Rann and Syke, Warehouse

"I'm sure you understand, but I can't do that." Rann replied calmly. "If you don't pay us, we can't pay your provider, which makes us get into quite a bit of trouble."

Rann knew how the system worked; the reciever paid both the deliverers and the suppliers; if the deliverers didn't collect, they had to pick up the tab. This one would be near impossible for Rann and Syke to pay; they couldn't afford to be ripped off right now.

Rann and Syke, Warehouse on Mars

"That wasn't so hard, was it?" he asked, holstering his pistol.

Syke put his handheld away; the information seemed legitimate enough. "Sorry about my brother here; he's a little energetic."

"Let's go, Rann." Syke said, picking up another taxi, where they went to a store to buy a blowtorch' they needed some kind of cover-up story to feed Satyana...

They went back to their ship and were soon flying back home...

OOC: now I really gotta go.

Norton, Near research station

he kept circling the station, in the arrow. It was a huge ship, it had a huge laser cannon stolen from the rykar on it, and was made of solid titanium, making it the strongest and biggest ship on the fleet. There were over seven hundred people working on the arrow, and over ten thousand people in the entire fleet "i repeat research station are you getting this signal?"

Kiva, The Space station 'Wolf's Den', Between Earth and Mars

Kiva panting, bringing his blade up to block the strike of his sparring partner. His partner was named 'Tinman' by the other inhabitants of the station, with good reason. Tinman was heavily augemented with cybernetics, becuase he wanted them, not out of need. Needlessly to say, Tinman made a hard opponent, he thought faster, moved faster and was stronger than Kiva, Kiva however, was better at using Rithum blades.

Still, he was learning. Kiva would have to step up his training a notch sooner or later, he reflected as he parried a strike that would have knocked his blade from his hands if he had blocked it, and ducked under Tinman's Golden rithum blade, one made up ornately and designed like a saber or cutlass. Kiva swung the blade struck Tinman's chest. Both fighters wore black suits with thick metal plating for these exercises, and when struck the plate inflicted pain and made the area of the body struck unuseable.

Thus Tinman fell back, his movements hampered by the stomach 'wound', before letting out a mechanized roar and thrusting his blade unexpectedly, and Kiva felt a surge of pain as he left arm went limp. Tinman had overextended himself however and his weight took him to the floor, it was a simple matter of taking the blade down on Tinman's neck and the match ended, and both regained the functions of their bodies and limbs.

"Good match Tinman, seeya later," Kiva said as he headed out panting. Tinman grunted a aknowledgement between gasps of air remiscent of the breathing of a certain cybernetic black clad bad guy from old movies Kiva used to watch. Darth something. Had a cool red laser-sword. Kiva changed into his usual clothing and headed off to his ship, the Edge, which was berthed in Wolf's Den's hanger. The arrow-head shaped ship was sitting on the deck, in pristine condition. Kiva grinned and opened the cockpit and hopped inside, next to the pilot's seat were his guns; his Pistol and rifles.

"Now, where to go to kill some time, maybe some aliens too..." he muttered as the cockpit closed, sealing with a soft hiss.

Kratos
Io, Moon of Jupiter - TAG First Ecounter Defense Quarters - Training Quarters 34-WR

Kratos settled the butt of the latest experimental rifle against his shoulder. He took aim at the target and fired. The recoil was huge, tossing him back a few feet despite his cybernetic leg. "Bloody hell!" he exclaimed, regaining his feet. He called over the attendant techie. "Hey techie! Take this one back to the lab. No way in hell can anyone possibly use that on a battlefield the way it is now". As he spoke, he tossed the rifle towards the young man, who fumbled but managed to catch it before it hit the ground. As he left the Firing range, he wondered what Veda was up to. He went down a couple of doors and entered the room. "Hey, Veda!" he called to his friend

Wes Hansek
Asteroid Belt, outskirts of Ganymede trading route

"Okay," Wes said as they flew agily in upon the oblivious cog, stalking it behind the very asteroids. "Send down a TF, we'll shut him down."

