Bethesda really missed out on incorporating a few small features of "Fable" into this installment of the Elder Scrolls. Namely the "sim" elements.
For instance, you need the option to court partners in the game---their availability being judged by your fame or completed quests---meaning, if you've closed a city's Oblivion Gate you could court the count or countess there. If you've done absolutely jack crap...you could court a beggar.
Each courtship itself could carry small quests---searching for prized jewels or doing favors for the person's family. If your mate is wicked---you may have to kill for their affections. You could even have to beat the living hell out of another possible suitor.
Once the missions are completed you can join them in marriage, and purchase a home where that person will almost always remain, unless they have a skooma habit or like to shop a lot.
From there, you could be unfaithful in other cities, or even follow Bill Paxton into a ficticious life of polygamy.
And I don't really the know the modding capabilities these days---but having offspring that are facial amalgamations of you and your partner would be the shizzle.
