I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard for someone good at scripting to mod in a catapult.

I would be like a kid on Christmas morning if I could put various items in a catapult and launch them.

Not useful to the game in any way but the extreme coolness factor makes up for that! LOL laugh.gif

difficulty depends on how cool you want it to be. You should definitly add a new set of animations for it as well as the art 3D object itself, plus you need to make it so that it is a surface where things can be dropped and then you would have to make it acctually propell things when you pull the trigger and then would those things get stuck after a certain height? without flying being available the ceiling could get pretty low in the game. Would you want to be able to use this as a weapon? that would put it in as a whole nother set of requirements that would have to be dealt with. It wouldn't be too hard in that it would be a small item but it isn't like adding a bit of land a putting in a new quest....which would be easier as it is relativly already in game. .....but maybe someone who has more experience than I with madding would find it to be "not too hard" but it would take time.

Heh, you shoulda seen me in Half Life 2 Garry's mod when I got my first catapault, so much fun shooting ragdolls into the horizon.

It probably will be possible in oblivion, catapaulting yourself to various places across the continent.

I doesn't need to be a weapon...its just a coolness factor IMO.

I would love to launch things just for fun....tables, old armor, food, bodies, etc.

If there was a castle, or keep somewhere that was either destroyed or perhaps involved in a seige or large battle, that would be a perfect place to put one! It would fit with the environment and story AND I could launch corpses and other items at the walls....hopefully there would be a moat of some sort to collect catapulted items LOL.

telekinesis allows for something similar to launching items into the distance....so maybe you should wait until post-play to see if you still want it...make a mage character and kinesis away...lol

Actually, this should be easy enough. Use the construction set, and I think the havok physics (YES I SPELT IT RIGHT AT LAST LOL) should do the rest. It would basically count as a trap I think.

I want to launch cows. evillol.sml.gif