"There's probably less in his ship than a TF is worth," His comm. said back.

"Keep your hamster cave eyes on the ball and focus, that's an order!" he yelled. A TF missile sailed around the asteroids and stuck the cog right in the thrusters.

"Now give off a couple EDs!" he yelled as the Cog suddenly pumped off a booster, trying to brink off the side of an asteroid. Two twin EDs came forward and followed the Cog around as it dodged through the various asteroids. One of the EDs strucked into the side, and blew, electric looking surges bumped off. It wasn't armed, so they had no effect. The second ED stayed to course, coming in closer.

"Arm it!" Wes screamed. Right before it was about to hit the Cog set off a second boost, but the explosion behind the thruster caused the thrusters to fail.

"Well the ED blew out our TF," his comm. said.

"Keep an eye out, I'm coming down," Wes said and jumped into the elevator carrying his coat. He threw it on and entered the control-room. "Okay last I saw it was behind that Asteroid up there. We blew out its thrusters so don't worry about another boost. They won't keep going at that pace either, they were off route and they'll have no working fuel. They'll be working purely off inertia they can get from rock-bouncing. We have to find it before the distress signal comes through and the Police get here."

They flew slowly through a large collection of asteroids. Any unnatural movement in just one would be enough to give off a trading cog. They just had to be thorough.

"There," Wes said, pointing up into one that had just barely changed course. The Peregrine Warrior jutted up nimbly and caught the cog trying to land on the Asteroid.

"Lock us!" he grinned. The set off a final ED which shut down the ship completely. After they locked gates he entered with two crew members wearing space-suits.

"Set off the decompression," he ordered, and one of them out in the code, seconds later the doors opened and they entered the Cog.

"You," Wes said as he entered the enemy Bridge, pointing at the one that looked like the Captain, "What are your supplies?"

"Just Aluminum," the Captain offered. Wes ordered one of his men to check the storage.

"Aluminum aye? Why deliver today, Ganymede's closed because of the big shipments yesterday. Aluminum won't be transported for atleast five days once they sort through ths scraps. Want to change your answer?"

The Captain looked dumbstruck.

"That's right, Chev, what they got?"

"Looking like some weird refrigerated room," Chev answered.

"Lemme see that," Wes said and looked at the storage compartment himself. "Aha!" he exclaimed. "Jack pot. Chev go back to the ship and tell them to trust my hamster cave judgement next time. They're transporting frozen bacteria for the terraforming."

"You're kidding," the other guy, Kramer, said credulously.

"This'll keep us going for months. Here, you guys," Wes said to the crew of the cog, holding his gun out, "We're extracting your storage compartment into ours, but we need to move together a little because I'm guessing Police will be swarming this area in a few minutes. We can handle the exchange a few hundred miles from here."

Rann and Syke, their home on research station

Rann and Syke walked inside, and Rann intentionally left the blowtorch on the table so that Satyana would find it and not be worried.

Syke sat down and started running some numbers on their account while Rann propped up the piece of the wall that he had cut out; he would have to fix that tomorrow.

"Hey Rann, come here." Syke called quietly, so as not to wake up their sister.

Rann poked his head in the doorway. "What?"

"Look at this." he said to his younger brother, waving him over.

Rann leaned over his shoulder and looked at the handheld computer. "Oh compassion."

"That bastarde didn't pay us, which means we'll be getting a rather large bill pretty soon." Syke said, as he kept calm, systematically thinking of a way to fix the problem.

Rann was a little less composed, he began pacing about the room, talking aloud. "If they coem for us, you can bet it won't be pretty. Do we ask Satyana for help, or just take on a lot more jobs? Do we give ourselves over when they come? Do we fight them? I only have about ten rounds of Rithum, but I have plenty of bullets. I guess I could start making some weap-"

"Rann, shut up!" Syke whispered harshly.

