1) Read entire manual while my brother installs/begins the game.
2) Spend aeons creating a character.
3) Try out the magic system.
4a) If magic system is bad, cry and create a fighter instead.
4b) If magic system is good, use said magic to incinerate all local fauna.
5) Explore. A lot.
6) Never complete the main quest .
Just realised I hadn't added the last points:
7) Play around with CS
8) Give up after making half of a mod
9) Play an RTS

1. Create Character/Install game... etc.
2. Steal with honor... as in being clever and stealthy...not just taking everything you see out of a poor man's cottage.
3. Morag Tong and Thieves' Guild all the way
4. Get lost. That's always fun.
1) Find a way to learn the Telekenesis spell, and have some fun with that.
2) Buy/Steal a horse and ride it around for a few hours.
3) Get into some fist fights with by-standers.
Until the game's released, that's all I can think of.

1) Reading up on the pros and cons of the different birthsigns and races
2) Fool around with character sliders again and again and...
3) Try to complete whole game solely as a magic user
4) Wandering in the forest and be awed by the beauty
5) Watching the RAI in action
6) Ride a horse, but prefer walking (I think)
7) Disabling traps and use them on enemies instead
In short: Putting my real life on hold for as long as possible so I can devote all spare time to playing.

1.I would make a dunmer, breton, or altmer male. Probably altmer since I enjoy being really tall.
2.Find facy clothes. I gotsta look good.
3.Have my character take a nap in the street and see how many people kick me.
4.Play with physics.
5.Join the mages.
6.Try and find Caius Cosades(spelling) and hope he will share his house with me.
7.Join every other guild after I defeat the mages guild quests.
8.Find Sheogorath.
9.And 2 years after getting the game I will defeat the main quest just like I did with morrowind.
1) Read the manual (and any guide books if they are published...see #2)
2) Try to figure out as much game mechanics as I can to see if their are limits as to what I can learn as a character (I'd like to be a stealthy mage, so I hope their are no skill caps)
3) Play around with character creation for a few hours
4) If I have a guidebook, I'll lock it away so I dont spoil the fun of actually playing.
5) Sleep (since I'll have been up 24 hrs straight reading, installing and creating a character)
6) Explore town and observe the npc behavior AI
7) Test out the exciting things I can do involving ranged and magic combat
8) Really try to sleep this time since it's now been 48 hours and I skipped #5

I know this is kinda old but I had to post here. The first things I hope to do in Oblivion are,
-Visit every single town to view the different environments -Visit woods and look for ingredients -Get a bow and shoot at a deer(I'll probably miss though.) -Join arena guild and fight -See if you can really bet on fights like the devs said -Try main quest and if I don't like it I'll go back to doing my own thing -Get horse and make money to buy houses -Take what I need from people but no more than I can use

1.) Read manually several times. 2.) Spend several hours on charater creation. 3.) Create a complicated and interesting PC...and fool around with the aesthetics. 4.)Do the Dark Brotherhood, Mages Guilde quests ~ Maybe start MQ. 6.) Explore. 7.) Travel, on foot, from one end of the land mass to the other, almost like the silence oath quest at the Dunmer Temple. 8.) Find little randomn quests to do. 9.) Get lost, and do randomn things. 10.) Finish #4.
1) Mess around with CS 2) Be a tourist..and walk really slowly in front of others. 3) Pillage here and there. 4) Join the Dark Brotherhood..evil..indeed. 5) Main Quest 6) Run around and do everything imaginable.

1) spend days and several false starts creating the perfect and unique character with a detailed background
2) Wander amlisly through a town watching the NPC's go about their lives and cry at the beuty of it all
3) Try out the new (stealth engine?) and rob blind every rich jerk I find
4) Test out the new bows and get lost in the woods living of the land for months (in game) before starting the mainquest
5) begin planning and desining all sorts of thing I like to make and hopefully be able to do it this time around
(didn't have photoshop untill two months ago, and far to late in getting interested in modling to get a Max that can export .nif -just can't work with Milkshape - sigh)

I would Make about 5 different characters in close succession while having fun with character creation. This is what I would do with each Honest Imperial Knight 1) Do Main Quest until stuck or bored 2) Do stuff for Arena and/or Fighter's Guild until stuck or bored 3) Get rich if not already 4) Use riches to get house, horse and cool stuff
Not-so honest Imperial Knight 1) Ignore Main quest 2) Join Dark Brotherhood and become leader 3) Kill my fellow assasin's 4) Kill people who look at me the wrong way 5) Kill the Emperor 6) Laugh Evilly!
Breton Archer 1) Ignore main quest 2) Get good bow and arrows 3) Get lost in the forest hunting for months only coming to town to buy arrows 4) Get killed by a minotaur then give up on character
Khajiit Thief 1) Ignore main quest 2) Join Thieves Guild and do jobs for them 3) Steal untill rich.
Dunmer Mage 1) Join Mages Guild 2) Do stuff for them 3) Do main quest only when bored
There are some things that I will do first no matter what character I have 1) Test physics system (throw stuff) 2) Be awed by graphics 3) Watch NPC's doing stuff 4) Test out archery system I've heard so much about
