Morndas, Heartfire 3 Days Passed: 8 Lady Saga went into All Things Alchemical, and was greeted by Falanu Hlaalu. Falanu immediately recognized the blond elf, and Saga was able to tell the Dunmer who she was. Once this greeting was over, Falanu remembered that Saga used to do lots of business in the past, buying up pounds of ingredients over time. Saga is not only good with alchemy, she's good with a bow, too. "Say, could you assist me with a little problem I've been having?" asked Falanu. "Surely, I can make assistance to one good friend such as yourself." Falanu had had some sort of "storage cellar" dug under her shop; a place where she could keep certain ingredients cool, but the place had become infected with pests.* And she wanted Saga to go down there and take care of the problem. Well, Lady Saga was glad to assist. It took a few hours, but the rats, bats, imps, and a lone conjurer were soon dealt with. It helped that Falanu was able to provide three strong potions of night-eye, as well as three zombie scrolls, but Saga only needed to use one of these scrolls. She then returned to Falanu, who paid 100 gold, and gave the Bosmer a special mortar & pestle, which will grant her the ability to make potions & poisons of a much purer quality. * This was a quest I made called "Target Practice," which (more specifically) was created so Saga could have an easy practice session, as well as make a few quick gold pieces. Turns out, Saga did very well down there, finding a skirt which fortifies Fatigue 15 points (she's keeping that one), as well as some jewelry and a couple soul gems.

Thanks Vital. Yikes, that's a lot to catch up on. And here's some more. This update is the first one I've got from the summer of 4th Era Year 421, in my RG3 game. Turdas, Mid-Year 13, 4th Era Year 421Days Passed: 291 The weather turns hot as summer kicks in, down here in Leyawiin. Renee and her party wind up staying in Leyawiin (and the Blackwood area) for quite some time, because it takes them a while to figure out where the 'nearby vampire menace' is coming from. And for the first time, Renee Gade III also hears about the Blackwood Company from some citizen. Since she got kicked out of the Fighters Guild a while ago, and has been missing being part of an organization like this one, she gets curious about Blackwood Company, and joins them (mod). But about the vampire thing. The people of Water's Edge don't have anything to say about any vampires, so it's up to RG3 and her party to find out if any of their lairs are nearby. Turns out, there is a place, but it's not on the same side of the river that Water's Edge is. It takes several days of exploring to discover Fort Redman, even though the place is plainly visible from the other side of the Niben! Doh. Once it is discovered, about half of its inhabitants are killed by Renee Gade III herself, the other half are lured outside, where the rest of her party waited in ambush. The siege of Redman took two days to finish up. In addition to Redman, Renee and her party also found a missing "orb" which once belonged to Count Marius Caro (this quest was added by me, and the orb was actually a Sigil stone), which was interesting. Because once they found where the orb was hidden (in a marauder fort called Fort Blueblood) they had run out of food. The party left the place while starving. This occurred at night, and in the rain. Oh no! Which way led back to Leyawiin? But Renee still remembered some "girl scout" lessons from her youth: study which way your shadow is cast, and you can figure out which direction to go in. First step: everybody's torches go out! Finding Leyawiin would be impossible with them lit. But if they were out, and everybody walked while keeping their shadows to the left, they would generally be going south, toward Topal Bay, since Nirn's sun last set to the west (their right). Their luck was amazing. After several hours of walking in darkness & rain, they finally saw that the distant horizon was flat; they knew they were finally at the bottom edge of Blackwood Forest. But what was amazing was that they also just happened to find the small village where they'd left their horse. This is a mod-added village on the edge of the bay, but somehow Renee and her party just happened to walk straight to it.

Sundas, Mid-Year 30, late morning
Level: 15 Days Passed: 308
Rainy day, rather lukewarm for the southern parts of Cyrodiil. Renee Gade III and her party were getting all ready to leave Leyawiin. They've been down here for about a month, and are getting homesick, and sick of Blackwood's hot, sticky weather in general. So they were just about ready to start heading north again, when a visit to Tun-Zeeus changed their mind.
Tun-Zeeus, the Argonian blacksmith of The Dividing Line, has been wanting them to find a pair of special blacksmith tongs which were made just for him, but stolen at some point. After searching three places the tongs could possibly have been taken* (Fieldhouse Cave, Shattered Shield Cave, and Onyx Caverns) these tongs were not found, which made everybody frustrated, because now they really want to get out of Leyawiin!
Upon returning to Tun-Zeeus though, he's now told them that some courier (now dead) was reportedly ambushed, and taken to Fieldhouse specifically. So guess what? Everyone's gonna have to go back to this cave (which was NOT easy to find) and see if this courier can be found.

