Post screens of your prospectives, your spouses, or your rejects here! (so we can all get a gander of what is out there among the eligible singles in Skyrim, lol).

The Rowan Varrus Gallery of the Rejected:

http://images.uesp.net/3/3f/SR-npc-Ysolda.jpg That was an embarrassing conversation. Rowan was just being nice, and then Ysolda got all excited about the, um, item that Rowan brought for her. Now she knows what not to ask when she's chatting with townspeople.

http://images.uesp.net/6/68/Wilhelm.jpg Tempting. He has a tavern. But no.

Added: http://images.uesp.net/9/92/SR-npc-Temba_Wide-Arm.jpg. I’m guessing that she has muscular arms, not that they’re open wide. What an attitude, sheesh. Thanks for the reward, lady. Now back away slowly...

He's just not into her:

Right now she’s travelling with http://images.uesp.net/6/64/SR-npc-Sven.jpg. He looks a lot less silly when he’s killing things. Too bad he already has a girlfriend.

Ysolda is the best looking of the bunch. Wilhelm looks like Corbin Bernsen. I won't ... can't say what Sven looks like he was doing before the screen was snapped.

GAAAH !!! You've added one, I'll have to go look, lol.

Maxical is about to take that list of eligible men and do "drop by" visits to see what they look like in game (and what kind of house/job they have). If it doesn't get better than that, she may pick Ysolda, lol.

These are great Grits !!! I have to see the new one though, lol.

EDIT: OMG, it's a UNIBROW !!! Where's that wretched mage from Leyawiin, I think we found him a mate !!! Imagine what the kids would look like? It would be the next species in TES VI !!!

Posted by: mALX Nov 22 2011, 03:09 AM

As soon as the Creation Kit comes out, I'm going to make an NPC and do that code that makes them eligible for marriage. He will be suitably androgenous (and CLEAN!) for Maxical, ROFL !!!

Posted by: Grits Nov 22 2011, 03:10 AM

rollinglaugh.gif I got those from the UESP, but if Rowan finds her one true love, I'll take another picture of my TV. She has such a crush on Lydia, but there's no extra dialog options for her.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate moment for Sven.

LOL, unibrow! And she's mean. I'll only put little snippets when Rowan gets their disposition up high enough for a proposal.

So far I have not seen any men clean enough for Maxical!!

I saw one clean man at the College in Winterhold. He was like a hundred years old though, white haired - in fact I think it was Professor Dumbledorf from the first Harry Potter movie. Maxical will just stay friends with him (fearing the wedding night may be too much for him) to keep the one clean man in Skyrim alive, lol. (if she can find him again, he disappeared).

So while th'wife's off with her Farkas, I'm going to go off hunting with Aela... biggrin.gif ...

Plus, the idea of having Susan Ivanova whispering sweet nothings into my ear is pretty damned appealing... biggrin.gif ...

Oh, there's something about a wedding dress for the ladies in the guide...She's desperate to find it before she marries her "Farkie". Anyone know anything about that?...

Cheers, she won't leake me alone!!... wacko.gif laugh.gif ...

My brother married http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/index.php?title=Orla&image=Orla-jpg and http://images.uesp.net/3/3f/SR-npc-Ysolda.jpg

He did this with two different characters as you can't have more than one spouse at a time.

As for Melinoe, she is single for now since you can't marry http://images.uesp.net/f/fb/Raloffullview.jpg, http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:Brynjolf.jpg, or http://images.uesp.net/c/c3/SR-npc-Sapphire.jpg Boo!!

Yes, that should do it. Happy hunting. smile.gif

As for Maxical, if it can't be Quaranir ... it will be no one !!! He is not on the list, but I may try putting him on it with that code!!

http://content3.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Quaranir

Posted by: Grits Nov 23 2011, 02:22 PM

Hel-lo Quaranir! Rowan hasn't met him yet. Finally, an Altmer with a jaw.

A side question, are the containers in Maxical's college quarters safe? Other than from J'zargo, who likes to camp out there?

I haven't tried any of them out yet because the lady that showed me to the room said only the bed and desk were mine - and there is no desk in there.

Posted by: Saquira Nov 23 2011, 03:38 PM

Grits: I tried, the containers are safe in your room. I'd have lost quite a bit of stuff if they weren't.

But mALX, how are you even going to find Quaranir? There must be a reason to why he isn't on the list. I haven't seen a glimpse of him since finishing the mages quest.

Deesei married http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Brelyna_Maryon, the dunmer who's your fellow student at the college. The only other character I really like enough to break lore for her to marry is M'aiq, but he ain't available. Sa'Quira will probably find herself a fellow thief later.

Posted by: mALX Nov 23 2011, 05:16 PM

I figured the problem was with him being a Psjjic Priest that he would return to whereever the lore has put them as soon as the quest ends. I wonder if I can make a clone of him and edit its factions ... but will he still have the same voice?

