Help on Main Quest Please, Re the Chorral Portal Options

Im on a PC if that makes any difference.

Ive gone into the Chorral portal, Ive gone up the first tower, and opened the gate, then went into the middle and went round clockwise, heading out on each strand to open up each gate.

Ive then wandered around feeling like a right lemon as I cant find a door into the central tower, and if I go down some of the towers from the top, I find doors out but not to anywhere seemingly useful.

Ive seen the levers entitled Ascension Calls but havent pulled them (well I did on a previous save but found that it stopped all the lifts/corpse mashers from working, so I reloaded the saved game and havent touched them since.

Im now walking away from the pc and taking a break before I smash it to bits in frustration! LOL

Any help/hints whatever would be great.

Btw I did do a search on various strands, words, and then read each post in the hopes of finding something.

I also have read the link to help from the main quest, which states

You'll notice the center Citadel is surrounded by 5 smaller towers, you'll need to go through at least one of those to reach the central tower. Enter the central tower, and Fight your way upwards, you'll find yourself unable to go any higher.

The key to this mystery are the other towers. Going through one of them, will allow you to get higher up on the main citadel. Once higher in the citadel, the story becomes the same again. Fight your way past traps and daedra to get to the Sigil stone, collect it and close the gate.

But I really cant fathom it out still (I read that well before coming here to search - it was my first port of call).

Also, as an aside, the guide also said Upon entering the gate, you'll notice two citadels, one right next to you and another one due south. The one next to you has some great loot, but isn't your goal here. but I cant find a way in to it - any advice on that would be great too please.

After trying a few more times, I went and had a sugar ring doughnut. Its amazing what a sugar rush will get you

I went up one tower (called Tornado) went to the centre tower, and went out each of the doors on the ring, noting each tower name and realised there were only 4. In clockwise order they are Tornado, Tsunami, Eruption and Landslide.

Knowing I was missing a tower, I went back down Tornado and ran around outside find the base of each tower and checking tower door names. I found Earthquake YIPPEE!

Entered Earthquake, killed the mobs, went up on the corpsesmasher, went up one circle of the ramp and came to a door, the ramp continued to go up but I didnt. I went out the door onto the walkway and came to the middle tower. Entering it I was on a different lvl, with another door. I exited that and it took me to Hurricane tower. Went up that one, out onto walkway and back into the central tower. Then just followed standard portal completion instructions.

I also found out that the Ascendant Call was just the equivalent of a lift button, it does bugger all if the lift (aka corpsecrusher) is already at the same lvl you are! hehe

Hope that helps anyone out there who was wondering.
