The first Trey story still exists in the fanfiction section of chorrol (the main site, only the end is on the forums) so you could copy and paste from there... likewise Trey in Mournhold.

I'm glad to hear you're getting another computer and that you've rescued the material for the story at least, I'm not sure what I'd do without my occasional bit of Athlain.

Things are so so with me, the knee injury I took in June seemed to be better but returned within the first mile of me trying to run again and seems to be back where it started almost. I'm begining to suspect I've damaged the cartilage which is annoying. It certainly puts an end to this summer's activities.

Congrats on getting a new (used) computer, Treydoggie! May it serve you well for years to come!

Oh, Olen, sorry to hear about your re-injury. Ugh! I got kicked by my mare (unintentionally on her part) and it put my hip out of joint. It was a few years before I felt I could trust it again to start riding again. By that point my horse was quite advanced in years and not as strong as she used to be, so I couldn't return with the same intensity I had before. Now that she has passed away (spring last year), I'm currently horseless, except for dear pixelated Paint.

Best of luck treydog, on rescuing your stuff and getting back in business. I surely don't envy you. sad.gif I worry about that, and try to back up my stuff too.

Sorry 'bout your knee Olen. I'm a runner too. Occupational requirement for several decades till I retired. I still run 3x/week and lift weights on 3 of the other days each week. I guess old habits are hard to break. That's what Rider says anyway. tongue.gif I hate the feeling of not being able to run or lift weights when so forced by injury - ugh. Hope it gets better.

Is there perhaps a real paint in the future for our Lippizan Lady? Are you riding these days?

These last two days have not been fun for me or anyone in my family.
So yesterday my mom and dad left for Germany. That was the last time anyone saw Bolzmann. I couldn't find him anywhere but I assumed he was pissed since they left.
However today I got really worried when I still couldn't find him. I looked for him for hours.
And at last at 9 pm my neighbour found him. He was watering his bushes when suddenly heard a noise. It was Bolzmann who was under the bush. He contacted me and told me that Bolzmann looked sick. He was indeed. I picked him up and took him inside. He could barely move was complaining alot. I called mom and dad. Me and my sister took him to the vet. The vet told us there weren't much they could do.

He was put to rest

We are still not sure of what the cause of death was.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your namesake!

He may have had underlying disease not detectable by basic bloodwork (i.e. cancer, heart disease, rickettsial disease, etc), and the heat you have been having there put him over the edge.

I don't think it has anything to do with your parents' leaving - the timing is likely pure coincidence.

That said, it just plain sucks. I'm glad you had your sister with you and didn't have to go through this by yourself.

Take care of yourselves, both of you. Take comfort in the fact that Bolzie didn't sound like he was suffering unnecessarily.

Oh, my very dear friends, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. We certainly know how difficult it is- only with your folks just started on vacation, it is even more so. However, as haute said, it was certainly a result of a condition that had developed over time...

Be well, and know that you are in our thoughts.

sad.gif I'm so sorry Bolzmania. I know your mother was so looking forward to the trip to Germany. I'm sure that Bolzie slipping away for the night was not the cause of his death. Horrible timing I know, but then there is really not a good time for this, is there? Not your fault, just his time. Again, I'm sorry.

I'm sorry about Bolzmann, my thoughts are with you.

Sometimes, Time has a sick sense of humor. I should know, I experienced this kind of thing as well. Again my thoughts go with you.

My condolences friend. When I was six, one rainy night we had a sick dog who needed to pee. We let him out and never saw him again. I still miss him, he was one of the best dogs I've ever seen verysad.gif.

When I was an infant and toddler, my brother and I (who is two years younger) would mess with him a lot. Not intentionally, we were toddlers, we liked to play with stuff. However, that dog if anyone rose a finger against us, he'd threaten to bite your face off.

I know how it feels, bud.

Sorry to hear that, it's dreadful timing but I suppose if it had been developing it was going to happen eventually.

