Chorrol.com _ Lord Revan _ Revan part 1

Posted by: Lord Revan May 26 2006, 08:44 AM

A tall brooding figure looked over the landscape, from the atop a sigil keep in Oblivion... The man reflected on how many years ago he was made the ultimate pawn of the Deadric princes.

That was 113 years ago, yet it felt like yesterday. Orphaned shortly after birth, he had grow up as an assassin of the Morag Tong, in Vardenfell, one of the best among his peers. But when the Dark Brotherhood came to Morrowind, it all went wrong. The small enclave that he was being trained at was raided.

Though he and the other Morag Tong fought and killed many of the intruders, Revan was separted from the Morag Tong by the Dark Brotherhood assassins.
Disheartened by the deaths of those he'd grown up with, he refused to go to another guild hall. For many years, Revan moved restlessly, his heart hardened until he became solitary and distrusting of others in general.

Over those long 120 years I've worked with almost every Deadric Prince. He thought to himself.

Azura, Maphala, Mehrunes Dagon, and Hurcine had used him to accomplish things beyond their devine influence. Revan had done much: plundering, medling with other lord's affairs, and such. As he stalked down the hallway several dramora were gorging themselves on roasted flesh.
Revan despised them and saw them as simple brutes in that repulsive, jagged armor of theirs. In contrast, his armor was light-wieght, smooth, and flexible. The woven underlayer of the armor was as black as the ebony, while the pauldrons, greaves, boots, gauntlets, cuirass, and helmet were a light red shade.

The hellish landscape of Mehrunes Dagon's domain greeted him as he exited the keep. While the mortal world was still protected from Oblivion, Revan could summon a small tear in the devine barrier. The journey from Oblivion by these means was as comfortable to say the least. There was no light, but it was not the sacred darkness of night.

The rift opened a few feet of the ground and Revan landed feet-first in a patch of snow. The cold didn't bother him, he couldn't feel it through his armor. I should take my time, anything to stall returning to find another job....

Despite his dislike of snow, Revan found the Jerall Mountains more appealing than Lord Dagon's realm. Casting a glance up the road, he spotted his targets' not-so-secure hideout: Bruma. So, an entire vampire clan, should be interesting.....

..... uh any constructive critic would be appriciated

Posted by: Mazelure Jun 14 2006, 11:35 PM

Man... you have good discriptive skills... but you dont seem to post that much... just very little... plus I realy havent played Oblivion yet... so I feel out of place in this story... but yeah... if you want my advice... just next time you post another part of your story make it longer... and what realy helps out in stories is when you put something eyecatching... like "They are dead... they are all dead..." or something catching like that... and also when you end a chapter/post make the readers wanting for more... well that is my advice to you... but then again you should probaly not listen to me that much since my stories werent that much of a sucess either... o well...

Posted by: Lord Revan Jun 15 2006, 04:30 AM

thanks for the critic; I'm not used to this and I haven't had alot of sleep lately.

I've already gotten through the main quest of Oblivion, and I know someone who has earned ALL the achievements and 1,000 gamescore

His marks were a vampire patriarch and matriarch who intended to use Bruma as a new feeding (and breeding) ground for a upstart clan. Revan would have to play a crusader on a 'mission of mercy'. However, he knew a way to get some help.
It would be a full moon tonight, and a migrating pack of werewolves would be passing by right about now.
Revan planned to use the monster's predudice to cause a conflict, then he'd come in and eliminate the stragglers. It was noon when he entered the city, Revan quickly spotted a begger sulking behind a building.

"A coin for an ol' begger?" the begger whimpered as soon as the armored figure.
"I'll pay you fifty if you spread a little rumor for me"

"FIFTY!" the begger exclaimed grinning, but then his expression turned unexpectedly shrewed. "What's the catch?"

"The 'catch' is that it spreads quickly and people believe it" Revan replied casually.
The begger stared at him warily for a few seconds, "All right let's hear it".
"Inform everyone you meet, that a dying Imperial forester told you that a pack of werewolf attacked him near here", Revan ordered. The begger looked doubtful, but accepted the gold saying he would do as instructed.

