Well, I thought yours was a track-o, but thought I must have been wrong when I saw the wheels. I love the yellow and black colors a lot, I thought they were unique to your new baby!

Unfortunately the road has to settle a bit before they can come and put the fine gravel on so itīs not done before Midsummerīs Eve. But that gives us good time to drive back and forth with the tractor and īcavator which is fun enough tongue.gif

I just drove my car on the new driveway!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I have been driving back and forth with the tractor and the īcavator all day in order to cut any sharp edges and to pack it down. Must have made at least 25 turns all in all. Driving with the car felt a bit risky but so far the tyres seem to be fine. Weīll see how it goes *cough* further down the road *cough*

There goes your new car's paint job? "POP" goes the tyre? "BAM" = "Oh no, there goes the oil pan...?"

But it looks so gorgeous! Maybe it needs driven over by a real crusher, but those will kill your kidneys.

In Florida (USA) they made the streets of coral, which is sharp as glass. I wonder how they smoothed it for cars and got it so compacted?

They just crush it up, and pour it like sand. The Seabees used crushed coral to build airstrips in the Pacific during WWII.

It (coral) must be tough material, because the streets in Florida never need repairs, always look beautiful.

An embarrassing tidbit of info: When I was writing "coral" above, I spelled it "Chorrol" and couldn't figure out why it showed red, rollinglaugh.gif

@ Mirocu - I love the color of the bricks, it looks gorgeous. How did you find so many clean bricks to lay such a long drive? Awesome!

The guy we hired has tons of material, after all that he still has a lot left. His company secures leftovers when buildings gets demolished or changes the roof tiles.

Just for poop and laughter, hereīs some extra pixies.

They came down like a ton of.... Yeah, you know what they came down like biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, that big heavy dump truck aught to crush those larger bricks down real well too! What a great find! We have a demolition guy in town here that is always getting bricks too, but his bricks never look so clean and pretty! Those look new!

So, another project report! smile.gif

I havenīt been talking about this one because frankly I have been rather -Jameson- about it, but now when itīs all said and done I feel I can disclose the details tongue.gif

Excavator - the dozer division

My īcavator is a so-called XTV, meaning its tracks are extendable for better stability. This of course means the dozer part has to be extendable too and it is like in this picture (not mine), but the sprints that hold those parts were rusted shut and impossible to remove. I have hit them from underneath with a sledgehammer for months without result (I drove close to a pit I dug up to get room). I have used up five or six spraycans of WD-40 and another anti-rust agent that freezes the rust down to -40 C, still nothing.

Eventually Iīd had enough, removed the whole carriage, flip it over, and went to town on those sprints again but from above this time (sort of). I used a much smaller hammer but lo and behold, they loosened up! ohmy.gif Two were easily removed but the other two demanded much more work, but I did it! I got them all and finally I can use the extensions!! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

My next project is figuring out what else there is to do in life now that this project is finally over tongue.gif
