killed by Conjurors while adventuring in Morrowind. He has but one purpose in life - avenging the death of his father. He searches caves, dungeons, and ruins for rogue mages and dispatches them with satisfaction. Of course, any other baddies he finds during his search achieve the same demise.

I'm necro-ing this thread, because I have a character to add:

CHARACTER STUDY 1

Kallis Nic an Ghoill

5'7'' - athletic build

Long black hair with a touch of red in it, normally tied up in a rough ponytail.
Blue skin, piercing green eyes; has the look of a relatively young woman - her race is youthful, in general - even though in reality she's into triple figures.

The piercings in her ears are a mark of military rank - (she's what we would call a lieutenant Colonel, I guess) - and the tattoo on her forehead, similar to that which Eilidh has, marks her out as having a presence at court as well - (namely Eilidh's fathers court).

She's been in the military practically all of her life, and in active service for forty years or more, rising to the rank that she has through sheer hard work and above all, Focus. And focused she is, too, indeed she comes across as a fairly serious individual, not overly given to levity and with a strong sense of duty, allied with an unshakeable belief in the system of which she is a part.
I would say that she has a strong sense of right and wrong, but that would be somewhat inaccurate. It would be more true to say that she has a strong sense of consequence allied to a sense that actions can be justified in the name of "getting a job done". She wouldn't necessarily, for example, kill someone out of hand, but you would not want to get in her way.

She's honorable and fiercely loyal, though more than a little impatient, which has in the past led to the odd impetuous episode. Such is her record in the field however, that her Superiors tend to turn a blind eye - she's good enough at what she does to have some leeway, is the prevailing opinion.

None of these character traits make her a terribly good party guest - (though to be fair she's not completely without a sense of humour and common social skills, her career in the military has given her a fairly "earthy" take on life and she's certainly happier mixing with the rank and file in her down time - which is not, admittedly, often) - nonetheless, allied with her undoubted good looks, overall she can come across as a little cold and intimidating, although only if you're not from her culture, or you've never really got to know her - (which few really do). In her world she's very much a person to be admired and courted, and it might surprise the rather more staid and backwards inhabitants of Cyrodiil to learn that she's been married twice, widowed twice, and has any number of quite highborn suitors willing to wait upon her, not to mention the respect and admiration of her lessers and peers - (for her skills as a soldier, and her influence and contacts. Gender it should be noted isn't really a factor, in this context). Her true partner though, is her Career, and it's a relationship that has blossomed.

She has been for a number of years the commanding officer of a particularly Elite cadre of soldiers within King Connor Mac Auley's army, soldiers who are sent on missions of the Utmost Secrecy that require discretion and no small amount of improvisation in the field. Such a mission is the one that she is on now, to look for the king's daughter, lost somewhere in Cyrodiil these two years gone, sent by her father; partly as a diplomat, partly as a spy, and partly to learn more about herself, and to grow from the experience.

Despite Eilidh's father's decree that she would be deemed a failure if she, Eilidh, did not report in to a messenger in the port city of An-vil every second month, he is nevertheless concerned that she has not done so, or at least not since the first time; Connor does love his daughter and wants her to be a good ruler, hence his actions; harshness on his part should not be taken to imply a lack of affection. Princess Eilidh's time in Cyrodiil is now up however, and nothing has been heard from her; at least nothing has been reported via either messenger, or King Connor's Chief Advisor Donal Mac Branain, who was intimately involved with coordinating the Princess' activities in Cyrodiil.
Nor indeed has anything been heard of another scout, the locating of whom was a peripheral aspect of Eilidh's mission: Oisin Mac Callum - MIA and wanted for questioning and\or summary judgement for dereliction of duty.

And so it is that Kallis has been sent to Cyrodiil: partly for her skill, partly for her discretion and loyalty, and partly because she and Eilidh had grown close prior to Eilidh herself being sent to this foreign land.
The fact that Kallis has been sent and not Donal, nor any of his spy network and indeed, the fact that Donal has not even been informed, is not lost on Kallis...