As the peasent retreated with the bag; Revan allowed a concealed smirk, if this worked the fledgling vampires would confront the werewolfs and he would have a much easier task and entertainment.

Many of his other jobs had been conducted in similar ways; even though he was perfectly capable of doing all this on his own, Revan had not been raised as a full-fladged warrior who bashed every breathing entity with a warhammer the size of his head.

Now Revan simply had to would wait until tonight, the moon would be full and the werewolfs would arrive and the vampires would rise to defened their property, niether knowing that to fight would only lead to death.

Revan sat on one of the walls that separated the city from the castle, and meditated. He had no regret for what he had become after his life had been destroyed; Revan had never felt love for another or vice versa.

Never had he met a woman whom he had felt any fondness, yet despite his clarity of purpose, Revan felt... hollow. He had no friends or companions; he stood alone without the luxuries, with demons, and without.....

Chapter 1/part 2: Ready For Battle

Revan felt rejuvenated and focused on his mission. He jumped down from the chapel, absorbing the shock in his legs, startling more than a few commoners, and made his way to the tavern 'Tap and Tack' to see if the peasent had come through.

It turned out that he had, The tavern was full of various characters whispering worriedly to one another. "Is it true?"
"Aye it is, tis a dark day for us."
"What will we do?"
"We'll just just wait it out; those mosters with be turned tonight and we'll know who they are."
"I hope it will be that simple."
"Cource it will, I've been see'n them for years in Skyrim; you just have to be smart about 'em."
"Well we can only hope and pray for the best."
The croud split up and left the inn.

Revan approached the bartender,"What are they worried about?" fiegning ingnorence.
"They say some werewolfs are going to be outside the city gates tonight"
Revan acted suddenly interested,"what will the watch do?"
"They figure them werewolfs will just pass us by; they won't raise a finger."
"So they're complacent?" Revan asked.
"Aye, bunch of heartland pigs the count and his wife to."
"Thanks, for the info."
"Yeah,yeah.... hey are you staying in Bruma for awhile?"
"No, not long I'm meeting someone later tonight,"Revan replied.
"Ah well feel free to hang around The Tap and Tack," the bartender said disapointedly.

He didn't 'hang around' Revan just needed to make sure that the trap was set.
Revan quikly scaled the chapel and looked over to the north; he could feel the werewolf's hunger.... and the vampire's angerin the icy air.
the sun would set in a matter of hours; he decided to check his weapons.
His enchanted staff was in good condition, his darts and throwing stars were secured to his belt, and his armor was in excelent condition and was clean; now he would wait..... as the tension mounted its climax.

Revan chapter 1/part 2: The Massacre

Revan opened his eyes, and saw the full moon almost at it's peak; it was time. As he leaped over the walls of Bruma; he rooted out the two other parties of combatants.

They were both converging outside of Echo Cave; as the shadow watched the carnage unfold.... the vampire's had three archers perched on the long branch of a tree, several summoners, and the mother and father themselves clad head to toe in glass armor. The werewolves entered the clearing with inhuman speed, as the the two groups fought the battle split into several small head-to-head brawls.

It was a mortal's worst fear realized: a werewolf, impaled with a dwarven arrow of burning, vaulted and tore a mer archer from the branch by her leg and snapped her neck with a flick of it's head. The other vampiric archers then nocked and fired their arrows in unison at the wolf, which became encrusted with icicles and burst into flames and fell dead. The summoners conjured deadra and undead, all of which fell quickly before the blood-crazed wolfs.

Soon all fighters that remained were the Vampire mother and father, the Werewolf Chiefton, and ,of course, the shrouded observer, all but the latter were exausted. However the wolf (who possesed the strength and primal fury of an animal) was all over the to panicking vampires, and first the patron.... and the as the matron fell to the beast, the shadow made his move.

Revan releashed a flock of throwing knives and ninja stars, all guided by their throwers's will, to strike the ailing survivor..... not one missed their mark. The wolf, pooling blood, released a pained howl of pain and fell to its knees. Then the shadow leaped from his tree branch, landing on the dying monster, loped his arms over the wolfs neck, wrung it..... and then it was all over just as the sun came into sight.

