Its about time we leave Tamriel and the Wasteland. Lets take a trip to Lordran shall we?

A quick summary I thought up:

A group of undead have joined forces to make their way through this harsh world. They all come from different backgrounds, some shadier than others, but the battles they have endured together have strengthinged their bonds, and all trust each other with their lives. However, the trials ahead of the group could prove too much for them...

Any ideas, please post.

EDIT: They trust each other, with their liver? Lives of course!

IDK, Han Solo-Rollo (can I call you that btw?). I'm quite unsure how many Dark Soulers there are in Chorrol. There's you and the Mighty Rane, and me, but for my discerning eye that's about it. Oblivious RPers might have a difficult time keeping up, because y'know, they don't know Lordran's locations, lore etc. But I like the idea of a DS RP. I think we're the first ones. That aside, we should plan out our "path" towards the end boss. I suggest we take the route most taken, becuz that may be easier (I hate the ghosts below anyway). And after that, hmmmm. That's all I can think of, actually. But I'm in.

Personally, I think the world of Lordran isn't too different to Cyrodiil. Both use Magic, medieval weaponry, demons/daedra stalk the world, etc. True though, lore and places might be a problem. The best remedy or this is that we just post a link to dark souls wiki if people need a layout of what the area/person/enemy is like e.g:

Kain turned to priestess Myrilda and quietly whispered to her "you take the assassin on the left, I'll get the hounds".

This lets non dark souls players take part without being left in the dark.

P.S, I know that caboose has demon souls, so he might consider joining... maybe

P.P.S, Yeah, you can call me whatever. smile.gif

Oh, while I'm on, I might as well do a draft for the character sheet. It's mainly based around what you would have in the real game.

**************************************

Name:

Gender:

Class:(More info Below)

Gift:(once again, more info below)

Looks:

Armor:

Weapons of Choice:

Bio:

*************************************

Classes

Warrior - An all-rounder type class with an emphasis on melee combat.

Knight - The tank class. They are heavily armored and can wield the heaviest weapons. they also have fairly high faith, allowing them to use miracles.

Wanderer - the fastest melee combat class. Wanderers use nimble blades and light armor and can wield the most skill requiring weapons.

Hunter - A long-range class that mainly uses bows. They are OK in close range combat but cannot use magic. The most commonly used armor by hunters is leather, giving them a decent defense.

Thief - A "stealth" class which mainly consists of backstabbing and parrying. They use very light armor and only small blades. The shields they use are designed for parrying, not taking blows from claymores.

Bandit - Bandits are the opposite of knights. Instead of wearing heavy armor, they mainly wear armor consisting of hides with metal inlaid into them. They do however possess the highest attack skill, causing the most physical damage out of all the classes.

Sorcerer - One of the mage classes, the sorcerers mainly use sorceries (fitting, right?) to fight. They have the highest intelligence, but can only wear light armor and cannot wield large weapons.

Pyromancer - Swamp dwellers who use the magic of pyromancy (starting to see a pattern?). They also have decent attack, but their defense is not the greatest.

Cleric - The closest the game has to a healer. They use miracles, which mainly consist of healing and buffs designed to give surrounding players a boost. However, most of their other attributes are quite low...

I would rather there be only one of each class, but I don't mind that much.

Gifts

Divine blessing - a potion that will completely heal the drinker and remove all status ailments. (probably best for clerics or knights)

Black firebomb - bombs that explode into a blaze of fire. Extremely powerful. (a bandit/warriors choice)

Binoculars - what do you think they do? (maybe wanderer or hunter?)

Pendant - Nothing special about it, or is there? (wanderer or cleric is fitting)

Twin humanities - give the user two humanities, which can be used to become human, or kindle a bonfire. (not really class specific)

Master Key - allows access to many of the games locked doors, but not all. barred doors, doors that open from the other side, etc. won't be opened. (obvious thief choice)

Tiny being's ring - said to regenerate health by the game, but it instead gives a boost to max HP. (warrior, knight or bandit, perhaps)

Old witch's ring - Given to you by a witch. nothing SEEMS special about it... yet. (wanderer for roleplay value)

I would like to point out that this roleplay will probably change depending on what classes and gifts are picked. for example, if nobody chooses to have the pendant, it won't be the same as if somebody did pick it.

Well, I want to roleplay but I've never even heard of Dark Souls before. Ok, so it is supposedly the sequel to Demon Souls which was a really hard game or something. That's not exactly what I call a deep well of knowledge. So if I'm in, I'd like to call dibs on the wanderer. Then I can excuse any ignorance by simply saying I'm new to the region.

The Dark Souls Wikia would certainly be the best bet for knowledge, if I would repeat what was already said. For the classes, I'd take the Bandit. I like killing things with an axe. I'm gonna post it later, already thinking of a Bio.

Personally I'm thinking of choosing either the knight or pyromancer classes. If anybody can think of any additional classes, they can be that (no "demon controlling god" classes please)

I thought of maybe a beserker class, which would mainly be heavy armor and dual weapons. Sort of a knight thats sacrificed some defense and faith for increased attack.