"Shut up?" Rann shouted back, forgetting that Satyana was asleep. "At least I'm coming up with ideas, you're just sitting there gaping at a computer screen!"

"SH!" Syke insisted. "Satyana's asleep!"

"Fine, I'll shut up." Rann continued, still at a high volume. He walked back towards his room, but not without kicking a few select things first; such as the chair, (knocking it over) the refridgerator, and the wall.

Syke shook his head; something was wrong with that boy. He sighed and put his head in his hands. Rann could make more money around the station by fixing and improving the scientits' tools; he had done it for years before recently quitting. Syke couldn't really do anything as useful around the station; he could be hired help, but most of the people on the station were mostly self-reliant.

He heard a noise coming from Satyana's computer. Something called Arrow was contacting the station.

"Yes, Arrow, this is Research Station 413." he answered, since Satyana was asleep. Or maybe she was awake after Rann's outburst.

Syke, Research Station 413

Syke didn't really know the answer, but he assumed they would be with Frey's military.

"Yes, we work for the official Milky Way government." Syke replied with a shrug. Best to please enormous ships; and it was enormous, judging by the radar. They only had one docking bay for a ship that size, so he looked up the number of the dock while waiting for the Arrow to reply.

Rann, Research Station 413

Rann calmed down after a bit, and remembered that he needed to speak with an instructor. He got on his computer and sent her a message that said,

Dear Mrs. Smith,

My name is Rann Viann. You may remember me, because you tried to convince me not to drop out of school. While I stand by my decision, I would like to take my finals, despite the fact that I am no longer enrolled. this way, it is like I skipped that grade rather than dropping out. Judging by my previous grades, this should not be a problem. I am asking this so that I can have the option of applying to a college, where I may not already know everything.

Sincerely,
Rann Viann

"That should do." he said to himself as he sent the message. He wasn't trying to be arrogant or prideful, he merely stated the facts.

He heard noises coming from the living room, and noticed Syke leaning over Satyana's computer, speaking to someone...

"What the hell is going on?" He asked, looking at the screen.

Syke explained, and Rann immediately walked into his room and closed the door, obviously preparing something.

Syke, Research Staion 413

"I have opened docking bay number five. I would ask that you land there because it is the only one capable of containing your ship." Syke explained in a business-like manner. He needed to stsall for time though, and see what exactly needed to be done.

"And since a large majority of our staff is asleep at the moment, we would ask that you stay the night in your ship so that we can give you a proper tour of the facilities, and give you a better understanding of the workings of the station."

He could only hope that they would buy it...Suddenly he wished that he had paid less attention to the happenings on Mars, and more to the ones on the station.

Syke, Research Station 413

Syke cut off the communicator and let out a huge sigh. That could have been bad, and the ship seemed a little suspicious; even if the Station was allied with the military, then that ship could have been a Peace Fighters ship in disguise, or some oter faction wishing to gain an edge.

He still sat by the computer though, awaiting Satyana's arrival into the room to explain what happened, and ask a few quesitons.

Nicholas Archer
Archer II

Archer stood at the head of the Council seat, meeting his men.

"I suppose you want an explanantion," his embassador said sheepishly.

Archer stared at him harshly. "Yes, please dance for me."

"Well, there was a little economic break down with the Rykar empire..." he offered. "They called us over for a contribution they wanted to give, but when we got there it was a trap and they demanded money from us for accepting payment for our work on the Dresh restoration."

"Why would you trust the Empire to send a donation? We've been on bad terms with them ever since we notified the Milky Way Forces of their incoming attack. In fact, they called me a traitor."

"Well, I sort of reopened terms about a month ago."

"And I was not informed?" Archer pished.

"No, you were too busy for such a small thing..." the embassador excused.

"Yes, what a small thing it is to form an alliance with the most powerful Empire known to man."

