Alright... We'll work on our own versions of the elvish races...
Ours might get some "Air" time too (T.V. just in case noone understood that) but, no ours isn't going to be That big. But I (And hopefully the other members of the team) hope that we can give Bethesda a little compitition. If our game doesn't hit top ten, it's all right because it'll have served a purpose at least. We're not going to have a top class one like Offset, because they are a company and we're probably going to max out at 10 friends just trying to push thier favorite game company (Beth) into putting out superior games.
Of course if we do hit it big, then we'll continue (hopefully) and be a company some day and have our own forums open around us... wow, thats one hell of a daydream, Eh?

Offest is amazing... but its a shooter... so what we're doing Might Count as good as what thier doing despite thier graphics being amazing... Ok: Ibis, Mazelure. What are we calling this game... kinda hard to name the site without the name of the game... This post has been edited by DarkHunter: May 29 2006, 11:02 PM

Wow, this sounds really cool, if maybe slightly overambitous (considering DarkHunters quote "...If our game doesn't hit top ten, it's all right..." ) it's great to see folks actually trying to pull something off. I wish I could help but I know practically nothing about making games. I have very little programming skills and have only tested out Blender with a few tutorials to try some modelling, but nothing serious. I might have some imaginative ideas on quests, storyline or history but then again, I'm no expert. How many are you actually considering working with the game? Is it DarkHunter, Ibis and Mazelure? As mentioned, I would be happy to help with whatever I can. And wow, Project Offset looks amazing, another game to look forward too!

Haha, funny how the field were blank a few seconds ago and then suddently after a reload they were all magically filled in with info . (after you edited) Anyway, as I said, I'll gladly help with whatever I can. I'm a quick learner but I sometimes lack the time and motivation to get starting. Would be interesting to hear about that story, Angels and Demons are fascinating creatures .

hmm interesting idea... but i headed down that road once already: I had a good idea for a huge mod for another game some time ago. I had some skills (but not much) and because of the idea i had i was able to get about 9 people into it. With irc channel, forum etc. Went along quite well - but then, i found out that the guy who starts the whole thing needs talent in organizing and has to be quite experienced in at least one branch of skills needed for the whole project. My idea got spoiled by the lack of experience/organizing skill mainly. Forum, irc etc. are not that important, you just gotta start off. All of you who already want to participate, learn stuff, create some content basing on your idea (coder etc is not that important at the beginning). If you manage to take the first, hardest step, and actually create some stuff : a) people will join automatically in a working, promissing project you will have skills to create very much on your own and c) Naming, etc will get quite easy. My two cents to this

While actually making a game is far beyond my abilities, I would love to contribute ideas. I've also always wanted to see how various artists visualize my characters.

QUOTE(DarkHunter @ May 30 2006, 10:59 PM) Well ThanadoS I am good in one section: Writing Lore, Quests and Short stories. (nothing on Mazelure though...) Plus, this isn't a modding project. We're starting from (nearly) scratch. And I can organize quite well. (my room doesn't count) And we are working (soon at least) on something... Good to hear Yeah i know that you aren't modding but: in the end it's all the same, only that your way might be slightly harder, yet. I just mentioned what i experienced, if the things i said are no problem at all to you, great, then there is a great chance we see your idea blossom. If i were just a bit safer in the fields of the english language, i'd contribute stuff myself, but at the moment i think i wouldn't be able to pull off anything decent Good luck to you anyways

An idea would be to make people have different areas of responsability, like you (Mazelure) have the main Lore while DarkHunter has Races and Quests, etc..
I also like the idea of a round table, but I suppose someone that kind of organizes it a bit more than the rest would be good to have.

I think programming can wait, at least until there is a Lore and Story part roughly done. But then again, programming is kind of important when creating a game so I suppose we'll need someone who is rather good at it, especially when it comes to engine-creations . Also, a website is very much needed. It's a great way to organize stuff. I could create a temporary site and host it on my google-pages or ISP-space (no ads/banners on either) but it wouldn't be anything too sophisticated.

Okay, very good and helpful opinions from all!! Thanks for your interest and input. Maze & Hunter, I vote Bofra in ... if you guys agree. He has offered, seems very interested & has wonderful suggestions and seems level headed on this. I absolutely totally agree with Fuzzy = we should make our own names for the familiar version of races, probably giving them little visual/character twists of our own. as far as I know, the division of labor thus far is: Mazelure = writing the story, Race creations & names DarkHunter = Website Setup, Quests, Enchantments, Character Traits - Programming possibly Ibis = Artwork, Modeling, Character Depiction - Programming Bofra = Website Setup, Organizational Skills, other contributions to be decided if he joins usI too like the idea of a roundtable structure for our company. It gives everyone equal voice & that can be very important. Also we should vote if there are any decisions we have trouble agreeing on. If is does become an even number of company members - a tie vote could be broken by posting a survey at chorrol on the point in question and getting a public opinion for the deciding vote. I don't think we are being too ambitious. I have heard of games made by amateurs. I've even seen them reviewed or at least discussed in gamer mags. This example is a much simpler enterprise, but 2 of my friends & I posted a 3D cartoon called The Wingmer Sister (made with MW TESCS & mostly mods with my artwork added) at TheElderVaults.com & it was great fun & quite time consuming. But other than that, easy for 3 people - 1 wrote the storyline, 1 gathered the mods & was fashion consultant & I did the staging & screenshots in TESCS and then edited them with Paint & Photo Finish. I also hexed coded it into the website. But, I think if we keep things as simple as possible & be direct in our goals = this could work. Everyone who is saying for us to brainstorm first & get the ideas out on paper & to use a website devoted to this = are absolutely correct. We certainly welcome any input from everyone here at Chorrol and will consider all suggestions. ps- No need to worry about grammer. I am good at punctuation and spelling and as was said ... everything would be run through Microsoft Spellcheck as well. This post has been edited by Ibis: May 31 2006, 01:00 PM
