Whether they're in Commonwealth, Mojave or the Capital Wasteland, you're invited to post pics or write about homes of your characters. Today I'll show you Rattler's hideout in the Capital Wasteland, made by me. __ The Den of the RattlesnakeA distance west of Germantown Police HQ and east of Paradise Falls, on one of many hills in that area, there's a dilapidated shack partly built into a rock towering above it. It served as hideout for some junkies but a notorious slaver from Paradise Falls recently killed them, placed their remains on display and moved in. Now nobody dares to approach the shack anymore. View from belowScreenies taken at night make things more difficult to see but they're better for overall mood in this case. To the right there's a campfire, left of it there's a half-buried corpse of one of the junkies, lying right below wooden stairs leading to the shack. One junkie has been stuck on a pole to the left, one has been hooked right on the main door, and another one is hanging to the right of the entrance. View from the other sideThere's pile of junk to the right of the shack, along with a broken cabinet and some empty barrels. Paradise Falls can be seen in the background Going up the stairsright into the Den of the Rattlesnake, that can only be unlocked with the specific key. Welcome! That's what we see when stepping in. Looks quite scruffy and messy, doesn't it? There's a skeleton greeting us while eternally burning in the barrel with one of the junkies hanging on a chain right behind him. Planks on the left make way to "the loft". Obviously the one who lives there, likes cigarettes, jet and whiskey. View from the other sideSpecifically, from the burning gentleman's perspective. There's a table next to the door with one chair behind it, and one on the top of it. There's a broken refrigerator on the other side of the door and a mutilated arm of one of the junkies next to the lawn chair. Table full of flesh, and human at that. They're hard to spot but there are empty syringes all over the shack, implying the owner's addiction to Med-X. As more time passes, the shack will be even more messy, there'll be cigarette butts, empty packs and cartons and even more empty bottles tossed all over the place. Bathroom of sortlocated under the planks. View from "the loft"Not much is up there, only one dirty mattress and a view of another junkie. SsskullWhich was drawn by the new landlord. Time to meet him__

Well... I think it's safe to say that Rattler's home will never be featured in Better Homes & Gardens magazine. :lol; I think he needs some Feng Shui assistance too! Just kidding. Knowing Rattler, this is a perfect place for him. I want this home in my game when I finally get my first character rolling. Not that my character will live there; it'll just be this place nobody goes, because of all the rumors surrounding it. Is that a chair on top of a table I see in that final pic? Tsk tsk... That is a sweet den that suits our lovable Rattlesnake! Well, maybe not lovable, just misunderstood, or from a neglected childhood, or something... It really suits him. The creepy atmosphere and drifting rays of light through those shack walls are just perfect. I miss that look that FO3 achieved. I love that eternally burning skeleton. That is epic! I will post some pics from the Commonwealth next week.

QUOTE(Acadian @ Jul 31 2016, 10:27 PM) Good to know where he lives so we can avoid it and alert the bounty hunters. Better not unless you want the bounty hunters to get killed. Not that my character will live there; it'll just be this place nobody goes, because of all the rumors surrounding it. I'll make sure to surround that place with lots of powerful mines before I send the mod to you, in case any of yours decide to approach the shack nonetheless. Joke aside, Rattler's plan in the near future is to place lots of mines in a neat circle around the shack. QUOTE(SubRosa @ Aug 1 2016, 01:04 AM) Welcome to Lifestyles of the Rich and Conscienceless! Casa de Diablo Serpiente looks like scary place! I think Loviatar might not find it so bad. QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Aug 1 2016, 11:33 AM) That is a sweet den that suits our lovable Rattlesnake! Yeah, there must be something he wants to tell us through all those killings but his deeds fall on deaf ears... QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 1 2016, 02:30 PM) I have a few pics from my character´s Megaton home but it´s nothing special. Lots of teddy bears on the bed, that´s about it. Apart from various stuff in containers but you don´t see that on the pics anyway. Oh, and I have the nostalgic 50´s decoration.
I don't believe you until I've seen some pics. And TBH, I already forgot how the 50s decoration looks like.

