QUOTE(mplantinga @ Jan 28 2010, 01:29 AM) I've been playing Morrowind again lately, and even cranked out a couple (very simple) mods specifically for House Redoran. One is a set of bonemold armor that gives you increasingly powerful bonuses as you level up in House Redoran's favored skills; the other is a combat trainer in the council hall practice room that you can engage in one-on-one combat to train combat skills (see forums threads: here and here). /shameless plug Ah dr Planty! So incredibly nice to see you're still out there lurking around! Those mods looks very interesting, I'll certainly download...ehhh when I get a comp that will run MW without CTD after two minutes. In the meantime I've sort of taking up writing again...

QUOTE(minque @ Jan 1 2010, 08:52 PM) Just found out I can't play MW on this poor pc, I reckon my hubby has just filled it up with his things and/or the CD is a little scratched. The game crashes or freezes after about 2 minutes of gameplay! Anyway I got really annoyed.... Can you get Morrowind on Steam?

Steam is a digital delivery service made by Valve Software (the creators of Half-Life). You download it, create a free account, then you can buy all kinds of games and they are linked to your account forever. And since you download the games you don't have to worry about CDs getting scratched, broken, or lost. You can have friends on there too and join groups and whatnot, it is quite robust and I have been using it since 2004.

For some reason I can't add replies in Fan Fiction right now. It's odd. I've been trying to compliment Olen on his fine work.
Getting a new laptop this week, by the way. Should be nice.
Edit: Hmph. I just found that I can comment on "Blood on the Moon".
2nd edit: And now I can finally comment on "Burning Today", after about ten different attempts. Quite odd.
Anyway, as I was saying, I should be getting a new laptop this week. Big ol' hard drive, should be able to run some games fairly well. More importantly, it complements my rather nomadic lifestyle. Hauling a big old circa-2002 PC across the country has its pitfalls. A new laptop should make life a little easier, in that respect. And I only paid 'bout $460, American money.

Hey now Trey, The Forum That Shall Not Be Named was a steaming load of dung even before the slick new name and the slick new design. No surprise there really.
As for myself, I've been informed that my layoff paperwork has arrived yesterday, while I was on a sick-leave. F'ing finally. That explains the reluctance of my shop manager to give me a 5-minute call and tell me which shift I should work in (she rotates us randomly). I'll now have to read the damn thing carefully and see if there aren't any tricky bits in there. Private firms here like to do that to you, scam you out of anything they can.
edit - well it seems things will get complicated from the start

Hi, I'm Haute Ecole Rider.
I'm from the Forum that Shall Remain Unnamed.
I go by various nicknames, all plays on my user name - Haughty Rider, Dressage Rider, High School Rider (though I haven't seen the inside of a high school in years that are better left unnumbered), even Hot Collie Rider. I don't offend easily, so feel free to add new ones!
Haute ecole in equestrian terms refer to upper-level dressage riding, the sort seen at the Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. Because I'm poor and currently horse-less, I don't compete, but it doesn't stop me from riding!
I'm a Midwesterner living (where else) in the Midwest, specifically Northern Illinois.
I'm going to kick back a while here and observe, before I start moving my WIP here. I'll have to say that I'm already impressed by what I've seen so far.