I hope Minque can still enjoy her holiday.

Thanks all for your kind words. I still can't grasp that I do not have a cat anymore! I feel likethere's a big hole inside of me, I miss him immensely! My dear children were so great, they took care of everything it was hard on them, I know that.

Strange thing I have had this feeling ever since he first got sick that I would soon loose him...but I did say a fine goodbye to him just before we left tuesday morning. So his sweet soft stomach my last memory of Bolzie is a cuddly soft kitty lying on his back in the grass, me tickling his soft stomach. I kissed his head and told him that everything was going to be fine...

The next day I had to decide, over the phone, that he was to be put to sleep...

My kids buried him today, under his favourite bush...in our garden, by the veranda....
,
I have no cat anymore, it tears me to pieces..

Bolzmann R.I.P..You were the sweetest kitty....I miss you so much!

Been there, done that. At least you got to say a wonderful good bye to his furry tummy.

Your kids were very brave to take care of him at the end. Having worked emergency medicine for a total of fourteen years, this is something I see all too often. Still breaks my heart . . .

Take care of yourself, minxie, while you come to terms with the void in your heart. It'll take time, so don't rush it.

Dear friends, mALX has asked that I update everyone at the Coffee Shop on her absence.

As you recall, her ex-husband was terminally ill. Sadly, he did indeed pass away just recently. Things are hectic now, with family in town for a memorial service and working through the probate process. As soon as that rush is over, unrelated business will call her out of town for about ten days. After that, she hopes to collapse for a week or so to absorb what has happened. She emphatically states though, that she will be back.

I know you join me in wishing her comfort during a trying time. I expect she will once again brighten up our forum before the end of August.

Thanks so much for the update, Paladin!

On the one hand, I can't wait to have mALX back with us. On the other, I hope she takes as much time as she needs to work through all this before she rejoins us.

mALX, we will all be here for you when you return! Don't come back before you are ready.

Sorry for your loss Minque. As I have said, the peace you gave him is better then his suffering.

Still thinking of you folks, minque and Bolzmania.... Time does heal- it just takes a while.

Acadian- thank you so much for the update. We miss our mALX around here- the place seems darker and emptier without her.

On the computer front, my new (used) $160.00 system arrived and is now set up. Morrowind and Bloodmoon are installed, but I have not yet discovered whether my save games will load...

Much computer geekery was performed over the weekend- I will refrain from boring everyone with the details. Suffice to say, Morrowind with integrated graphics instead of shaders is awfully ugly, so there will be no screen shots for the time being. On a better note, I now have software which allows me to do a complete backup and restore of my system (including all program files- and saved games).

If life and work and computer repairs will allow, I hope to be playing MW soon (and writing about it). I also hope to be able to devote some time to reading all the great work I have sadly neglected over the last few months.

Acadian: That's sad....Thank you for the update. I think we'll all be sending mALX our wishes for good luck. She'll be missed in this community.

On the computer side of things, my Optic DVD-RW isn't working YAY! I fixed it this morning but I had to restore my computer.

As ugly as setting bDoAmbientPass=0 in oblivion? But if the computer has a AGP port then you should get a grpahics card big enough for morrowind for next to nothing.

Talking of computer geekery (of a milder sort) I thought I might bring to attention for the couple of newer members (and others who've forgotten) the existance of the #chorrol IRC channel. It's a long time since much was said there and it would be nice to shine a little life into the dusty place. Anyway for those with nothing better to do either use the java client (linked from the forum frontpage) or if you have a client it's irc.chatspike.net channel #chorrol .

If 'twere only that easy- I have a couple of 32 or 64MB AGP cards lying around. But the new box is PCI-E. So I will have to wait until I can free up $75 to $100 (I want to be able to play Oblivion).

Thanks to your reminder, I pulled the original Trey from the Forge here. Now to give it a thorough dusting.

Good reminder about the IRC...