"Well I pulled a few strings."

"You gave them information on the Milky Way Defenses," Archer corrected. "Madison, at this point you're going to prison for treason, all I want to know now is the full story, why were we ambushed by a Rykar fleet?"

"Treason? I thought the Peace-Fighters had it's own justice. I thought I was in my own state, aren't we trying to prevent this war?"

"We're trying to stop as much bloodshed as we can. Remember this started as a nonviolent movement. When I realized in today's Galaxy that was impossible, I moved on. However, I will tell you now, we are not trying to trick anybody into causing more war. I betrayed their attack plans for a reason, millions of people would have died. You, however, invite violence, treason. Now tell me exactly what happened, and don't lie, and maybe I'll turn you into the Milky Way Police. You don't want to know the alternative."

"Okay," Madison said, "Okay, it's simple. They wanted us to give the money back that the Rykar Outpost on Dresh gave us for our restoration work on Dresh. Naturally I refused, because we invested it. We laundered it, we invested it, it wasn't their money anymore. So I left, and they tracked down your fleet while you were setting up a defense parameter to step in on the Police action against those rioters on Mars. That's what I know, you experienced the rest."

"Okay," Archer thought, "I need to get ahold of the Intergalactic Milky Way Defense. Tell them the fleet is still in the area. As a gesture we'll turn in their criminal. We can't let the Rykar assault force that struck us get away. From what I remember it was about the size of an eighth of a small fleet, the biggest vessel was a Battleship," Archer ordered. There was no response, "GO!" he yelled.

QUOTE(ShogunSniper @ Oct 5 2005, 04:50 PM)
Mark was still a bit puzzled, "So... Are they deploying us with them in case something goes wrong with the Wildcats?  And if they're trying to test the combat effectiveness does that mean they are expecting us to run into some resistance out there?" he asked in the same low tone Juac used.

When Juac told him about the 3rd Lt. Mark shrugged and smirked, "What can I say?  I just can't keep 'em off me.  So, when do we takeoff?"
*

Juac Andrews

"I'm not sure why were going with them, seems strange. However we can't be going to far into Rykar space because were moving out without a carrier group." Juac played with the brim of his coffee cup and then looked up at mark and hesitated a bit, "I studied the maps during the briefing, and at the course they proposed it seemed like we were heading in the direction of Star H6799... The location that the Battle of the Blind happened at."

Juac gave off a frown, surely even Mark remebered the horror. "Well, anyways.." He finished off the last of the coffee, stood up and pushed the olive colored chair back in, "Were supposed to be suited and down on the flight deck in.." He looked down at his watch, "0700 hours.. Don't be late?"

K'savassa, Capital city of Lysetin on the ocean floor

"I really don't understand why we don't take a stronger stance against the Rykar." K'savassa stated sharply. "We have so much that they need."

"Exactly the problem, Vas." L'meremm stated in her always soft spoken diplomatic tone. "Our relationship with Emperor Gren is a narrow and fast flowing current. We must use caution when dealing with them for they DO need alot from our world."

K'savassa interrupted, "Then why not negotiate more favorable contracts with them?"

The ambassador smiled softly at her, "It is a delicate balance. They need our resources, and they are used to taking what they want. Please do not think for an instant that they could not take and hold the surface of our world if they chose. Gren at least does understand that holding our world and the mines on the land would cost him more military resources using force than it does through diplomacy and contracts. It is because we keep our contracts and treaties with them on the fair side that he tolerates it. Our people have no wish for warfare and we are treated well within the empire."

"But we are safe down here.. They cannot touch us if we choose to hide in the deep." K'savassa stated.

"They don't need to come down here to get us, young one. Look at Dresh. That is what would happen to our world in a conflict with the Rykar. Dresh's moons are gone. Can you imagine what would happen to the currents of our world should our moon also come to an end. The devastation to our tidal forces would be catastrophic."