I certainly agree that was a massacre. It was definately bright of Revan to wait out the battle and finish off the remnents. Thoroughly enjoyable.... (If you find violent battles enjoyable, which i do laugh.gif )

Posted by: Mazelure Jun 19 2006, 02:38 PM

Hell yeah that was a massacre... more like a slaughter on both sides... poor poor vampires... but the warewolf had it coming to them... so tongue.gif ...

Revan Chapter 1/part 3: Away From Home

Revan signed and rose to watch as the sun rose above horizon. He stared for several moment, and allowed himself to feel a little homesick............ for a home which didn't exist.

Revan had been handed over to the Morag Tong as an infant, so all of the assasins had brought him up as their own. But he was...... different, everyone had knew that. He was a natural warrior and magic-user, he excersized quick thinking with deft intelligence, but he felt........ odd.

A common (if not hasty) conclusion is that none knew his heritage. His parents seemingly never existed, no one knew them or his family name, his very deliverence into the Morag Tong was unknown, the fact was that niether he or anyone else knew who he was or where he hailed from.

He opened his eyes realizing he stayed too long, he gestured and all the bodies burst into flames, magic surged through his body; Revan began to sprint southwest, the province of Valenwood.

Posted by: jack cloudy Jul 5 2006, 08:40 AM

Hmm, emotional. smile.gif So he's going to Valenwood? I think my characters would love Valenwood. Things burn so easily there. (So I believe that the Bosmer have some sort of fire fighting group to keep ignorant outlanders from burning down the whole province. biggrin.gif )

Chapter 1/part 4:Greetings brother...

Three figures in similar armor were gathered in a small clearing speaking in a language none in Tamriel knew, let alone understood, when a bolt of energy struck a fallen tree setting it ablaze near them and shattered the otherwise serene atmoshere. The three beings sped off into the brush, leaping treebranch to treebranch, as several more blasts flew past them, they all halted in another clearing in front of a figure in bulky golden armor....

Revan shuddered he was marshaling his past and future on a treebranch, where had this vision come from?
It was a memory..... but it wasn't his, the three armored beings had armor like his but without its red hue..... Revan didn't even know where it came from or what it was. the people in his armor had felt more like him than other Dunmer did..... so were they his ansestors? The figure in gold felt alien to him, who was it?

Something was wrong he knew someone was watching him..... That was all the warning he got before the air around Revan exploded. He was thrown off the branch by the blast, Revan hit the ground hard on his knees and as he looked up he saw a tall being in golden armor on a nearby branch.

The gold being loosed another lance of energy, Revan threw himself out of the way as the ground was ripped open where he had been. He winced when he stood on his left leg, I must have broke it when I landed, he realized coldly. The being jumped down in front of Revan,"You fallen ones are all the same",the being jeered. Oh, just you wait, Revan thought as he launched himself at the being. Time seemed to slow down as Revan's supernatural reflexes kicked in, he grabbed a piece of the beings armor;
swung around and wrapped his arms around the being's neck and pushed forward... Revan landed on the beings back and pulled on its neck.

The Being had recovered from the shock of getting thrown to the ground, and blew Revan of with a telekentic wave. "HOW DARE YOU!!", It screamed and loosed another blast of energy. Revan couldn't dodge in time, so he took the other option(other than taking a lethal blast of energy) and reached out his hands. The space between Revan's hands and the incoming energy spear became distorted, and as the spear intered the distorted area it began to spiral into Revan's cupped hands. Revan held the sphere of energy and sent it back with his power.

The lance of energy struck the being in the chest, his armor drained of its color, and he was thrown against a tree.... as all this transpired Revan blacked out...