Alright, this is the character I came up with. Perhaps a bit too silly, but just tell me what I need to change or add.

Name: Stephanus Hendrik Mackellain the third

Gender: Male

Class: Wanderer

Gift: Binoculars

Looks: Well, not like it matters much with the whole Assassin’s Creed armour. But anyway, this is the face of the man I’m going with. IPB Image Yeah, check out dat stache, baby. cool.gif
Armor: I’m keeping it simple. Standard Wanderer’s armour, though minus the hood.

Weapons of Choice: Light Crossbow. Twenty bolts. One broken rapier

Bio: Stephanus Hendrik Mackellain the Third was the lord of Mackelbury. Unfortunately though, several harvestfailures led to famine. Jealous over lord Mackellain’s well-developed gut, a mob ran him out of his estate. Since that day, Mackellain has been wandering the world, ditching his noble attire for a wanderer’s rags, hoping to one day refind his fortune and reclaim the land of Mackelbury.

As far as I can see, you're spotless of any mistakes, Jack. Han Solo-Rollo! I'mma take the Bandit, Archer and Warrior, if that's OK. That should temporarily fix the number problem until we have new members.

Yeah, three people isn't the best for a roleplay, but hopefully caboose will take a look soon (he said he will join when he has the time)

I think I will combine the cleric and knight roles for my character and be either a paladin or templar. Hmm, sounds a bit like Solaire of Astora. (You know Uleni - "Jolly co-operation!" Guy... bloke with the sun emblem and greathelm)

Ooooh. THAT guy.

I smashed his face in with my Great Axe. You sjould've seen the killing animation! Bloody glorious, I say. Well, my characters are still in development, but they're probably be deployed tomorrow or there abouts. Have some stuff, that I loathe by the way, and I must do 'em.

Hey everyone. After all the failed attempts at starting up the origional role play and being buried with things I had to do I have some free time to join this roleplay. Oh and just a suggestion but if we only end up with four people we probably don't have to worry about a posting line. I'm just happy to start a roleplay and I've got a great idea for the perfect character so I will post him soon if not tonight. Don't worry about me not knowing mythology as I've finished Demon's Souls and have recently purchased Dark Souls and gotten a fair bit into it.

I would appreciate that. Same thing with environments and general lorebits. Those of us that have never played the game (am I the only one?) could use a guiding hand.

And what is this the wiki said about undead and humanities? I haven't found anything specific yet. Am I to understand that Stephanus Hendrick Mackellain the Third is supposed to be a zombie? I guess he didn't notice.

Hmm, I'm trying to find a simple explanation...

In the land of Lordran, some people have been branded with burnt rings, known as darksigns. These symbols mark men as cursed souls, who can never die permanently. However, when these men die for the first time, their appearance resembles that of the dead. After a long period of time, the undead would lose their sanity, and become "Hollowed". To prevent any more deaths, the undead are corraled and lead North, to an asylum where they are left to rot. Like us.

Now a crash course on humanities.

Usually, when marked men turn undead, it is irreversable. However, rare sprites known as humanities can revive an undead when consumed, restoring all their human qualities. Not much is known about humanities themselves, but they are believed to be part of a live mans soul that defines him as human.

Guys, sorry for the delay. But Rl has calmed down now and the break allowed me some free time to complete the Bios.
-------------

(1)Name: Sibrand Parmestuv
(2)Name: Testrom Parmestuv
(3)Name: Cassira Parmestuv

(1)Gender: Male
(2)Gender: Male
(3)Gender: Female

(1)Class: Warrior
(2)Class: Bandit
(3)Class: Archer

(1)Gift: None
(2)Gift: Tiny Being's Ring
(3)Gift: Divine Blessing

(1)Looks: "I have been mistakenly hailed as the dubious Count of Carim. I've been born in a barn of a pitiful ranch overlooking the city of fair Anglom. I have no relations whatsoever to a suspicious-looking noble in a faraway land full of cut-throats. But that does not stop all the remarks I have. The ones about my red hair and green eyes are the worse."

(2): "Damn, mate! You'd probably born in a rock someplace, you haven't heard of Testrom the Mighty? Somplace like Carim, perhaps. Just like my brother. *laughs* Never mind, I'm just having my fun, is all. Well, if the silver hair amd the blue eyes doesn't get to you, my skintone probably will; after all, it IS rare. My days as a mercenary in Catarina bleached it tan, it did. Now, I'm indistinguishable from those joyful lads! I'm not complaining, really. I like the sun and the desert and the people. But don't get me started on their armors!"

(3): "... what do you mean, I can't pass for an Astorian noblewoman? I'm practicaly a queen's twin! So I know that my black hair is unusual, but look at my eyes, man! My eyes! Bluer than a goddamn sea in a stormy day!"

(1)Armor: The Hardleather set without the helm.
(2): The Mountain bandit set.
(3): The leather set, with a hood.

(1)Weapons of Choice: A mace and a heater shield. A shortsword for back-up.
(2)Weapons of Choice: A really big axe.
(3)Weapons of Choice: A rotting composite bow with a quiver of wrought-iron arrows. Cassira prefers death-dealing in a distance, but she can go berserk with a war-axe in close quarters.

