Well, my taste in music is primarily rock. Specifically, metal. Some bands I like are; System of a Down, avenged sevenfold, static-X, Black Sabbath, the beatles, red hot chilli peppers, evanescence + many more. That's only the very top of my list, but you can guess what else I like from there.
What I'm cdurrently listening to is some System of a Down songs that are new to me. It's like a whole new CD was released, though it wasn't (hiatus!). ALl the songs are songs that were released on various singles, Movie sound tracks, demo tapes, and live recordings, that DID NOT appear in the other CDs. SOme really bizzare stuff, and I love it. I especially like songs like 'Johnny' 'Friik!' and 'mushroom cult'(dog fashion disco feat. Serj Tankian). I'm quite pleased with all this stuff though. My favorite songs of all time by any artist: Forest- system of a down Yesterday- the beatles Snowblind - black sabbath (system also has a great cover of this song)
ANd there ya have it.

Audioslave - Be YourselfQUOTE(lyrics) Someone falls to pieces Sleepin all alone Someone kills the pain Spinning in the silence To finally drift away Someone gets excited In a chapel yard Catches a bouquet Another lays a dozen White roses on a grave
To be yourself is all that you can do To be yourself is all that you can do
Someone finds salvation in everyone And another only pain Someone tries to hide himself Down inside himself he prays Someone swears his true love Untill the end of time Another runs away Separate or united? Healthy or insane?
To be yourself is all that you can do To be yourself is all that you can do To be yourself is all that you can do To be yourself is all that you can do
And even when you've paid enough, been pulled apart or been held up With every single memory of the good or bad faces of luck don't lose any sleep tonight I'm sure everything will end up alright
You may win or lose
But to be yourself is all that you can do To be yourself is all that you can do
It's just another one of my thousand anthems... keeps me running and breathing. This post has been edited by milanius: Dec 8 2006, 11:52 PM

Another Saturday, another list. This one is to celebrate my purchase of the Isis CD, In the Absence of Truth:
Oceanic - Isis Panopticon - Isis In the Absence of Truth - Isis The Eye of Every Storm - Neurosis Every Red Heart Shines Toward the Red Sun - Red Sparowes Origo - Burst Aenima - Tool
Now with a couple of listens of the new Isis album, I can say I'm certainly pleased. They incorporate a different style, but it's still distinctively Isis. Basically the main changes are that they use more hypnotic sung vocals instead of the hardcore shouts, the drums have also become more hypnotic since they have a more tribal sound that sounds somewhat similar to Danny Carey's playing on Tool albums. I specifically like the hand drums used in the instrumental song Firdous E Bareen. They also have moved away from implementing the huge crescendo of heavy guitars. They still have moments like that, but not in the way of songs like Syndic Calls, or In Fiction from previous albums. I get a more rock feel then metal with this release. Which is perfectly fine with me!

Audioslave - The Worm Very angry, very loud. Cornell sounds more than pissed in this one and, by God, he sounds good when he sounds angry.

Seen Through Time by Cellador.
This stuff is CRAZY good power metal. Really speedy stuff that's kinda along the lines of Dragonforce, but without the cheesy lyrical themes. The musicianship displayed by these guys is phenomenal considering their ages range from 17-23. And it's the drummer who is 17, and the drumming is absolutely nuts on this CD!
You can still see their youth in the singing department though, their singer sounds off-key every now and then when he tries to hit the high notes every once in awile. I can't to see what else they'll put out, because considering their youth, they're going to have lots of time to improve and become more solid. And they really really, good now, so that idea boggles my mind!
PS - Megadeth rules! I wanna listen to some Rust In Peace era stuff now....

speaking of power metal... been listening to a lot of Blind Guardian. Excellent band, but there's a point where they just get to be too much. A little too much fantasy lyrics for me sometimes. Nonetheless, sometimes I feel the mood, and I've been trying to learn the solo of 'Into the Storm' from their Nightfall in Middle Earth album. Just have to speed it up, and all will be well.
