Today Bethesda announced they will be making a Beta patch available for download very soon.
Bethesda mentioned they would release both a patch for the localised (non english) versions in Europe and for the American version, though the localised versions would appear later. I don't think a patch could possibly fix all the things missing in Oblivion! But they can try ....