Posted by: mALX Nov 24 2011, 05:16 PM

What about Tsun? GAAAAH, another one that isn't actually in the game, lol. Can't go live at his house since it's in another realm.

A lot of the men are marrying Ysolda for the free house - then killing her so they can continue to enjoy it without her presence. I wonder if then they marry again can they bring the new wifey to Ysolda's former home? Lol.

Posted by: Grits Nov 26 2011, 05:16 PM

Aha! http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-npc-Vorstag.jpg recently expressed surprise that Rowan is still single, and we know what that means.

She’s going to pass for now. He’s far too good at watching her back. He seriously will stand and watch the road behind them when she stops, unlike the flute-playing Sven. She doesn’t want him to start watching her backside instead.

Also, I’ve heard that remarrying is out, even if your spouse dies. If she married Vorstag, she’d have to send him home to cook for her and undoubtedly start carrying on with Lydia. Not going to happen!

I didn't like the way his mouth looked when he talked, ROFL !!! I noticed Bethesda gave the guys a whole raft of pretty girls to choose from, then stuck all the women with butt ugly men to marry. What was that all about?

I see me having to use the code solution in my game. I tested it out on Quaranir, he went from telling Maxical to move along to telling her there was no pleasure greater than her company - nice !!

Well, I was afraid it would mess up the quests for the College, so deleted all that and reloaded a previous save - but it was nice to know it nearly worked (he didn't ask about the "amulet of Mara" she was wearing - but it was one she found in a cave, I had not even found Riftken (spelling?) yet.

I wasn't sure if it had to be a particular amulet (or if that questline had to be started or something first) - so I traveled to that town and talked to the priest - the dialogue wouldn't come up to sell the amulet, I guess because Maxical had one in her inventory.

Is there a difference in the amulets? Or do you need to start the marriage questline before anyone responds to the amulets? (anyone know?)

Also, if you are on the PC you CAN remarry - I saw it on Youtube. You just have to type in some codes. For some reason everyone that wants to kill a wife to test out the theory is using Ysolda as the wife to kill and then marrying someone else, ROFL !!!

Posted by: Grits Nov 27 2011, 05:56 AM

It's the same Amulet of Mara, you just have to talk to the priest if you already have one. (That's what happened with Rowan's game.)

I'm rooting for Rowan to marry http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-npc-Balimund.jpg. He has a nice forge, so he's unlikely to die out adventuring. And how can she say no to that 'stache?! Admittedly, he could use a washcloth and some soap. But hey, he's working!

Still, she says no.

The need for soap and water is a big clincher for Maxical, it would be a definate no. If the man isn't clean, he will not be crawling into the same bed with her, lol.

Cameron married http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b74/Liliandra_Nadair/LiliOblivion/TESV2011-11-2715-29-23-96.jpg earlier, though it seems the Arch-Mage's quarters doesn't count as an 'owned home', so the couple had separate living conditions until the new Arch-Mage bought a house in Whiterun.

I think you can stay at Inns with them till you have a house, can't you?

Posted by: liliandra nadiar Nov 28 2011, 05:46 PM

Her default location until then was her room in the Collage, but since I had 7k I was able to get Breezehome and furnish it right off the bat. Though I can't seem to get the skill+ rest bonus from sleeping with them. Ah well, we're good without.

Was she available for marriage via vanilla game or did you "console her onto the list?"

I heard if you are a werewolf you get no special marriage bonus for sleeping with your spouse (or rest bonus). Also, if you are currently under the "Lovers Stone" effects you will not get it either. Since you now have a spouse to provide that same benefit, it is best to find another stone power to use.

Posted by: liliandra nadiar Nov 28 2011, 09:15 PM

She's vanilla. Cam's not a wolf (hasn't even set foot into the mead hall) and has under the Mage stone since Halgen. She can get Well Rested without a problem.

Those are the only two things I've found that keep the player from getting the "lover's comfort" perk.

** Does anyone know how/if the dialogue of the NPC changes after the wedding? I've heard it does, but wondered (in what way).

Posted by: mALX Nov 29 2011, 07:23 AM

I found this WIKI page that lists the marriage candidates and what property they OWN prior to the marriage in case the Player does not own any property yet to bring their spouse to.

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Marriage

For some reason Bethesda has totally outbalanced the marriage-able women with houses and businesses 8 to 2 !!! Only two men looking for marriage have owned property, but eight of the women do? What the heck is wrong with that picture?

Also, there are no male High Elves on the list. The voice actor for the Dark Elves is different than the actor for the High Elves - meaning that the High Elves will not have the special dialogues after marriage (like the Khajiit don't).

I return to my rant about the looks of the prospective spouses - the women are overall pretty to look at. The men look like they were dug up from the dregs of an active sty.

Really not happy with Bethesda's selection at all. So now, in order to marry a male NPC that is NOT on the list (one that owns property, is clean, and decent looking) - a person's only choices are the races that are on the list if they want to experience the special dialogues that come after marriage.

