thieve's guild help, boots and vampires Options

i just got into the mission where you have to find the boots for what's his name in the plaza in imperial city and i'm a little bit stuck. so far, i killed all of the vampires and took the book from the coffin in the crypt along with the heritage papers upstairs in the desk and i have no idea what to do next. A possible problem is that the person who owns the house started attacking me so i had to kill him, is he still necessary for this quest? any help would be greatly appreciated

To get the boots of springheel jack simply start the mission over from the beginning (load a save) go to the house, go upstairs , and finally go to the top floor. Once there youll see a vampire, sneak and kill him dead, hes got the boots on him. No need to ever enter the crypts.

Ugh, I'n stuck on the same quest and I don't have a previous save that goes before I killed all the vampires.

Well its supposed to be when you read the journal about Jack turning into a vampire he comes down all gung ho trying to kill you. You kill him and the boots are on him. I would assume that you haven't cleared the crypts or you haven't found the journal. Or you might want to turn all the pages in the journal just in case that is what sets off the event.

thanks guys but i found it a while ago, finished the thieves guild, mages guild, arena, dark brotherhood too and thinking about starting the main quest now. I figured out what happened, i just killed the guy when he attacked me and when i looted his body i didnt look closely enough and i took his armor but not his boots and then afterwards when i looked at his body they werent actually equipped so i assumed he didnt have the boots, took me a long time to actually check it again