Ok guys heres a little explanation for you,

---

... they all halted in a clearing in front of a bulky, golden armor....."Heretics know that I, Lord Xaries Commander of the Excecutionary Force of this world, will end your miserable lifes,"The Gold One boomed. three other beings-solders?- flanked their commander. They weiding weopons in their hands that Revan had never seen. The solders raised their weopons and the one of the Revan-like beings was torn apart by what looked like flashes of light to Revan. The other two leapt over the solders and blasted them with a series of telekentic waves, knocking the weapons out of their armored guantlets..... The battle froze and Revan saw a creature that looks like a flame atronach, but the flame was more of an aura and it was a luminesent ash-gray and there was nothing wearing the armor so it was suspended inside the flame, like it was posessed. It's mask helm served as a face and two white bars of light served as it's eyes. It walked past the frozen combatents toward him, and spoke in a womans voice,"You're no doubt confused about the beings you see in your armor and the beings that attack them,"It-she- said. Revan only nodded, mistified by the creature.

Revan could read her body-language and her 'eyes' also expressed her emotions of sadness,"These beings in armor like yours are the Dark Naryyn and your ansestors," The.... Spirit told him.

"They, and you, are not of this world, your kind came here, before the native civillized races appeared,to escape your brethren the High Naryyn," The Spirit gestured toward the gold figures and to a deep breath.

"The Naryyn were once united as one peaple, until a minority began to believe in another way of interpreting the energy that runs through all of your kinsmen's viens."

"But this was ideology was met with uproar and branded heresy, and so your race was engulfed in civil war and from that war........," She paused," emerged two races from one, The original practictioners called the 'High' Naryyn, and the heretic 'Dark' Naryyn.

"The High Naryyn cast their former brothers, down and exiled them, but as you can see some of your brothers have been hunted down."

Revan was overwelmed by this revelation, but he had to ask something of this spirit. "How come I look like the Dunmer if I am what you say?"

The Spirit answered,"When the war ended the the two sides were changed by the use of they're power in war, and your ansestores became dark-skined, and red-eyed."

"The Dunmer were cursed by their goddess Azura in the second era and now they look like you," She explained.

"If you look at the warrior you killed you'll see they were changed too and now we must part ways, but we will meet again young one."

and as she finished speaking a haze slowly blocked out the vision.....

Slowly Revan could see the forest of Valenwood again with his own eyes. He got up and tested his leg to find it had been healed magically. Probably the spirit mended it. he thought. And then he saw the body......

Posted by: jack cloudy Jul 13 2006, 08:33 AM

Interesting. Very interesting. And now I want to see that body. smile.gif

Posted by: Lord Revan Jul 13 2006, 07:22 PM

ok Jack you asked for it and you got it

---

Revan came closer to the body, the chest area had been blown apart, the armor had lost it's glorious gold coloring. He took the helmet off the solder, to reveal an Altmer-like face, but the solder's ears(like Revan's) were that of humans.

Revan left the corpse there to let it rot, and walked toward a an odd presence, and found a giant tree (it wasn't just tall it was twenty-feet wide). As he circled around it he found a large piece of bark looked like it could be pushed back. Suddenly Revan heard voices approaching and scaled up the tree to the nearest branch,as he looked down he saw two more solders approach the piece of bark and enter the tree. He jumped down and entered the new gap in the tree.

The tree was devoid of illumination, but Revan was unhindered because he could see in the dark without a potion or a spell. As he countinued, Revan bent the light around him to make him invisible, he saw the solders go about their duties oblivious to the mirage-like shape in their midst.

five minutes and two levels later.......

Revan soon saw runes written on the walls and stopped to read some......... and after we were exiled we traved from planet to planet for millenia and eventually settled here. For a sort time we prospered, but 500 years after we landed we were at war with one another, many factions were patronized by a group of creatures called Deadra... Revan stopped to feel the irony of it all. that was why the deadra spared me He thought.

As he moved on he came to a small room with no floor, only a platform with a pedestle. Revan walked up to it and saw an object suspended in the shaft of light that that bathed the pedestle. The object were what looked like two small double-edged hilts carved from the tree above. He reached into the light and took the hilts, and they attached to his backpack that was made of the same alloy as his armor. As Revan turned he saw a large man-sized crystal that looked similar to the welkyd stones of the Aylieds. Revan inspected the crystal and as his hand touched it, the jem chanced from dim cerulean to bright red, and the whole room was illuminated by the runes on the walls.

