QUOTE(Crimson Paladin @ May 2 2017, 06:31 AM) Here's the wallpaper I've been using. Whoa....very nice image. In this contest my non existent wager is placed on the red cloaked combatant. All else being equal, he looks to be houses more solidly in plate, whereas the near warrior's kit includes a number of comparatively lightly armored areas. If I see it correctly, there's an unarmored gap between helm and shoulders exposing a portion of neck. These differences in protection should mean that, in a RL fight, Red Cloak will not need to rely as heavily on half-swording and/or pommeling as his adversary. Considering they both sport shields, those techniques might be difficult to pull off. Then again, the near fellow has, for whatever reason, elected to not utilize his near-elbow shield strap, rendering it far less affective (I should think). But what do I know of such matters? Next to nothing, truth be told.

The neck area's a bit confusing. It looks like it might be a curved plate attached to the cuirass, not bare neck. The thighs look more of a target.
"Go for the thighs, Boo!"

QUOTE(Callidus Thorn @ May 2 2017, 08:42 AM) Huh. The first thing that comes to mind when I look at that is the game Dark Souls. Very cool pic.
That's because it's a pre-release screenshot from Dark Souls 3. QUOTE(SubRosa @ May 2 2017, 02:18 PM) Impressive. Most impressive.
To add to the nerdy armor discussion, I think with that gear I would ditch the shield and arming sword, and instead use a poll axe or zweihander...
In the game, there's actually a Lucerne polehammer lying around not far from where they're fighting.

Since assembling the "new" PC I've contented myself with the stock Windows 10 background image so many seem to prefer, the lady jogging on a beach. Until today that is. This morning I snapped an image of the Imperial City at distance during dawn. It was intended as a proof of concept shot, to define a rough framing before adding my OCOv2 avatar into the mix. Only, he proved so difficult to position that the sun rose too high in the sky before I could capture a "polished" image. The rough draft, though not ideal, seemed well suited as a desktop background, which it now is. Scenic View of the Imperial City at Distance during Dawn (original image 1920x1080). Am I mistaken, or is the Imperial City seen at distance the most iconic visual representation of the entire Elder Scrolls series? I can think of none more recognizable, unless it is to be found in Skyrim, the series entry I am least familiar with. This post has been edited by Decrepit: Sep 4 2017, 03:24 AM

Khajiit thinks your assertion about the Imperial City being most iconic is fair. It even now applies to ESO because of the whole Alliance War thing fighting over control of the city.

Very very nice. As for myself, I now have five or six Experimental Oblivion Build screen captures rotating every ten minutes as my Win10 desktop background. Not gonna bother uploading and linking them here, as most have been seen in reduced/cropped form in the Oblivion Screenshot thread. Thanks D! Khajiit has seen your Oblivion pics and they are very nice as well!
