This one is definitely better then my first one, and I wish I entered this one instead of "The Tale Of The Khajiit". Here it goes, I WANT critizism PLEASE! Whether it is negative or postivive feedback!

Edit 1: Indents are gone! I have figure out where I had them..
Edit 2: Tab and space will not work.
Edit 3: Added Chapter Markers

The Coyoteman

Chapter 1

Vorlic gazed at the ceiling above his terrified mind, he was afraid the siege on this town would soon end with failure. The mysterious “wolfmen” came from the western forest, completely surrounding the rectangular shaped town called Vexalido. The town was safe for now; it was protected by a massive gray stone wall, more then sixty feet in height at the shortest parts. Along the wall towers were placed in equal distance to each other so each corner had one, making twelve towers total. These massive gray-white towers reached for the sky with open tops, letting skilled archers rain hell from above. But besides the magnificent barriers that protected the city, stood the town itself. The town buildings were made of strong wood that was lumbered from neighboring forests and stone from the local mines. This town had over forty houses that were two stories in height with many shops and various other businesses that kept the town running. But inside Vexalido was not what was worrying the young warrior Vorlic, it was the outside hell waiting to barge through like a blight storm. Countless “wolfmen” were standing outside the walls, which appeared to be as tall as a Nord but covered in thick fur and having a wolf head. These wolfmen continued to snarl hate and growl blood thirsty cries as they patrolled around the city like an orderly army. Each wolfman marched around already equipped in a strange dark gray chain mail suit and bright orange tunics. Beneath these suits, their sharp claws on their paws could be seen with the think gray fur. They also had their weapons in hand, whether that would be a shiny sword or a smooth wooden pike. Vorlic had already seen this bizarre sight, but he also saw them during the night when the green eyes of the wolfmen pierced through the darkness, directly into his heart shattering any faith in the gods. But for now, he would rest in his bed found in the barracks until the time came for him to stand upon the walls again. If he was needed before that time, the town’s church bell would sound three times.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 2

Vorlic fell asleep as he tried to predict what would happen, whether they would win with their lives or die horribly with claws through their throats. He continued to dream of a wolfman barging into his room and crushing his head against the stone floor like a redware glass. Vorlic was almost certain the wolfmen were telepathic and sending these pictures to frighten him to death but reconsidered when no one else reported dreams like this. As time drew on, something seemed to be ringing in the distance when made him wake up from his slumber. At first Vorlic truly thought it was the church bell, but no one seemed to be rushing out of the barracks or even concerned about it. Vorlic wanted to make sure, so he slipped into his red shirt and blue pants, equipped himself with his imperial chain suit and picked up his sword and sheathe. As he walked outside into the streets, he saw nothing unusual except the vacant streets. He continued to the nearest tower, up the narrow stairs and onto the wall where dozens of soldiers were standing, looking onward into darkness. Vorlic decided to stay on the wall, but he was not sure it was such a grand idea after it began to rain from the black sky above. His brown hair became soaked underneath his new chain mail coif, and his tunic of green and silver became drenched. Sprinkles of rain danced on the stone around him while the rest bombarded the roofs to Vorlic’s right. Vorlic was almost ready to rush back into the tower, but something gave him the impulse to look over the wall and see the mad things below. As his head slowly peered over, all he could see was one wolfman staring straight at him, making gestures of his death and using his furry hand to whirl his spear around. Before Vorlic could realize it, the wolfman let go of his spear and it hit the face of the guard closest to Vorlic in the neck. This sudden attack sent Vorlic stumbling back against the tower wall while the corpse of the guard fell backwards on the wall. The soldier’s sword clanged against the wall and bounced off onto the roof of a house below, which made everyone look at the cadaver. While it was lying on the stone, it bled into a pool of blood which dripped into the cracks beneath it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 3 ***

Vorlic was stunned, terrified and bewildered by the accuracy of that throw. But he was not for long, in an instant a ladder clanged against the wall in the distance. Then another and another and soon the church bell rang with a sudden fury. Dozens of wolfmen troops raced up the ladders and began battling the imperial guards, while Vorlic rushed to the nearest ladder. As he sprinted towards the rough wooden ladder, a wolfman emerged from it and pounced on a nearby guard. It swung its paw against his face and smashed it in, then kicked it to the side and rushed into the opposite direction of Vorlic. More wolfmen began coming from the ladder, as Vorlic now ran the opposite way hoping he was not seen. But two wolfmen were chasing him while their orange tunics swayed from the speed. One pounced on Vorlic’s back and threw him forward against the tower wall. Vorlic heard the crack of his bones and his sword clatter away from his hand, blood dripped out of his speechless mouth. The second wolfman now picked him up and flung him over the wall into the outside of the town. As Vorlic soared through the air, his coif flew off and he splashed into the mud with such a great impact, it knocked him unconscious.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 4 ***