-X-

A Note on Kallis' Name:
Anglicised, Kallis' name is Kallis Gill, and in its original form it means roughly: "Kallis, daughter of the son of the stranger", what this means really is that Kallis' parents are unknown, either through Kallis' abandonment or their death.
As a foundling or orphan, she would have become automatically a ward of the crown and therefore conscripted to military training and ultimately service. many who end up in this life falter, but Kallis is above all a survivor, and has flourished and risen to become the woman she is today.

This is very impressive particularly since her culture - not only a monarchy - but also highly stratified along class divides, means that people like her would have entered into society at the very bottom. The fact that she has found her way to somewhere close to the top in considerably less than even half her lifespan is a really very great achievement, and one that she has given much thanks for in her private chapel in her apartments in the regimental barracks.

-X-

Little bit late, but here is https://imgur.com/1I6mL6M She is a Dunmer Nightblade born under the sign of the Lady. Currently level 17, she just became the Champion of Cyrodiil, and is on her way to becoming a respected member of both the Fighter's and Mage's guild.

At the moment, she is on her way to Anvil to purchase a home for herself.

Shard of Moonshadow, I think it was called? It showed up in my inventory after the Daedric Artifact quest. I initially thought it was a secondary award from Azura, since you have to give up the Star, but now I'm thinking it was part of a mod. Immersive Weapons, maybe.

Huh? The only way you can give up the Star is to give it to Martin, and that's your choice. You can always give him one of the others (I usually pick the Wabbajack). Must be a mod change.

This is what I meant. I just went for the suggested target, since Melora didn't know where to find any other shrines.

It has to be Immersive Weapons. My load order is tiny, and I have no other weapon mods.

So I tried getting into Nehrim again but it felt hollow compared to Oblivion so I'm playing Oblivion instead.

Anyways, here's https://i.imgur.com/ZBgE756.png. His name and game stats say he's a Breton, but he's supposed to be a Reachman. It's okay, though, because every game they show up they're just poorly-dressed Bretons with face paint (at least in ESO they have funny accents to set them apart) At least people are slightly less mean to him.

He's supposed to have a messy beard, but those don't exist in Oblivion.

He's afraid of shiny knights you typically find in High Rock, but for some reason Cyrodiil has that kind, too. For that reason he tends to avoid settlements, but now he's inside a fancy hotel inside an even fancier city. Bad, but he has septims so he believes he has a right to be there.

He doesn't own a shirt, which is troubling because I distinctly remember him having a really nice Mithril shirt the last time I left him. Personally, I wouldn't' wear mail without something underneath, but then I don't own one. I don't think he does anymore, either.

Basically, we're off to a really awkward start. He's level 9. I can't exactly remember his skills, but it's something barbarian-y with Alteration spells thrown in.

I've never dabbled in alchemy, so yesterday I rolled a bard because alchemy is one of their primary skills. I have an idea of a traveling bard who'd make a living by collecting various ingredients, brewing potions or poisons and then sell them to various merchants.

The bard's name is Jes, he's a young Breton man and together we're learning principles of alchemy. I used a custom start, he came to Cyrodiil from the east, and I gave him a novice mortar & pestle with the console but he got lucky early on and found other required apparatus in some fort. Pretty cool start, right?

Hey, tell me about it. For some reason, the Crow boy enjoys my Redguard thief stories. I have no idea why, and I've tried to come up with some answer. laugh.gif I have no idea what I'm doing right there. He'll also read and comment on my rare Joan updates. But he doesn't read all my stories. He won't touch RG3, for instance, or Saga, since I moved her over to PC. I think that has something to do with it. For instance, if I moved Kahreem over to PC he would stop reading those no matter how funny they are.

Don't worry Crow, that ain't gonna happen. tongue.gif Kahreem will stay in the world of the Xbox.

