So I spent the last 20 minutes setting my dinner table, it looks nice, ready for use. I then try to sit down...

CLING! CLANG! SMASH! CRUNCH!

That sound you heard was my silverware being converted into bullets, knocking half my decor into the corners and under my bed, and finally glitching through the walls and disappearing. Why do I even bother? Why does every effort I make to have my home look pretty have to be ruined when I brush my little finger across that knife handle? Do I have to TCL every time I want to sit down at my table to have a bite to eat in an immersive manner?

Sometimes, I really wish Morrowind's physics-less decoration could come back.... closedeyes.gif

At first I thought you were talking about your real dinner table...

Well, now you see why they call the physics Havok!

Yes, and why I write Maxical as clumsy. She can't walk through a room without stuff falling off shelves around her or flying off tables.

If you ever do the duplication glitch using arrows enchanted with fire - now there is some havoc !!!! They bounce around so much that it takes literally minutes for the air to clear - I have found them all over the Skingrad house, even on the second floor and several rooms away. (I always duplicate in the dining room/pantry area because that is where my scrolls are kept).

You may find sets of arrows in another city if you do that outside, lol.

LOL. I thing one of the mods I have fixes the duplication glitches much to my disappointment.

But yeah, my characters don't spend much time inside partially because I don't want my homes to get messed up. I once made one of my homes all pretty (Books on the shelves, weapons propped against the wall, ect.) it was fantastic for a while. Then I didn't save for a while, walked inside and accidentally hit the cast spell key on my controller. The spell I had loaded was called "house wrecker" and wrecked the whole house it did. I don't remember what happened but I didn't have an auto save either. After that I never bothered spending much time in a house.

"House Wrecker" mod ??? ... BWAAHAA !!! I think there are two NPC's in the game that get all tore up if you mess up their house, one is in Shivering Isles - is the other in Bravil? When I am completely finished with a game I usually break into everyone's house and pull pranks, that would be a great mod to have for me, lol.

Not a mod, just an AOE fire spell 1 pt damage in 100 feet. knocks everything off of the tables, and shelves, and makes a huge mess. I use it on NPCs' homes I don't like.

Aye, the downside of Havoc physics wink.gif

I always make sure to save often in my game, but even more so when I decorate a house. Especially if it involves books on shelves. Whenever a book is up correctly I make a save and before the next is positioned correctly I could have made as much as five other saves because the book gives me a lot of trouble along the way but suddenly goes halfway where I want it to be.

Literally hours can be spend on this! laugh.gif

There is a mod for Oblivion that makes shelves/books, etc a snap to fill/set up - I'll see if I can scan my external hard drive for it and send you a copy, I don't believe it is on Nexus anymore.

I hear ya. We take long periods of time to carefully decorate things, saving frequently as we do so. Dining tables are particularly problematic as when you sit down, that often results in an explosion of flatware, food, plates, etc. laugh.gif In response to that, we generally stick with 'pre-decorated' tables. When Buffy sits at a table in one of the MG guild halls or a tavern and experiences a 'table explosion', we just chuckle, knowing that all will reset if left on its own for three days.

Fortunately, the only 'house' Buffy owns is her wonderful apartment at the Arcane University. When dear KC made that mod for her, he wisely and fully 'decorated' the dining table. That way, it will happily reset itself (after three days) in the event of a mishap. smile.gif

Thanks mALX, but I donīt decorate anymore as Lothranīs houses are the way they should smile.gif

Acadian - Before sitting down, Lothran often makes a magical gesture over the items on the table to make them bounce up gently instead of explode violently tongue.gif