Bio:

The triplets of the House of Parmestuv are the last among that fallen House. The name Parmestuv once struck fear and loathing in the nation of Zena, but a rival House with the help of the local army, subdued and brought low the Parmestuvs. Now, their name are but a whisper of memomries of a time when even should the Sun shine, Zena would be a dark place. The triplets themselves know of this dark legacy, and does their best to forget it.

Or in the case of Sibrrand, cleanse it of its infamy.

He joined the knightly order of Zena, but his name preceded him. Ten years of slavering as a low-rank initiate and still, he was not given the honor of being given the title 'Sir'. With his eleventh year as an iniate coming close, he decided to leave and be among the soldiers of Zena instead. There, did he find his true calling. The General didn't need posh gentlemen who bequeted themselves to be above the 'low peasants'; whaat he needed were skilled men that could subdue the alarming rise of the undead.

Sibrand gave him that and more.

He, and hundred others, volunteered to go to the nation of Lordran itself and end this crisis from whence it came. But it ended in a large massacre against the dread Black Knights that annihilated them all.

From the dead, Sibrand rose. He was then corralled to the North, to the undead Asylum.
----------

Sibrand craved for the revival of the House Parmestuv.

Testrom wanted adventure. And money. And women. And that golden hammer that was supposedly used by a guy called 'Smough'. Certainly, Testrom was a creature of want, bordering the unholy greediness that consumed their line in the first place, The triplets' mother always warned him not to let that control his mind whn he was but a child. And then she would give a meal much more bountiful than his brother's or sister's.

When he came of age, ignoring his brother's warning, he joined a mercenary band that roamed between nations, always on the look out for contracts and treasures. His time with them naturally toughened up his physique and the child was replaced by a brute. With them, Testrom found what he perceived to be the true calling of his life. Comrades, never-ending battles and riches. With him, the mercenaries grew more and more famous until the king of Catarina offered them a contract that would permanently seal their place in history.

Escort the archbishop to the famed Anor Londo and request a few books from the Duke's Archives. Perhaps the greatest library in the world might have a few materials regarding diseases. The deserts of Catarina was hit with an airborne virus that turned the sick into the wretched undead. There was ni cure that the healers could find.

They got to work immediately.

On the way there, however, they discovered that the archbishop has catched the virus. They had to cut him down before he could infect them all. But it was too late. Testrom shared a cup with the man during their travels and the virus made shortwork of him immediately. He then made shortwork of his comrades, his brothers-in-arms for what seemed like eternity, in his Hollowed madness.

Months after wandering aimlessly as an undead, he was corralled into the North.
-----------------

Whereas her brothers opted to leave house and find their own ways, Cassira stayed with her mother and helped her scrape a living in their ranch. She would hunt game in the woods with her bow and chop trees up for fire. When needed, she would go to the near city and do odd jobs for money. While she generally came and went as a courier between her mother and civilization, there were times that she did go there on her accord. During those periods, Cassira of the acccursed Parmestuv was shed away and she simply became Cassira. She would race across rooftops, climb walls and generally be a free creature

It wasn't long before eyes started to see her. And her old bow.

A man by the name of Tychus Amlom, renown for his skill in archery, immediately recognized Cassira's bow as an heirloom of House Parmestuv; the very same House that his ancestors once served faithfully. He hounded her when she was in the city, stalked her in the forest while she hunted, watched her chop wood better than any man he met. He had no loyalties to a dead House. Honor for his ancestors did not remind him of the ancient.

Her beauty did.

They met on a cold friday noon in the forest. She was obviously alarmed to know that a stranger watched her every move in the past couple of months, but calmed down once she realized his intent. For a price, he would teach her all of his secrets and the proper way of handling a bow. Naturally, she accepted. With her free time, they would meet. She would and he would oversee. She made mistakes. He corrected them with the gentleness of a servant. And a secret admirer.

She quickly learned in weeks what he learned in years. Truly, she was of the accursed line. She exhausted all of his knowledge and now, she had to pay.

One kiss. One kiss that turned lethal and in frustration for her reluctance, Tychus Amolon crushed her neck and stabbed her in the gut with an arrow. When he realized what he had done, he fled in shame and left Cassira to rot.

Her mother found her in her Hollowed state. She wept, but accepted her daughter's fate. She instructed Cassira to travel to the North and she 'will be given a safe haven'.

With her bow and trustworthy axe, she said her goodbyes and corralled herself to the North, to the undead asylum.

Right, I guess were all starting in the asylum then. Well, its always best to start from the beginning.

Also, Jack: Your character doesnt HAVE to be hollowed, we can easily work around it.

I think I'll have Stephanus be an undeath for only a few days or so. He was already close to this asylum thing when he died, got tossed in and now he is in denial about his condition.

Waited for approximately two months and it seems that this was really dead. Too bad. This could've been a good idea, but oh well. I guess RL really is an RPers worst enemy. So. Anybody still there?