Does anyone know what the special dialogues (spoken) are? I saw the women calling the men "Darling" and stuff, but I'm talking about the special dialogues for the males candidates.

Posted by: Grits Nov 29 2011, 01:06 PM

I heard a guy call his wife “love” or “my love,” and she called him darling. They were talking about temple business, though, so I doubt that was general marriage chat.

That stinks about the voice situation. I think some of the men on that page have houses, but there are possibly more players out there marrying female NPCs and filling in the wiki. Balimund, for example. He has a shop, I’ll have to look around and see if he has a house.

I hope that is the case. Also - I hope there is a male High Elf that has not made it onto that list too, because that would mean the voice files are there.

So, the nasty Altmer lady in Solitude who gave Rowan a hard time about her outfit is named Taarie, she owns the store Radiant Raiment, and there is a little quest that I won’t spoil. I’m adding her to Rowan’s rejected list. The attitude on that woman!! It seems that she is the only available Altmer in the game.

Onmund is the biggest wus I've ever seen. I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't done the quest, but ... it would be a blistering hot day in Skyrim before Maxical will even speak to the whiney little weasel again.

By the way - an update: Maxical got rid of the (2) Amulets of Mara she had and went to Riften and bought the correct one (just in case that quest needed to be started properly).

She cornered Quaranir in the Inn and stripped the robe off to check him out. (not bad, really). He has blonde hair, that was a surprise. He was thin, slightly muscular, and oddly enough had some dark curly chest hair!

None of the shirtless guys in Whiterun had chest hair, so that was really surprising. The whites of his eyes are yellowish green (sickle cell anemia? Jaundice? ... Hepatitis? Urk!), and he glares a lot.

So anyway, even though he had no conversation at the time she tried to "console him" into marriage. Nothing happened, (other than him telling her there was no greater pleasure than talking to her). I found out the person has to have topics and be talking or it won't work. So the next time he talks to her, watch out.

** If it doesn't work, she may try those console tricks on the Jarl of Markarth. He is clean, and likes the heck out of her after she raised his disposition in the console, ROFL !!!

Rowan’s game is on its knees, but she managed to finally meet Quaranir! Now I see why Maxical was torn up when he left. And surprised about the blondness. I love his voice. Maybe he’ll get tired of being a monk and get modded back to Skyrim?

Rowan and Vorstag are engaged. I only hope I can get them to the temple before her game explodes irreparably. Darn broken dragons. It was a very brief and sudden conversation standing in Whiterun in the rain. Rowan forgot she was wearing the Amulet (it looks nice with her favorite dress), so she was a little surprised when Vorstag mentioned it. She was just going to give him a bunch of freshly mixed health potions, but she ended up saying yes. I thought the dialog was quite sweet. I’ll see if I can get a picture of my TV at their wedding.

I'm going to try to "placeatme" Quaranir and console him into marriage again, see if it works this time (or if the "placeatme" even works with him). If she can't have him, Maxical plans to release the dragons in her game and turn into a dragon fighter for hire, lol.

Posted by: mALX Dec 13 2011, 03:36 PM

Well, the "placeatme" acted like it worked, but no Quaranir appeared. I tried it several times and in several diff places. Maxical got several other proposals last night, the only one that was tempting was from her female housecarl in Solitude (but she ignored that one too). sad.gif

Jordis the Sword Maiden was leaping on Maxical like she smelled fried chicken. She couldn't stop talking about her amulet. She is def easier on the eyes than any of the others that were fawning over her amulet - in fact one of them that was didn't have any eyes, just black circles (and was begging her for gold) - uh...yuh - No.

I'll check Falk Firebeard out next time Maxical is there - she is wanting to go back anyway to get the second Wolf Queen quest.

The Marriage thing is a little creepy sometimes...

I walk into my hard-earned Honeyside in Riften, and I guess I was awarded a housecarl without even being told so, because the first thing I hear is "Greetings, My Thane!" Which made me jump a little.

Having just come from talking to Maramal I had an Amulet, so I talked to her not realizing that I was wearing it still. So the first thing this creepy stranger in my house asks me is if I'm looking for Marriage....

Shes still waiting for me in some distant Dwemer ruin....

SPEW !!! ROFL !! You better pray she lives through it if you ever plan to marry though - I've heard these housecarls pop up at your wedding AFTER they die - their decaying corpses rolling in as a warning to your prospective bride to be what happened to the last people who got close to you. The new bride gets the message loud and clear and runs like a banshee away from you, ending the romance even quicker than it started.

*Nods* This is true, they did say that they will take care of you....even in death!!!! Muahahah

He does like his men dirty wink.gif, and he has no problem with Argonian cooking, he prefers Khajiit and Dunmer though, since his parents were a Khajiit and a Dunmer tongue.gif

It is hard to say no to Balimund, but I already tested it out, Filnjar is way more romantic than Balimund hahaha.

