I've been playing Morrowind again lately, and even cranked out a couple (very simple) mods specifically for House Redoran. One is a set of bonemold armor that gives you increasingly powerful bonuses as you level up in House Redoran's favored skills; the other is a combat trainer in the council hall practice room that you can engage in one-on-one combat to train combat skills (see forums threads: here and here). /shameless plug

Ah dr Planty! So incredibly nice to see you're still out there lurking around! Those mods looks very interesting, I'll certainly download...ehhh when I get a comp that will run MW without CTD after two minutes.

In the meantime I've sort of taking up writing again...

Just found out I can't play MW on this poor pc, I reckon my hubby has just filled it up with his things and/or the CD is a little scratched. The game crashes or freezes after about 2 minutes of gameplay!

Anyway I got really annoyed.... sad.gif

Can you get Morrowind on Steam?

Yes, you can. i have such a copy. You can even mod it, but you can't put TR or one of the code patches.

As for modding it: http://www.overclock.net/pc-games/528344-s...ot-modding.html

Follow these steps and you'll be fine.

Steam is a digital delivery service made by Valve Software (the creators of Half-Life). You download it, create a free account, then you can buy all kinds of games and they are linked to your account forever. And since you download the games you don't have to worry about CDs getting scratched, broken, or lost.

You can have friends on there too and join groups and whatnot, it is quite robust and I have been using it since 2004.

We had a little technical problem on wednesday. I'm afraid the aftereffects may have lasted until yesterday, even though I did my best to fix it right away.

Problem was with the nameservers for the domains - they just evaporated and I had to get new ones, and it just takes a while for such changes to propagate. Unfortunate, but what can one do.

On the upside, now something like that shouldn't happen again, ever.

I noticed but it still remains a fact that chorrol is extremely reliable, I think that's only the second time I couldn't reach it since I joined quite a while ago...

Can't say I really have anything to say, uni has me stuck in an endless cycle of grey days, dark rooms and unpleasant maths with the occasional experement which doesn't work to brighten things up. It's not so much bad as just all the same, I like the overall course (even if most of this semester is rubbish) but if you asked me what I did last week, or even two days ago, I'd have no memory but could tell you. Same as next week...

Still come the end of may I have lots of holiday through the summer so I just have to wait until then.

Going to Norway on sunday, together with my son. Hopefully the trains and buses are reliable despite the snow-chaos...

For some reason I can't add replies in Fan Fiction right now. It's odd. I've been trying to compliment Olen on his fine work.

Getting a new laptop this week, by the way. Should be nice.

Edit: Hmph. I just found that I can comment on "Blood on the Moon".

2nd edit: And now I can finally comment on "Burning Today", after about ten different attempts. Quite odd.

Anyway, as I was saying, I should be getting a new laptop this week. Big ol' hard drive, should be able to run some games fairly well. More importantly, it complements my rather nomadic lifestyle. Hauling a big old circa-2002 PC across the country has its pitfalls. A new laptop should make life a little easier, in that respect. And I only paid 'bout $460, American money.

Well thanks for the kind works Canis.

I had a little triumph today, not sure I've ever mentioned it here but one of my hobbies is building things mainly from junk and today I finally got a laser I've been planning and working towards for quite some time to give off light. It's not great but that it works at all is a surprise giving it's entirly made from things which were being (or had been) thrown away along with a few household items. So yea, I'm celebrating.

All, just wanted to let you know that we may be seeing an influx of new folks from a certain other forum over the next few days. If you wonder why, just take a look at the "new and improved" layout over there.

Anyway, my purpose here is to give a joyous Chorrol welcome to any new folks who happen to wander in, and I hope our other denizens will do the same.

This has long been a friendly, fun-filled place- and these new folks are going to fit right in.

Hey now Trey, The Forum That Shall Not Be Named was a steaming load of dung even before the slick new name and the slick new design. No surprise there really.

As for myself, I've been informed that my layoff paperwork has arrived yesterday, while I was on a sick-leave. F'ing finally. That explains the reluctance of my shop manager to give me a 5-minute call and tell me which shift I should work in (she rotates us randomly). I'll now have to read the damn thing carefully and see if there aren't any tricky bits in there. Private firms here like to do that to you, scam you out of anything they can.

edit - well it seems things will get complicated from the start

Mil- I meant to express my upset at your unemployment news earlier. But, when I have nothing constructive to say, I just kind of remain silent.

I have done the lay-off shuffle myself- and have worked for several family-owned businesses. From the latter I learned that the only people who make any money are those whose name is on the letterhead.

But- I did come back from it- with some new scars, I admit (emotional and physical). And things got better, even though it took a while.

Know that my thoughts are with you.

Hi, I'm Haute Ecole Rider.

I'm from the Forum that Shall Remain Unnamed.

I go by various nicknames, all plays on my user name - Haughty Rider, Dressage Rider, High School Rider (though I haven't seen the inside of a high school in years that are better left unnumbered), even Hot Collie Rider. I don't offend easily, so feel free to add new ones!

Haute ecole in equestrian terms refer to upper-level dressage riding, the sort seen at the Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. Because I'm poor and currently horse-less, I don't compete, but it doesn't stop me from riding!

I'm a Midwesterner living (where else) in the Midwest, specifically Northern Illinois.

I'm going to kick back a while here and observe, before I start moving my WIP here. I'll have to say that I'm already impressed by what I've seen so far.

Only sugar please....

Hi guys!

My name is Remko (go figure...), aka RemkoNL, and I am another straggler from, well, you know where.
Glad to be here.

I will be posting my drivel here too, hope you enjoy it.
And since this topic allows more than one fan-fic, I am pleased to announce I will be writing a background on my character Zerina (some of you may know her from my fan-fic: memoires of Rales Sarethi) soon too.

My name...Zalphon. I am an exile from the doomed city, The Bethsoft Forums. They banned me for "flaming" AKA disagreeing with people. I come from the dark lands of Bethesda Softworks. Call me friend, foe, or whatever you want. Exile is a hurtful thing, but I'm strong. I have come in hopes of a new life on the forums. I pray to The Tribunal Temple that I can enjoy these forums as much as I enjoyed the "Old Ones."
