I'm listening to Styx - Miss America. The main riff makes the song.

Freewheel Burning- Judas Priest

Amazing harmonizing solos in this one. The proud album starter to Defenders of the Faith. Strongly suggested songs from that album are: Freewheel Burning, Rock Hard Ride Free, definitely The Sentinel, and Some Heads Are Gonna Roll.

Pitchshifter - GENIUS

"If dysfunction is a function (and we all learn from our own mistakes),
Then I must be some kind of genius."

I have been searching for this song for several years. Thankfully, he who waits patiently, finds what he was looking for.

Spent the day listening to my Beatles Anthology which was a Christmas present from a very good friend of ours the year it came out. Right now dancers are dancing on "So You Think You Can Dance" to the song The End of The Road which sounds darned like a Paul McCartney song.

Also was at MySpace adding videos to my account. Doomed reminded me there how much I love the Beatles - specially Ringo - in the most unique way that I'll never look at rings in the same way again. I do have a ring collection .... 37 silver and 12 gold ones ... counting my gold wedding band with 8 small emeralds in the holderbands around the diamond engagement ring and my simple silver wedding band that Cain made in his silversmithing class. That is my prized ring.

I love rings and Ringo was my favorite Beatle. We are taking a survey, btw, at MySpace to decide which Beatle DoomedOne looks the most like. There are prizes !!!

Canon Rock again ... FunTwo. Love that song, just wakes me right up in a great way!

I also found a good Pink Floyd video to add to my Video Favorites at MySpace ... they say it's a rare one. Looks like at a party or small stage anyways. biggrin.gif

Maiden's new album comes out next month. Check out the sample song they put on their site.

Both The Mars Volta and Iron Maiden are putting out new albums soon, and I now get a discount on CDs. Life is good.

Argh! I wish I got discounts on CDs. Every time I see a CD marked down from the price I bought it, I silently seeth in rage. Damn missing deals! Damn!

Personally, I'm looking forward to the new Deftones album coming out, the new Mastodon album, and the new Isis album coming out on Hallowe'en. Muhahaha!

I always think of Metallica, Maiden and Megadeth as the Metal Triumverate ... the 3 M's ... and also love Alice, Twisted Sister, KISS ... some of the true court jesters of that kickin' era as well. **Let big hair reigh 4ever proud!"

Yes, I agree with you there Ibis. Alice is the breaker of rock...he made it possible. Actually ell the famous bands from the seventies, are where they are right now beacuse of AlcieCooper, he was the one who started with rock as something really big, all the famous bands have said it themselves, Alice Cooper showed and made us the way.

But within the Glam rock, I like Kiss, and Wig Wam best (Wig Wam is actually a Norwegian band, quite popular here in europe). But twisted Sister are some realmeanies as well....their songs rock ahrd....I WANNA ROCK. biggrin.gif

but the definate best band ever is AC/DC in my humble tongue.gif opinion at least. My favouritesong from AC/DC is, Shot Down In Flames and For Those About To Rock We Salute You).

Yosu did...how come...they hit the nailstraight on the head with songs like I WANNA ROCk, and We're Not Gonna Take It...basically, we rise against the opression that is of parents school, government etc, and do what we want, and that we do not want to take all the crap they keep feeding us with anymore...hehe....

Their looks are just a bonus, especially of the vocalist.

that is why they are scary. I'm not a huge fan of crossdressing metalheads.

I guess Dee Snider makes up for the look with his smarts. I was too young for the attack on metal but I've seen clips of him talking in court against Tipper Gore and friends.

Well...they chose they way they look for a reason...they just like Kiss thought a little out of the box, and it payed off didn't it? Being special isn't always bad, and when they do something different than everyone else, well then they do get attention, and when they get attention they make money...I dont think they would have made so much money as they did/do, if they were wearing normalclothes, didn't have the makeover, and those humungous hairstyles.
