Thieves Guild Final Quest Help..., spoiler Options

Its the final mission and im in the library already. Though my character won't sit in the chair, has anybody else experienced this? i think its a glitch or something. The chair is called the "reading chair" next to the fire. I think you are suppose to sit in it and they bring you the scroll.
