QUOTE(mALX @ Aug 22 2013, 07:33 PM) QUOTE(ImperialSnob @ Aug 22 2013, 03:02 PM) They've backed down on pretty much everything expect you have to buy the kinect, you don't NEED it on and plugged in anymore but they don't sell a XBOX without the kinect which is stupid, because if they put out a 100 dollar less XbOne then there's not much diffrence between it and the PS4
Well, I'm glad they backed down on the other crap though. I personally do not like the idea of putting listening and viewing devices attached to the internet and leaving them running in any room of my house period, the idea that you had to keep them on just so you could clap or speak to them to turn them on makes no sense at all in anyone's house that has children/pets/a spouse/a life. They are going to talk/meow/bark, and the XBox is going to immediately try to figure out what command they just gave. Examples: 1. Dog makes a muffled yip while scratching flea: XBox: "Did you wish to play a game?" Dog hears strange voice coming from bedroom - "WOOF WOOF WOOF!" Household is woken up. 2. Husband to wife: "Come on, baby..." XBox: "Excuse me, did you wish to play a game?" 3. Mother to household: "Shhh. Don't make a sound, I finally got the baby to sleep..." XBox: "IF YOU WISH TO PLAY A GAME, YOU MUST SPEAK LOUDER! I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Yes much like their Xbox360 slim's "touch eject and power button" feature. All you've got to do is lightly touch it to turn it on rather than push it, which seems like an alright idea until you actually own one. Every time you clean it your console will have a seizure in which your Xbox will turn off and on while simultaneously opening the disc drive because you brushed over the power/eject sensor. Sure you can unplug it but it is annoying just trying to dust the thing off because if you don't unplug it then it goes nuts. Also, hopefully any household pets are never curious about the noise it is making. My dog and cat have turned off my Xbox on me a half dozen times while I was playing, sometimes when I hadn't saved for hours. Innovative indeed. QUOTE(Black Hand @ Aug 22 2013, 07:49 PM) Legitimate valid concerns.

Oh, wait. It turns out they were completely right...I'd like to exchange my 'security' for my freedom, please.

Yes, we pay for their online service so they can eavesdrop on our private conversations and figure out what else Bill Gates should be swindling us with selling to us.

The power button for my current gaming rig is on the top of the case, rather than the bottom. Thanks to this my cat has habit of turning my computer off every time she jumps on it. Mine is too, I have covered the top of my PC with Mother's Day cards from my son to "discourage" the cat jumping on it for that very reason.

Wasn't a problem with the old Xbox 360 since it was an actual button but the slim has a touch sensor that dogs/cats can easily touch and turn it off.

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Aug 22 2013, 09:48 PM) QUOTE(mirocu @ Aug 19 2013, 12:20 PM) Unless you´re talking about the original Wolfenstein 3D, which I btw play on and off on my Compaq Presario 520 (Windows 3.11), you´re not talking about the real Wolfenstein.
I remember the original Wolfenstein 3D! Mein Leben! Talk about using aimbot. You can aim three feet to the side of them and you still make a hit! This post has been edited by mirocu: Aug 23 2013, 10:15 AM

I've been playing a lot of Minecraft, trying to assemble a decent looking mod loadout. Currently I'm using ExtraBiomesXL, UndergroundBiomes and Ruins, which scatters more complex above-ground dungeons(!) about the map. Now I need to find mods to add extra things to mine, make and do.
Also I'm getting the mod-making bug, but what I want to make is insanely ambitious: an interface to allow people to add blocks, items, recipes, biomes and even dimensions via XML files. First I have to learn the ins and outs of Java and the Minecraft code...
Oh - I'm also attempting Skyrim, with Dawnguard and Skyrim Redone seasonings.
Other than that I'm flat out with Second Life DJ work.

I play as Male Shep because I can't get as immersed if I play a female...since ya know...I'm not a female.