Posted by: mirocu Dec 20 2017, 08:59 PM

Honestly I don't know why I read some stories and not others. Well, I may glance through them without commenting. Kahreem is just a funny character, you know, all s***ts and giggles which is something I like. He takes what he does seriously but not without a great sense of humor, the odd craving and not without sometimes just doing whatever comes to mind.

It's just like irl; some people you like and some you don't and you don't always know why in either case smile.gif

Posted by: Renee Dec 21 2017, 03:52 PM

Yeah I know, mirocu, I understand. I'm just messin' with ya a little.

I always view stories sort of like products, like Coke or Pepsi. Some people like Coke, some people like Pepsi, some people like neither of these. So some people like Kahreem, some people like Joan, some people like Sarah, etc. Once that product is out there, it's sort of like the writer loses all control of what people will do, or interpret, or enjoy, etc.

The main exception is Buffy of course. Everybody likes Buffy (hint hint). wink.gif

I've got this concept for a witch-type of person. She'll be on PC, and will have a similar mod-set to Sarah. I.E. she will have some sort of familiar, for instance, and be able to fly around on a broom. Flying over Cyrodiil is just way too much fun, folks. smile.gif This new witch will be evil though, which is one main difference from Sarah.

She will also be able to speak to goblins, and will be friends with Goblin Jim. She will spend lots of time in caves and underground, but she'll probably get involved with Dark Brotherhood eventually. ph34r.gif She will be involved with Alchemy (mostly poisons ... hee hee hee!). What else? Probably be good with Illusion, Conjuring things. Not so hot with Destruction though. She's more about slipping around unseen, and having others do most of the work.

So .... all of that. I keep getting all these cool ideas. Can't think of a name though! I've been waiting for her name to 'come' to me, but it's been since the summer that I've been waiting.

Ideas so far: Some sort of play on Witch Hazel. Brunhilde is another idea. Broom Hilda has already been done though. I don't want to have a character named Broom Hilda. I wish that was MY original idea, or one of our original ideas.

I guess I'm looking for names of other famous witches. Maybe something will click. I want her to be Pisces too, so I've got roughly the next month.

Hhhhhh so I recently got an urge to play Oblivion, but like, not the character I've been trying to play for a while. I don't think I'll ever get back into him because there wasn't much to begin with.

Instead I'm running an old character, since it'll be easier to just jump in. Might keep Integration: The Stranded Light but i'm not sure. I'll decide by tomorrow.

Till then, here's https://68.media.tumblr.com/07a20d5bea86589c18a504658e5e1b7d/tumblr_nhq36iLVNc1slawspo1_1280.png!

Race: Breton
Class: Mage (the preset one, with Personality as the "third" attribute)
Birthsign: Atronach

A gifted mage who fancies herself a bard. Not a very successful bard, mind you, but her heart's in the right place. Probably. Values knowledge above all else, whether it's obscure spell formulae or dirt on the housewife that lives at the end of the street. She begins her adventure seeking quests to add to her fame, so naturally she ends up seeking out the Daedric Princes for power and glory, and the attention of the Prince she reveres most of all. And then she ends up in jail.

Monkey, nice job!

Posted by: Renee Mar 10 2018, 08:38 AM

She really is adorable. I like the whole knowledge thing she'll be going after too. Playing a bard-type is something I've never tried before. Interesting that you've gone with the standard Mage class instead of Bard. Will you be using all 7 Majors?

Lately I've returned to an idea I had awhile back, which is Friar Luck. bluewizardsmile.gif~ I have not created the guy yet, but it's interesting because I rarely make males for Oblivion. But lately I've been thinking of a bunch of ideas, and did some research on Friar Tuck, the priest from Robin Hood stories. I didn't know Robin Hood and his gang go back to the middle ages, with the earliest mention of Frere Tuk dating to the 15th century!