And then he heard the armored boots behind him, and turned to see Lord Xaries in the doorway.

Revan part 1/ chapter 6: Revelation

Xaries looked at the crystal, the glowing runes, and finally Revan. A grin appeared on his face,"I must thank you for activating the crystal, our scholars have had a difficult time with that relic." Revan realized, that the High Naryyn must have been studying this ruin.
"We could have use for you...", His voice trailed off.
"And what would that be?"
"You could help our archeologists search this shrine, and get reprieve in return."
Revan wieghed his options, he could fight with a small chance of sucess, or help these beings and escape later..... "Not all High Naryyn believe your kind are heretics, trust him." The disembodied voice of the spirit advised.
Revan decided he could trust the spirit....... and the spirit trusted Lord Xaries.

"Alright Xaries you have a deal," he said. Xaries appeared pleased with this and had Revan escorted to a cell area.

some time later.....

The door opened and a young High Naryyn in robes entered,"My name is Xarkum, I'm the head scholar in this shrine." "I'm Revan." Xarkum nodded,"Lord Xaries has told me that you wish to help us unlock the secrets of this shrine." "He's treated me differently then the rest of my kind," Revan muttered. "Sevro-brother- Revan, not all of us hate your race, Lord Xaries is often(and unjustly) critisized for his leniancy toward your people. He and I have lost much because we lack the severity that the council encourages, the only reason he has progressed so far is because of his skill, and popularity among his subordinates. Many of our troops are a part of the executionary force because they have families to support." Revan realized that he could understand, even sympathize, for their moral conflict.

They both walked down the corridor side-by-side, for they had began to form a brotherly bond, both took turns talking about their early lives growing up (this was the first time for Revan to share his past with another being). Soon they entered a huge chamber and Revan began to translate the runes for Xarkum and his fellow scholars.

After several hours............

Revan and Xarkum were heading to the meeting area before parting ways. From the chamber someone was screaming at the top of their lungs,"You allowed the vermin to WHAT!!!" They both stopped at the entryway to listen,"Calm yourself holy one, the council authorized that the scholars any means to acomplish their studies of th-." "The council made it absolutly CLEAR THAT STUDYING THE INFEDEL'S RELICS WAS A SECONDARY OBJECTIVE!!!" Revan caught a glimpse of the 'holy one' as Xarkum realized who the being was,"That is Norik, a 'Qesna Troc Jy Narqay'-Holy Hand of the Council their importance and authority is only surpassed by the councilers themselves. "Lord Xaries, you were [i]ordered to EXTERMINATE any infidels on sight, not take them alive for the sake of a few note-scribling scholars, I could have you executed for TREASON!!!" "I'll have your head for this HERECY!!!" As the holy one stormed out into the hallway, the holy one and Revan's eyes met through his helmet visor.......

This time I see things going less nicely, unlike the meeting between Revan and Xaries. Hopefully not too many limbs are lost...

Revan part 1/ chapter 7: Family Tensions

Norik was a tall, and stately High Naryyn. The gold armor he wore was mostly for display, the pauldrons extended two feet past his shoulders, it looked impractical for melee combat. An exquisite red and gold garment appeared at his waist and ended a few inches below his knees.

But what caught Revan's attention most were the gold clad beings that flanked Norik. They were both large, probably eight feet tall, and their staffs, each two meters tip to tip and at three cintemeters thick, were thicker and longer then his. Their armor completely covered their bodies and looked like it was heavier than anything a Tamrielic armorer would dare make armor, but the bodygaurds moved as though it was as light as cloth. Both of the guards turned and followed Norik without looking back once, they must be strictly disiplined, Revan thought they weren't have as stressed as Norik about him.

Revan turned around to talk to Xarkum who had paled enough for it to appear on his sunlight gold skin."What were those two being following Norik?"

"Honor Guards, there are said to be only fifty in existence, they serve only the councilers and 'Qesna Troc Jy Narqay'."

"Have any been killed?"