My vote has to go with Scouts - who could resist that smiling face? Even with just one eye, a man wants to see something good when he looks through it. Also, Scouts's personality seems to be a lot of fun - much better than a glaring, gripey partner. (plus, he may be bald, but he is green so it doesn't show as much as it does on Filmyjar).

Here's a Skyrim wedding story. smile.gif

Rowan and Vorstag made the trek to Riften to get hitched, making a long detour around the broken dragon over Mistwatch that always kills the game. Vorstag hounded her the entire way.

Vorstag: You should go make the arrangements for our wedding right away. I can’t wait.

Rowan: (wiping the blood from her sword) Good gods, man, where do you think we’re going? Oh, and here’s another bear pelt for you to carry.

When they got to the temple, the priest took one look at Rowan and asked if she was feeling sick. Yep, she picked up something gross from a critter. One quick blessing at the altar, and the feverish bride was now merely blushing.

Before he would arrange the ceremony, Maramal offered the couple some pre-marital counseling. Some of the questions gave Vorstag crazy eyes.

Rowan: Have we been doing what?!

Vorstag: http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/crazyeyes.jpg

Rowan planned for them to spend the night at the Bee and Barb, but when they got there Vorstag took off. He said he would see his bride at their wedding. Oh, and could he borrow some of her war paint.

The next morning Rowan dressed carefully and headed over to the temple. There she found Vorstag looking hot in his original armor instead of the shiny stuff that she spent so many hours making for him. It reminded her of all the good times they’ve had, all the way back to their very first meeting.

Unfortunately her reminiscences took longer than the ceremony. I don’t have a picture of it, because Vorstag bolted out the door right after they said their vows. Rowan had to chase him down to find out where they would be living. Maybe it’s a Nord thing. If you can’t catch him, you don’t get to keep him.

Anyway, I did get one picture of the bride before the race started. Here she’s saying, http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/VorstagWTF-1.jpg to her man’s fleeing back.

She had to run all the way from Riften to Markarth for her Lover's Comfort, and she got arrested the second she walked up to the gate. But that’s another story. smile.gif

I'll say my congrats to Rowan on her marriage, but if you ask me - Vorstag is the one getting a good deal, lol.

What is with the bulldog jaws on all these Nord men? They all look like they have a huge underbite. Maxical said ... well, never mind.

I agree with KC, that was more of a wedding fiasco, lol. The only thing it lacked was dead friends showing up (or hired thugs, lol).

So Vorstag suddenly becomes difficult when the wedding is imminent, huh? Good to know for future reference, ROFL !!

Now, now Rowan, you're not supposed to get your Comfort in the middle of the street. nono.gif laugh.gif

Posted by: mALX Dec 14 2011, 02:59 PM

Vorstag: "Guards, quick! This woman's been chasing me since Riften! Arrest her!"

Guards: "Looks like we've got us a stalker, grab her men!"

Rowan: "Huh? Wha...hey! Stop! This is my wedding niiii..." (later) "All I wanted was a little comfort..."

Posted by: Grits Dec 23 2011, 04:55 PM

Rowan and Vorstag are enjoying wedded bliss, for the most part. It is a little sad when Rowan comes home to find her burly death machine parked in a chair. “Hello, my love,” he says wistfully. “Back from one of your many adventures?”

So then she gives him a little something to do, like fix her dinner.

“This is fresh,” he says. “I’ll have another one ready tomorrow.”

blink.gif Uh, ‘fresh’? Is that anything like your definition of ‘clean’?

If he’s going to keep cooking, Rowan needs to get a dog.

Well at least he did finally settle down and accept that he was married. That sprint from Riften had me worried, lol.

I was looking at the voice actors for the game and noticed on the marriageable list that a select few had their own particular voice actor instead of one of those generic voice actors for the whole race. Farkas was one of these few. Since he was designed to be marriageable, I was hoping he may have some special dialogue options after marriage. He may not, but even if he has the same lines he may do a less wooden job of saying them. One can hope anyway, lol. Anyway, Maxical is going to test it out and see if she can get the marriage option from him via console before the quest completes. (otherwise she will have to wait till she finishes two other things and then will get over there and do the companions questline).

His filthiness, greasy hair, and huge black circles around his eyes are more of a turn-off than the wolf beast side of him - but his personality is very nice and he is Awesome to dungeon crawl with. I did download a mod that cleans Farkas and Vilkus up - will install it before the wedding and see if it helps the "wet dog" smell to go away, lol.

Posted by: Grits Dec 23 2011, 05:26 PM

Oh, please post some screens of the cleaned up twins! That's interesting about the dialog, I never would have thought of that.

Posted by: mALX Dec 23 2011, 06:44 PM

I can't understand why Bethesda insists on giving us characters that look grotesque when the modding community has proven repeatedly that we want something visually attractive. Yes it is a fantasy game, but who's fantasy is to bed filthy greasy bear-types (or wrinkled green ants/hornets with clothing on) - or woman who glare perpetually, talk like a man, and want to beat you down to see if you are "man enough" to wed them? (Certainly not Maxical's, lol).