In some ways, Luck will be similar to Tuck. In other ways, he won't be. The real guy from the Middle Ages was hot-tempered and got thrown out of the monastery he was part of, due to his temper. By coincidence, Friar Luck's backstory will include getting thrown out Weynon Priory, and having a bounty on his head as he avoids society for awhile! This is how Luck's game begins; with him running from the law for some reason.

But there are other ways Luck will not be like Tuck. Luck won't be fat, for instance. There won't be any Robin Hood NPC in Luck's game, in fact I'm thinking he won't have any companions at all, except a horse. Luck won't brandish swords & bows either. I'm thinking a quarterstaff mod is more his style, but so far I haven't been able to find anything like this. Monks are often associated with unarmed combat though for some reason, and so I'm going to finally try out Deadly Reflex for his game. :toughninja:

Oh, and he'll carry a https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/43370 around. biggrin.gif That'll be a cool mod to finally try out. Monks are often associated with unorthodox weapons like slingshots and nunchucks, in the tablegames I used to play.

He will be good with Restoration, Alteration, and perhaps some Illusion as well (for Calm spells). Since I have a lot of travelers who walk the roads, he will frequently assist people who get hurt.

Eventually, Luck will somehow get accepted back into society. I'm thinking though that he'll live in wilderness for a good while first though, out in some remote, abandoned cabin or whatever. I'm thinking of trying several quest mods for his game too. https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/12997 is one I've heard about for years now. This mod includes doing research for some sort of Archeology guild, which wouldn't really fit RG3's game (she's busy enough!). Since monks are often sages / scholars, maybe Lost Spires and some other quest mods I've read about will fit Luck's game eventually.

Oh, and his main favored Attribute will be .... guess?

Posted by: mirocu Mar 10 2018, 08:43 AM

A monk with a slingshot? Sounds like he'll aspiring to be Dennis the Menace biggrin.gif

Posted by: SubRosa Mar 10 2018, 05:11 PM

With a slingshot, maybe he should be named Bhart S'mps'n instead?

I cannot imagine what Luck's favored attribute might be! laugh.gif

She'll use some more than others, but yeah, she'll be using all of the skills that come with the class. I liked the idea of playing someone who aspires to be one thing, but is actually really, really good at another. No matter what she does she always ends up relying on her magical talents more than her persuasive skills, but she does make use of Speechcraft. It always ends up being tied with Restoration for the least developed active skill, and there's her stubbornness when it comes to Illusion, so it works out.

Then there's the whole made-up roleplay part where she develops what is straight up Tonal Magic in the form of magical song. (Read: Modded daily Powers) A compromise from late in her adventure.

Alright, here is a more detailed account of Mirelle, my current Oblivion character, who, in fact, is a recreation of my Morrowind character, so, in my head, she's continuing her adventures in Cyrodiil.

To start, I'll just copy here the bit I wrote in another post. smile.gif

"Mirelle rose to the rank of Telvanni Arch Magister... and she danced a very careful, balanced dance, since she was opposed to the less savoury aspects of her chosen Great House. She also became head of the Thieve's Guild and went on to lead the Temple; even though she wasn't sure either were a good fit, she did so because it seemed sound political strategy. Similarly... after becoming Nerevarine, she maintained close ties with the Blades, which has bearing upon her reasons for being in Cyrodiil. "

At the moment, Mirelle is especially skilled at Alchemy and Conjuration, while improving her abilities in Armourer. Although she has little use for the latter, personally, she finds it more economical to repair her companions' armour, rather than having to pay for it. She is also quite personable and lucky (well.. maybe).
However, she still has a very long way to go.. for owing to her rash, impetuous nature... she is very far from the able person that she had become on Vvardenfell...