Nice pad! I had visions of Loviatar living with Mutant gore bags and bodies hanging upside down from hooks. Love the computer and notes! She is obviously trying to cultivate a further side to her personality- next perhaps dinner with some fava beans and a nice chianti. Be careful with that lunchbox...ahh...bottlecap mine.

Wolf, both those places look great! The Sanctuary one almost looks like some of mirocu's home projects that went a mite astray. Love the anime posters in the gym. The Far Harbor cottage looks wonderfully cozy!

Uh oh, looks like The South's Gonna Do It Again in Sanctuary! Sanctuary may look a little dilapidated, but it sure is well defended! Neat that you can build a basketball court. Black Flag! The anime posters must be from a mod! But the W girl is missing? The fish tank is cool! But it looks like its about to burst! It's ED-E! And I even note a bobblehead. I love how the sponge even floats in the tub water. The Mr. House and Vera Keyes posters are some cool NV swag.

Both of Chalice's homes look great, I'm partial to the cottage myself, just because well I like cottages more. Sanctuary home seems really big, and even it comes with its own garage - how some about car or motorcycle mod? Hey, there's a dog too in the Garage and Workstation pic. I love the Enclave flag to annoy the Brotherhood. So the cottage is government property? A fisthank! How cool is that. I don't see any radfish, though. There's another pic to annoy the Brotherhood if they ever come inside the house. Is that House's pic on the wall in the last shot?

Acadian- Yes, it does look like Mirocu's house-building project™ has blown up the building. The only thing missing is bottlecaps and teddy bears everywhere. SubRosa- There are so many items in the workshop that I have not even touched the surface. I am only using a simple turrent defense. Heaps of people have trap door floors, spikes and poles that impale, laser weapons, pop-up items, spinning items that explode, everything! Ahh yes, the W girl. Thanks, I have just fixed that. She was downstairs talking to another poster. I have just put her back in her rightful place. Yes, it is a mod! Lopov- There are heaps of vehicle and motorcycle mods out there. Most only use the fast travel system but I have seen one that combines elements of the Automatron DLC into it. The modder put a chair ontop of a robot frame and you can sit on it and race around Boston. Looks great but the author said the roads were too bumpy and resulted in too many collisions. Yes, House gets a big tip of the hat in that mod! The Far Harbor house is great if you want to explore the south of the map. I have just found another cool mod that suits the top of the map. The house might be too similar to my south one which is my only complaint. Check it out!Sorry about the casino music...Lol. This post has been edited by Winter Wolf: Aug 7 2016, 10:11 AM

Renee- Thanks! Yes, Chalice lives in the Sanctuary settlement, which is the same area that your character starts the game at. The place looks very much run-down from the pristine place we see in the introduction. Most of the buildings can be scrapped for things like steel and wood and you can build your own grand structure in its place. Of course you can just leave it like that and drop down a bed and some storage and just play the game instead! Settlements are hit and miss for me. Some things I like, others not so much. Each settlement is a part of the same game cell and has no loading, so there must be a limitation there. House mods can still be downloaded and they work like old Beth games by loading to a separate cell. I just wish Beth gave me more story DLC and not more stupid settlement add-ons. ** One project I am toying with is building a house based on the Megaton floor plan. It is nice and simple and makes me long for the brilliant FO3 again. Unfortunately I do not have access to workbenches or chemistry stations but will add them to the house once I get level 2 perk of Local Leader. Should be in a few more level ups. Another strange thing is that I cannot find a refrigerator in the settlement building. I know that some things are locked off until you find the skill magazines, otherwise not sure. This is a bare bones WIP. Welcome to MegatonView from the doorLeft hand sideI want my refrigerator!View from balconyNuka machineBedroomBackroomTop ViewI will add the extra items when I can and drop more personal items to give it a more lived-in look.
