Well, I hope I managed to make it good.

Clash of the Titans, round VI: Revan vs Taillus

Mehrunes Dagon sat on his throne. The last few battles played through his mind. The fear, the resolve. A pleased smile crept among his lips. Still, it was not enough. He craved for more, always more. No longer could the battles of two mortals bring him the pleasure he needed. He had to find a battle capable of more.

For a moment, he played with the thought of bringing out two entire armies to do battle. Perhaps Khajiit against Bosmer? Persuading those two to fight would be easy. However, any sense of an individual struggle would be lost in a the anonymous chaos. No, armies would not bring him the pleasure he was looking for.

At the far end of the throne room, the massive door swung open. In strode a monster just as big, if not bigger, than Mehrunes Dagon himself. Its face split open into an amiable grin, a rather unnerving sight.
,,Mehrunes, have I seen this right. Are you playing with the mortals again?” It whispered, its voice still travelling across the vast space between the two. Mehrune’s face twisted in rage. Four axes materialized in his four hands.
,,Molag Bal, what I do in my realm is my business alone!” He roared.

Molag Bal created an oversized version of his favourite mace in response.
,,Now don’t be so angry. I haven’t come to repeat that dreadfully boring speech Azura gave you after that little mortal defeated you. I’ve come to bring you an offer. How about staging a battle between gods?” The daedra proposed. Mehrunes lowered his axes and thought about it. A battle between gods. Yes, that would truly be a great sight.
,,That sounds good. Is Akatosh in it? I’ve been waiting a long time to see that filthy dragon’s death. I swear, if he hadn’t given his powers to that little emperor, I would’ve conquered Nirn!”

Molag Bal chuckled.
,,I’m afraid that won’t happen. Remember that the Septim only received a small portion of the Aedra’s might. If we would bring Akatosh here, he would tear you to pieces without breaking a sweat. No, I have two other warriors in mind. They’re not gods, but they’re close enough.” The two Daedra walked to the balcony overlooking the arena.

Two men had entered the pit, a barrier of flame separated them from each other. One of them was hidden completely behind an exotic suit of crimson armour. Even the face was hidden behind a black plate. His only weapons were a pair of simple wooden hilts without a blade. To anyone, the armour and the weapons would look like a very odd match.

The other was dressed in a suit of Daedric. Held in one hand was a massive Daedric battleaxe. To anyone else, the incredible weight of the armour alone would have been enough to drive him to his knees. This man however moved back and forth along the barrier as if he was only wearing light clothing. The man’s face bore the signs of pain and lack of sleep. Madness raged just behind his eyes.

Mehrunes Dagon looked at the two opponents, in particular at the one in the outlandish armour.
,,That’s Revan the Narynn down there. He isn’t very godlike to be honest. Are you trying to fool me?” He accused his fellow daedra. Molag Bal shrugged and pointed at the man in Daedric.
,,I can assure you that Revan has improved tremendously since the last time you saw him. Now as for the other man. His name is Taillus and he is one of my most accomplished warriors. He alone once wiped out nearly the entire of Vvardenfell in one of the many parallel realms, using the souls of his victim’s to further his strenght. He has only been defeated once, and even then the defeat didn’t kill him or rob him of his powers. Rather, he was forced through a portal where he conveniently landed in my own realm. Now, please enjoy the show.” Molag Bal made a cutting motion with his hand and the barrier of fire vanished.

With the barrier gone, the two could see each other for the first time. Taillus looked at Revan with his bloodred eyes and smirked upon seeing the man’s choice of weaponry.
,,What are you going to do with those things? Start a campfire? Allow me to make some firewood.” He taunted and laughed maniacally. Revan said nothing, his features hidden behind the mask.

Without warning, the Narynn vanished, seemingly swallowed by the shadows. Taillus stopped laughing. He turned on his heels slowly, his axe held out loosely. The smirk was still there but his eyes scanned the arena feverishly. The only sound was the howling of the wind outside and the crunching of sand underneath his feet. No, not just under his feet. The sand under Revan’s feet crunched as well.

Taillus spun around to face him. His axe cleaved through what appeared to be empty air. Two blades of silver humming with power erupted and stopped the Daedric blade. Revan stood before him, having returned to visibility as sudden as he’d vanished.
,,Using stealth to fight me? Coward!” Taillus said and spat on his foe’s mask. This act struck a nerve and Taillus felt a cold grip embrace his heart. He made a trembling step backwards, breaking contact with the silver blades which appeared to have grown out of Revan’s wooden hilts. Revan increased his mental grip, causing the heart to beat irregularly.

Taillus shouted and lunged forward. His axe swung down with incredible speed. Revan lost his focus on the heart and instead brought his blades up again to catch the axe. Helped by the weight of the Daedric armoured man behind him, the axe managed to make Revan sink to his heels into the sand as the weapons collided. Revan gritted his teeth as a sharp pain shot through his arms which nearly broke under the force of impact. If it wasn’t for his training and the unique properties of his armour and weaponry, the axe would’ve cleaved him in half.

Both men pushed against each other, trying to bring the other out of balance. A kick from Revan was caught with Taillus’ free hand and he pushed the leg away, causing the Narynn to stumble and nearly fall. Taillus increased his pressure till Revan had to give in. The Axe now continued its descend, cutting a large gash into an armourplate but being directed by the underlying layer till it hit the sand. Revan slashed with his blades, cutting some minor grooves in the Daedric armour his enemy wore before the axe was drawn out of the sand and swung at him again.

Again Revan managed to block, though the pain in his arms had grown with that last strike. It was obvious to him that as far as brutal strength was concerned, Taillus was his master. Revan sought for ways to make some distance but any attempt was stopped by Taillus who kept pressing against his blades. If he stepped back now, he would be hit again and judging by what that glancing blow did, the axe would cause a major wound. Seeing no other option, Revan began to push back, straining his muscles to bring himself as close to Taillus as he could.
Their faces nearly touched each other, only kept apart by Revan’s mask.
,,Since you’re not willing to fight fair, I’ll make your death a painful one!” Taillus hissed.

Light exploded in his skull and he reeled back. When his vision was restored, Revan was nowhere to be seen. He’d used the opportunity his headbutt provided to become one with the shadows again. Taillus did what he’d done last time. He listened for the crunching of sand underneath Revan’s feet. The crunching went further away, out of the arena.
,,Trying to escape? I’ll get you!” Taillus shouted at the invisible Narynn and gave chase.