Although Arch Magister of the normally isolationist House Telvanni, she is a shrewd tactician, and felt it advantageous to maintain carefully balanced ties with the Empire. To that end, she also remained in close contact with the Blades... Thus, when necromancy troubles in the Cyrodiil mage's guild arose, and rumours of strange new cults, as well as a plan to assassinate the emperor were uncovered by the Blades, they "requested" that Mirelle aid them. Though loathe to leave the land that had become her home, Mirelle's (in retrospect, overly hasty) marriage to a certain https://princessstomper.wordpress.com/2009/02/23/dance-of-the-three-legged-guar/ was rather shaky, and both felt that perhaps some time apart would help... (ahem)

Mirelle, however... although highly intelligent, is not exactly wise, and when it comes to more personal, or mundane, matters, she tends not to think things through. Therefore, having entirely forgotten how miserable she had been during her initial sea voyage to Vvardenfell, she decided that some sea air would be the perfect way to start clearing her head, and travelled by ship to Bravil, rather than making the journey overland. Although she could have travelled directly to the Imperial City, she reasoned that the less direct route would allow her to slip into the culture without notice. Of course.... extreme sea sickness commenced nearly the moment the ship left Vvardenfell, and she spent most of her time moaning in her bunk (NOT in a good way !), or with her head in a bucket. Greatly weakened, by the time she reached Bravil.. Mirelle needed to recuperate in the Mage's Guild before pressing on. It was here that she learned Emperor Uriel Septim VII had been assassinated...
In a quandary as to the best way to proceed, in addition to being extremely weak, Mirelle decided the best course of action would be to travel to the Imperial City, where hopefully, she would meet some travelling companions... which she did....
Remember I said Mirelle is not the wisest... ? laugh.gif

Wow, that is some transition! Mirelle looks fantastic, and so does your game!

Posted by: Lopov Oct 24 2018, 09:11 AM

That's one of the prettiest characters I've ever seen in Cyrodiil, yet doesn't look out of place at all.

Nice backstory, the part with the sea sickness made me chuckle. laugh.gif

Posted by: Renee Oct 24 2018, 01:21 PM

She does sound impetuous indeed. Rash and impetuous, kind of like my Renee Gade III. I like that Mirelle has quite a history, that always adds breadth to their roleplay, right?

What is that Princess Stomper sight all about? (I haven't got time to really read into it today).

Posted by: ArtemisNoir2 Oct 24 2018, 07:17 PM

@SubRosa,
Cheers! I was quite happy with that experiment. Obviously, given engine differences, and the fact I was trying to recreate one of Westly's lovely Morrowind head replacers, I didn't get it exactly. The shape of her eyes and mouth are a bit different, and that was the best I could do with the nose, but it definitely went better than on previous occasions where I've tried to achieve the same with characters.

@Lopov,
Thank you! I do typically try to make my characters reasonably attractive, but not over the top... So I avoid a lot of makeup, or extremely modern hairstyles, install realistic body proportions, and give them outfits that aren't overly revealing. Just personal aesthetic preference, really. smile.gif
lol! Well, partly, I felt the sea sickness worked well with her personality, and partly, it was an explanation for the fact that suddenly this seasoned heroine of Vvardenfell was almost as defenceless as a newborn. biggrin.gif

@Renee,
I have really found that making some effort to roleplay Bethesda games is very rewarding, and definitely helps. I'll admit, my preference, historically, is more toward Bioware/Obsidian/Larian style RPGs, which tend to focus heavily on narrative. However, I've always enjoyed Bethesda's change of pace in that regard. In short, I play games like Dragon Age when I want to be told a story, and I play Bethesda games when I want to tell a story. So, roleplaying and having a backstory when I play the Elderscrolls has become really important for me, and I find a thread that pulls those characters together in some way works well. Similarly, my Skyrim character has a connection to Mirelle (though she doesn't know that yet).
Anyway... sorry for the ramble.... biggrin.gif

The Princess Stomper page is just a link describing the quest and companion mod, "The Dance of the Three-Legged Guar." Mirelle married, Arnand, one of the characters in it.
