I like the fact that Pete gets so into that game there at the end of the dungeon during combat that he is stuttering around answering the questions. That says alot when a dev enjoys playing the product that they have been working on and looking at everyday for 3 years.

Wow, the trees in that forest sure were popping a lot.

It was working better than that for the E3 demo. Mind you, that's one of the things Pete was talking about - they're fixing speed issues, then going back and fixing whatever they've broken. Probably the "a few weeks old" build he was using had had the tree renderer increased in efficiency recently, but they hadn't finished correcting the popping that was created as a result at the point he burned his demo DVD.

Great to get some new gameplay footage. Are those vids exclusive to IGN, or are the IGN-subscriber-only higher resolution versions available elsewhere, too?

Edit: Watching the second video more closely, I saw something new about the gameplay. It appeared that Pete went into his Misc items inventory section, and selected a book entitled "Electrocution" that popped out an info window about doing shock damage. He then hit the creatures with his sword, and it appeared to be doing cast-on-strike shock damage. So, it appears that you can have supplimentary items (books... odd) that change the effect of your weapon.

Or it could have been coincidence, and his sword did shock damage anyway, and the book was irrelevant.