K'savassa looked down at the floor and thought about it for a few moments. "You are right, as always. Your meal is ready." She moved toward the table and placed the dish in front of her teacher.

"It smells wonderful." L'meremm said softly, "Come eat with me! There is more than enough here for both of us." K'savassa smiled and joined her at the table. L'meremm continued, "How are your studies progressing?"

K'savassa rolled her eyes back and sighed, "Not good I fear. This human language is ... difficult. I understand the words and their structure, but.." She hesitated. "I mean they can say one thing and it will mean one thing, but mean another if their facial expression and tone is different. I am still having alot of trouble with what they call sarcasm. Literal, figurative speech." She ended shaking her head with bewilderment.

"Keep at it. You will get it. Perhaps you will meet a human someday and it will all become much clearer. Translations and holograms recordings of them isn't the best way to learn about them and their ways." said L'meremm. She then reached over and placed her hand on K'savassa's forearm. "I know this hasn't been an easy life for you. You were not born Ys'he and much of what you are learning is outside of your born-talents. Things are going to be changing soon though I think. For everyone." She paused for as if remembering something. "When we are finished here I want you to get everything ready for another journey. We will be departing in a few days for an extended time."

"Where are we going?" said K'savassa suddenly intrigued and excited.

"You will like it. We are actually going to be making a few stops throughout the system.. I will let you know more when we are under way."

(OOC: Sorry if my post is a little too short)

Captain Wes Hansek
Asteroid Belt

The Peregrine Warrior moved the merchant ship out of the way of the main route, hiding within a crevice of a larger asteroid. They realized that the storage compartment would be impossible to separate without leaving the crew stuck to die. Wes Hansek decided he would have to lock the crew in his own ship and drop them off before he sent the merchandise, it was risky but it was the best option he had.

So, soon he was travelling with both a hogtied crew and a freezer. His crew was ecstatic about their bounty, and he was too. They dropped the Crew off at a check-point, and not to their surprise only a few minutes later police fighters were seen at their tail.

"No Bounty is easy. We can't sell this directly, we'll have to send it through the Market.," Wes said. He cringed, the Market was in Neptune, and the frozen bacteria was meant for Mars. He probably wouldn't get more than half-price for it on the market, too. It was a bad choice. His bounty was probably already reported though. Steal something too expensive, that's what happens, your ship becomes notorious. Wes Hansek was nothing more than a smart gent with a fast ship. Those giant ones, the Destroyers and Dreadnoughts those big Pirates had, they were infamous because they could take on five Corvette escorts to steal the caravan. They got the good prices from the market. Wes Hansek had no respect. He refused to become a crew member, he had his gang and that was all he needed. he refused to serve anybody.

It was about time he earned himself a reputation, and got a good break. He knew the loop-holes in the Merchant trading system, he could outdo those giants. He needed the reputation. When he got the reputation, he'd get the good prices.

"Captain they're sending three TFs our way!" Lebbon yelled.

"Leave a couple interceptors to pick them up. Two will do it. Okay listen we need to duck back into the Belt, we can outdo 'em there." Make sure the TFs miss their mark before we turn. Marx, what's our supplies looking like?"

"We only got fifteen interceptors left, Captain," Marx replied.

"Not enough... Johnson, I want you to prepare a couple boosts!"

"Our ship's too big to ship off a boost in the Belt!"

"Can you handle it Legg?" Wes asked his pilot.

"Damn straight I can," he pilot said back.

"Well you got your answer Johnson," Wes said.

"Sir the TFs hit the interceptors, they've got EMPs on our trail though, smart bombs."

"Bah, stupid bombs, find that one asteroid with the tunnel that goes straight through, it should be in these coordinates."

"No sir it won't be around here for another month," someone answered.

"Well then take a chance and find one that looks like its got a tunnel!"

"Yes sir!"

The EMPs closed in, feet from the ship. A large asteroid rotated forward and the ship shifted up into a crevice. Seconds went by as it narrowed into a deep cave within the asteroid. The ship came out the other way, the missiles didn't.