Tirdas, Sun's Height 9, 4th Era 421
Days Passed: 317
Rainy day, and cool for summer. After weeks of travel, the party is finally back to Chorrol, and Renee Gade has the appropriate number of bear pelts (20 in all) after months of toil. She and her party haul these smelly items up to the Fighters Guild, where Vilena Donton stands stern at the top of her little queendom.
"You've been told what you must do in order to regain your standing, and you've not yet done it. Don't return until you have twenty bear pelts!"
"Hmm. Do you not see all this crappe I am carrying? What, do you think we're walking around hauling furs upon our backs because it's cold outside? We are in the middle of summer."
"So, you've collected the pelts. I trust you've learned a lesson."
"Learned a lesson?" Miss Gade retorts. "What sort of lesson? ... I needed to collect the skins of twenty dead animals to correct righting a wrong I never committed?"
"Your rank is restored," Vilena continues.
"Thank you."
"...along with all rights and responsibilities."
"Gracious. That is so much better. Glad to be back as part of the guild, that I am."
"I'm honored to speak to the champion of Cyrodiil!" Vilena suddenly gloats. "What do you need?"
"[SIGH] Talk about a dovetail."
Renee Gade III rolls her eyes, and then immediately grabs a bottle of ale which is standing nearby. Then she walks downstairs, and has a slab of salted mutton. "Nothing like some free food," she mutters to one of her companions.

Yup. I'm certainly not in your league when it comes to story-telling -------------------- Today Lothran left the comforts of Bravil to go necrodude hunting. He took the boat directly to Cadlew chapel (thanks again, Sub!) and after doing his duty he then decided to walk the main road southwards. He crossed the Niben halfway to Leyawiin and continued back towards Bravil, fending off any foe he met along the way. Weather was changing to and fro but stayed mostly on the wet side of things. There was one bandit who did not attack Lothran as he approached. Lothran engaged her in conversation and found her to have 67 in disposition and yes, it was indeed a Khajiit again. Lothran raised it even further and topped it off with a 200 gold bribe to get it to 100. Just because. Now the Dunmer is sitting in Bravil Mages Guild having conducted business, or rather all but one. He didn't get Ita to recharge his gear before she went for dinner and it may well be until the next day before his weapons are fully charged again.

QUOTE(mirocu @ Jul 31 2017, 03:24 AM) QUOTE(Acadian @ Jul 30 2017, 09:03 PM) Mirocu, necrodude hunting is always wonderful sport! It seems like you have SubRosa's Cadlew Chapel mod?
No, but I do have her boat mod that places boats here and there so one can cross lake Rumare/river Niben easily, even from within the town of Bravil. Cadlew in my game is vanilla, hence the necrodude presence. Just tracked that for download myself. I look forward to using it, Subby! Also, Melora is in Skingrad, having just talked to Sinderion. Kvatch is next!

Wow, mirocu actually cranked out three paragraphs! Hot damn. Kidding. I like the fact that some outlaws (very rarely) will 'turn sides,' and won't just attack us. It certainly does add to the story. Anyway, this update from Joan of Arkay's game should be very mirocu-ish. ------------------- Morndas, mid-day, Sun's Dusk 26, 3rd Era, Year 434Joan of Arkay begins to leave Cheydinhal, where she'd come to update her spellbook with something which will help her breathe underwater. That mission was successful. With this spell in her book, she is supposed to head back to Leyawiin... But it's been awhile since she's been to Battlehorn Castle. She needs to revisit the place, which is boing inhabited currently by just three people. With over 990 gold on her person, she also has enough money (hopefully) to pimp the place a little. But first... Joanie has heard about a place called Memorial Cave, located on the banks of Lake Rumare, across from the Imperial City. This cave is supposed to be inhabited by vampires. As a hunter of undead, Joan of Arkay simply cannot resist. This post has been edited by Renee: Aug 6 2017, 02:52 PM

