Gonna sound crazy but I'm missing all the old forum members that have disappeared and the old RPs that we used to have. Missing A Mystery Unleashed and similar stuff as well as alot of people who no longer visit these forums. Missing the old fan fictions and missing a time when things were easier IRL. Very sad and depressed right now around the holidays.

Kiln, sorry to hear you're feeling kinda blue.
But it's normal to miss old friends and old activities (in this case, the RP's and fan-fics you used to read here). Especially when RL is kinda sucky, it's hard not to miss things and people you enjoyed in better times!
Hang in there, keep yourself open, and you'll make new friends, find new things to enjoy, and RL will get better. Someday. Eventually. Have faith in that much, at least.
In the meantime, keep us posted on how you're doing!

You are not alone in that, the holidays are known for causing stress and depression in a high percentage of the population. When things aren't feeling great IRL, it is natural to miss the past when things were so much easier and fun. My wishes for you: that things will get better IRL. I really hope they do, and that you have a good friend to stand by your side through the rough patches.

QUOTE(stargelman @ Dec 1 2010, 03:31 PM) The domain waiting4oblivion.com is about to expire. Should I renew it? What do y'all think?
Kind of ambivalent... A lot of folks don't even remember the good old W4O days, but it is a bit of nostalgia for us old fossils- um, long-time forum members. If you guys have to pay a fee for it, I would say let it go. It will give us an excuse to have a bon voyage party.

QUOTE(stargelman @ Dec 1 2010, 03:58 PM) Well it ain't much, was just wondering if it was anyone else...
I didn't know anything about it, I just went - that site is Awesome !!! Someone put a lot of work into that page! Whoever the web page designer is, they did an awesome job! I guess it must be outdated. The link to the forums brought me to Chorrol.com, but the print was smaller and it showed me as not logged in on it (while I was on this Chorrol.com. I guess the theme of it could be "Waiting for TESV, lol. Anyway, I won't vote because I don't know what your plans are for updating it if you keep it going. PS: You should link to it in your comment so people can go check it out !!! This post has been edited by mALX: Dec 2 2010, 05:15 AM

Speak for yourself doggie, I'm still in my prime...but yes there have been many a time when I miss the good old...er days For some reason all of us seemed so much more active back then. Why I can even remember when Stargelman wasn't an old snore (sorry Stargel I couldn't resist) Anywho, I'd love to keep it around just for the nostalgia some of us 'Old Brigade' folks have for it (see what you did Trey, now I'm doing it too). Of course you have to decide if it is worth it to continue paying for the domain, and Trey-doggie is right one should never pass up a party. So I'll bring the cookies, hopefully Trey can bring the lemonade. PS: Kiln, if it is any comfort to you I haven't given up my fanfic just yet (actually in a new writing mood again) hopefully it will help your mood if one of the...longstanding forum writers are still active (though I do think of myself as a second generation writer along with Cloudy. Yourself, Minque, trey, Alex and of course Override are the first gen writers and my inspiration to start fanfiction at all). This post has been edited by Tellie: Dec 4 2010, 12:07 AM

Awww Mr Oven! I'm still alive but not so active at the time being, reasons for that is : 1. My RL take incredibly much time for me, 2. My two kitties need me a lot as I need them and to take care of them.. and at last: I do have a bad conscience about not having updated my story for an huge amount of time...i'm so sorry about that. ALSO I have been very lazy in commenting on other amazing stories around here QUOTE(Tellie @ Dec 4 2010, 12:04 AM) QUOTE(treydog @ Dec 1 2010, 09:36 PM) QUOTE(stargelman @ Dec 1 2010, 03:31 PM) The domain waiting4oblivion.com is about to expire. I also think waiting4oblivion should stay out of nostalgic reasons, but my opinion is of less importance maybe since I've been quite absent lately Then I am pleased to hear from you that you see me in the first generation writers..ahem...but today I'm nothing... STILL....I do love you all, oldies and newbies

Aww thanks Minque...I must say though I am proud to see that I'm still somewhat active with my fanfics (considering myself as the first of the second generation writers) and it feels strange that it has been a little over five years since I started writing, though in hindsight I wince when I see the poor grammar that is rampant throughout the first chapters...though that will change once I can finish editing the chapters and send them to Alex. PS. Planty if your still alive we'd love to hear from you...we do miss you you know PPS: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-11-...-5-in-the-worksI suggest everyone read that...hmm I have a feeling that a name change will be needed again soon, and I can also sense a new influx of members... QUOTE(stargelman @ Dec 3 2010, 04:43 PM) Actually, waiting4oblivion.com was the predecessor of chorrol.com. It's just around for nostalgic reasons. Right now, there's a majority who says let it go...
Its funny that you posted this because I was looking at W4O like the two days before or something. It was nice to still be able to see the old site but to be honest, I don't go there often anymore...alot of the links don't work after this period of time or redirect to a forum page that no longer exists. The only way I'd say you should renew the site is if you like to return there and look over things the way they once were, otherwise I'd say let it go.

Let er diy, laddy, let er diy Well Im sure a few of us pop in every now and then Kiln.. I know I do, just if to see whats up. If the last 5 years have taught me something is that RL is very busy and distracting.. that and gf's and bills and school and not having a computer because you dropped it down the steps... Im sure if you hang around there will be a upsurge of people due to the announcement of TESV. I'm not sure if I have it in me to write anymore though. Has Dantrag been around lately?
