I've never gotten bloodwork done, which sounds like what you're basically getting done, but the only needle that I've received that actually was painful afterwards was my second "booster" shot (I think it covers things like tetnus, and a couple other, long named things). It was painful because they basically stabbed me with it in order to go deep enough into the muscle (or through it, I forget) to inject. I've also gotten needles in my mouth, those are totally fun! I just don't try to look at them since I figure I would tense up, which would result in a more painful needle.

Ugh, I hate needles. *shudder*.
The worst one was the time I had to get a tooth pulled. The tooth was fine, it was just sitting in the way, according to the dentist. I think he just wanted to be sadistic for once. So they stuck a needle in my mouth to tranquilize the area and it damn bloody hurt! Five minutes later, he finds the tranquilizer didn't work so he did it again!
Long story short. Five needles later, my mouth had swollen a ton from all that tranquilizer and it still didn't work. Either he is a lousy needler, or I'm immune to the stuff. Anyway, I got the tooth pulled without any working tranquilizer. More hurt. Damn, I hate dentists.
Or the time they stabbed like ten different needles in my arm for a regular allergy-test. Swelling=allergy. Big swelling=big allergy. Imagine their surprise when my whole arm grew like a balloon. I couldn't bend my elbow properly for two days. And it felt so awkward.
Arrr matey, I hate needles.

Dentists aren't the best but my all time worst is when i broke my arm earlier this year and had to have surgery. There was a nurse that had to shove a needle in my body to get some fluid in and whatnot. so instead of trying to get that vein on the inside of my arm...... she tried to shove it into my bloody hand! garg, it sucked. She shoved it in once and then said "oops, i think i missed" so she pulled it out and put it back in. "oops, i missed" I swear that this went on a few more times, and i don't know if she realized she wasn't going to get the damned thing or if i said something but she finally decided to try the vein in the arm... viola first try she got it in. My hand was sore for a bit... until l i got the cool sleepy drug edit: and the sad thing is that she wasn't one of those young blond nurses either, she was an older one that should have known what she was doing This post has been edited by Soulseeker3.0: Jul 9 2007, 06:47 PM

QUOTE(Zarrexaij @ Jul 9 2007, 12:21 AM) I went to see Transformers Friday night with my boyfriend, it was awesome.
I went to the doctor Friday about the nausea that's plagued me since Wednesday. My doctor thinks I have hypoglycemia. I'm getting my blood sugar level tested this Friday. Joy.... being poked and proded with needles all over again. I don't care what anyone says, I've been poked with needles several times, and I never got used to it, nor the sight of my own blood filling a needle.
Eeeguuughgh!
True. I was desensitized to taking injections into my butt at early age, but getting a needle in the vein is always uneasy, eerie feeling. Hang in there, Care Bear. Weather is unbelievably cold and gloomy today. I love it. I already feel better just from the cold breeze and the fact we don't have to shower 4 times a day to stay alive.