"It's said that a pair's master passed away, of natural causes, and fought for entertainment in an arena; they killed several hundred challengers before an unknown character fought and killed them in an epic battle, but he died only moments later from his fatigue and great wounds. They are many times used by their masters to do his dirty work if nessesary, it is said that they can find any prey in a months time."

Revan nodded realizing the situation became more complicated by these creatures, not their master, he might 'might' escape the High Naryyn, but he couldn't hide from the honor guards. Several High Naryyn exiting the council chamber gave Revan and Xarkum only a passing glance, but a few stopped to look Revan over.

Lord Xaries was the last to exit and it appeared that Norik's screaming sessions were taxing him in mind and body. "You two should avoid Norik if at all possible, we don't need to provoke him into something rash." Xaries whispered before walking away.

Revan cound feel Xarkums great anxiety and decided to ask about it. "Sevro, what do you have to do with the 'Qesna Troc Jy Narqay' that your not telling me?"

Xarkum flinched as he realized Revan had felt his unease and guessed the rest,"Sevro I feel nervous around Norik, because............. because I'm his son."

Revan was speechless for several moments, but pulled himself together,"Is there something between xaries and Norik also?"

By now Xarkum had gained some of his composure,"They dislike each other because they were once brothers."

Ok here's another update everyone, this is the second last chapter for part 1 of Revan's story.

----

Revan part 1/chapter 7 (cont.)

in Revan's quarters........

Xarkum bade Revan farewell and thanked him for his trust and aid in their research. Revan watched him leave and felt an odd sence of regret, he knew that he had worn out his welcome. Regardless of his friendship with Xarkum, he needed to escape by tomarrow night, and he worse he didn't have a plan on how.

He layed inside of the indent of the wall that served as a 'bed', and for a long time he lay there sifting through the details of his ordeal. Suddenly Revan felt an unfamiliar presence before another 'flame atronach' thing appeared in the doorway, but this one was a male-like specimen and its flame was gold like the High Narryian armor (the armor was also different, more bulky).

"Lord Xaries, my master, wishes to hold confrence with you," It (well he) murmered in a deep voice, gestured to follow. Revan didn't see any reason to not listen to it, and strode after him. It lead Revan to the confrence room, and Xarkum, his uncle, (to Revan's displeasure) Norik, and several other High Naryyn (mostly warriors) were in attendence.

Revan approached Xaries, Norik, and Xarkum who were in the podium in the center of the chamber; both turned and spotted him. "Good that you've arrived, we've been discussing your situation and," Xaries indicated Norik beside him," it has been decided that an 'honor duel' will take place to help resolve the dispute." Revan noticed distractedly that Norik was giving him a look of digust looking of disgust, and that Xarkum was again accomplishing the difficult task of causing paleness appear on his golden complexion. Revan didn't need to ask what an 'honor duel' emplied, he had a good guess. Lord Xaries seemed to mirror his lack of enthusiasm, while Xaries' brother appeared to be looking forward to the duel,"You will fight Norik's honor guards." Then Norik yelled what Revan wished he wasn't to say,"and it will be a fight to the death!"

The crowd appeared to have conflicting views on the verdict, but they all shuddered as the to shiny-gold guardians entered the large arena-like chamber. The guards themselves didn't display any anticipation or reluctance as they chittered to each other in some odd tongue, the 'arena' chamber was cavernous but it was well lit. As Revan stode into the stadium he saw the three beings in the 'leader' box of the stands, Xaries was the liegelord of the High Naryyian warriors, Norik was the representative of the council, and Xarkum was the lead scholar.

A person rose from the crowd an spoke as the announcer, but his voice was not audible to the three armored combatants, particularly to the Dark Naryyn that the entire crowd believed was doomed, condemmed to death for past crimes that he nor his ancestors truly commited.

Revan was tense as he watched the twin honor guards approach in a most coordinated fashion, one on the left, one on the right, bothe spreading out killer staffs at the ready. As they closed in he felt the warm caress of the spirit banish his self doubt,"The artifacts you found on the pedestle were made for such adverseries, use their great power to fight back!" the spirit counseled him. He slowly reached for the two hilts and his power (not magic, not this time) flowed from his hands to the duel wooden hilts. Revan heard the miracle before he opened his eyes and saw it himself; the hilts had projected his energy and shaped it as the blade edges of two wakisashis.