Going on just personality alone - only three men (that she has met so far) were likable enough for marriage: the Smithy in Riften, Farkas, and the Jarl of Whiterun.

The sweetest women (so far that she has met) were Ilisif the Fair (Awesome), and Adrienne (the Smithy in Whiterun) - but Adrienne can be moody at times. Neither are on the mariageable list, but a few console keys can fix that.

There is also a mod that helps the spouse take off their dirty bloody armor before crawling into bed beside your character. They will be in their diapers/bikinis (or not) at your discretion. So far they do not have one that changes them into their pajamas yet.

That would be great. I wonder how much longer the pajama mod will take than the naked one. tongue.gif

Rowan got fed up with Lydia’s front row seat in the Breezehome marital bedchamber, so she finally figured out how to buy the house in Solitude. She will NOT be accepting the honor of Thane just yet to avoid a repeat housecarl situation. Pretty soon she and Vorstag will head out on their honeymoon trip, hauling 25 pounds of reading material up a mountain.

On the next road trip I'm going to study how Vorstag's 'shop' works. It looks like Rowan can sell him their loot as they go, which would be great. Not so great if the stuff she gives him to carry has to be bought back from him, or if he buys her loot and then has too much weight to carry the loot he hasn't bought yet.

You may want to hold off selling to him, because you don't gain money from your spouse from what I've heard. You have to buy from him, but he doesn't have to pay for what you sell to him. Talk about a rip !!!

He will give you 100 per day if you ask him "how's business going."

He'd better not sell his ebony axe to some stranger, or there will be hell to pay when his wife finds out. Also he has zero gold for purchasing. So I thought you had to sleep at home to get that extra 5% from your spouse. Well. The newlyweds Rowan and Vorstag stopped for the night on their way up to the Throat of the World, and in the morning they were busted by that little message on the screen: You awaken feeling your Lover’s Comfort.

Rowan: whistling.gif

Vorstag: goodjob.gif

Grits: ohmy.gif

Apparently you can be anywhere with your spouse including a room on the ground floor of a crowded tavern that doesn’t even have a door. Or maybe Vorstag is just an overachiever.

Grits: Rowan, I try to stay out of your business, but do you really think it’s a good idea to leave them all alone here, day after day? I mean, “Sword-Maiden”? Come on.

Rowan: Look at her.

(Jordis stands tall with her shoulders back, aglow with strength and beauty. Her eyes scan the room for any hint of danger. Marauding dust bunnies? Who knows. But nothing will escape her glacial gaze, and never will she relax her vigil. When her eyes land on Rowan, her armored chest lifts with pride.)

Jordis the Sword-Maiden: It is an honor to serve you, my Thane.

Grits: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying. I mean she’s blonde, busty, legs up to here, she’s a Nord for crying out loud. Plus she’s way younger than you, and—

Rowan: Now look at him.

(Vorstag slouches in a chair, head back and eyes glazed over. One hand quests in the far reaches of his jaw for gods-know what between his teeth while the other taps out a rhythm on his hairy knee.

Grits:

Rowan: (sighs with utter devotion) That’s my man.

There is a mod that cleans up Calder on the Nexus, but it just gives him a bath. He really didn't look any different in it hardly at all, it was very hard to see anything had been done at all.

I saw a wedding vid of Vilkas that was pretty cool - he said a lot more romantic things than Farkas did, but didn't have Farkas's deep voice.

On the PC just hit "PrintScreen" for the game to snap the picture. Steam also has a game picture capture that I have hit accidentally several times, not sure which key it is. If you are on the 360 or PS3 then ask Grits how she is doing it - she has given us some Awesome screens off hers somehow.

Posted by: Grits Jan 3 2012, 03:48 PM

Farkas vs. Vilkas: I checked out their living quarters. Farkas has a single bed, Vilkas has a double. This is an issue for me because I could no more separate the brothers than take Balimund wub.gif away from his forge. Although I guess you could marry one and keep the other as a follower. Hmm…

Grits’ tips on how to take a picture of your TV:

Experiment with your camera to see how close you should stand.

Disable the flash.

Hold your arms pressed against your sides to steady the camera.

Gently squeeze the shutter button, don’t press it.

Take a lot of pictures. Most of mine still end up too blurry.

Go for it, Cushla! smile.gif

(And thank you, mALX! happy.gif)

It's F12 for the Steam screen shot.

Just a small heads up, Vilkas does have a double bed, but it only works like it's a single bed, aka if you try to sleep on it when he is sleeping it does not let you.
Balimund also has a single bed.
I myself would go with Scouts tongue.gif

"After marriage, when acknowledging the player's presence, Scouts-Many-Marshes will say:
"Ah, it's my love come to visit."
"Is there anything you need, dearest?"
Player: "Has the store made any money?"
"The gold is flowing nicely, here is your half of the profits, my dearest."

