So that is what Ron Jeremy looked like when he was little! laugh.gif

Seriously though, very cute and cuddly.

He's adorable smile.gif He likes cuddles, bathtime and playing in the tunnel we got him. And sleeping. Finn sleeps a lot, and he hates getting woken up. Not a morning hedgehog at all.

Spots in the sink

Freya being cute

Freya wants to order pizza

Freya doesn't like the vet

Poor Freya had surgery yesterday to remove a cyst that was on her lip. The vet does not know if it was cancerous or not yet. They were able to get it off intact, and sent it to a lab to find out though. I should know in about two weeks. She's got lots of stitches in her lip now, and I have to give her squirts of antibiotics, which she hates.

Funny thing is, she seems to have more energy now. I don't think she's slept since she came home from the vet last evening. Usually she sleeps most of the time. Now she prowls around the apartment, and sometimes sits to look at things for a while. She is eating though, and that is good. She even ate the soft food I bought, which is a miracle for her. She hasn't been willing to eat anything but her hard food for years, not even tuna.

Spots is not much help either. For some reason he seems afraid to come inside the house for the past 3 weeks or so. I don't know what caused it, since he used to be happy staying inside for most of the day. Now as soon as he steps in, he wants out again. Sometimes I can distract him with food or a toy for a while, but within a minute he is racing for the door and howling to leave.

Spots in the sink! laugh.gif How funny. Maybe he’ll settle back down when it gets colder? I don’t like to be inside in autumn, either.

I hope Freya’s cyst was benign. She looks quite disgruntled in her post-vet pic. I’m glad she’s acting like she feels better, since she can’t really say. Good luck with the antibiotics! I always ended up wearing a fair amount of it when I had to give my dogs medicine.

Freya looks completely boneless napping on her pizza menu and in her kitty cup. She’s adorable!

My first attempt at giving her the antibiotics went really well. She wasn't expecting it, and I had the syringe in her mouth and splashed the stuff in before she knew what was going on. The second time she was ready for it though, and the antibiotics went everywhere but her mouth. The third time I had to wrap her up in a blanket to get it in her mouth. She gave me dirty looks for the rest of the day, and ran away whenever I tried to walk near her. So I felt bad.

But now that she's eating the soft food, I came up with a new solution. I am putting her doses in there, and she hasn't noticed. I just have to hide the dish before I let Spots in, so he doesn't eat it instead. He loves wet food.

Freya is one ticked off cat in that last picture. Bless her heart, I really hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

On the meds - I think cats get embarrassed if you give them meds in front of their feline peers, too; on top of being ticked off that you did it in the first place. Then they have to act up by avoiding you to put on a good face for the other cats or something. Whereas if you give him his own wet food - he is getting rewarded for being sick and can rub it in Spots's face - "Nyaaa Nyaaa..." At least that is how my cats act, lol.

Great pics, SubRosa. I'm always amazed how Freya and Spots complement each others' 'paint jobs'. tongue.gif

I wonder why Spots is acting all 'outdoorsy'? Sorry to hear about Freya's lip - hope it heals up okay and if it was something . . . that they got it all.

Freya investigates the new bed

Attacking the mattress protector

A rare moment of Spots relaxing. He is coming in once more, but not for as long as he used to.

The adventures of Freya and Spots! Can we expect a fic from them soon? tongue.gif

So glad to hear that Spots is back to coming in some more. Nothing like a new bit of furniture to attract their attention I suppose?

I'm glad Spots is coming inside again. Maybe he just likes to have his options open. He looks very hugable in his relaxing spot.

Freya looks adorable stalking the folds in the mattress protector. I'm glad she decided it could stay. smile.gif

Today the Grits family mourns the passing of Captain Bobo. He made the most of his short years with us, running daily marathons in his hamster ball and wheel and each day finding and then hiding all of the seeds. Captain Bobo is remembered as a sweet, industrious, and undemanding little creature. His pocket snuggles and whisker kisses will be missed.

I love hamsters. I used to keep, breed, and sell them. They're fun pets and can squeeze into just about anything they want to infiltrate. I'm sorry to hear that he is gone Grits.

Biggest negative to most pets is their shorter lifespans. Especially with small rodents. With pets, I just try to make sure they have enjoyable lives and are well taken care of but it is disheartening knowing that even a dog only lives 12 years or so.