The crowd gasped and the two armor-clad enforcers halted and hissed at the appearence of these glowing energy swords. Revan was also surprised not by the blades themselves but his new hieghtened perception of the immediate area around him. He felt the agitation of the honor guards, and the outrage of their master; he felt the surprise of Xarkum and the other non-veteren warriors, but he felt the surprise and recognition of Lord Xaries, the veterens among the solders, and the honor guards. The blades were still as light as the had been originally; they were so light that the concern of balance didn't even apply. Revan and the honor guards knew that the fight had turned from being hopeless to just being difficult.

Revan part 1/ Finale cool.gif

........dark it becomes......... only hope.......... fellowship of shadow...... warders of twilight....... silent witness....... heralds of past teachings and kindlers of future destinies...... upon them we rest our hope,...... our lives,...... our faith,........... we are irrelevant, our guardians are those whom we must safeguard........ only the unification of light and dark, brother and sister,........ matriarch and patriarch,..... from her womb shall the seed of prophecy be born to save the last.........

Desecrated exert of the herald prophesy, written (a century after the great exile) by the wise seers.
The tome describes the end of all intelligent beings, and the 'herald' born from the pairing of a High Naryyn patriarch (only males take positions in the council) and a Dark Naryyn matriarch (unlike their bretheren, the Dark Naryyn revere their wise matrons who are chosen because of practical reasons as well as lineage).

Still the Dark Naryyn find it unlikely that any of their brothers would willingly spawn a Naryyn of joined blood, and certainly not a with a 'fallen one'.

An honor guard glanced at his partner for a moment uncertain, the other nodded at his companion. Both the creatures burst forward faster than any being could hope to move. Behind his faceplate, Revan felt surprisingly calm and focused; not fearful or anxious. He simply stood and watched as the two lethal reptilian monsters crossed a gap of three meters in an eyeblink.
The first guard-called Surrush by his bond brother- swung several spine-shattering swipes at the motionless prey -pity really, only once had any of Surrush's fellows been bested, and certainly this humanoid (whom his master often condemmed the fallen kind to death) couldn't best he and his brother alone. But Revan had other ideas. He bent over backward to avoid the first horizontal strike and blocked both of the guards' coordinated attacks with simultaneous use of his two blades. He had given so much ground he was almost against the wall, time to switch tactics, he thought. Revan stepped forward to avoid a guillotine chop, past the guard's staff effective range, before vaulting five meters and into one of the small passageways located in the walls.

He cast a glance back at the arena. Both Guards were simply standing side-by-side, staffs held at ease. Tthey must be intelligent to realize they can't pursue me this way, Revan had to give them credit. They were even ignoring the undignified screaming of Norik to hunt him down. They're smarter than Norik, he thought.

Revan exited the duct into a familiar hallway, If I continue right I'll reach the entrance before anyone catches on. But it turned out that the fanatical junior warriors weren't as smart as the guards and Revan had little chioce other than to slaughter them. A young male loosed an axe swing, but Revan stepped back and then forward in the same movement and neatly sliced off the boy's arms with one sword and impaled him with the other. Revan spun and decapitated another lad, and blasted three more into the ancient slabs with so much force their armor buckled. He rushed into the entrance hall, slicing the occupants in several flowing, dance-like motions without breaking stride. At the doorway he paused and looked back at the corpses: hands, legs, heads, and all were scorched by the disentegrating edge of his inhereted gifts....... but those weren't what filled him with remorse for their lost lives. It was the fact that all the dead were......... only fifty years old, that was not the age of acceptable death for their species....... with great sorrow he sprinted into the daylight.

three hours later...............

Revan was relieved to see the rolling planes of the West Weald again. He'd managed to escape the High Naryyn, and right now that was all that mattered to him. But as always, heedless of his condition the voice of the Daedric Princess Azura beckoned him.