Lothran went to re-visit Nenalata yesterday, the very place which close to a decade ago would prove to be a certain someone's final resting place. Nothing much to it. A bunch of Lich here and there and some minor loot. Lothran got into the inner chamber and the throne where Umbacano succumbed to his greed for power all those years ago. Claude Maric also found his final resting place here, having been killed by the Lich guards summoned when Umbacano hit the stage. It's always interesting when you re-visit a place you haven't been to in a very long time. For instance, I saw staves that Lothran had discarded laying on the floor throughout the ruin and I thought to myself "Geez, I haven't seen those staves in ten years!" That was what hit me the most when gaming yesterday. Lothran has been running past the ruin all this time without re-entering, despite its significance. I'm glad he finally did it

Recently fired up Oblivion again, Gideon Draconis has returned to Cyrodiil as a proper Sorcerer. He's incredibly slow in his armour, but it isn't really bothering me. He's only level 3, with one Mages Guild recommendation done, but he's already a journeyman of Conjuration and Mysticism. And just picked up the summon flame atronach spell I'd forgotten how thick the fog in Oblivion can get. Taking the Orange Road from Bruma to Chorrol at times he was just jogging through a bubble I've also turned the crosshair off, for the first time. Not sure why, must have been bugging Gideon or something. I haven't gotten used to it yet, but it I'm getting used to aiming without it. Next up for Gideon is the Chorrol recommendation, then it's back home to Frostcrag. He took one look at the map, saw the distance to Anvil, and said there was no way he was walking all the way there and back. He'll probably do the same to get to Leyawiin.

WHAT? You are just turning your crosshair off??? Forsooth my bird! Thou art never wert! Kidding. Actually, now that your crosshair is off, you'll have more of a 'dice roll' effect going on with thrown spells, and archery. You'll miss more often, is what I'm trying to say. Now try no crosshair, and gaming in 3rd person. Oh yeah. I think you are strictly 1st person though, right? I seem to remember this.

Yup, 1st person only for me. Which makes the amount of time I spend on my characters faces kinda funny, when you think about it And I'm definitely missing more spells without that crosshair, keep aiming too low. Had a bit of a shock earlier, thanks to the random conversations that take place. Loaded up Gideon's game(he was in the Chorrol guildhall), and immediately of the npcs shouted "NO!" Probably talking about the chapel of Dibella. *shrugs* Two recommendations down, onwards to Bruma for Gideon This post has been edited by Callidus Thorn: Sep 29 2017, 04:24 PM

Callidus, you learn to use other ways of aiming once the crosshair is off. If your character is sneaking for instance, you can use the sneak-eye. I'm not sure how it works in 1st person, but in 3rd person, the way I aimed on Xbox was not exactly dead-center. It is slightly off-center, matter of fact. After awhile you get a feel for aiming using these vaguer methods. Overall though, the game starts to feel more like your rolling dice. My detect life-using characters have an easier time too. DL definitely helps with aiming in 3rd person, because now I can see where the NPC or creature actually is; my character won't be blocking the view as much. That's a funny story about Gideon. And oh, I haven't added an update since early August. Something must be wrong with me. Time to rectify this disastrous situation. Here is where Renee Gade III left off. I haven't gamed with her in months, so I don't even remember what was written. ------------- Fredas, Sun's Height 12Temperate day, not too hot. Rain comes and goes a couple times, too. After leaving Chorrol the day before, finding Clearwater Farms, and spending the night in this small little hamlet (Turdas) it takes all day for Renee, Felrika, Jada, and Arraya to find Ninendava, the next vampire place for them to tackle. And by the time they get there the sun is going down, negating any advantage they'd have to lure these monsters out one-by-one. So no vampire-hunting today, but at least they know where the place is. On Sun's Height 13 through 14, the party does return to Ninendava, and easily conquers the place. There aren't as many vampires in here as there have been in a few other lairs. Note: the Gabrielle NPC showed up out of nowhere during this session, in Clearwater Farms's Inn, of all places. Remarkable, because she'd gone missing days before, even before the party got to Chorrol. This post has been edited by Renee: Sep 29 2017, 11:39 PM