"Would you mind cooking something for me?"
"Here. This is from a recipe my people have passed onto me. I can cook another tomorrow."

If I recall Balimund(and Farkas and everyone else with the same voice) say(something along the lines of) "Here, it's nice and warm, i'll have one ready tomorrow." when you ask them to make food for you.

Of course when http://i1239.photobucket.com/albums/ff506/Omar_Tes/HNI_0001.jpg goes to sleep, we wait until Balimund enters his room (around 11pm) then go to sleep, and we wake up at around 5am with lovers comfort, then Balimund goes to sleep for one hour tongue.gif, then sits in the chair for another hour eating before heading outside to the forge.

A little word of warning if you chose Balimund, thieves have a tendency to break into his house, of course Godfrey protects his husband and their adopted kiddy wink.gif

BTW, I take pictures with a DSiXL, I'm going to get a capture device (if my laptop can handle it :/) so I won't have this much trouble anymore though!

Edit; actually, I will be playing later today (once my parents head to bed) So I can post all the marriage dialog for the different voices.

Grits, you don't have to take the brothers away from each other, you can just chose to live with them, just make sure when they enter their room to head to sleep you go to sleep first, that way you can get the comfort biggrin.gif

Haha, I just noticed he does look like Falk xD, Also love Marcurio's comments ^^
Not sure about a safe place in Jorrvaskr, there are mixed opinions around the net'
Also I believe than if you move in with someone, things still respawn inside it, I'm still testing it within Balimund's house though.

My suggestion? Do the test, empty every container from Jorrvaskr then wait 30 days outside of the building tongue.gif

I could do it for you if you want though, I have allot of free time wink.gif

Posted by: Grits Jan 4 2012, 07:43 PM

I tested the Jorrvaskr Harbinger quarters, and all but the barrel and chest in the bedroom are safe. That means the chest on top of the wardrobe respawns. Yeah, the place where you’d put all of your treasure. Argh! Also in the whelp quarters the wardrobe and dresser are safe, as well as the furniture in the main hall. Not the barrels or sacks. I don’t know if any fellow Companions will take anything, but it seems that living there if you marry a Companion (see, I finally got to the point) would be feasible. I didn’t check any of the owned containers.

On the subject of courtship: I don’t know if it’s the beast blood or a bug, but Jensa has had her wild heart broken. Here’s what happened:

I went through Rorikstead today, instead of going around like usual. I don’t know what possessed me to put on my Amulet of Mara. Well I do, but it hurts to admit it.

Sure enough, there was Erik right in the middle of town, keeping one eye on the sky and the other on the hills. He lit right up with that smile when he saw me.

“Good to see you, friend!” he calls out. “You’re keeping well, I hope.”

We chat for a moment, and he tells me how they’ve had less trouble now that a few of Rorikstead’s sons and daughters stand armed and ready in the street. I say it looks like his axe is good and sharp, and he gives a whistle when he checks out my Skyforged blade. Then I say farewell and hit the road before the tears start falling.

Dammit. If he didn’t want me before, he sure won’t want me now. I could do worse than having a man like him call me friend. I’d better not go through Rorikstead again. Friend is how I’d like him to remember me.

So as for my poor Cushla... I'm feeling particularly crushed... I spent my days and nights with the companions and decided after purifying Farkas and Vilkas that Vilkas was the one who really held away over my heart. I purified myself... I asked Vilkas to follow me to now beautiful and flourishing Gildergreen that we healed together... I donned the amulet of Mara and spoke with him... He romantically proposed and I agree it would be he and I together until the nine divines would take us... Take my time and arrange the wedding he urged and we parted ways... I couldn't wait and left for Riften and within a day we were wed... He suggested his place but I thought we would do well to occupy Breezeholm... We left to activate the Warriors stone nearby and return home after fending off a dragon attack.... Arrive home... Lydia is in our room... I try to rest with him and there is no love... No lovers comfort... What did I do wrong?? Sighs... Perhaps Vilkas and I were not meant to be... *sobs*

URK !!! There could be one of two glitches affecting the marriage. The first: There have been some issues with going straight to your home. Change that by going to his home (or bed) and spend the night. After spending the night there, then move to Breezehome again. Spend the night and see if it has fixed the bug.

If that doesn't fix it, there is another bug - sometimes the effects of the werewolf in blocking Lovers Comfort are unfortunately permanent until a patch fixes the issue.

Unfortunately he never moved into my house in Whiterun, he just stayed at the tavern in Windhelm. But he does say all the cute marriage lines like "Hello my love. Back from some adventure?" and gives home-cooked meals and a store profit.
I tried to make him a follower too with console commands, but it didn't work.

OMG, I love that hat she is wearing !! Is that Cicero's hat?

If he has a quest active his AI may be stopping him from being a follower, have you completed his Windlhelm quest yet? After that he may start following.

Also, there has to be a representative race/sex follower for the "follower dialogue" to become avialable - (I don't know if there are other Bosmer male followers, someone else may know).

