These places get destroyed awful fast by you rowdy people... QUOTE(minque) This is meant to be a place where you can talk about anything without having to stay on topic. Feel free to ask questions, to talk about the things in your life you like to share with your fellow-members. Or just step inside for a while, have a coffe and a good chat! You may feel free to post whatever you like as long as it is within the rules of the forum. But if the conversation degrades to spam, you will be treated as though you are spamming anywhere else on the forum. This is a thread where you can relax and talk about personal things, but it is not to be used as an excuse to make pointless posts. Please help to keep this alive and well and a place where we can meet and share. Enjoy your stay here!!!
QUOTE(Alexander) We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums. It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer. So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.: 1. No spamming. We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it. We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed. The address to that chatroom is: W4O chat And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread: http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=248Or contacting one of the Administrators. 2. No discussion of accounts or warnings. There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that. 3. No trolling. No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming. 4. No religion or politics. No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it. If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator. If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator. If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.

QUOTE(Zarrexaij @ Sep 10 2007, 11:20 PM) Good luck thar Mil.
I'd give you some good karma but I just now realized I have none of that.
*scrapes the remains of his karma and sends 100% of them to Zarr* I went to see that man [it was an ex-colleague of mine, actually] and we talked about possible jobs I could do for him. It's nothing big and if I accept it would be 1/2 of work time, but the money [no matter how scarce] and the time involved suit me just fine. They're doing all sorts of educational software and some smaller games at this point, and would need someone who could do odd jobs & support for smaller tasks. I am not holding my breath, but still this could be decent.

Exactly, Treyman. A job in a normal working environment, with decent pay and co-workers who would aid you and whom you could support back if needed. A healthy environment, in one word - everything that's pretty rare back here. Dog Eat Dog world...

I've been looking for a part time job this summer my self. No luck so far >_> Though I have made a bit of cash doing various manual labour tasks around the house... for example today I've been cutting up old furniture >_>

God damned footballers. I hate their guts so much, when they decide to try to run & fight after the 10th game, when everything is lost.
It could be worse, though. Scotland has beaten France tonight, 1:0, and in their group there is a chance that either France or Italy won't make it to Euro2008. If Italians fail to qualify, I won't be so sad. I hate Italians and like Scots. Go Highlanders!

Yeah we sort of realized it was just a rule we arbitrarily imported from the TES forums, and that the reason for that rule has long been obsoleted - modern forum software does not refuse to work if threads grow big. So yeah, I don't think we have to do it anymore. I think the only reason they're not stopping with it over at the other place is that once a thread reached 200 there, they'd get swamped with reports and posts like "200. This will be closed." Of course if you think that your threads for something like RP is better off being closed after 200 each for better managability or something, then by all means keep it that way. We just feel it's an unnecessary restriction for this one and possibly others And now for that 201st cup of coffee!

WB Shogun Sniperman :/ bummer... we'll be withyaz in spirit? In any case, I have gone and done it. I have deconstructed my keyboard and CLEANED IT. Took me 3 hours, no less, during which time I have removed a ton of hairs, dirt, dust and some brown sticky crap I don't even want to think about anymore from the base of the keyboard. After that long and tedious task [during which my neighbor, medicine student on nearby Uni] has entertained me with stories of clingy female colleagues], I've started to clean keys, one by one. By hand, with home made brandy [45% alcohol is the best I could come up, and the stuff smells and tastes really bad; it had made me puke several times by now so it's not a big waste at all]. Right now the entire thing, put back together, looks oddly clean in contrast to mouse, PC's case, monitor and speakers. Sure, it ain't as white as it was in April 2001, but it's very, VERY clean. If you could've see me clean it, slowly and rigidly to the sounds of Idlewild, you would say "This man is possessed" - but the truth is, I really love this tiny CHICONY keyboard. Even if it gets into its previous filthy state within 2 weeks I am still glad I did this. Now, on to baking potatoes! edit: I have been reading "Shogun" as "Shotgun" all this time. Huh. Shogun, I hope things will be back online soon. Maybe I should clean my keyboard as well during the autumn vacation. (Funny, that one always happens during winter.) Frankly, I don't want to know what's in there. As for cleaning, all I do from time to time is using a sharp needle to clean the dust and other stuff from my mouse's trackball. If the mouse goes jumpy, I know it's time for a cleaning. And now for some good news and bad news. What do you guys want to hear first? Let's go with the good news. My sister has a boyfriend! I was really surprised because frankly, for the last 20 years or so (In other words, during her whole life), she's shown exactly as much interest in romance as I have. Which is to say, so little not even an electron-microscope can pick it up. Ok, maybe she has shown a bit more interest than I have. (She loves romantic comedies while I hate them with a passion.) Oh, and he's over two metres tall. Now we all feel like a bunch of midgets. Ok, that was the good news, now for the bad news. Said boyfriend ran off with my Morrowind disk. I've chosen to deinstall the game and use the free space for some other stuff. I hope I can get Homeworld: Cataclysm to work. I've heard it's a good game. (Knowing me, it will crap out.)