Vorlic awoke several hours later, in some sort of cave. He was in a large pen, made out of wood poles with spikes on the top and a large steel gate on the one side. From what he could see through the fence was nothing but gray, watery cave in every direction. In the other corner of the pen, lay an innocent little wolf pup, curled up in a ball still sleeping. Its fur bristled as it breathed in and out and it yelped as it dreamt of chasing rabbits. Vorlic examined himself and found none of his bones to be broken from either of his two impacts, which was a miracle in his mind. But he has been stripped of his weapons; the dagger he kept in his boot was gone. His chain armor was shattered all around his torso and shoulders , his coif was missing and his left boot heel was cracked. His tunic, which Vorlic had adored and prized, had vanished right off of his shoulders. His gloves were in perfect condition, but his under clothes which included an extravagant red shirt and blue pants, were stained with mud, blood and grass. Vorlic's face was covered in soil and right across his forehead was a long red slash from the wolfman when it grabbed him. So Vorlic tried to imagine how he came to be in this pen, but was even more concerned that the wolf pup was in the other corner. Was he supposed to be a meal? Was Vorlic about to become a training dummy for a wolf learning how to hunt? If that would be the case, the wolf pup would fail as it soon got up and laid next to Vorlic, licking his arm. Vorlic scratched its head, wondering if it was the offspring of one of those peculiar wolfmen but was not worried for now. Vorlic soon fell asleep with the little lump of warmth next to him, Vorlic prayed in his mind he would wake up and still be alive.

Vorlic awoke with the wolf pup what seemed to be one hour later, when a strange looking wolfman entered the pen and stood before him. Instead of gray, this wolfman had a light brown coat of fur. He had dark brown fur on the top of his head, next to his perked ears and a queer white fur belly. Vorlic sat in complete terror, until the beast began to speak to him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 5

“You, Vorlic, will have one chance of survival in this pen. You must kill the wolf pup inside or you will starve to death with it, your decision will determine whether your city will be spared.” The coyote-ish man stated in a raspy deep voice. The coyoteman left the pen, and threw Vorlic’s dagger in the pen while he walked away into the darkness of the cave. Vorlic was confused and flabbergasted at what the coyoteman said, this wolf pup had done nothing to him but lick his hand with its warm tongue. The pup looked at Vorlic like it knew what the coyoteman said, got up and walked to the dagger. Foolishly, the pup took the dagger in the mouth and gave it to Vorlic like it wanted to die to let him live. Vorlic took the slobber-covered dagger and one hand, and raised it to strike the pup while it sat it front of him, wagging his gray tail. Vorlic told his arm to strike the pup, but it disobeyed and only hung in the air like a wild marshmerrow plant. He could not do the deed put against him, the pup had done nothing to him and he would not do anything to it. Vorlic sheathed his dagger in his boot, and sat for what seemed like days in that wretched wooden pen. On the sixth day with no food or water, Vorlic awoke on a horse heading through the gates of Vexalido. He was being escorted by two dozen wolfmen, and he could see the brown tail of the coyoteman at the front. It appeared to be in the very early morning before the sun rose. What he saw was astounding, bodies of guards laid everywhere while the ones that survived were tied together where they surrendered. Two wolfmen guarded each captive, while the rest searched the whole town for others. From what Vorlic could see, perched upon his horse, was bodies after bodies and captives after captives. As the parade of horses came closer to the middle of town, Vorlic could see the body of the guard he orignally saw slain still laid on the wall. Vorlic was terrified at the number dead, he saw at least twelve sights where buildings had burned down. The church had been completely destroyed, the bell that stood so high before now laid in pounds of ashes and stone. Every now and then, a corpse would be seen lying motionless in a pool of coagulated blood. While Vorlic's mind wandered around his beloved town, he finally noticed his little escort had come to an abrupt halt.Vorlic was forcefully taken down from his horse, to be confronted by the wolf pup and the coyoteman. The pup ran about in excitement as the coyoteman began to speak once more.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter 6

“You have spared a creature that should have been spared, but why do you not do this deed to everything? Your kind destroys the forest without repair, your kind kills the wolves for no reason, your kind eats animals without ever honoring their sacrifices, your kind takes precious stone without ever being thankful. You humanoid races are greedy, self-centered and are on a course of a doomed existence. We have no existence, but to warn you of treachery to come from your own mistakes. This town, Vexalido, shall be spared but those who died should remain as a warning of what would happen if you continue the vile lives you all possess. It will only be spared because the glimmer of a better future was seen through you, Vorlic, when you spared the wolf pup because it was just and honorable. Do this for every aspect of your lives and the doomed existence of which we tell of will never exist. Go and tell all of your kind of what you have learned to of this day or wolfmen shall appear again.” The coyoteman declared in a harsh, raspy and deep voice. As he began to walk away, Vorlic stood there bewildered by what he just heard. The pup trailed behind the horses that were now leaving with wolfmen riders, while the rest of the wolfmen cut every captive free. Vorlic walked along the street, unsure of what to do or how to preach what the coyoteman said. But he was sure he would start here so he began to walk in the street as the sun rose behind him, giving all that looked upon him an image of importance. Soon, the wolf pup changed course and ran to Vorlic, wanting to please him as some distant instinct he was born with. Together they would travel, battle and preach what they had learned, but Vorlic would always ask why it had to be learned in such a hard way. Why? Because that is only one tenth of the chaos that would have been created if Tamriel continues its epic doom. Next time, it will not be the mythical wolfmen or the mercy of the coyoteman, but Tamriel's execution will be done by it's own inhabitants and people of the Empire.