"Mortal, you have pleased my sisters and myself by completing the extermination of the Vampiric clan Kruskac and the nomadic werewolfs. My sister Mephala and I wish for you to kill the
Arch-mage of the Mages Guild in the Arcane University, but you must make his death appear to be of natural causes and to leave a will for Hannibal Traven to take his place as the Arch-Mage. Do this and you will be greatly rewarded."

Revan part 1/ finale

Revan clenched his fists and let out an exasperated sigh of frustration. Deadra never care if I'm not in the mood do they? Still he suposed he would need that reward later on, so will and poison collected, he was off to the Imperial City-Capital of Cyrodiil and the empire.

Imperial City gates......

Revan strode down the great bridge of the city, he had to admit that the Imperial City was as majestic on the outside as it was rumured to be. White Gold Tower/ the Imperial Palace was visible from miles around due to its height, the Arcane University was bursting with raw magical energy, a true monument to the study of magical knowledge. But he was about to change life for more than one magister in not just Cyrodiil.

It was 11:35 and shadows were everywhere and Revan exploited his ability to merge with them. He studied a pair of battlemages conversed with one another. Revan had ten darts in hand, each poisoned with enough 'drain/damage fatigue' to knock them out until morning, and releashed them. The swarm of darts scratched and nicked the guards enough for their powers to take effect but without much visible damage. Both battlemages went down without any audible disturbence, and thegroup of thrown items returned to the assailent's hands.

Revan pocketed the missles and jogged into the bastion shrouded from sight and honed silence of an expert assassin. The lobby contained two benches, a shelf topped with crystal balls, alembics and other magical doodads, and the unsuspicious glowing teleportation pad on the floor. He stood on the pedaste and felt a moment of vertigo and a lack of directional bearing as a purple flash filled his view. When he appeared, he saw a circular table and a few display cases, and yet another teleporter. Holding back his impatience he activated and felt the same vertigo sensation as before.

This time he arrived in the Arch-Magister's bedroom, the room was full of personal luxuries expected of a mage: a series of alchemical devices, a bookcase full of manuals, and a chest full of potions, ingrediants, and soul gems of the highest quality. And then there was the Arch-Mage himself, he was brewing a cup of herbal tea, Revan knew that was how to he would kill the old scroll-scribler. Revan cursed the elderly man with a loss of intelligence and willpower, the lapse of attention allowed the killer to administer the poison to the cup of tea without the mage realizing it. The condemmed man shook his haed and shakely drank the beverage and the lethal contents as well. The affect was immediate, the mark suddenly began to convulse and choke, the elf fell onto the floor death by a simple science called alchemy.

Revan tossed the 'will' on the desk and departed, the deed had been done the rest was mere detail. Instead of fleeing the university he scaled up the tower in the center of the grounds; Revan looked up at the great moon at its peak and heard the voice of Azura.

"Congradulations envoy, your work has set in motion events that will change the face of Tamriel. You no doubt wish for the reward that you were promised." Here it comes, He thought. Suddenly he heard a hissing sound and realized in shock that his staff was disentigrating. Revan opened his pack to discover that all of the artifacts he had worked so hard to gain over a century ago were turning to dust. "You have gained the a great reward for the price of your loyalty and some useless trinkets, Azura and Mephala's voices chorused. "You are no longer endentured to our will and so you have earned your freedom!" As the two divine's presences in Revan knew that their 'reward' was not as priceless as they said, they were tossing him aside like a spent scroll........

dawn.......

Revan watched the sunrise from the summit of the Arcane University the sun's appearence didn't bring any relief, he hadn't moved for hours. He had no purpose to live for, he didn't know what do. All he still had was his armor, his thrown weapons,........ and his swords! He still had his heritage, the High Naryyn were still out there and if any of his people were still alive he had to find them, that was his new calling. Revan picked himself up blades in hand and looked over the horizon, this wasn't over, not by a long shot.

Revan part 2
A new purpose

An excellent conclusion to a beginning of a very solid fic. It'll be interesting to see how Revan finds his fellow bretheren.
