I'm still messing around in Train Simulator. Mostly testing some freeware loco downloads on various route Quick-Drives. Here's a video of one such test. (video) Train Simulator ep18, Epping-Ongar Heritage Railway - Manning Wardle class-K 0-6-0T loco (video) I've found only two text errors so far in the published 30min video, not bad for me. One, sadly, is fairly cringeworthy. (Rest assured I'll spot more text errors as I rewatch the episode.)

QUOTE(Acadian @ May 12 2022, 06:23 AM) Thanks, Reaper! Nice to see some Elden Ring in game footage by a real player. Thanks . I wish I could record the REAL battles, the ones that make me hot and pisses me off yet somehow, I end up beating them but the Series S only records a few minuets when it's in 4K mode. Also I'm not very happy that I fought a giant spiritual moose in an underground ruins and a Bloodhound Knight only to be told in a wiki page they're OPTIONAL BOSSES meaning you DON'T HAVE TO FIGHT THEM T_T!!! The Ancestor Spirit wasn't to bad once you learn how to evade its moves but that Bloodhound Knight was an As[censored]! This post has been edited by Dark Reaper: May 12 2022, 04:59 PM

While I was having major angst over whether I could recover my ESO account or not (Spoiler: ZOS was able to take care of the problem), I went looking at other highly-rated MMORPGs.
FF XIV and Guild Wars 2 both got high marks and have a "free to play" version, so I installed both.
Right off the top- neither one is CLOSE to ESO in terms of graphics or complexity. That doesn't have to be a deal-breaker, but the difference is HUGE. Second- I had not realized how accustomed I have come to the fully-voiced nature of ESO. (Yes, the shipping guy at the Glenumbra docks is annoying after the hundredth time he comments on how heavy your crafting writ fulfillment looks, but still....). Not having to click through a wall of text every time you take on a quest...
All that said, I DO like the humor and variety in FF XIV, and will definitely dabble into the crafting soon.
Guild Wars is... darker... but also feels deeper than FF XIV.
And, because of more basic graphics, neither game seems to suffer from lag. (FF XIV tends to require a couple of attempts to get past the "queuing" due to server load message, but only a couple.) Also, a nice feature of Guild Wars 2 is a notification that "This instance of the world has few players. Would you like to transfer to one that is more populated?" I can see that being a benefit to those who focus on the multi-player aspect.
Overall at approximately 10-15 levels in on each, they are worth checking out, especially if graphics and voice-acting are not at or near the top of your gaming needs. If those are important, both feel pretty out-of-date. Note that all of the above is based on the "free" versions, so do not include the most recent DLC.

QUOTE(Acadian @ May 15 2022, 02:11 PM) That Train Simulator sure has some beautiful graphics!
It certainly can. However, the TS game-engine is quite old and limited. To look its best, it needs help. Happily, like the Elder Scrolls series, third-party fixes are available. (Unhappily, they aren't freeware.) I run one mod that replaces shaders and implements otherwise unavailable graphics tweaks. It's something akin to a TS ENB. I also recently added AP Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack. I've mixed feeling about that one, but when at its best it provides stunning results.

I didn't think I'd make it past this Dragon! Damn battle took me hours, days, weeks and massive planning and almost got put off from playing anymore of Elden Ring. This is the last Dragon Battle as I don't think I need anything from them anymore . This post has been edited by Dark Reaper: May 16 2022, 07:56 AM