Congrats on your marriage !!!!

Posted by: drakkenfan Jan 15 2012, 08:26 PM

If I complete his quest by telling him the Thalmor assassin is dead he just takes off for Morrowind and never returns. So I've left that quest unfinished. He does have all the follower dialog and options, but just doesn't follow me. However, I haven't tried finishing the quest after adding him as a follower. I'm going to try that. Maybe he'll finally follow me. smile.gif

Make sure to save beforehand, I'm afraid you'll lose him otherwise. Maxical lost Quaranir that way. Once the Creation Kit comes out that will be fixable.

I guess that’s why I couldn’t find any videos for “Roggi Knot-Beard’s Wedding.” tongue.gif

That guy? Talk about settling for less. I have noticed that the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW_Icon_MI_Petty_Soul_Gem.png in Morrowind look like sex toys. I suggest one of those instead. biggrin.gif

ROFL !!!! Or slip under Haelga's bed and steal her ... apparatus. I think 97% of the male choices Bethesda provided for marriage belong in that "Lowered Expectations" singles dating club, ROFL !!!

Sorry. To be fair, Aravi isn't interested in finding a mate yet.

Jensa and Stenvar are engaged biggrin.gif, but they haven’t set a wedding date yet. They also haven’t posed for a formal engagement portrait. Here they are http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/EngagementPicture.png. I think that’s as close as we’re going to get with these two.

Stenvar seems a little unapproachable at first, but he has quite a bit to say once you get to know him. He jokes a lot and actually smiles. I think that’s how he won Jensa’s heart. It’s a grim world out there, and so many people say, “What do you need to take?” when all you want is to give them some healing potions. Not Stenvar. smile.gif

Jensa is officially off the market. Here is a picture of http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/WeddingDay.png. He was in his default armor for the actual ceremony, but I’m not quick enough to get that picture and still operate the controller. Skyrim weddings resemble a foot race.

Stenvar is not terribly romantic. He says “dear” like he’s not quite sure what it means. But hey, he’s Stenvar! Also he got stuck beside a rock on the way from Riften to Windhelm. Luckily Jensa was walking along behind him (checking out that view for a change tongue.gif), so she saw what happened. Otherwise he would probably still be standing there, and she would be both heartbroken and homicidal. I will recommend to my future brides and grooms that they either walk along with their new spouse or take them as a follower right away.

http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/AllekandMarcurio.png. At first I was skeptical. This is going to end with an Imperial mage in a pool of blood, I thought. So I asked Allek about it.

“I don’t have any reason to kill Marcurio,” said Allek, genuinely puzzled. Hmm. Not quite reassuring, but good enough.

Before the wedding Allek went to great lengths so that he could improve and enchant some gifts for Marcurio. He had never previously enchanted anything. It took some time for him to find suitably powerful bandit souls for the enchantments. He also took Iona off into the wilderness and murdered her, because Marcurio didn’t like the noise she made when she chewed. (They live at Honeyside.) Actually that may have been an excuse. We all found that annoying. Of course he didn’t tell Marcurio. He still thinks she’s visiting her mother.

On their wedding day Allek chose to wear festive Mythic Dawn robes. Marcurio must have found that slightly alarming, because he mysteriously armed himself with a bow and glass arrows for the ceremony. The picture is from later. I wish I had caught him with the weapons. It was surprising.

Marcurio is snarky, arrogant, and impatient. Much to my complete shock, he is also charming and romantic. He really sounds pleased to see Allek, happy to cook for him, and quite proud of the profits he shares. Of course when Allek gave him his gifts after the wedding, he had his usual abrupt reply. He hasn’t sold them at his “store” yet. Gods help him if he does.

So now we come to the tale of Mikke’s wedding.

First I should mention that Mikke of Green River is a werewolf. Here’s picture of her back in the http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/MikkeofGreenRiver.jpg with her best buddy Torvar. She loves to travel with Torvar because he’s funny, he doesn’t judge, and he usually smells worse than she does. He doesn’t mind when she wolfs out and eats a bunch of bandits either, even though one time she almost accidentally ate him.

Mikke went through some changes when she travelled with the ultra-feminine vampire Serana. She spent some time thinking about what family meant to her, and what she had been willing to do without. When she met a street urchin in Windhelm, everything became clear. She set up a household in the previously abandoned Windstad Manor (I made the abandoned part up) so that she could provide a home for Sofie and Alesan (another hardworking street kid). Her friend Lydia lives there with them (steward) along with the Housecarl, bard, and carriage driver. After all, Mikke is often busy with the world-saving. She did grow her hair out and ease up on the war paint so she wouldn’t scare the kids. Here’s her http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/MikkeCleanedUp.jpg.

So anyway one snowy afternoon Mikke and Torvar walked out of the Windhelm gates and into a dragon ambush. It took ages to kill the thing. They worked up a powerful thirst. Mikke said they could drink all night when they got to Riften.

