I have the samsung syncmaster 173p which is cne't's top rater syncmaster. I love mine. granted it was $600, but came with a $300 rebate. so might not be within your budget O.o

DVI:digital visual interface. http://www.ce.org/about_cea/cea_initiative...Doc_1_04_02.pdf

everything else looks good.

but may AMD might be a better choice for CPU. just a thought.

also I have a NZXT tower. except mines "guardian" and not the nemesis.

Nahh.. I dont want AMD, thought about it but I'm using alot of programs like Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004, Fireworks MX 2004, Adobe Photoshop CS, JASC Paint Shop Pro 9.0 and all that, and so I think I want to stick with Intel Pentium 4..

If I have some extra money so might go for this one; Eizo 19" LCD FlexScan L768AS TCO-03 Grey

Made a new list today, here's the "gaming part"...

Intel Pentium 4 - 3.2 GHz
1024 MB RAM
290 GB HD
GeForce 6800GT 256MB

Might get watercooling by Christmas then its just to 'clock' it or what ever you say in English and get around 4.0 GHz and I'll most possible buy the newest GCard at the time.. smile.gif

I think my PC should be fine for oblivion. Here's what I think my PC has (though I'm not sure of any of the components):

2700 MHz AMD something-or-other processor
Either 512, 768 or 1024Mb DDR RAM (I'm not sure which two RAM things are in the PC at the moment).
Geforce FX 256mb (no idea what model)
Creative Audigy 2 Sound Card
152 Gig Hard drive (this is what my comp is telling me, I suspect it is meant to be 160 gig)

The main problem with my PC at the moment is the god-awful screen. I'll need a new one if I want to enjoy Oblivion in all it's shiny-grahiced glory.

Hmm, well the screen I'm going to buy for my new computer will be this one;

Samsung 19" LCD Syncmaster 930BF TCO-99 700:1, DVI-D, 4ms, 1280x1024

Looked over a few screens, and this was the best I cam over - very good price on it too actually smile.gif Think it will do very good even when Oblivion comes out...

But over to the Oblivion System Requirments, maybe we could do some brainstorming trying to find out what the SR will be... I've been thinking and I think it will be pretty much like BF2, only that you will need a better GCard.

Think that with 1GB RAM will be enough to run it on maybe some graphics on "normal" and some on "high". I'm pretty sure you will need over Intel Pentium 4 2.4+ GHz, AMD 2.4 should work pretty good I think. Minimum 10 GB left on your HD just for safety reasons tongue.gif

umm, this thread went slightly into the wrong direction huh.gif ... this thread was not intended to give the people who already own an uber-PCs the possibility to show off with their system's specifications wink.gif - it should be more something like a thread in which people who think that their system lacks a certain hardware-component, to make Oblivion run smoothly, can ask for suggestions about what to improve.

I'd try to make sure that you have at least 1024Mb, 512 will certainly not be enough

amd athlon64 3200+ (sk939)
gigabyte k8 triniton (nforce4sli)
1gb ddr400 (pc3200)
cheap, no good pcx video-card (geforce fx5300@128mb)

u may b wondering: why pay so much for a gamer's processor, yet not invest in a decent video card?
simple answer: plan on upgrading when video cards get cheaper in romania. hopefully, i'll have some cash by july.
do u think there's the slightest chance i'll get 60fps(playable rate) on lowest at 1024x768?
btw: don't buy an nforce4sli chipset mainboard unless u plan to get a liquid cooling sistem right now i have 9 fans to cool my system. getting one more. don't bother additionaly cooling down the cpu. not necessary

I know that my current system will not run the game so I'm just hoping to get some advice on what to get so that it will be able to.

my current system is:

Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.00GHz
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420
RAM: 512 MB

I plan on getting more RAM and a new graphics card also more hardrive space what other things should I buy?

I'm afraid 2 Ghz won't even be enough for the minimum requirements, instead of a new hard drive I'd suggest a better CPU sad.gif

I plan to get a new computer at the end of this month or the next, I'm getting one with all the bells and such to make sure I won't have to worry about it nor running a game for the next 3 years at least smile.gif
