Wouldn't it be nice to fly over all of cyrodiil in your very own airship? It could even be your own personal house. Just a thought. Any feedback would be appreciated or even any mod creators to actually make it would be even better smile.gif

It would cause glitches. If you want to see what I mean type "tcl" into the console and float up for a bit.

It isnt gonna be what you think it will look like, first time I floated up I was thinking "This is gonna be so coool!" and was a bit suprised at the glitches

Yeah, just delete this topic, come on, airships...IN TAMRIEL??? It's a bit in the past, yeah with magic, but do you see anything else floating around? And also, going with what ThePerson98 said, it would glitch like a baby on crack!

would be a nifty idea for fast travel. I know no one would use it that way, since you already have an on foot fast travel, but it would still be cool. I also dont think it would be out of place at all as long as you make it look makeshift, like its the first of its kind or somthing. I'd much prefer an airship then a unicorn.

With the fast travel idea you could do it much like the quest on the bloated float, only with endless sky insted of endless sea, giving the player character time to get other stuff done before they arive.

tcl activates No Collision a.k.a walk though walls ceilings etc.....
if you have ever tried to make your own dungeon or something else in oblivion
you would notice that each city, house, cave, outside world is on its own cell.
If you were to look at a house cell you would see the building and if you went out of the building via no collision you would see the house just like you were making it
in the editor(the walls would just be polygons that look like nothing from the back
the ceiling would not show up and the rest would be an empty grey mass.

In the outside world the game generates the sky to go with it and I've just checked the collision information and I'm not sure but I think there is no collision
above the walls in the citys so I think theres no stopping you just flying in there
because the city is connected with the countryside. The loading time that you get
when you enter the city through the gate is probably just the games engine calculating which cell the door connects to and reloading the same cell all over again except your character is put on the other side. I've drawn that conclusion based on the little village of hackdirt which is connected to the outside world and you can walk into it without loading screen just because there is no wall protecting it from enemies. also think of what happens when you want to wait it has to reload the area as well.

You are right - there is no collision above the walls (you can fall straight through the imperial citys tower if you try to stand on top) But the cities are not connected to the outside world at all, - infact most cities have their own world (e.g. anvil world etc) so all you could see from the airship would be the small block houses that make up the town in the tamirel world, (Like a box with a flat texture)
I'm pretty sure the reloading has something to do with npc's or maybe different textures for night and day, although I'm not sure about this...
