OK,just a simple question:
If for example my Marksman skill is 100 and i put an item that adds +10 to marksman,is my 110 skill better than my previus 100?Why am i asking such a stupid question? Here's why:
I noticed that even though i have a security skill of 107 when picking a lock,my skill counts as 100.That means that the rest 7 doesn't count at all.Screenshots:

In Morrowind it did - as I understand it, in Oblivion it does nono.gif not. In Oblivion, skills max out at 100 no matter what else you do or use, so I'm told. Better to get gear to increase a different lower skill than to waste the points on one you already have maxed.

Strength does work though. You CAN carry more if you're stronger. I've had my character well over 200 with armor, potions, and adrenaline rush and I can carry much more. Add in a few feather spells to enhance that, but the main thing is that strength at least works better even well over 100.

Edit: as does intelligence - it will give you more magika.

So strength a nd intelligence so forth (attributes?) work over 100, but blade/destrution (skills?) max at 100, presumably because of the rankage system.

Case closed. tongue.gif

Okay, that's great to know about strength. I love to add feather to carry more stuff.

Intelligence still raises all the other skills right? It was the base skill in MW I think.
