Anyone seen the new Doctor Who series?

Although having never seen any Doctor Who before (they've never shown that on the telly here) I personally looked forward to it very much, as I had heard a lot about it and knew that it used to be the longest-running SciFi show and that it inspired many other shows of it's genre.

I've to say that it's the best (new) show I've seen in a while. I like the actors/actresses, the title music is really cool and the stories are better than usual.

What do you think? I'd especially wonder what die-hard fans of the old Doctor Whos think smile.gif

I do like the new show. The lead character is engaging and his side-kick is both attractive and intelligent....

However, i do feel that the lighting they use is slightly overboard, but the graphic effects are outstanding, so they even out smile.gif

I thought it quite good. problem is the guy playing the Doctor is jumping ship after 1 series!
It was in the papers last week thath the BBC are furious that he is leaving, after ploughing millions into the marketing, and stuff. when the merchendising hits the streets at Xmas, the Doctor would have already changed!

well this is the first episode that really took the Old Doctor Who formula on board in my opinion. the first few, were mini stories, finished off in the one night.. this one actually did the "to be contuinued" bit!
I always cried i want to know what happened, now, and guess what.... now we have to wait! just like the good old days! smile.gif

Yeah but contemporary remixes of cheesey plots never go down well. I mean seriously, that plot is ridiculous and the aliens themselves were terrible!

I wouldnt mind if it was a low budget series, but its not at all.
