21-17 Giants!

As soon as I can, I intend to write a "Song of Eli the Dragonborn" in the Dovah language as soon as I have the time. Tom Coughlin is our Arngeir the Greybeard (he shaves when descending from High Hrothgar and doesn't let himself shout too loud to preserve the rest of us mortals) and Eli's defeat of Aaron Rogers was the last dragon slain to power his throwing arm.

I'd like to point out that I think Bill Belichick might be a lost Dragon Priest. And Brady is my equivalent of a Thalmor Justicar. Heck, "Bel-lii-chik" could be Dovah for "Cheater-Video-Watcher!"

*Disclaimer: I am a stalwart New York sports fan, and do not like Belichick or the Patriots. This may influence my opinion, but as I find my biases to usually be objectively justified, my biases are technically "reasonable view-points of John Q. Public."

I'm not a fan of the Giants, and I can't stand the Patriots, but the fact that Brady lost is of great satisfaction to me... biggrin.gif ...

I feel the same way every time Rusty Wallace loses a race. (or dare I say ... every time Peyton Manning misses a pass...)

This entire thread of conversation was a load of complete gibberish to me until a friend of mine mentioned that there'd been the superbowl on.

Such is the price of being British (and therefore classy and awesome tongue.gif)

Et tu Brute?

No, wait, that's Latin, not English (note the capital letter to show it's not the variety spoken by colonials).

Anyway what is this Superb Owl of which they write? And why are all those padded men milling around looking for it?

At least it's a distraction from the dreadful 6 nations games this weekend. Ireland Wales was ok but the Calcutta Cup was just boring. England played frankly badly, Scotland didn't really play at all. Not sure how much more I'm going to watch after that (except super saturday).

There Mustard, that should be similarly confusing to those who understand Superb Owls and the giants who look for them. wink.gif

I didn't watch either, though I was happy when it came on. Work was easy with hardly anyone around. I read a magazine and got paid to do it.

Lol... biggrin.gif ...

I was going to record it, simply because I like the analysts they have on the UK broadcast.

Sadly, the start clashed with the end of NCIS: LA so I didn't bother... laugh.gif ...

Hey there everyone.

I wasn't sure where to write this so I thought here would be fine smile.gif

I just thought I'd say hello and tell everyone that I'm back.

I had fallen pretty seriously ill over the past couple of months and have been bed ridden for a long time, but I'm back now and will be returning to Lissa's story, as well as reading all of yours!

I hope you are all well!

A status report from Grits World:

I’ve been for the first two spine injections, the less said about that the better. Lift with your legs, people. The spine doc is great. Unfortunately in his greatness he discovered that my regular doc had been optimistic. One of the discs is torn, and the other issues that showed up on the MRI really do need to be addressed, dammit. So I’ve been a little distracted with that, hurting from the shots, and getting over the medication that caused some crazy side effects. So my posting has been erratic. That will happen again. I’m supposed to go back in two weeks for two more shots. Scratch that, I am going back in two weeks. I am not hiding, running away, or changing my name to avoid it.

But if anyone comes up with a better plan, I just might try it!!
