I loved Fallout 3 and was a great successor to Fallout 1 & 2, which me and my girlfriend loved to play over the weekends. From my couple days playing New Vegas, I can say that this game is one of THE BEST and is the true continuation of Fallout 1 and 2.

I brought this to school after I finished my report and just played this.

Me: SUCK ON GRENADE SUPER MUTANT!
Teacher: o_0 What are you playing?
Me: ...Um....an educational simulation of a Post-Nuclear environment.

I'm a little intimidated by the prospect of playing another huge game. blink.gif I used to love open world games so much when I was younger, yet now I'm afraid of them. Every time I start one, I play it for what seems like just a while, and then wham, 20 years have passed and I still have a few side quests left to do. mellow.gif

I bet it's going to happen again.

What are the glitches/bugs so far?

I remember Fallout 3 had a mesh glitch in certain places (like on that bridge you cross to get to Minefield where the raider gang is attacking and suddenly you can't see anything and get killed) - I finally started crossing the river and hoping for the best as far as rads went.

Also in Fallout 3, sometimes you'd fall through the mesh and it was like walking in tar.

Anything like that in Fallout: New Vegas?

There are quite a few scripting bugs in this game and similar terrain problems to FO3 but they are infrequent. Some of the quests aren't working right (also) like FO3 when it released but they've already released a few patches and are working hard on more.

This is counted as both GLITCH AND EXPLOIT.

Go to Vikki and Vance's Casino after waiting three days outside Primm. Now, once your inside, explore the place for a while. Thugs will appear and demand your caps. Instead of handing over your money, give them a storm of bullets.

Again, go outside Primm and wait three days. After that, enter the Casino again, and it should up and running. Go to the cashier and trade your caps (or any other currency) for chips.

Now, here comes the best part.

Instead of taking your chips when you try to turn it in, she doesn't take them AND STILL GIVES YOU THE CAPS!

So, I had +200,000 caps in my purse, with a stupid grin on my face when I went out. Easy, not-so-time-consuming and makes you moronically rich.

(But to make this exploit work, complete the quest 'My Kind Of Town')

For those who have trouble getting caps to buy that Anti-Material Rifle? I recommend this one.

The only drawback of this glitch/exploit is that it breaks the purpose of some of the gameplay. It seems out of place when your lvl. 2 character is mowing down molerats with Assault Carbine, now ain't it?

I never used the "Doria" glitch - and by the time I tried out the "Vampire Cure Quest" they had patched Hassildor so he only gave me 5,000 Septims! ARGH!

I won't deny using the duplication glitch and an enchanted ring to make Septims when emergency Septims were needed though...

In Fallout 3 - money came too easily, and there was not enough to spend it on. I may have lived in squalor, but was always wealthy after a short time in that game - no exploits needed.

The difference with New Vegas is that things are much more expensive than in Fallout 3 so more money is necessary to keep yourself supplied.

Yeah !!! That gives a little challange, I hated being so rich that no matter what I blew it on - I always had tons more to fall back on. This will feel more real at least.

Well, if you collect the seven snowglobes and sell them to mr. House you get 14 000 caps. I've been able to get along just fine with that.

There's that too, yes. But they would throw you out when your 'win counts' reach a certain . . . limit.

All in all, F:NV's monetary concerns are more realistic than FO3 was. Can you believe that you can buy poorly-maintained Power Armor with +300 caps? In F:NV, you could barely buy a .308 Hunting Rifle with that!

FO3 needed some DLC that had extra stores (with unique merchandise) in it to spend in, instead of more ways to make money.

One thing I liked about Oblivion is that I could go broke frequently, and have to earn up some more Septims.

I am really looking forward to F:NV - has anyone on here had the crashes and follower bugs? If so, are you on PC/360/or PS3 ?

I'm on PS3 and yes, I experienced crashes during gameplay. Don't know why. As for follower bugs, well, haven't encountered one... yet.

But try going to The Vault. Information there are staggering in numbers, and while some jackasses with too much time on their hands messes up some threads, I recommend this site.