They didn’t get far before Torvar convinced her to stop. Kynesgrove was right there, they could just run up the hill for one mead, he said. Mikke agreed.

In the Braidwood Inn, Mikke met a man named http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/RoggiKnot-Beard.jpg. Now, I have heard a lot of dialog from Roggi, but I never heard the things he said to Mikke. Maybe it was the way she kept standing there and talking to him, but he had a lot of nice things to say to her. She was smitten.

It took several trips back to Kynesgrove, but eventually she got up the nerve to hit on him. As these things go in Skyrim he immediately agreed to marry her.

A funny thing happened when Mikke and Torvar went to Riften to arrange the wedding. While Mikke was talking to Maramal, Torvar was idling in the background. Then when she turned around to leave, Torvar was standing with his arms crossed over his chest, glaring. I have never seen that animation from a follower before!

Maramal said come back tomorrow for your wedding, ha ha don’t be late! It was about 9 bells of the morning watch. Mikke suggested that they work off the pre-wedding jitters by slaughtering the closest bandit clan. Torvar agreed.

At the top of Fort Greenwall amidst a festival of axe mayhem, Mikke had the sudden thought (Quest Failed: Attend Your Wedding Ceremony) that she had screwed up big time. She sprinted back to the Temple of Mara, dripping bandit blood the whole way. Maramal was pissed. Torvar was smug. Mikke was confused.

Back in Kynesgrove she kept the apology simple. Roggi decided to give her another chance. This time she made it on time.

Here is a picture of http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/MikkesWedding.jpg at their wedding. Here is http://i1106.photobucket.com/albums/h361/grits29/UnhappyTorvar.jpg, and some guy in the back row that I don’t recognize. Anyone know who that is?

Married life can be confusing for a werewolf. She and her sweet husband share a bedchamber with the children. She hopes that’s why Roggi won’t put out. (Her beast blood keeps her from feeling her Lover’s Comfort.) Also you can take the man out of Steamscorch Mine, but you can’t take the miner out of the man. Roggi spends his days quarrying rock near the garden. He won’t cook for her either. Also he seems to have closed his shop.

On the plus side, he stoked up (or whatever) the mead barrels. Now the old Windstad place is known as the Ghost Marsh Meadery.

Mikke is traveling with Erik the Slayer now. When she looks at Torvar, she gets the feeling that she may have made a mistake.

I remember Mikke! Her look did ease up when she laid off the dreds. Ha! Torvar sabotaged her wedding! I thought she would hook up with Torvy after that. But no, Knoty still came through. But Erik the Farmer erm, Slayer is in the henhouse now. biggrin.gif

You know, none of my Skyrim characters has ever gotten married. The nearest one to ever do it was Hrafn, but her man (Ralof) was of course unmarriable.

Loved that story, Grits! Mikke is very attractive, too, holy compassion. Gives me hope when I'm making some females in the future. I also liked the part where you describe Torvar's glare! nono.gif And when they wanted to work off their "jitters" by going on a bandit raid!

I've had 2 or 3 characters get married so far. I've haven't yet put much effort into making a huge deal about it (RP wise) but that might change with my upcoming Crusader character: Lord Haff-Mersey biggrin.gif Haff-Mersey is totally going to be the marrying type.

So http://imgur.com/DSP1E0a is once again in the throes of a crush. Two at the same time, actually. Well, three if you count the torch she still carries for Erik the Doesn’t Think Of Denelle In That Way. She also thinks that Argis the Bulwark is quite the man, but Argis does not seem impressed with her. He says things like, “I’ll be back at YOUR house if you need me,” when she dismisses him. Also she thinks it might be creepy and exploitive to make advances on one’s Housecarl. So Argis is also forever out of reach.

Now unlike some of my cheerful sluts, Denelle has kept her legs crossed through many a thrilling adventure. She is definitely lonely, so I think it’s a case of waiting for The One rather than she’s just not that interested. Her last assignment was to get a book for the College, which she did. When she and Argis went into the dorm to crash (separately) for a while before heading back to the Reach, Denelle dropped in to see her mage friends.

To my surprise she invited Onmund to join her. (On her travels. She was not hitting on him.)

Now I, Grits, have always viewed Onmund as something of a weenie. “Oooh, I gave away my necklace because my family made me mad, and now I want it back but that mean old elf is sooo scary!” Ahem. Sorry, Denelle.

Also he made a strange remark about Neloth, which seems to be a Dragonborn bug. But I guess Denelle sees something else in him.

Of course the first thing she did the next day was give him a makeover. Do you recognize http://imgur.com/gDk8cA7?

So we’ll see. After Erik’s flat rejection it will take a lot to get her to dig that Amulet of Mara out of the drawer. So far it’s been good beween Denelle and Onmund. He’s opened up about his religion (a comment he made), saved her little butt several times with his shock spells, impressed her with his smooth use of sword and Ward, and most importantly he always stays out of her shot.