"I got a signal coming through," said Chev. "They got a hamster cave read-out on our ship,"

"What the Hell, it's not even licensed," Wes stammered.

"They must have gotten to the manufacturer, because our ship is showing up on the record, we've already broken four laws."

"What? Not enough, leave some presents for them Johnson, fly straight, leave some mines, no, don't. Pop off an Oxygen bomb right into that asteroid there."

"Your name just came up on their list!" Chev said. "Your criminal record is coming up."

"OB deployed, sir"

"My criminal record? Dammit, they're going to match this ship with the Caliban (Moon of Uranus) incident."

"They're breaking into our communications!" Chev screamed.

"Oxygen Bomb armed."

"Mr. Wes Hansek," came a voice from the screen, "Slow your vehical now or we will shoot you out of the air."

"Yeah? Yeah what for? I'm a legitimate merchant," Wes Hansek said.

"Don't great compassion me," said the voice. "Give yourself up or we'll blast you."

"Blow the oxygen bomb," Wes said, and behind them they saw the entire squadron of Police vehicles enveloped in a fiery collision of exploding asteroids. Static appeared on the screen.

"You killed them," said Lebbon.

"Damn straight. We're going to the market now."

"We're untouchable now, they won't take more than a dime," Lebbon yelled.

"Frozen Bacteria is a hamster cave commodity. You have any idea how high the demand is on the Market for Frozen Bacteria? The Rykars want our bacteria so they can make diseases and stuff, eveyone wants our Bacteria. The Market wants to play hardball we go to the Rykar Empire."

A man once asked the Buddha, "How does one escape the heat of the summer sun?"

And the Buddha replied, "Why not try crawling into the blazing furnace?"

Veda
Io, Moon of Jupiter - TAG First Encounter Defense Quarters - Training Quarters 32-WR

Veda turned if his microphone, just a little chip actually placed over the ears to the soldiers that could make them communicate, even over long distance. After turning it off, he went up to meet his friend.

"Hi mate" Veda said as he came up to Kratos, "I can say that some of these new weapons are just wicked, but could need some work alright" Veda added as he gave a look over to the other soldiers in TAG training with the Shock Rifle.

"Looks like we could need some new weapons, just got off with the 3-HDS Leader outside Pluto. They had a small defense cruiser on the borderline to the Rykar, and it has been under fire. It's has landed on the 3-HDS Docks, but now no one can manage to get any contact with the crew or people on 3-HDS. And the live-video communcation showed that it has been taken over by a squad of Rykar, very well trained. I think it most be the one of their Elite squadrons" Veda continued with a serious tone...

"I got orders from the Major General in the Outline Encounter for the Human Defense that we need to take control of 3-HDS and hold it for 48 hours. The tactical officers have already said that within 48 hours they will have soldiers, engineers etc. landing on Pluto, all we have to do is hold it..." Veda added. He went to the wall taking down his SoRAR³² and taking one of the Shock Rifles strapping it on his back...

Kildor, Equipment Room, Blood Base

Kildor met V'Rinji in the equipment room.

"V'Rinji? Leader of the Reapers?" Kildor asked, just to make sure. When he gathered that he was right, he continued. "I am Kildor; I will be working with your team on the mission. They figured that having a Kran tear through their hull with a powerjack would be a little easier than trying to cut through it with laser guns. I will also be transporting you in my ship. After the hull is breached though, I will leave you there until you give me the signal." he explained, handing him a small communicator. "Just press the button to page me and I'll be right there for extraction."

"Now, what do you need as far as equipment?"

OOC: A powerjack is something of a futuristic jackhammer.

V'Rinji took the small communicator and put it away. One of the squadmembers handed him a small datapad, containing the list of the needed equipment. "This is what we need.", V'Rinji said as he gave Kildor the datapad.
