I'm still listening to Metallica, but instead of the softer songs I've switched to the harder songs. I am fascinated by the Ride The Lightning album, I cannot put it down along with Master Of Puppets.

Other than that I occassionally switch to the Stone Temple Pilots Thank You album, Candlebox, Pearl Jam's Ten Album and Guns'N'Roses Appetite For Destruction.

I'm disappointed though at the number of people who think Metallica is 100% emo, they aren't at all.

NIN - Closer

This is one old hit of Nine Inch Nails, which launched them as 'fashionable', because it has a certain disco beat tongue.gif but everything else is hardcore: the text, the video for song... classic NIN, what can I say biggrin.gif

I've actually never heard any NIN except for the Quake ingame music... ohmy.gif That was great, though. Vey suitable for the game.

Their texts are subtle and vulgar at the same time. Their mellodies are strong, dark, yet somehow quite adequate and polished. They are, in one word, beautiful and ugly, horrifying and sensual, all at the same time. But I guess I am just being subjective here biggrin.gif

Listening to Quennsryche's 'Operation: Mindcrime' concept album. Great story, message, and music.

The story starts with a Dr. X calling for revolution, but only to serve his own ends. X uses a heroin addict named Nikki to kill political and religious leaders, and another character named Mary to be Nikki's 'conscience'. When Mary and Nikki become lovers, X orders Nikki to kill her, which would cause Nikki to lose all sense of individuality and morality. Mary is later found dead, and it's unclear whether or not he actually killed her.

The story is told through Nikki's flashbacks as he sits in prison for numerous murders, trying to connect all of the dots. The album ends with the phrase 'I remember now.' The story leaves a lot up to the listener, such as whether or not X actually existed and whether or not Nikki actually killed Mary...

This album gains the Dantrag Seal of Approval.

Don't you love it when your neighbours that're just out of their pampers think they need to pollute the environment with their silly modern music? I know I do. It gives me a reason to whip up some classics and turn that volume control knob clockwise all the way. The subwoofer stays on lowest setting, but that's still enough to cause minor quakes.

They're listening to some crappy MTV R&B, so I'm giving them some of these:

Fear Factor ft. Cyprus Hill - Back the f*** up
Onyx ft. Biohazard - Slam
Jungle Brothers - Brain
Bone Thungs & Harmony - 1st of the Month (K&D Remix!)
D-Flame ft. Eissfeld - Sorry

I'll pick a few more heavy bass tracks until they submit

I know what you mean (my neighbour plays "My heart will go on" endlessly. Currently however I've been listening to Green Day's Jesus of Suburbia rock-opera/concept album thing, and also some summer tunes.

I don't care if it's cheesy - I've been listening to "Steal my Sunshine" by Len.

You have to love a song that talks about imparing his 'tribal lunar speak'.

Oh, and does anyone have any idea what 'Loser' by Beck is on about? It just seems like he was flicking through a rhyming dictionary talking crap.

Listening to Dream Theater yet again; a song from their album 'Falling into Infinity'. Very soothing album. smile.gif

In my neighborhood, I'm the one that oppresses people with my music; not many people have the same tastes as I, so...yeah.

God Dagoth, I love your new avvy. And the people upstairs were playing fitfully bad reggae the whole time we were trying to sleep, so I'm going to crawl back into bed now that it's quiet for awhile. blink.gif

Black Hole Sun - Soundgarden

It's quite a depressing song. Yeah, I happen to love grunge to death. I like my Nirvana, STP, and Pearl Jam.
